Obama Sides With Nutty Professor

The wheels must be coming loose on Comrade Obama's farcical presidency, because out comes the race card.

The police officer who arrested a Harvard professor for disorderly conduct said Thursday he wants President Obama, who is the educator's friend, to butt out of the incident.
Cambridge, Mass., Sgt. James Crowley arrested Henry Louis Gates Jr. in his home last week after he responded to a report of two black men attempting to break in to Gates' home.
It turned out that Gates, head of Harvard's W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research, had broken into his own home after being unable to find his keys upon his return from a trip to China.
Asked about the incident, Obama, who is friends with the professor and documentary filmmaker, told reporters at a Wednesday night press conference that he didn't know all the facts. But he said, "the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home."

Proof? Like Gates' identification? But when the police asked to see it, Obama's friend started shrieking about racism, which is how he makes his comfy living at Harvard.

Gates also screamed abusive epithets directed at Crowley's mother. Keep in mind that at the time, the cops did not know who he was. You would think he'd be grateful that the police were there to investigate two guys with backpacks breaking into his house, considering that it had been broken into before (per the police report).

Imagine being a cop and having to deal with elitist vermin like Gates, who think that neither laws nor the rules of common courtesy apply to them because they are "oppressed" and therefore higher beings.

From all this, Dear Leader concludes:

Race remains a factor in the society.

I wonder why Chairman Zero would step into this sordid incident just as his Stalinized healthcare debacle is starting to tank. Look for more race-oriented stories to attract his attention as opportunities to distract ours, as the Post Turtle in Chief's panic deepens. Being black got him into this mess, maybe it can get him out…

"See? See? I told you I was a victim!!!"

On tips from mandible claw and Edward.

Nice job photoshopping that black cop in there, you racist hatemongers. :-)

It's time for Reverand Al to weigh in on this already. How will we know how the black community feels if he doesn't?

Give the man a break. I don't mean 'The Man' of course, I am referring to the professor. He's been cloistered in his little radical academic fiefdom for so long of course his default response is to cry racism. Obama the toady can't appear to help himself either.

From the credit line: This image of Henry Louis Gates Jr. at his Cambridge home has earned more than $4,000 for the photographer and the agency he hired. (Bill Carter/ Demotix Images)

You lefties really are a pathetic bunch.

Gates is one of those race pimps that can't survive if their isn't racial strife. What else would he do?

Posted by: Son of Taz at July 23, 2009 11:14 AM

Dear leader states that race remains a problem. What he fails to state is that it is coming mostly from blacks and their conditioning. They often state we whites don't understand. Well yeah we do. If a cop asks me for my ID it isn't because of my race. Nor is it necessary to unload all my social grievances and misconception on him. I just give him my frikkin ID. He looks at it, realizes I had to break into my own house and he goes back to his business I go back to mine but thanking him for keeping an eye out for my property.

Has there ever been such an un-presidential fool to occupy the White House? His comments last night engaging the reporter on this Gates incident, while admitting he did not have all of the facts, was just the icing on the cake of his feeble attempt to put a rose on his turd of a socialized healthcare program. Even Slick Willie Clinton and Lyndon Johnson knew better how to keep their mouths shut and foot out of it concerning an ongoing criminal investigation. The white officer did the right thing considering the unmitigated beligerence and asinine behavior of race monger Gates. Gibbs is such a snide tool to think we didn't hear Hussein Obama insult the police as stupid. No better than Slick Willie's definition of what sex was with that woman. What a pack of liars and race mongers.

Posted by: Clingtomyguns at July 23, 2009 11:21 AM

This KooK was making a scene trying to get arrested. So he could come back and shriek racism!!!

Most normal people would immediately show ID then say, "Im glad you officers were making sure nobody was breaking into my house, have a nice day."

I took a few things from this...

1) Gates is a fucking snob who just didn't like being questioned by a lowly police officer, especially a white one.

2) Gates knows the only way he can get away with creating such a public disturbance in the middle of the night is to cry racism

3) When the fuck are white people going to start saying "enough of this SHIT!" It's overdue. Why are so many whites such pussies?

Posted by: Moonbat Monitor at July 23, 2009 11:44 AM

Given the standard of academic quality expected from the performance of a professional negro with a welfare job at Harvard, I think this may just be Gates' way of setting up an a priori conclusion for a typical study in the racism so prevalent amoungst white police trying to protect blacks.

From Gates 25 Most Influential Profile...

