Morning Briefs: Stuff You May Have Already Read Somewhere Else

Posted by Gregory of Yardale at October 20, 2009 3:41 AM

Good morning, campers

Item Number One
:I believe I mentioned yesterday how the Republican Party has nominated pro-abortion, pro-union, pro-tax Olympia Snowe-clone Dede Scozzafava to run in the special election for New York's 23rd district. It gets worse. At a campaign dinner, a reporter from the Weekly Standard challenged Ms. Sozzafava on card check, increasing taxes to pay for socialized health care, and including abortion in socialized health care. Ms. Scozzafava responded by calling the police on him.

Item Number Two
: Speaking of abortion and ObamaCare, under HR 3200, the House version of the ObamaCare bill supported by Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats, Planned Parenthood would be given free reign to operate clinics in public schools at taxpayer expense. But remember, there's no abortion in ObamaCare. Dear Reader said so.

Item Number Three: Fresh from trumpeting phony Rush Limbaugh quotes, CNN Anchor and vehicular homicide enthusiast Rick Sanchez once again covers himself in neo-Marxist glory by comparing Sheriff Joe Arpaio to legendary racist police chief Theophilus "Bull" Connor. If you can get how enforcing immigration law = turning firehoses on black children, you are perilously close to understand moonbat psychology and should probably lie down for a while.

rick_sanchez.jpg
"Don't worry Mr. Sanchez, we'll cover this up, just like last time."

Get a load of that dumb Dede. If she can't handle a persistent reporter from the Weekly Standard, asking fair questions, she is not capable of being dogcatcher. Or even a file clerk for Tardsville, NY.

When this crap sandwich will have passed and people will realize they've been lied to just to get them to shut up, what will happen, exactly?

Posted by: Jay B at October 20, 2009 5:26 AM

On the subject of DedeScozzafava, email the RNC and Michael Steele to demand they withdraw support for that RINO - DeadScumyyFava Bean.

Posted by: Mousey Tongue at October 20, 2009 5:36 AM

Man, we're on an express train to Hell.
I've never seen so many people so mad at the government.

Posted by: gordo at October 20, 2009 7:20 AM

You Item #2 is exactly like the "Obama wants to make you eat your own grandmother" crap the lunatic fringe was trying to get the sheep to believe a few weeks back.

You would have to be retarded to think that there will be "drive through abortions at recess". Do you wear a tinfoil hat and footy pajamas when you are writing this crap? Or... wait, Ive got it.. you were aborted. And this is all just the spasms left over afterwards. Right?

Posted by: BeerBaron at October 20, 2009 7:54 AM

Oh, and of course abortion will be covered under universal care. Religious views do not get to trump everyone else's reality, ever.

Should we not allow vaccination in the universal healthcare plan, because the scientologists don't like it?

Get with the program here - if you have deeply-held religious beliefs about human life being sacred/magic/whatever... make that choice for yourself. Pretending that the rest of us care about your magic-sky-father fetish is just obtuse.

Posted by: BeerBaron at October 20, 2009 8:12 AM

It is useful every once in a while to see the absolute hatred and contempt the Atheist left holds for human life in full display.

Posted by: V the K at October 20, 2009 8:18 AM

Yep. It is true. You are not a unique or individual snowflake. You are the same decaying organic matter as everything else.

If everybody had the stones to admit that, maybe we (humanity) would have a lot more success in making this world better, rather than all you damned sheep waiting for some other magic life afterwards.

Just saying.

Posted by: BeerBaron at October 20, 2009 8:21 AM

The greatest slaughters in human history were undertaken by atheistic regimes in order to "make this world better." Perhaps because they did not see individual persons as anything special, but as mere "decaying organic matter," easily disposed of in favor of building utopia for a few.

Posted by: V the K at October 20, 2009 8:32 AM

i assume that was a joke...

try again. all aboard the failboat.

Posted by: BB at October 20, 2009 8:44 AM

beerbaron does make the case for retroactive abortion.

Oh, and GOD bless.

Try to distinguish the two different issues here: I don't think babies should be aborted, and don't mind saying so, but I don't try to prevent it happening while it's legal. However, I do have cause to object if taxpayer (my) money is provided to pay for it. Not the same argument, see?

Posted by: Mr Evilwrench at October 20, 2009 9:07 AM

It seems to me that all the negative vibes this blowhard (Rush Hudson Limbaugh A.KA. Jeff Christie) has been spewing over these many years has come back to blow back on his face (A classic “Blow Back”). He always tries to give off the airs that he can have anything he wants but as we all witness those with more money and more influence tossed him aside like sack of potatoes and the ultimate insult was that it was done in public (money don’t buy you everything butterball).

Now of course he blames everyone else (Michael J. Fox, Perez Hilton, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Sonia Sotomayor, Hillary Clinton, Olympia Snowe, ESPN, NFL, the media, basically people of color, the handicapped, women and gays) when of course all you have to do is listen to his show and plainly hear his daily prejudices filled sermons. So NFL, I salute you decision, job well done. And to the whaling cry baby perched on his self made pedestal, quit your whining it was your own fault. You are reaping what he has sowed, KARMA, "Palin and simple" like his followers. Don’t we all feel better?

