"Powers That Be" Squash Investigation Into ACORN

What a surprise:

House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers Jr. has backed off his plan to investigate wrongdoing by the liberal activist group ACORN, saying "powers that be" put the kibosh on the idea.
Mr. Conyers, Michigan Democrat, earlier bucked his party leaders by calling for hearings on accusations the Association of Community Organization for Reform Now (ACORN) has committed crimes ranging from voter fraud to a mob-style "protection" racket.

Evidently "powers that be" is a reference to Chairman Zero, who worked with ACORN to coerce banks into giving race-based mortgages (thus helping bring about the financial crisis), and who plans to use the ACORN thugs he personally trained to create phony numbers for the 2010 Census, which will result in more Congressional seats for Democrats, and more taxpayer $billions showered upon BHO's Dumpster-dwelling base. The word "corrupt" doesn't even begin to describe the Obamination regime.

Too bad for Conyers he can't kill investigations into the behavior of his wife Monica, Detroit City Council President Pro Tem, who has pled guilty to felony bribery. But compared to what's going on in the District of Criminals, the Conyers' malfeasance is hardly worth mentioning.

The definition of "purple" "lip service":

"My Administration is committed to creating an unprecedented level of openness in Government" -- Barack Obama, January 28, 2009

Promising "a new era of openness in our country," President Obama [said]: "Transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency" -- CNN, January 21, 2009

"A democracy requires accountability, and accountability requires transparency. As Justice Louis Brandeis wrote, 'sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants.' In our democracy, the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), which encourages accountability through transparency, is the most prominent expression of a profound national commitment to ensuring an open Government. At the heart of that commitment is the idea that accountability is in the interest of the Government and the citizenry alike. . . .

All agencies should adopt a presumption in favor of disclosure, in order to renew their commitment to the principles embodied in FOIA, and to usher in a new era of open Government" -- Barack Obama, January 21, 2009

Do any of the liberal trolls have the gall to try to defend this administration's sham cover-up for Acorn?, or is it just Bush's fault we now have a shadow government and tin-horn dictator.

Where in the world are real investigative journalists? This administration provides so much fertile material to keep the press going.

I want my country back! NOW!

ZMarshall, I'm wondering the same thing. Any leftist trolls care to defend Obama's blocking investigation of his erstwhile client, ACORN?

Everyone knows ACORN is notoriously corrupt, and a communist front organization. In fact, it's so well known that ACORN recently changed its name to avoid the stigma.

So how about it, comrades? How can you defend this hopelessly corrupt decision by Obama? Hmm?

maybe we can have Inspector General Walprin look into this....oh, wait - Obama already canned him for investigating Obama's friends

Posted by: blue at June 26, 2009 10:24 AM

Good point, blue. If we get pulled over by a cop, audited by the IRS, or investigated for espionage by the FBI, we just hint that we're friends of Barack. End of problem.

What, no trolls on this issue? Did andy and Ghost of Wellpaid Whore take the day off? Is it a holiday for them, Pol Pot's birthday or something?

This and the dropping of the New Black Panthers case should be torches and pitchforks time. Everyone get ready for the 4th.

There’s an Alinsky/Radical Muslim credo that allows for lying if it gets you to your destination. Associate that with whomever you want, it’s a free country. ZMarshall’s well researched quotes, coupled with the ‘Word of the Year/2009’—“Transparency”, point only to lying.

On this scroll, under “Iran and America”, I answered Mr Evilwrench’s wise early prediction of Obama’s White House strategy. I added this about ACORN’s malevolent strategy (I call it the ‘Politics of Inundation):
During the 2008 presidential election, ACORN's strategy was to massively over-register voter rolls with fictitious names, dead people, felons, and the like, with the 'main goal' being to overload, clutter, and clog the system to such a degree, that simple vote tallying would be difficult and perplexing, and accurate recounts would be impossible. When recounts are no longer viable, they are solved by the courts. Bingo, they have now circumvented the voting process! One judge (they hope a liberal) will then be appointed to declare a winner.

Theblogprof is right on track. The Democrats want to stop all ACORN snooping because THIS IS their pot at the end of the rainbow, and THIS IS why they are so freaking dangerous. They didn’t undertake this strategy only to get Obama elected. While that was a satisfying victory for them, it was ‘essentially’ a small step in a long march to finally put an end to the voting process! Has anyone noticed how elections are all now seemingly going to court? That’s the goal! We can talk the truth about Obama/SDS/ACORN relationships, but they’re now rendered moot. ACORN is on the march, they’re staunchly supported and fiercely protected by Democrats for the above reasons, in what has now become an ultimate game of survival.

Well, trolls?

/crickets

Too ashamed to show your cyber-faces to defend your Messiah?

If you can feel shame - even if it takes this kind of provocation - there's hope for you yet.

Are you kidding. Nice doctored PHOTO. Seriously, don't stoop that low.

Is that suppposed to be humorous?

Posted by: simlish at June 26, 2009 11:07 PM

It's not doctored, paget. I'm looking at the original in the article, "Case Study: Chicago - The Barack Obama Campaign" on the Social Policy magazine website. You can register yourself and see it. It's in the combined Winter'03/Spring '04 issue, Vol. 34, No. 2 & 3.

http://www.socialpolicy.org/index.php?id=838

The other articles are a frightening look at the kook left. Foaming diatribes against Bush, slathering praise of Saul Alinsky, etc...

Classic projection on paget's part... he knows that the left photoshops out lies all the time, therefore the right must do it too, dontcha know?

Posted by: hiram at June 27, 2009 9:50 AM

Didn't think any trolls would have the nerve to defend the decision to drop investigation of ACORN.

Re paget, think about the implications of his allegation that this photo is Photoshopped: he's admitting that the photo - which is genuine, btw - is damning.

If you doubt the photo’s authenticity, consider that Obama filed a lawsuit on behalf of ACORN in 1994, so it would only be natural to have met with them.

Reality's a bitch, isn't it?