Henry Louis Gates Jr. PROFESSOR

Combine the braininess of the legendary black scholar W.E.B. DuBois and the chutzpah of P.T. Barnum, and the result is Henry Louis Gates Jr. At 46, the chairman of Harvard's Afro-American-studies department has emerged as a prolific author, a whirlwind academic impresario and the de facto leader of a movement to transform black studies from a politically correct, academic backwater into a respected discipline on campuses across the U.S. Says Gerald Early, director of African and Afro-American studies at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri: "Skip Gates has legitimized black studies in the mainstream."

This year alone, two landmark scholarly works that Gates co-edited--the Norton Anthology of African American Literature and The Dictionary of Global Culture--have been published, along with Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Black Man, a collection of essays. At the same time, Gates has continued to attract new talent like UCLA sociologist Lawrence Bobo to the collection of intellectual superstars who have made the once nearly defunct "Afro studies" one of Harvard's most popular--and glamorous--departments. It now includes such luminaries as philosopher Cornel West, legal theorist A. Leon Higginbotham Jr. and urban sociologist William Julius Wilson. Other universities are scrambling to keep pace with Gates' recruiting, driving up salaries for highly sought-after scholars.

Gates will next edit the Encyclopedia Africana, a project first envisioned by DuBois. "In the past, each generation of black intellectuals has had to reinvent the wheel because we didn't have a set of definitive reference books to build on," says Gates. The encyclopedia "will give us a base of knowledge about black people around the world so strong no one can ever say we have no culture, no civilization, no history."

Yet Japanese don't quite pass for Chinese, nor Vietnamese, do they? Africa's well known for intertribal conflicts, as well. This whole thing about denying even the existence of race, at least of the white race, is part of the lefty strategy to demean and devalue whites in general. You're either a fool or a tool.

"THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — The white police sergeant criticized by President Barack Obama for arresting black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. in his Massachusetts home is a police academy expert on understanding racial profiling.

Cambridge Sgt. James Crowley has taught a class about racial profiling for five years at the Lowell Police Academy after being hand-picked for the job by former police Commissioner Ronny Watson, who is black, said Academy Director Thomas Fleming.

"I have nothing but the highest respect for him as a police officer. He is very professional and he is a good role model for the young recruits in the police academy," Fleming told The Associated Press on Thursday.

The course, called "Racial Profiling," teaches about different cultures that officers could encounter in their community "and how you don't want to single people out because of their ethnic background or the culture they come from," Fleming said. The academy trains cadets for cities across the region.

Obama has said the Cambridge officers "acted stupidly" in arresting Gates last week when they responded to his house after a woman reported a suspected break-in."

How did it happen that this "national debate" is the biggest news to come out of a presidential press conference that was hyped for days as being about the health care issue?

After nearly an hour of obfuscation about the subject that was no different from what we've already heard at least a dozen times, this prime-time infomercial ends with an irrelevant question that deserved no more than a dozen words: "Since I don't know the actual circumstances, I can't comment on that." Instead we got the president of the United States using a national forum to criticize an ordinary citizen who was just doing his job. And - once again - plucking the race card from his sleeve.

This smells like a planned diversionary tactic used to draw attention from the issue at hand, with the added bonus of implying that racism factors into any criticism of the Obama administration.

Aren't those black cops?

Posted by: C-Bug at July 23, 2009 5:56 PM

We have three observations about the Harvard professor incident:

1. We find it interesting that the fact that this was the professor's home was evidently not established early on way before the dispute escalated;

2. We find it fascinating that the versions of two members of society, who most would ordinarily view as responsible and honest citizens (this obviously does not include politicians), would vary so dramatically from a factual point of view.

3. Finally, considering that the reading and viewing public were not present at the scene (and thus have no first hand knowledge), and that there is no video tape to our knowledge of the sequence of events and what was said, how so many have formed conclusions, and made assumptions, about who did what and who was wrong.

There are some things which Professor Gates might have considered upon the arrival of the police, no matter how incensed he may have been.

Posted by: Reggie Greene / The Logistician at July 23, 2009 8:15 PM

I agree with Kathleen; there is something fishy about this incident. The questions in his "press conferences" are obviously pre-screened and the answers pre-written or well rehearsed (did you see a teleprompter?), so why would they include this question - the only one that had nothing to do with health care?

If it was a surprise question, then that reporter won't be asking any more questions! It was a great one, though. It highlighted Obama's racism and demonstrated why he has to have everything scripted - he simply cannot think on his feet. It always gets him into trouble.

