If the shirts were brown instead of red, I would think we were living in 1930s Germany. Obama's friends at ACORN will be harassing lenders across the nation today, in an attempt to bully them into supporting The Leader's foreclosure-avoidance program — just as they bullied lenders into making loans based on race instead of ability to repay, thus helping to cause the subprime mortgage crisis that brought down the economy.

The campaign is entitled Home Wrecker 4. In the crosshairs are Goldman Sachs, HomEq Servicing, American Home Mortgage, and OneWest.

As American Spectator reminds us,

[L]et's not forget that ACORN helped to cause the mortgage bubble by strongarming banks into making loans they shouldn't have. And cheering them on was ACORN's lawyer, Barack Obama, who contributed to the increasingly hostile environment for banks when he represented plaintiffs in the 1995 class action lawsuit Buycks-Roberson v. Citibank. The suit demanded that Citibank grant mortgages to an equal percentage of minority and non-minority mortgage applicants. The bank settled the case three years later and reportedly agreed to beef up its lending to unqualified applicants.

It looks like Obama and his enforcers learned a valuable lesson from the crisis they helped create: crises are good for the moonbat agenda. If not for last fall's economic crash, the personification of Big Government would never have been elected POTUS.

Don't blame the Despicable Eight, aka the Cap'n Traitors, for voting in favor of crippling our economy with a multi-$trillion energy tax in the name of the polar bears without even having read the 1,000+ page energy bill that would not only tip our economy into a depression, but allow the federal government to regulate the most picayune aspects of our lives. Not even the Energy Czarina Carol Browner has read it.

The left has suffered a minor setback in its progressive march toward a diverse and tolerant future:

A Duke University official has been arrested and charged with offering a 5-year-old boy for sex.
Frank Mccorkle Lombard, the school's associate director of the Center for Health Policy, was arrested Wednesday, June 24 after an Internet sting, according to the FBI's Washington field office and the city's police department. …
Authorities said that Lombard tried to persuade a person — who he did not know was a police officer — to travel to North Carolina to have sex with a child.
The detective's affidavit charges Lombard said in an online chat that he had sexually molested the boy. The court papers say Lombard also invited the undercover detective to North Carolina to have sex with the young boy and even suggested which hotel he should use.
…Lombard said he "was into incest" and had adopted two African-American children, the affidavit says.

Lombard has some advice for his fellow child rapists: black children are easier to adopt, and knock them out with Benadryl before molesting them. The children were adopted by Lombard and his homosexual partner.

As you'll recall, when a drunken prostitute made false rape accusations against Duke lacrosse players, the faculty loudly denounced them, with no need for evidence. But the moonbats aren't so loud when the rape is real.

California House Speaker Calls Conservatives "Terrorists"

Normally, Democrats take the side of terrorists, righteously defending them from those who would subject them to oppression. But terrorism doesn't always find favor with our current rulers. For example, expressing the view that our taxes are high enough without being sent even further through the stratosphere is a form of terrorism fiercely condemned by California Assembly Speaker Karen Bass. Here's how she reacted when asked, "How do you think conservative talk radio has affected the Legislature's work?"

The Republicans were essentially threatened and terrorized against voting for revenue. Now [some] are facing recalls. They operate under a terrorist threat: "You vote for revenue and your career is over." I don't know why we allow that kind of terrorism to exist. I guess it's about free speech, but it's extremely unfair.

After the pesky First Amendment has followed the Tenth into the trashcan, the Department of Homeland Security will devote itself to dealing firmly with this terrorist threat. When the airwaves are rid of terrorists pleading for tax relief, it can move on to the Internet.

If you don't want kleptocrats like Bass stealing more of your money, you're a terrorist too.

Despite House Vote, Global Warming Hoax Begins to Collapse

Although the House just passed a bill that would plunge the country into a depression in the name of global warming, in other countries, even bureaucrats are starting to admit that it is a hoax.

