CBS: Ahmadinejad = George W. Bush

The moonbat media needs W too much to let him go, even now that he's out of office. Check out this childish dig from CBS:

cbs-mahmoud-bush.jpg

A president who did more than anyone since Thomas Jefferson to defend Americans from Muslim terrorism is the equivalent of the dictatorial head of a terrorist regime. The world is a strange place, when you look at it in the funhouse mirror of the MSM's leftist politics.

The article is a reprint from the equally despicable New Republic. It asserts that Iran has its own "Red State dynamic" — i.e., toothless rubes in flyover country who vote for the bad guy, whether it's W or Ahmadinutjob.

Needless to say, it neglects to mention this message from Bush, who liberated 50,000,000 people from the governments running Iran's dictatorial neighbors:

My message to the young in Iran is that someday your society will be free.

If W is right, it will be no thanks to CBS, the New Republic, or the squishy appeaser they helped install in the White House.

Hat tip: Gateway Pundit, on a tip from Burning Hot.

This is so wrong on so many levels. I guess the MSM needs W a lot more than he needs them.

Posted by: Nancy at June 15, 2009 7:13 AM

Yes, they do need him. He got elected twice against their best efforts, but now if they don't keep harping on him they'll have to start reporting on Maximum Leader Zero, and that's not looking good for them.

Posted by: Mr Evilwrench at June 15, 2009 7:20 AM

What a bunch of effing children the MSM are.

I think the Bush/Cheny bogeymen strategy of the MSM is going to work for 3-4 more months, and then the mess - the deca-trillion dollar deficits, the new terrorist states with nukes, all of it - will be Obama's to own. Unlike the MSM, the people are not going to go along with the evil Bush story for eight more years.

Posted by: mega at June 15, 2009 7:23 AM

Yeah, the reliable Obama propaganda machine dutifully ignores the corruption and incompetence of those *currently* in power in favor of continued bashing of those no longer in power.

The more and more the media cover for the Obama Crime Syndicate on the smaller fuh-cups, the more likely it is they will have one or more disastrously huge fuh-cups whose consequences will be too big for even Brian Williams's obsequious bowing or Chris Matthews tingly legs to cover.

Again, whine, whine, whine! Laura Secor's piece is a comparison. Unpopular,Controversial, and doubts about fraud and the authenticity of the election are now flying around like childish name calling on this site.On the surface comparing Ahmadinajad to Bush and Mousavi to Kerry is pretty accurate. While I was no fan of Bush,it is slightly extreme.Mousavi motivated a base that firmly believed things were headed in the wrong direction, much like Kerry supporters did. Wow,even my liberal circles of friends, even we were not this petty for the Bush years.

hey, if CBS can compare Ahmadinejad to George W. Bush, why can't I compare B. Hussein Obama to an Muslim terrorist?

hey, if CBS can compare Ahmadinejad to George W. Bush, why can't I compare B. Hussein Obama to an Muslim terrorist?

Because that would be heresy against the Dear Leader, you capitalist running dog pig!

Posted by: Host of Gallstones at June 15, 2009 9:57 AM

Gregory, your link is expired, and I said my liberal circle of friends. I doubt any of us are pictured or quoted in whatever your link was. And Anon, wasn't that just a special little quote. What is actually pathetic, is most of you (Judith an exception), is you cannot even in the slightest discuss anything with anyone you deem "a liberal". Yet, you go off on rants about how Liberals are not inclusive. There have even been threads where I at least met some of you half way on a topic or two. Just a suggestion...grow up!

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at June 15, 2009 9:59 AM

So, you claim postings in the liberal-run media and the most popular left-wing blogs don't represent you or your (probably imaginary) friends, but all comments on every "conservative" blog represent all conservatives everywhere?

Yet another liberal double standard I guess.

What you lefties are too dumb, I think, to realize is that a lot of us on the right have liberal friends, and we went to liberal universities where the faculties were very liberal, and the student-run newspapers were just left of Granma. We know who you are. We know what you're like. And, yes, a lot of us were circulated on those nasty Bush-hating chain emails your crowd delighted in sending around the last eight years.

So, don't try to give us this BS on how you guys are all "clean as the driven snow" and it's just a few on your fringe (who seemingly run CBS News, MSNBC, Time, Newsweek, the New York Times, the Puffington Ho, Daily Kos, Comedy Central, et c) who make you guys look bad.

Posted by: Gregory of Yardale at June 15, 2009 10:07 AM

Maybe the MSM can encourage Nobel Prize winner/Worst ex-president Jimma Caughter to go to Tehran and bless the fairness of the elections like he did for Hugo, so Dear Leader can go over and kiss Madmood the anti-semite hostage taker's toe ring.

George W. Bush was a Patriot, that's all.

Laura Secor does her best to sound like some sort of legitimate jornalist......and her best isn't very good.