Gates was arrested for continuing to yell and scream at the cop as he was walking out the door and refused to stop disturbing the peace. Had Gates just kept his mouth shut the cops would have left and that would have been the end of it. But Gates wanted to be arrested so he could make the news. Granted, the cop could have just kept on walking and left but he took the bait. I I was the cop, I would have just turned around and said "If someone breaks into your house and I get the call, Im just going to keep on driving." There is no video of the incident and alot depends on how out of control Gates was. Was he just talking loud or going totally berserk and foaming at the mouth like rabit pit bull? There was black cop, hispanic cop and several witnesses and Im sure we will hear something about their view of what happened.

In the end had Gates not refused to show ID initially and going nuts throwing around racist insults, it would never have gone that far.

One time I had to go into my house thru a window when I forgot my key. Had someone called the cops to investigate, I would have showed them my ID immediately and then thanked them for making sure my house wasnt being robbed. Of course guys like Gates have a massive chip on their shoulders and feel emboldened after Obama became President.

Posted by: Anonymous at July 24, 2009 5:55 AM

Weewilly: from the police report, he was arrested for

loud and tumultuous behavior, in a public place, directed at a uniformed officer who was present investigating a report of a crime in progress [causing] citizens passing by this location to stop and take notice while appearing surprised and alarmed.

In other words creating a public disturbance.

The neighbour who made the call said two black men with backpacks had broken in the door; the first officer on the scene went over to the house, saw a black male inside (who he didn't know was Gates); asked him to step outside; identified himself to the (unknown) man and said he was investigating a report of a breakin.

"While I was making this statement, Gates opened the front door and exclaimed "Why? Because I'm a black man in America?"

Gates immediately accused him of being a racist, then called the police station and asked for the chief, saying he was being harrassed by a 'racist police officer,' and made threats.

He requested Gates come outside to speak further, Gates made a crack about '[his] momma,' came outside, continued yelling threats and accusations, and got arrested for causing a public disturbance.

So long story short he acted like an absolute dick to a police officer who was attempting to prevent what was legitimately thought to be occurring on his (Gates') residence and got arrested for acting like an insane person -- and the person who made race issue from beginning to end was Gates himself.

And what kind of university has professors whose immediate reaction is to say something about someone's 'momma?"

The best line in the original police report was when the officer asked him if he would allow another person to secure his house, because he left his front door open to yell some more. The nutty professor responded that you can't because the front door was damaged by a previous break in at the home.

It's always amazing how the lunatic fringe will ignore facts in order to spew their hatred.

Obama shoved his foot down his throat no doubt, especially after his own admission of not knowing all the facts. I personally thought he missed several opportunities that evening to stfu.

Gates broke no laws by talking trash to the cop in his own home. But cops usually don't like being disrespected from black, whites, or whoever. Massachusetts law states that disorderly conduct is a public offense, something not done in the privacy of one's home.

Gates did provide an ID. Crowley should have left at that point but instead, stayed and lured Gates outside so he could arrest him.

Manible Claw gets it right with "So long story short he acted like an absolute dick to a police officer".

Posted by: andy42302 at July 25, 2009 9:56 AM

Sorry, Andy. It all boils down to this:

Cop went outside. Racist azzhole followed him outside of his own accord. Racist azzhole continued to yell outside, of his own accord. Was arrested for being disorderly in public.

See? Simple!

100% of the blame here lies with the "professor."

Posted by: Andy=FAIL at July 25, 2009 10:39 AM

Failure, had cop said "sorry about he mix up" or simply left, and THEN Gates followed him outside, it would be a different story.
But it was Crowley that encouraged Gates outside.

I'm not saying Crowley is racist, I'm just saying he provoked Gates because he was pissed, or that's certainly a more rational conclusion. Otherwise, why didn't he get the hell out of the man's house and leave him alone?

I know several here are pretty down on civil liberties but there's such a thing as a mans home being his castle, regardless of him being white, black, or if they look like a "rangatang in a polo shirt".

By the number of ignorant comments posted, it's fairly obvious that most of you haven't personally experienced racism on a daily basis, and don't really have a clue what it's about.

As one or two have noticed, being a jerk isn't a crime, or else there would be quite a few LEOs locked up for being jerks.

A cop should be trained to diffuse a situation, not exacerbate it. There are way too many incidents of police making a situation worse than it was before they showed up. The police haven't been "our friends" or trusted for decades. They're trained, and allowed to lie, and lie they do. IMO, if you're in the habit of lying, you're a liar and can't be trusted.