Steve Fielding recently asked the Obama administration to reassure him on the science of man-made global warming. When the administration proved unhelpful, Mr. Fielding decided to vote against climate-change legislation.
If you haven't heard of this politician, it's because he's a member of the Australian Senate. As the U.S. House of Representatives prepares to pass a climate-change bill, the Australian Parliament is preparing to kill its own country's carbon-emissions scheme. Why? A growing number of Australian politicians, scientists and citizens once again doubt the science of human-caused global warming.
Among the many reasons President Barack Obama and the Democratic majority are so intent on quickly jamming a cap-and-trade system through Congress is because the global warming tide is again shifting. It turns out Al Gore and the United Nations (with an assist from the media), did a little too vociferous a job smearing anyone who disagreed with them as "deniers." The backlash has brought the scientific debate roaring back to life in Australia, Europe, Japan and even, if less reported, the U.S. …
The number of skeptics, far from shrinking, is swelling. Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe now counts more than 700 scientists who disagree with the U.N. — 13 times the number who authored the U.N.'s 2007 climate summary for policymakers. Joanne Simpson, the world's first woman to receive a Ph.D. in meteorology, expressed relief upon her retirement last year that she was finally free to speak "frankly" of her nonbelief. Dr. Kiminori Itoh, a Japanese environmental physical chemist who contributed to a U.N. climate report, dubs man-made warming "the worst scientific scandal in history." Norway's Ivar Giaever, Nobel Prize winner for physics, decries it as the "new religion." A group of 54 noted physicists, led by Princeton's Will Happer, is demanding the American Physical Society revise its position that the science is settled. (Both Nature and Science magazines have refused to run the physicists' open letter.)
The collapse of the "consensus" has been driven by reality. The inconvenient truth is that the earth's temperatures have flat-lined since 2001, despite growing concentrations of C02. Peer-reviewed research has debunked doomsday scenarios about the polar ice caps, hurricanes, malaria, extinctions, rising oceans. A global financial crisis has politicians taking a harder look at the science that would require them to hamstring their economies to rein in carbon.

The global warming hoax is on life support, being kept alive only by a rigorous if ridiculous campaign to suppress reality. For example, a top expert on polar bears was banned from speaking for not being willing to pretend that the man-eating beasts are endangered by our lawnmowers:

Over the coming days a curiously revealing event will be taking place in Copenhagen. Top of the agenda at a meeting of the Polar Bear Specialist Group (set up under the International Union for the Conservation of Nature/Species Survival Commission) will be the need to produce a suitably scary report on how polar bears are being threatened with extinction by man-made global warming.
This is one of a steady drizzle of events planned to stoke up alarm in the run-up to the UN's major conference on climate change in Copenhagen next December. But one of the world's leading experts on polar bears has been told to stay away from this week's meeting, specifically because his views on global warming do not accord with those of the rest of the group.
Dr Mitchell Taylor has been researching the status and management of polar bears in Canada and around the Arctic Circle for 30 years, as both an academic and a government employee. More than once since 2006 he has made headlines by insisting that polar bear numbers, far from decreasing, are much higher than they were 30 years ago. …
Dr Taylor had obtained funding to attend this week's meeting of the PBSG, but this was voted down by its members because of his views on global warming. The chairman, Dr Andy Derocher, a former university pupil of Dr Taylor's, frankly explained in an email (which I was not sent by Dr Taylor) that his rejection had nothing to do with his undoubted expertise on polar bears: "it was the position you've taken on global warming that brought opposition".
Dr Taylor was told that his views running "counter to human-induced climate change are extremely unhelpful". His signing of the Manhattan Declaration — a statement by 500 scientists that the causes of climate change are not CO2 but natural, such as changes in the radiation of the sun and ocean currents — was "inconsistent with the position taken by the PBSG".

Once again we see that global warming has nothing to do with science, and everything to do with authoritarian liberal politics. Anyone who still doubts it needs to watch The Great Global Warming Swindle.

Not oppressed after all. But we will be, if Cap and Tax gets through the Senate.

In light of official DNC blogger Linda Kellen Biegel's tasteless assault on Sarah Palin's disabled son, the execrable Wonkette — who earlier implied that Trig Palin wished he'd been aborted — has renewed her campaign of ridicule against this poor kid with Down syndrome whom progressives believe should have been put to death in the womb.

