No Laughing at Doctor Obama

In light of the catastrophic consequences it will inevitably have regarding the cost, quality, and accessibility of healthcare, ObamaCare is no laughing matter. But that's not why a doctor got in big trouble for passing along this harmless and widely circulated joke:

St. Petersburg neurosurgeon David McKalip has been active in the resistance to Obama's planned seizure of the healthcare industry. But no longer, now that it's been learned that he forwarded the picture above, incurring the establishment's sanctimonious wrath.

The absurd incident perfectly illustrates how Comrade Obama's special skin color — which got him into office in the first place — is exploited to help him ram through a socialist agenda that virtually no one outside the media agrees with. An opponent of Marxist healthcare has been removed from the battlefield.

McKalip is withdrawing himself, at least temporarily, from the public eye, canceling interviews that were scheduled regarding health care reform, and removing himself from prominent positions, such as those with the American Medical Association and the Pinellas County Medical Association.
Other people can take up the anti-government stance on health care he has been espousing, he said. For him to continue speaking publicly, after the dust-up over the Obama picture, would serve as a distraction.

Once the media was able to connect his name to the picture, McKalip was toast.

Within hours, the Florida Medical Association denounced what McKalip had done in a statement posted Thursday on its Web site and the organization called on him to apologize.
"The Florida Medical Association is an organization with a zero tolerance for racist or discriminatory behavior," the statement said "As such, we do not condone the circulation of what has been described by the press as a racist depiction of President Obama by David McKalip, M.D. […yadda yadda yadda…] The Florida Medical Association is disappointed by Dr. McKalip's actions and urges Dr. McKalip to extend President Obama an apology for this egregious deed."

Egregious, for crying out loud.

I'm guessing that if ObamaCare passes, McKalip won't have to wait until he's 65 to start being denied healthcare.

On a tip from Wiggins.

I think BO knows St. Petersburg, FL as "Leningrad".

This was supposed to be the 'racist' joke NPR claimed everyone was wringing their hands over?

Say what?

What part of that excellent pic is racist?

Thought policing is getting more off the hook everyday.

Defeat political correctness, refuse to play the game.

No apology is necessary, nor should be forthcoming.

This image is not a commentary on the amount of pigmentation of Barack Hussein Obama's skin.

Rather, it is a commentary on the quality of care given by socialized health care workers.

Essentially it is saying that you will receive the same quality of care from doctors under socialized medicine, that you might receive from a primitive 3rd World witch doctor.

Racism has nothing to do with anything here.

Unless the Florida Medical Association is suggesting that all African America doctors are witch doctors. In which case it would seem that they're the racists.

The photo appears to be of a witch doctor from New Guinea. Do they think this is making fun of Obama's Kenyan half or his "typical white people" half? Or do they think people with brownish skin are all pretty much the same?

Get used to it. It's in the air. In a post on my blog I listed the 8 Texas Reps. who voted for cap & trade and noted they should be remembered when the Texas economy gets hit with the consequences. Blogger has now "removed" my blog for a term of use violation.

And so it goes. Liberal fascism jackboots apace.

But this was perfectly fine during Bush's regime...

So how did this private email attachment get exposed and what if any laws were broken in the process?

Posted by: Contrarian_Libertarian at July 28, 2009 1:22 PM

I was amazed at how many people took it as racist rather than the hit on socialized health care. Heck, even LGF is going nuts about this. White guilt anyone?

Posted by: 6Kings at July 28, 2009 3:03 PM

McKalip should offer one of those non-apology apologies, "I'm sorry if anyone was offended by the photo" like Obama did when he claimed not to compare Palin to a lipstick-wearing pig.

"even LGF is going nuts about this."

Ugh. I got bored with that place somewhere in between the Vlaams Belang obsession and the anti-creationist jihad.

This is pure crap the pious race-mongers in the MSM are trying to pin on Dr. McKalip (likely to try to gin up a story to replace bad news about Gibbs, nationalized healthcare, and Obama's disasterous approval ratings freefall). It reminds me of the MSM's trying to pin Limbaugh as racist because he accurately referred on his program to the David Ehrenstein of the L.A. Times March 19, 2007 article entitled " Obama the 'Magic Negro'",0,5335087.story

Ehrenstein said "it's clear that Obama also is running for an equally important unelected office, in the province of the popular imagination — the "Magic Negro."