Ms. Secor's text appears on the Opinion pages, and her agenda is very clear - to further demonize former President Bush.

Ms. Secor is entitled to her opinion, and as an Opinion columnist is even entitled to be less than objective and have an agenda - but this doesn't mean she's entitled to make up her own "facts".

Just about every connection she attempts to make between former President Bush and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a stretch at best, and in many cases is simply an inversion of the facts.

The "Red State dynamic" she refers to, where the rural population are dependent on the State has more in common with the destructive culture of dependency the Democratic party had created with key urban constituencies than with anything on the Right.

Her text reads like an old New York Times editorial about President Bush. Take this little gem, for example: "Ahmadinejad has made a mess of the economy, clamped down on political dissent and social freedoms, militarized the state, and earned the enmity of much of the world." In A-Jad's case, it's true - but these things have been true ever since the Islamic Revolution in Iran. The mainstream media spent years telling us the same thing about President Bush, and are continuing to try to force his legacy into this mold, even though the facts say otherwise.

Secor's ramblings continue, as she attempts to paint Ahmadinejad as some sort of Iranian "good old boy" type who plays well with the rural crowd. This is supposed to parallel former President Bush somehow; in reality this too has more in common with the political Left when compared to the U.S. Ahmadinejad is actually from a "minority" background in his country, and people of similar regional and ethnic heritage are fiercely loyal to him.....which sounds more like Barack Obama than George Bush.

Then of course we have the 'voter irregularities and stolen election' nonsense - which was most likely the typical uninspired Liberal starting point for Ms. Secor when she generated her text. In Iran, it appears there may be some thruth to it, and Iranians (oddly enough the urban Iranians that Secor says don't vote) are taking to the streets in protest. Somehow this is supposed to parallel the U.S. 2000 and 2004 elections, where the Democratic party tried to use lawfare to steal two close elections, and was soundly defeated.

Although Laura Secor has attempted to credential herself as some sort of 'expert" on Iran, and is supposedly creating a book-length text on Iran for possible publication, Secor's CBS-sponsored post is not about Iran at all - it's about former President George W. Bush.

This is just another way for the Letterman-Like Loopy, Loony, Lying Lemming-Like Lobotomized Leftist Losers to shout "BusHitler!!!" and take one more childish swipe at former President Bush.

Pretty pathetic, really.

Bush, who liberated 50,000,000 people from the governments running Iran's dictatorial neighbors

Hey, Ghost of Wellstone, the above sentence is what you and your arsehole leftist comrades have spent the last eight years trying to deny.

"Unpopular," "doubts over elections," blah blah blah whatever other crap-arsed excuse you want to dredge up.

We all know the reason you and the left disliked Bush was because he was a Christian and a conservative, and probably the greatest humanitarian to have lived last century (go on, cite another person who personally oversaw bringing democracy to 50 MILLION people), and he exposed you and your type for what you really are -- shallow, vapid, empty spiteful little children who constantly give lip service to human rights, equality and fairness, but have no idea about how to achieve them -- and who spit on anyone who actually does something to accomplish any of those goals, justifying your ire with made-up, petty excuses that are only convincing to yourselves.

FOAD.

Exactly. The irony of this is that leftists will often rant about 'neocons' who supported Bush, without realising that inherent in the neologism itself is that many people start off liberal and move towards conservative views as reality begins intruding.

As Winston Churchill (probably) did(n't) say, anyone under 25 who's not a liberal has no heart, anyone over 25 who's not a conservative has no brain...

Posted by: mandible claw at June 16, 2009 2:09 AM

Mandible, I do applaud Bush's efforts on fighting the Aids crisis in Africa, it was a great humanitarian effort indeed. As far as Iraq...well, if he had told us he wanted to liberate the people for "humanitarian" purposes, ok...nobody would have gone for it, and nearly 4500 American soldiers lives was far too high a price. So, he lied, cherry picked evidence, and broke countless laws. And nearly 10 years, and the country is still a disaster, and private companies have reaped millions. Look up how many car bombs went off in Iraq prior to our invasion, you'll be surprised. And it is nonsense that the left hated him for being a Christian and a Conservative is bs. I had my questions surrounding the 2000 election, and did not vote for him. However, when all was said and done, I went on and let it go. Then came all of his and Cheney's atrocities.

Welly's Leftist text screeches, "So, he lied, cherry picked evidence, and broke countless laws.......I had my questions surrounding the 2000 election, and did not vote for him. However, when all was said and done, I went on and let it go."

"Countless Laws"? Name ONE.

No, Kyle, you have never, ever let anything "go". I won't even bother to go point by point through that paragraph - it just isn't worth it.

Sometimes it's evident from your writing that you're just parroting this stuff - I don't even think you yourself believe most of it. It's not about truth with you - it's about the self-affirmation you get from trying to beat everything into a shape that will fit into the Leftist template. It's sad, really.