Wonkette sneeringly refers to Trig as "the New Jesus," "the Sacred One," and "the Holy Infant," and denounces Saracuda for using him "as a cheap political prop" by holding him in public. The post is illustrated with another nasty photoshop of Trig, with links to plenty more. At least moonbats have found something creative to do with their time. A couple of examples:

Obamination Regime Backs Deposed Marxist Tyrant in Honduras

It may be none of our business what happens to those who rise up against tyranny in Iran, but let them successfully depose a tyrant in Honduras, and our rulers suddenly lose their distaste for "meddling." Comrade Obama and Shrillary have come down on the side of the Marxist strongman Manuel Zelaya, who tried to pull a Hugo Chavez in Honduras and found himself out of a job. Risibly, they have been blathering about the "rule of law" — as if either had a shred of respect for the concept.

Hot Air summed up the situation yesterday:

In a nutshell, Zelaya wanted another term as president so he decided to hold a popular referendum on whether he should be eligible. Minor problem: The Honduran constitution can't be amended by popular referendum so the country's supreme court ordered the vote canceled. Zelaya tried to go ahead with it anyway. Literally every other arm of the Honduran government — judiciary, legislature, military — was against him, to the point where the troops who arrested him this morning were evidently acting on a court order. Why such strong, unified opposition? According to one retired Honduran general cited by Fausta, it's because Zelaya's a Chavez stooge and him staying on would mean "Chavez would eventually be running Honduras by proxy." Two questions, then. One: In their rush to drool all over themselves about "the rule of law," do Obama and Hillary realize that it's Zelaya who was flouting the rule of law here? I know The One's a big believer in executive power but even he'd acknowledge that defying an order from the Supreme Court crosses the line (I think). And two: Why is Team Barry siding with Zelaya instead of simply staying out of it? The White House proved with Iran that they're capable of maintaining very tactful silences for excruciatingly long periods of time. Yet today we've got not only the secretary of state but the president himself rushing out statements. Is this some kind of half-assed attempt to make nice with Chavez now that relations have been restored by supporting one of his cronies?

Historically, America has supported liberty against tyranny throughout the world. Many Americans have died heroically in this cause. But our government is on the other side now, as its reactions to recent events in Iran and Honduras make all the more obvious.

Moonbats Suppress Their Child's Gender

Not everyone should be a parent. In Sweden, a pair of moonbats are attempting to turn their child into a freak by pretending the poor kid has no gender:

Pop's parents, both 24, made a decision when their baby was born to keep Pop's sex a secret. Aside from a select few — those who have changed the child's diaper — nobody knows Pop's gender; if anyone enquires, Pop's parents simply say they don't disclose this information.
In an interview with newspaper Svenska Dagbladet in March, the parents were quoted saying their decision was rooted in the feminist philosophy that gender is a social construction. …
Pop's wardrobe includes everything from dresses to trousers and Pop's hairstyle changes on a regular basis. And Pop usually decides how Pop is going to dress on a given morning.
Although Pop knows that there are physical differences between a boy and a girl, Pop's parents never use personal pronouns when referring to the child — they just say Pop.
"I believe that the self-confidence and personality that Pop has shaped will remain for a lifetime," said Pop's mother.

Or rather, the psychological damaged Pop's moonbat parents are inflicting will last a lifetime. A similar experiment was tried in 1967,

when a circumcision left one of two twin brothers without a penis. Dr. John Money, who asserted that gender was learned rather than innate, convinced the parents to raise 'David' as 'Brenda' and the child had cosmetic genitalia reconstruction surgery.
She [sic] was raised as a female, with girls' clothes, games and codes of behaviour. The parents never told Brenda the secret until she [sic] was a teenager and rebelled against femininity. She [sic] then started receiving testosterone injections and underwent another genetic reconstruction process to become David again. David Reimer denounced the experiment as a crushing failure before committing suicide at the age of 38.

