Death of a Traitor

While the media sniffles and wipes its tears, the rest of us can secretly heave a sigh of relief that we are finally rid of Ted Kennedy. Everyone knows that he was a left-wing ideologue who cheated on college exams and left a young girl to die in his car after he drunkenly drove it into the drink. Most remember that he did what he could to undermine our troops' morale and lend succor to the enemy during wartime. A few know that he was an eco-hypocrite, who dumped diesel fuel into the ocean and wouldn't allow windmills to be built if on clear days he might be able to see them from his mansion, even while steadfastly suppressing domestic drilling. But hardly anyone seems aware that Red Ted was quite literally a traitor, who worked directly with the USSR's communist dictatorship to undermine Ronald Reagan's successful anti-Soviet policies.

Here's a Moonbattery piece from October 20, 2006:

Although it's incomprehensible that Democrats would effectively side with an enemy devoted to destroying us, as they have done whenever they thought they could get away with it during the War on Terror, it is not unprecedented. As political science professor Paul Kengor points out in his new book The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism, a willingness to side with our country's enemies to inflict damage on a Republican president was also on display during the Reagan Era.

The same Ted Kennedy who rants and rails against W's attempts to defend us from terrorists arguably crossed the line from useful idiocy into outright treason when he offered to assist Soviet dictator Yuri Andropov in developing a public relations strategy to counter Reagan's foreign policy — the foreign policy that was to defeat the Soviet menace without a shot being fired.

Senator John Tunney (D-CA) traveled to Moscow on Kennedy's behalf to negotiate a secret partnership with Andropov, Kengor reveals. Tunney has acknowledged that he had played intermediary for Kennedy, and that he made 15 separate trips to Moscow. Chappaquiddick Ted told Tunney to reach out to "confidential contacts" to get the word to Andropov, who had enough nuclear missiles pointed at us to blow up the planet, that he wanted to work with him against the President.

Kennedy proposed that the dictator appeal directly to the American people in a series of television interviews, evidently intended to undermine support for Reagan's strong stand against communism. As Kengor notes of Kennedy:

He hoped to counter Reagan's polices, and by extension hurt his re-election prospects.

Fortunately, Andropov died before Kennedy's attempt to form a partnership got off the ground. But maybe the rise of Islamic terrorism is affording Ted chances to make new friends.

This didn't just now come up after his death.

He has been idolized as a Knight of Camelot even though he has always been a treasonous vermin.

- Supported the IRA.
- Cheated on his exams at Harvard and was kicked out twice.
- Sided with communist regimes around the world.
- Described the Iraq war as a fraud “made up in Texas” as part of political strategy

It's hard to mourn someone who had less moral integrity than that which I flush after a take-out order from Taco Bell.

It is not up to me where Ted Kennedy will spend eternity, but I will not suffer silently any nonsense about the loss of a great man. Over the span of his public career, no one person did more damage to this country. That such a man could have a political career at all is disturbing. There is something seriously wrong with people in Massachusetts. I can't imagine who will be elected to fill his shoes, but at least the nation can close the book on a malevolent and destructive political story.

I of course condemn the actions and decisions he made, and do not have any respect for him as a politician, but because I am a Christian, I at least feel bad that a human being, with a family, has died.

Wow talk about taking something out of context.

How is Ted Kennedy a "brother" to Republicans/Conservatives/Christians?

I suggest reading the rest of that chapter as Jesus goes on to explain what happens to people who expect a standard of forgiveness for themselves but aren't willing to apply the same standard to others when they are the ones doing the forgiving.

Better get this 'forgiveness' thingy straight. I can only forgive someone who has done wrong to ME. I am instructed in the Bible to do exactly that. I do not have any power to forgive someone who has done wrong to the guy next door. Forgiveness is irrelevant in this context.

i mean if i were a prosecutor trying to build a "plausible" case, i would assert that teddy was in the backseat attempting to force himself on her and ended up asphyxiating her in the struggle, drove out of his way to dump the car/body. are we to just passively take the word of ted and the local authorities?

I believed 'The Dead Kennedys' was just a punk band, but it's also a dream come true. I wonder if O.J. will get this much praise from the left when he kicks it. Judging by Michael Jackson, I would say yes. Osama bin Laden will probably get his own holiday.

Most writers have the essential component of the Kennedy-Chappaquiddick saga wrong. The knee-jerk Kennedy haters call him a "murderer". The facts indicate otherwise. Murder ~ NO! Manslaughter ~ perhaps YES!

Mary Jo Kopechne did NOT drown. She in fact suffocated. The woman perished while trapped in the submerged Oldsmobile sedan while under water in a dark tidal pond. It was long ago figured that Kopechne survived for at least an hour or more after the crash by breathing from an air pocket. No matter how it’s sliced, that has to be a tough way to die.

With a little detective work it has been figured that the real Chappaquiddick story was fundamentally different from the extensive lie promoted by Kennedy himself. Facts strongly suggest that Kopechne disappeared from the party at an earlier time. She’d mentioned to more than one person that cigarette smoke and the stuffy atmosphere at the cottage were making her feel ill. It was figured that Mary Jo Kopechne after making her way outside, found the unlocked Oldsmobile 4-door sedan, laid down across the back seat and fell asleep. There was no conspiracy or plot involved. It was a matter of simple happenstance.

Later that night, the routinely drunk Teddy Kennedy left the party with another woman, got behind the wheel of the Oldsmobile and aimed the car in the direction of the beach road. Kennedy, with one other person in the front and another laying down on the back seat only made it as far as the narrow Dike Bridge. With his driving skills impaired, Kennedy lost control and drove the car off the bridge and into the Chappaquiddick - Poucha tidal pond.

Perhaps it was the cold ocean water that helped Kennedy sober up enough to escape along with the mystery woman front seat passenger. It is believed that Kennedy did not know that another person was in that car. Kennedy made it back on foot to some point where he was able to make contact with his political minions. Somehow, the operatives got him over to the main island of Martha’s Vineyard, where Kennedy was checked into a motel. Records later showed that numerous phone calls were made back and forth from Kennedy’s room telephone all during the night. He was later seen, in the early morning, having breakfast at the motel coffee shop while casually chatting with other guests.

Meanwhile, local police had discovered in the tidal pond, the now partially exposed Oldsmobile sedan. Upon closer examination, the body of a young woman was found in a corner area near the rear window. Artificial respiration was carried out, but Mary Jo Kopechne could not be revived. Noticed at the time, was that no water could found in the woman’s lungs. Early on, it was figured that Kopechne had not drowned but instead had suffocated. Despite Massachusetts state law in such a case, no autopsy was ever performed on Mary Jo Kopechne’s body to discover the true cause of death.

Kennedy’s later contrived story had him at the risk of his own life “diving repeatedly in an effort to save Miss Kopechne”. At the time, innumerable Massachusetts residents, including me, were outraged. Political stooges had taken depraved actions of the drunk miscreant Teddy Kennedy and spun the homicidal debacle into a performance of heroism.

Despite all, the contemptible Teddy Kennedy was elected again and again to the United States Senate by the people of Massachusetts. To this day, I have been unable to find anybody who even admits to having voted for Kennedy. In life and now death Theodore Edward Kennedy was on every level, a despicable human being. Hopefully through the sobering light of time, the actual facts will be accurately weighed.

In the meantime, the entire federal election system along with congress and senate requires a good strong enema. This nation needs to return to an operation of a true representative republic operated on actual democratic principle. Perhaps with Kennedy’s final flush through the sewer pipe of history, that much needed cleansing can now begin.
