ABC News to Operate From White House

The nationalization of the healthcare industry could be the point of no return. Once it has been imposed, economic freedom in America may never recover, making our steady slide toward total government control of the economy and therefore every aspect of our lives inexorable. Naturally the statists who run the media and installed our current goverment are pulling out all the stops to push it through. From Drudge:

On the night of June 24, the media and government become one, when ABC turns its programming over to President Obama and White House officials to push government run health care … ABCNEWS anchor Charlie Gibson will deliver WORLD NEWS from the Blue Room of the White House.
The network plans a primetime special — 'Prescription for America' — originating from the East Room, exclude opposing voices on the debate.

From Republican National Committee Chief of Staff Ken McKay's complaint to the head of the government agency calling itself ABC News:

As the national debate on health care reform intensifies, I am deeply concerned and disappointed with ABC's astonishing decision to exclude opposing voices on this critical issue on June 24, 2009. Next Wednesday, ABC News will air a primetime health care reform "town hall" at the White House with President Barack Obama. In addition, according to an ABC News report, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, WORLD NEWS, NIGHTLINE and ABC's web news "will all feature special programming on the president's health care agenda." This does not include the promotion, over the next 9 days, the president's health care agenda will receive on ABC News programming.
Today, the Republican National Committee requested an opportunity to add our Party's views to those of the President's to ensure that all sides of the health care reform debate are presented. Our request was rejected. I believe that the President should have the ability to speak directly to the America people. However, I find it outrageous that ABC would prohibit our Party's opposing thoughts and ideas from this national debate, which affects millions of ABC viewers.

It's official: the mainstream media is a branch of the left wing of the Democrat Party, which is now running the country — and deliberately steering the economy over a cliff into socialist authoritarianism.

Wow, I've heard of plenty of revolutionary leaders that have shut down and taken over media outlets, but not one where the media outlets just hand themselves over. Man, we're gettin' it all ass-backward; the blood in the streets and heads a' rollin' is supposed to come before the subversion of the media, right? That's what we get for electing the enemy as president instead of having a sensible revolution like everyone else.

At last there will be transparency in the Obama White House, as the Always Been Communists propagandists discard their last shred of pretence.

It is the absolute right of the State to supervise the formation of public opinion.

Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.

Soooo, obama wants the fairness doctrine for radio talk shows, which i hear is popular among republican listeners, but rejects the republican partys request to give their side of opinion on television now. Wake up america, this president has a seriously scary agenda, and the sad thing is that he's not even hiding it. its plain to see

Posted by: Joe Nen at June 16, 2009 10:25 AM

Joe Nen, I've heard Obama hasn't expressed any desire to bring in the Fairness Doctrine, in spite of how much the far left has been shrieking for him to do so.
However, you are right on its intent. See, as this story indicates, much of the media, especially television, is almost completely controlled by the far left. However, there is one media venue in which conservatives have always had the edge: Talk radio. It's why Rush Limbaugh has millions of listeners (I personally don't listen to his show, but that's besides the point) and loads of sponsors, whereas liberal talk radio ventures such as Air America fail almost everywhere they're introduced due to piss- poor ratings and a lack of sponsors.
As you can imagine, this fact pisses off the far left. So, they push for the Fairness Doctrine, which they know will force the radio station managers to either compromise what they stand for by giving every bit as much airtime to liberal commentators as they do to conservative ones, or pull the plug. Some believe the Fairness Doctrine, if passed, may even be extended to Christian radio stations that don't talk about politics at all, by forcing the Christian commentators on those stations talking about the faith to share equal airtime on the station with atheist and Muslim commentators talking about their beliefs.

Welcome to the cave! Spelunking anyone?

This is the reality of Plato's Allegory of the Cave playing out. The MSM casts shadows on the cave wall to define the reality it and the president want us to see. Control of the media, dissemination of information, allows them to define reality for the population. Do not be taken in. Fight for truth, justice and the American way, for they are not.

Remember why Plato wrote this. It was because his mentor was put to death by the politicians because of what they said he had done. It was not because of the truth behind the man.

Call this an unpaid commercial or an attempt to induce the White House to "pay it forward" when the USG takes over the networks after their bankruptcy. A la NBC, a pre-emptive bribe...

Back when I worked for 20/20, I met with Av Westin, the father of the current nepotistic nerd-in-charge. Like all nerds, the Westins are socialists who hate individual excellence since the family possesses none of it themselves. Ditto for the other networks, all holding tanks for third-rate "journalists" with little or no clue as to how a business works.

Sadly, I doubt John Stoessel will be in the Blue Room. Probably Diane Sawyer, who worked in the Nixon WH before she defected and other refugees from excellence who infest the ABC newsroom.

but but but but.....we ALL know that Bush-co had total dictatorial control over the media, like Dan Rather, The View, Hollywood (look at all the pro-Bush movies that came out in eight years), on and on....

In controlling heathcare is a way to utterly control the people, and ABC... Another Barack Channel, is more than glad to help. After all, the higher ups and elite in The Party got all the privileges in Soviet Russia, and if we ever fall like that... it'll be the same damn thing here.

How does this surprise you? They did the same bloody thing in Iraq under Saddam for years - "see no evil, hear no evil, ...."

It get's them 'inside' and thus makes them 'important'. They are all about ego and not about reporting. Think about it. Talking heads make millions a year while skilled tradesmen make mere tens of thousands of dollars a year. One has a nice haircut, the other has a real and useful skill. That tells you all you need to know about modern America.

you can make a stand - cancel local programming from your satellite packages with a thorough explanation as to why you're doing so.

From the All Barack Channel: "Overdose for America" -- how "journalists" gave up all pretense of objectivity and became toadies of the State, starring B. Hussein Obama, who plays a president on TV, and a cast of thousands of morons who cannot write anything original to save their lives (but are great stenographers, who regurgitate the "Party Line" beautifully).

Coming soon to a White House near you . . .

Truly, truly pathetic. Can Barry jam that thing any further down their throats? "Take it, boys! Take it! Suck hard! Don't stop til I tell you to . . ."

This is why ABC's ratings are falling. No one wants government run news.

POSTED: 5:17 pm EDT June 16, 2009
UPDATED: 5:42 pm EDT June 16, 2009

NEW YORK -- ABC News is crying foul over a report that says "World News" most likely had its smallest audience ever.

The network has asked Nielsen Media Research to investigate. The company initially reported that a little more than 4 million people watched "World News" last Friday, the first night of the digital switch over.

Usually, more than 7 million watch the ABC broadcast on Fridays. ABC says a drop-off from the average could have been expected, especially given the slow summer season, but a disappearance of 3 million people didn't make any sense.

Nielsen Media Research says it is looking into the case.

To paraphrase Schmucky Schumer:

ABC has a “public interest obligation… to serve the civic needs of a democracy by promoting an open and accurate discussion of political ideas and events.... That ABC would consider airing a program that could be construed as left-wing political propaganda on such a grave and important issue to our nation is a discredit to the legacy of honesty built at ABC by honorable individuals from David Brinkley to Peter Jennings.”