But moonbattery can never fail enough times to warrant giving up, or socialism would have been abandoned generations ago. All we need is a little more coercion. Maybe if we got the federal government more involved in childrearing…

Eight RINOs Let Cap and Tax Insanity Pass

Astoundingly, eight Republicans voted in favor of the massive statist power grab that passed the House yesterday, which will result in employers leaving America for countries that allow them to do business, government intrusiveness reaching extremes undreamt of by Stalin, Keith Olbermann's puppeteers at GE raking in $zillions of ill-gotten loot, and energy costs shooting through the stratosphere — all in the name of a "crisis" that provably does not exist.

Had they voted on the side of sanity and freedom against rapidly encroaching totalitarianism, the insanity of Cap and Tax would be over. Instead, pending Senate approval, we will have the largest tax increase in American history, right in the heart of a deep recession. The inevitable effect will be as intended: a depression. People struggling to feed themselves are easy people to control.

But moonbattery means progressing beyond old-fangled notions of freedom and dignity.

The free market creates competition, so that the interests of consumers have to be taken into account. This sort of behavior would drive a private facility out of business in no time. But the government offers no alternatives. If consumers don't like the "free" healthcare financed with their exorbitant taxes, they can shut up and die.

ABC's ObamaCare Infomercial Was a Flop

At least no one can accuse ABC News of sacrificing what little remains of its credibility for the sake of ratings. The network's pathetic infomercial for Obama's bid to seize control of the healthcare industry — from which both Republicans and paid opposition advertising were locked out — was a total flop:

The one-hour ABC News special "Primetime: Questions for the President: Prescription for America" (4.7 million viewers, 1.1 preliminary adults 18-49 rating) had the fewest viewers in the 10 p.m. hour (against NBC's "The Philanthropist" debut and a repeat of "CSI: NY" on CBS). The special tied some 8 p.m. comedy repeats as the lowest-rated program on a major broadcast network.

Hyping the program with a BHO interview on "Good Morning America" wasn't enough to convince viewers to waste an hour being blatantly lied to on the topic of why they should let power-mad socialists take away their healthcare.

What a surprise:

House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers Jr. has backed off his plan to investigate wrongdoing by the liberal activist group ACORN, saying "powers that be" put the kibosh on the idea.
Mr. Conyers, Michigan Democrat, earlier bucked his party leaders by calling for hearings on accusations the Association of Community Organization for Reform Now (ACORN) has committed crimes ranging from voter fraud to a mob-style "protection" racket.

Evidently "powers that be" is a reference to Chairman Zero, who worked with ACORN to coerce banks into giving race-based mortgages (thus helping bring about the financial crisis), and who plans to use the ACORN thugs he personally trained to create phony numbers for the 2010 Census, which will result in more Congressional seats for Democrats, and more taxpayer $billions showered upon BHO's Dumpster-dwelling base. The word "corrupt" doesn't even begin to describe the Obamination regime.

Too bad for Conyers he can't kill investigations into the behavior of his wife Monica, Detroit City Council President Pro Tem, who has pled guilty to felony bribery. But compared to what's going on in the District of Criminals, the Conyers' malfeasance is hardly worth mentioning.

Bureaucrats Find Canterbury Sufficiently Depraved

This ought to come as a big relief: council inspectors have ruled that Canterbury is sufficiently homosexual.

A government watchdog decided that Canterbury in Kent does enough to promote homosexual culture, rejecting a complaint by local activists. …
As part of the investigation, the council had to prove its inclusiveness by giving details of "touring plays and musicals, for example, which would be of interest to the LGBT community".
And it had to show that it had "put forward suggestions for small events that it might help fund, as well as proposals for other events such as exhibitions".

It would be wise to keep children far away from these taxpayer-funded "exhibitions."

The two-month investigation was the result of a letter from homosexual activists complaining that the town doesn't spend enough of other people's money promoting their favorite form of degeneracy — despite this:

Chief executive Colin Carmichael said it had provided Pride in Canterbury [a militant homosexual group] with more than £4,000 funding since 2005 to help identify the needs of the homosexual community and promote their concerns.