Evilwrench - You missed the point. This is UNIVERSAL healthcare. Therefore... everybody has to pay. That's what this whole 'society' thing we are doing here is all about. You live in the society, that's the ONLY relvant variable. Your religious views are completely irrelevant. Here in America, religion does not get to play in government. Your contention is based on a flawed premise.

Don't like abortions? Don't have one. Don't like other people's religious (or non-religious) beliefs? Though shit. Be glad the scientologists aren't as loud as people like you.

Somebody get the can of Raid.

Posted by: Karin at October 20, 2009 9:59 AM

Karin, just think of it as a vivid illustration of the ugliness, bigotry, and hate at the heart of the progressive left.

Posted by: V the K at October 20, 2009 10:11 AM

Oh, and be glad you're not among them. I know I am. :-)

Posted by: V the K at October 20, 2009 10:13 AM

Let's see if I can translate beerboobs comments."I don't believe in God because if I did I would have to take responsibilty for my actions"."That would be a real bitch since I am an asshole to everyone I meet". How did I do? :)

Posted by: Farmer Ted at October 20, 2009 10:22 AM

Farmer Ted - I think you nailed it, except you maybe fell short of capturing his murderous contempt for and willingness to exterminate those who disagree with socialism.

Posted by: V the K at October 20, 2009 10:31 AM

Where exactly do you get "socialism"? Have any of you the vaguest idea what 'socialism' actually IS?

Further, I take complete responsibility for my life. All decisions, everything. No "higher powers", no "fate", nothing but actual, physical reality. Adds credibility to my life, I think.

Oh, but it is good contempt did come across. People who live in America, then decry everything that makes us great (things like the separation of church and state; the fact that changing attitudes, combined with democracy, can lead to actual change (remember that election you LOST?); and certainly our limitless capacity to improve ourselves AS A WHOLE) are beneath contempt. You cry your sad tales of black-helicopters, "government wants to eat grandma", 'i dont like how our society is these days so im taking my marbles and going home'... but none of it is relevant, and most of it isn't even real. Tinfoil hats abound...

Don't like that this is how American society works? Move away. Better yet, find someone who can take you to the 1950's (or the 1400's) where you will feel comfortable. But whining in a vacuum is just weak.

Posted by: BeerBaron at October 20, 2009 10:49 AM

But, beerbelly, they've assured us that it is NOT,in fact, Universal health care. It's just "health reform". you know, just improving those things that they deem need fixing. The 0 himself said so. So, it seems you're just projecting what you want on the whole thing.
And your self-portrait was very telling, you ARE decaying organic matter. You certainly don't display any signs of intelligent life.

My apologies for the double post.

Posted by: UpNorth at October 20, 2009 11:09 AM

V, I assumed we all got that part of beerboobs way of thinking,if you can call it that.

Posted by: Farmer Ted at October 20, 2009 11:31 AM

Profundity abounds... so, nothing about your desire to spurn/subvert the greater good of society because you are afraid of made up shapes in the dark?

A hard position to support, to be sure... but I was certain that someone would try...

Beerboobs please try and sound like you have some understanding of Christianity before attempting your flatulence. All you end up doing is proving your are completely ignorant of the subject and have no idea what you are talking about.

Posted by: Farmer Ted at October 20, 2009 12:03 PM

Is there anything more boring than an atheist drone?

Posted by: Judith M. at October 20, 2009 1:37 PM

Yes.

Posted by: Al Gore at October 20, 2009 2:28 PM

Sorry, Al, I forgot about you.

Posted by: Judith M. at October 20, 2009 3:17 PM

Are you guys bashing Beer Baron because he thinks just because your Christian doesn't mean you get any special treatment or is it because he has a difference of opinion and you people like to resort to name calling of everyone that doesn't agree with you.

Posted by: Anonymous at October 20, 2009 3:38 PM

No, they're doing it because we Leftists are out to smash religion, conventional morality in favor of a do what you want, never worry about the consequences because someone else will take care of it ethic.

I mean, who wouldn't get mad over something like that? We on the Left are constantly treating Christians and conservatives like second class citizens.

Posted by: Lao at October 20, 2009 3:46 PM

We're doing it to Beer Baron/Meh/Snot/Multiple Anonymous posts because we're not just going to sit on our hands while leftists bash us... which is what they expect us to do.

Posted by: V the K at October 20, 2009 4:37 PM

The other thing we don't like about BB/Meh/Snot/Anonomii, is that they say stupid things like that they take responsibility for "All decisions, everything. No "higher powers", no "fate", nothing but actual, physical reality", not stopping to think (because that's not something they do) that a *decision* is not a *physical reality*.

Posted by: Judith M. at October 20, 2009 5:21 PM

I will second that.

Thank you, Judith.
