Beck Bits: Welcome to Universal Healthcare!

Posted by The MaryHunter at November 23, 2009 3:48 AM

Greetings from...

ITALY: Need a mammogram? You'll be able to get plenty done in the meantime -- the average wait is 70 days.
GREAT BRITAIN: About 20 percent of patients with treatable colon cancer at the time of discovery are considered incurable by the time treatment is finally available.
CANADA: The Canadian Supreme Court ruled that the government must stop restricting the private sector from providing health care when the national system (frequently) fails. Chief Justice Beverly McLachlin wrote "Access to a waiting list is not access to healthcare."
FRANCE: French workers pay about 19% of earnings in taxes for health insurance and yet still more than 90% purchase complimentary private insurance.
GREECE: Analysts believe Greece needs about 5,000 general practitioners to meet demand. They currently have about 600. The lack of doctors is so bad that it's common for patients to offer bribes for appointments.
MASSACHUSETTS: "Universal health care will help cure our overcrowded emergency rooms!" the politicians claimed. Wrong. After it was implemented, patient visits actually rose by 7 percent between 2005 and 2007 and costs rose by 18 percent.

Quibbles. People don't die in these countries through lack of insurance...

People DO die in these countries, or are at least made more miserable, through lack of top-quality healthcare. Fewer doctors, longer waits, lack of the best anti-cancer treatments... all products of socialized medicine.

Check out the treatment and survival comnparisons for people diagnosed with various curable cancers in different countries vs. USA:

Fact No. 1: Americans have better survival rates than Europeans for common cancers. Breast cancer mortality is 52 percent higher in Germany than in the United States, and 88 percent higher in the United Kingdom. Prostate cancer mortality is 604 percent higher in the U.K. and 457 percent higher in Norway. The mortality rate for colorectal cancer among British men and women is about 40 percent higher.
Fact No. 2: Americans have lower cancer mortality rates than Canadians. Breast cancer mortality is 9 percent higher, prostate cancer is 184 percent higher and colon cancer mortality among men is about 10 percent higher than in the United States.
Fact No. 3: Americans have better access to treatment for chronic diseases than patients in other developed countries. Some 56 percent of Americans who could benefit are taking statins, which reduce cholesterol and protect against heart disease. By comparison, of those patients who could benefit from these drugs, only 36 percent of the Dutch, 29 percent of the Swiss, 26 percent of Germans, 23 percent of Britons and 17 percent of Italians receive them.
Fact No. 4: Americans have better access to preventive cancer screening than Canadians. Take the proportion of the appropriate-age population groups who have received recommended tests for breast, cervical, prostate and colon cancer: (FOLLOWED BY A LONG LIST OF EXAMPLES)

And the list goes on, Mr. "Quibbles."

You can have facts or you can have democrats.

Time yet for the pitchforks and tar-and-feathers?

What a sickening bunch of thieves these bastard Dems (and anyone else who could whore after this vote, e.g. certain RINO's from Maine) are.

I have an idea, after watching the movie "Escape from New York": Put a large wall around the Capitol and White House, cut off communications, put all the Congressfolks, their staffs and lobbyists, and the current POTUS and HIS admin, and throw up a wall to keep them OUT OF OUR HAIR. Throw some food over the top of the wall occasionally. Let a doctor in once in a while...

Oh wait, why bother? Give 'em a taste of "universal health care".

And then start over with a new bunch of folks, but with term limits, sensible rules about what kinds of laws they can make (e.g. those that stick to the Constitution, a novel idea) and otherwise, leave the rest of us alone!

Well, well. Looky there. Six test trials for 0 and 6. Helluva record. Dumb ass liberal politicians.

2010, prelude to 2012 - End of an error.

I have heard Dems crying about people in the US dying because of a lack of health insurance. Someone please show me even one death certificate that certifies the cause of death as "lack of health insurance".

^^ That's like saying there are more car accidents due to a lack of vehicle insurance. It's just liberal jabberwocky used to try to confuse the America public.