To forestall future difficulties, Canterbury bureaucrats might want to fling a few £thousand at the needs and concerns of the pederast community. Maybe they could fund a giant statue of Michael Jackson.

Today Dems are trying to pass what may be the largest tax hike in American history, a "cap and trade" bill that would impose a multi-$trillion energy tax during a severe recession and destroy an estimated 2.7 million jobs.

The result of this becoming law would be inevitable: an economic depression. Democrats are deliberately attempting to recreate their glory days of the 1930s. Your children growing up in poverty is a price they're willing to pay.

The kakistocracy is counting on us not to realize what it's doing. Showing Congresscritters that we aren't the hapless sheep they take us for could have a highly beneficial impact on their votes. Even the good guys in Congress need to know that we have their backs. Anyone who doesn't want America deliberately reduced to a Third World country in the name of the farcical global warming hoax is urged to find their rep's website at and fire off a note. Here's a good sample letter:

Dear Congressperson:
Cap and Trade is simply "Cap and Tax". It will kill economic growth at a critical time in our nation's recovery process. Even Warren Buffett, a top Obama supporter, agrees that our economy is in shambles. This energy tax will not only devastate American competitiveness, but it will be passed on to consumers and raise everyday living costs, especially for the middle class and poor who are already struggling.
What's more, the plan is absurd in that it does not take into account the growing scientific skepticism surrounding the AGW issue.
Please vote NO on the Cap and Trade bill!

Keep the letters respectful and calm, and keep them coming. Our rulers still fear us a little. We blocked their last attempt at amnesty, we can block this.

Keith Olbermann: Far Below Mark Sanford

Pretty much everyone is disgusted with Mark Sanford's appalling weakness and irresponsibility. But the disgraced governor has a long way to go before he hits bottom. At least Sanford was in love with his mistress, in contrast to Bill Clinton, who has always been known to chase anything in a skirt with no more affection than a dog smelling a bitch in heat. To get an idea of just how deep the bottom is, here's Keith Olbermann, smirking and snickering over heartfelt love letters as he reads Sanford's private emails on national television (no need to watch more than you can stomach):

What's this? It seems Olbermann has romantic issues too:

"I pretended he knew what he was doing," the embittered blogger writes. "I adored the guy. I didn't want him to think he was a dud in bed," so she faked experiencing ecstasy.
Next, he piled on excuses as to why he had to leave. … Six days later, she claims, Olbermann e-mailed her to tell her never to contact him again.

Compared with Olbermann, Mark Sanford is a prince.

The gunman who fatally shot a Houston police officer in the back before being gunned down by another officer during an undercover sting late Tuesday is believed to have been an illegal immigrant from Mexico, law enforcement officials said Wednesday.
Robert Rutt, agent in charge of the U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement office of criminal investigations in Houston, confirmed that Houston police had asked for assistance in determining the immigration status of the gunman shot to death in a drug store parking lot after officer Henry Canales, 42, was fatally wounded.
Preliminary autopsy results show Canales was shot in the back, prosecutors said today.
"Based purely on name and date of birth checks we ran, we find no records of him in our databases, and him being born in Mexico it appears he was here illegally," Rutt said. …
Rutt said a fingerprint check on three companions of the gunman — arrested shortly after Canales was slain — showed they are in the country illegally.

Illegal aliens shooting police officers has been an ongoing problem in Houston.

Since the murder of Houston police officer Rodney Johnson in 2006 by an illegal immigrant with a criminal record, the union has pushed for more authority to question residents about their citizenship during criminal investigations. In March, veteran HPD officer Rick Salter was shot in the face while serving a search warrant on a previously deported criminal immigrant, injuries that have left him blind in one eye and paralyzed on one side.

However, Chairman Zero is on the case. He is "laying the political groundwork for sweeping immigration legislation" — meaning that soon amnesty will erase the distinction between law-abiding immigrants and the criminals who wreak havoc after illegally sneaking into our country. Abracadabra: no more police shot by illegal aliens!