"The Magic Negro is a figure of postmodern folk culture, coined by snarky 20th century sociologists, to explain a cultural figure who emerged in the wake of Brown vs. Board of Education. "He has no past, he simply appears one day to help the white protagonist," reads the description on Wikipedia .

He's there to assuage white "guilt" (i.e., the minimal discomfort they feel) over the role of slavery and racial segregation in American history, while replacing stereotypes of a dangerous, highly sexualized black man with a benign figure for whom interracial sexual congress holds no interest.

But the same can't be said of most white Americans, whose desire for a noble, healing Negro hasn't faded. That's where Obama comes in: as [Sidney] Poitier's "real" fake son.

The senator's famously stem-winding stump speeches have been drawing huge crowds to hear him talk of uniting rather than dividing. A praiseworthy goal. Consequently, even the mild criticisms thrown his way have been waved away, "magically." He used to smoke, but now he doesn't; he racked up a bunch of delinquent parking tickets, but he paid them all back with an apology.

Like a comic-book superhero, Obama is there to help, out of the sheer goodness of a heart we need not know or understand. For as with all Magic Negroes, the less real he seems, the more desirable he becomes. If he were real, white America couldn't project all its fantasies of curative black benevolence on him."

Ehrenstein's piece is quite good, and is an excellent summary I've read why white-guilt progressives fawn over this charlatan and try to protect his blunders, skeletons, foolishness and Marxism at all costs. How else could these progressives want to cover-up all the baggage about Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, no long-form birth certificate, no college records. Dear Leader is and incredible odyssey -- a man with no history, or at least none his cronies want anyone to discover, who becomes the most powerful man in the world to assuage their white guilt.

On the racial end, there was no problem with referring to Obama as a "Magic Negro" when a liberal journalist like Ehrenstein was originally writing it, only when conservative commentator Limbaugh picked up on it was it racist. Such double-standard caca ... no wonder most normal people are non-pulsed by the constant BS from the race mongers and baiters like the MSM, Jackson, Sharpton, Gibbs, and Obama about white racism.

Racism has nothing to do with anything here.

That's the cool razor of logic and reason. But then there are the Marxists.

The Marxists will make it have everything to do with racism whether you like it or not. Because that's how they gain control.

Heck, even LGF is going nuts about this.

LGF went nuts a long time ago. It's as relevant a website as Jeff Rense's.

This is from my neck of the woods; the Uhuru B*****DS have probably threatened the good doctor's life!

The Uhurus, in case you didn't know, are an "african" gang of race-hustling thugs; most of whome have never seen Africa outside of Busch Gardens.

Posted by: KHarn at July 28, 2009 6:11 PM

It's quite clear the picture is intended to convey that Obamacare will reduce healthcare standards to third world levels. Hell if there'd been an internet in 1994 it would have been Hillary's face on photos of witchdoctors. Would that have been sexist?

"this egregious deed"

As long as the GOP continues to scurry like cockroaches form the light at shrieks of "racism," they will continue to use it as a weapon against anyone who doesn't go along with their plan. The best response to such allegations is always a shoulder shrug and "So?".

The first dictator to harness the frustration of ordinary white men will go far.

I think I consider myself a counter-racist. I hate it when people, under the banner of tolerance, commit intolerances.

It's one thing for a natural slip-up to occur and for a person to forget himself and show his bias--we're all biased on *something.* It's quite another for someone so vocal against racist remarks to so blatantly play the race card while calling for color-blindness.

Put this picture in the lap of a black man, and they'd have not dared say a word.

I don't care about your skin color, Obama. I'll stop noticing it entirely as soon as you stop calling attention to it!

Gates wasn't arrested because he was black--he was arrested because he obnoxiously refused to identify himself during an active investigation of an apparent break-in, then started in with rhetoric completely unbecoming a Harvard Professor. If I'd been there, I'd have had trouble believing he was who e claimed, too!

And for Obama to call that man, and this man, "racist..."

Black, white, or mongrel, this is utter hypocrisy. In fact, I'm forced to wonder if this isn't an attempt to curry favor with those blacks who have actually bought into the Hollywood "black" stereotype and don't know how to get in touch with their "roots" except by throwing their Fluent-Ebonic rage around at anything lighter than themselves.

I realize that my bluntness may offend, but I'm trying to paint the picture of the small subgroup of blacks I"m talking about--the ones who make the rest look bad. To all those who say, "You're only saying that because I'm black!" I say, "You're only saying *that* because I'm white." Equals don't ask for special treatment. You'll never stand tall until you let go of your crutch.
