North Koreans Abandoning Socialism?

Posted by Gregory of Yardale at June 18, 2010 12:25 PM

While Obama, Pelosi, and Reid push ever hard to install a centrally planned, political economy in the USA, other nations are giving up on "from each according to his means, to each according to his needs." The North Korean regime, facing mass starvation, has lifted all restrictions on private markets.

The list of socialist true believers is shrinking down to Hugo Chavez, Robert Mugabe, and Bammy; whose policies on health care, student loans, energy, and financial regulation all embrace a vastly expanded Government Role and sometimes a complete takeover. Only 8% of his appointees have experience in the private sector; his administration is made up of the kind of people who think counting life jackets is more important than cleaning up an oil spill. Can those who claim Chairman Zero isn't technically a socialist, please point to one thing he has done to advance free enterprise?

[And, no, you economically illiterate leftist nincomboobs, a taxpayer subsidy to buy a house or a car is not a free-market policy.]