You've got to say this for Comrade Obama: he looks out for his own. He may leave his brother to rot in a tiny shack on less than $1/month and his illegal alien aunt to subsist in public housing while he lives like a czar. But when it comes to his ideological brethren, he can be very generous — with our money, of course. For example, he has committed $73 million in tax loot to the demonic regime in Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe is run by socialist looters, brutally hostile to Caucasians, whose monetary policy consists of adding more and more zeros to the currency. You can see why Chairman Zero would have a soft spot for them.

The village of Takotna is getting a new $21 million airport, which translates to almost $500,000 per person in the small Bush village about 300 miles west of Fairbanks.
The state Department of Transportation and Public Facilities received a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to build the airport.

Takotna already has an airport, but the new one will be twice as big.

All of a sudden agents in black uniforms and helmets carrying batons broke the door and entered. We tried to hide behind the big trash bin at the end of the parking but one of them saw us, whistled and informed the rest of them who were just leaving the parking. It was just baton strikes all over my body after that, and we were transferred to the minus 4 level of Ministry of Intelligence building. …
One of them asked me if Mr. Khatami would come save us, while they were breaking my fingers and cutting the finger webs. Although I swore a thousand times that I had not voted and had never participated in any demonstration, they didn't care and just kept beating me hard. I fainted once or twice but there were some of us who fainted every time their bones were broken, and as soon as they gained their consciousness, the riot police started beating them again. …

Around 2 AM, they took us to a police hospital where they just stitched the web of my fingers that were still bleeding and bandaged my head without any stitches. They released us in a highway, I think they knew we did nothing; otherwise they would not release us.

If that's how the Iranian regime treats innocent bystanders, imagine what those considered leaders of the protests are experiencing.

But on the positive side, Comrade Obama has finally been shamed into siding with the protestors, and has even rescinded his invitation to have Ahmadinejad's goons attend Fourth of July celebrations.

Naked Moonbats Save Planet by Avoiding Soap

Many moonbats ask themselves, "What can I do to save the polar bears from the apocryphal global warming crisis?" Here's an idea I hope they don't try: go around naked.

Spending more time with nothing on stems waste and pollution in all sorts of ways, according to an article by Kathy Blanchard on The Naturist Society's Web site.
"Living more hours naked each day results in a dramatic drop in my laundry, which in turn reduces my water and energy use (along with my related bills)," Ms. Blanchard wrote. "It also reduces the amount of soap I release, in my case, into the Puget Sound."

Unless you're a polar bear, Ms. Blanchard's aversion to soap is all the more reason to wish she'd put her clothes on.

Ms. Blanchard recommends "naturist holidays." If you would like to save the planet from carbon emissions by vacationing naked, you can get on a big old carbon-belching jet and fly across the ocean.

France is already a top destination for "textilists" (a term some naturists use to describe clothes-wearers) but also seems to be one of the most appealing spots for vacationing in the buff. According to the tourist authority in the Aquitaine region on the French Atlantic coast, " 'green' naturism is growing fast in popularity."

Switzerland is another favorite.

In the Swiss Alps, nude hiking in winter seems to be a growing phenomenon — although some locals are trying to outlaw the practice…

Don't let it get you down that walking around with no clothes on might not prevent natural climate fluctuations. If the cooling trend we've had for the last 11 years reverses and it actually does start to get warmer, you'll be all the comfier in your birthday suit.

Teens Paid by State Not to Get Pregnant

Comrade Obama's friends in the abortion industry aren't going to like this. North Carolina taxpayers are giving teenagers $1/day to refrain from getting pregnant:

The group College-Bound Sisters was founded at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro by Hazel Brown, a maternity nurse who thought too many teens were having babies.
Brown said she hopes the program, which pays $1 each day to 12-to-18-year-old girls, will keep them from getting pregnant. In addition to remaining pregnancy-free, the girls must also attend weekly meetings.
The program is funded by a four-year grant from the state. …
Some recent graduates earned more than $2,000 and are an inspiration to those still in the program.

A drawback is that the program is only affective with those too clueless to realize that the government will pay you hundreds of dollars a week if you do get pregnant, so long as you aren't foolish enough to become married or employed.

Morality was a lot cheaper than moonbattery. But it is irrelevant in the Age of Obama, because it can't be purchased by the government with our money.

Two U.S. Democratic lawmakers want Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to relax recently tightened standards for mortgages on new condominiums, saying they could threaten the viability of some developments and slow the housing-market recovery, the Wall Street Journal said.

Representatives Barney Frank (D-MA) and Anthony Weiner (D-NY) denounced the standards as "too onerous."

Readers will recall that it was Democrats imposing lax standards at Fannie and Freddie in the name of "social justice" that caused this whole mess in the first place.

Senate Kills Bill Extolling "Crucial Services" of Big Abortion

Even this Senate gets some things right: it has shot down an attempt to exploit Tiller the Baby Killer's death in a resolution praising the infanticide industry.

The resolution, sponsored by Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Barbara Boxer (D-CA), and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), decried violence against "providers of health care services to women" and asserted, "there is a history of violence against providers of reproductive health care, as health care employees have suffered threats and hostility in order to provide crucial services to patients."
The resolution failed to gather adequate support after Shaheen refused requests by some of her colleagues to strike the language celebrating the abortion industry. Shaheen expressed frustration at the resolution's demise.

Maybe Shaheen can vent some of her frustration by funneling still more of our money into the deep pockets of Planned Parenthood.

Old Bills Coming Due in California

There's always a price to be paid for moonbattery. In California, a bill is coming due after ten years:

A milestone on California's meandering journey toward fiscal insolvency occurred exactly a decade ago when the Legislature enacted a massive increase in state employee pensions on the expedient assumption that it would cost taxpayers nothing.
Although the new pensions would generate almost countless billions of dollars in extra income for retirees in the years ahead, the CalPERS board, dominated by union representatives, told legislators that taxpayers wouldn't have to bear the load because investment income, which was flowing into the pension trust fund from high-tech stocks, would continue indefinitely.

Surprise: that didn't happen.

CalPERS' investments have dropped by nearly a third and the state is paying more than $3 billion a year into the pension fund, nearly 10 times what it paid a decade ago when CalPERS made its bogus assertion to lawmakers.

Some retired state workers are collecting over 100% of their salaries, while the state searches under the sofa cushions for change.

Maybe handing over total control of the economy to unions and bureaucrats isn't such a great idea after all.

Stimulus Job Creation Discriminates Against Men

Democrats are feminizing America in more ways than one:

A "man-cession." That's what some economists are starting to call it. Of the 5.7 million jobs Americans lost between December 2007 and May 2009, nearly 80 percent had been held by men. Mark Perry, an economist at the University of Michigan, characterizes the recession as a "downturn" for women but a "catastrophe" for men.
Men are bearing the brunt of the current economic crisis because they predominate in manufacturing and construction, the hardest-hit sectors, which have lost more than 3 million jobs since December 2007. Women, by contrast, are a majority in recession-resistant fields such as education and health care, which gained 588,000 jobs during the same period. Rescuing hundreds of thousands of unemployed crane operators, welders, production line managers, and machine setters was never going to be easy. But the concerted opposition of several powerful women's groups has made it all but impossible. Consider what just happened with the $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
Last November, President-elect Obama addressed the devastation in the construction and manufacturing industries by proposing an ambitious New Deal-like program to rebuild the nation's infrastructure. He called for a two-year "shovel ready" stimulus program to modernize roads, bridges, schools, electrical grids, public transportation, and dams and made reinvigorating the hardest-hit sectors of the economy the goal of the legislation that would become the recovery act.

But then the shrill feminazis at groups like NOW complained to Comrade Obama about jobs going to "burly men." So…

He changed his plan. He added health, education, and other human infrastructure components to the proposal. And he tasked Christina Romer and Jared Bernstein, Joseph Biden's chief economist, with preparing an extraordinary report that calculated not only the number of jobs the plan would likely create, but the gender composition of the various employment sectors and the division of largess between women and men.
Romer and Bernstein delivered "The Job Impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan" on January 10. They estimated that "the total number of created jobs likely to go to women is roughly 42 percent." Lest anyone miss the point, they added that since women had held only 20 percent of the jobs lost in the recession, the stimulus package now "skews job creation somewhat towards women."

Tough luck for the guys — all the tougher if they're Caucasian guys, as Obama economic advisor Robert Reich made clear:

The free market doesn't care what color or gender you are, so long as you can do the job. But the government sure does.

Archbishop George Niederauer Wins Pink Brick

Congratulations to Archbishop George Niederauer, who beat out Carrie Prejean to win the coveted Pink Brick award, which was granted by militant homosexuals who continue to throw tantrums over the passage of Prop 8, banning the sacrilege of homosexual "marriage":

At the urging of a member of Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, the San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration Committee has voted to dishonor Archbishop George Niederauer with a "Pink Brick" award for causing "significant harm to the LGBT community."
The decision was spurred by Matt Dorsey, a member of the Parish Council at San Francisco's 'gay friendly' Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. …
Archbishop Niederauer was singled out for his support last year of Proposition 8, the successful initiative constitutional amendment adopted by voters restricting marriage to between one man and one woman and later upheld by the California Supreme Court. "We hope that with this Pink Brick, we can educate the community about Archbishop Niederauer's work to deny LGBT couples equal protection under the law," Mikayla Connell, president of the Pride Celebration Committee told the Reporter. "Archbishop Niederauer's support of Proposition 8, which is not representative of all faith communities or even of all Catholics, has only served to harm LGBT families, many of whom are Catholic themselves."

If you can even begin to get your head around the concept of Catholic lesbian-gay-bisexual-transvestite "families," you shouldn't have taken that extra hit of LSD.

Niederauer stands accused of being "divisive" and "hurtful" for not turning against the Vatican and making a depraved farce of his own religion. Worse yet, he is said to have conspired with Mormons to work against the mainstreaming of homosexual depravity. Apparently it's not enough that Niederauer once gave holy communion to a pair of transvestites dressed up as nuns.

Hopefully someone will learn a lesson about letting militant perverts infiltrate parish councils.

In this country, most of us are Caucasians; our rulers side against Caucasians. Most of us are Christians; our rulers side against Christians. The vast majority of us are Americans; our rulers side against Americans. All of us are humans, so it should come as no surprise that our rulers are siding against humans in the San Joaquin Valley, where bureauweenies are deliberately reducing some of the best farmland on the planet into a dustbowl on behalf of some useless minnow.

Teachers Kill Time on Your Dime in Rubber Rooms

Ever wonder why we spend more and more and more on education, and yet kids keep learning less? Here's a clue:

Hundreds of New York City public school teachers accused of offenses ranging from insubordination to sexual misconduct are being paid their full salaries to sit around all day playing Scrabble, surfing the Internet or just staring at the wall, if that's what they want to do.
Because their union contract makes it extremely difficult to fire them, the teachers have been banished by the school system to its "rubber rooms" — off-campus office space where they wait months, even years, for their disciplinary hearings.
The 700 or so teachers can practice yoga, work on their novels, paint portraits of their colleagues — pretty much anything but school work. They have summer vacation just like their classroom colleagues and enjoy weekends and holidays through the school year. …
Because the teachers collect their full salaries of $70,000 or more, the city Department of Education estimates the practice costs the taxpayers $65 million a year. The department blames union rules.

Teachers goof around in the rubber rooms for as long as six years. Some have been known to hang out all day in nearby bars. Others play dominoes, sleep, sell real estate, "or teach each other yoga and tai chi."

It's sort of peaceful knowing that you're going to work to do nothing.

Number 1: Less access to timely health care, especially by trained specialists
Number 2: Less access to state-of-the-art drugs that are proven to cure serious diseases, like cancer
Number 3: Less access to modern medical technologies that lead to earlier diagnoses, safer treatments, and better outcomes
Number 4: Less access to choice of doctor and choice of treatments for patients and families
Number 5: Less access to choice of health insurance coverage

So far most of the damage Obama has done to the country has been reversible. But as any Briton can tell you, that won't be the case after he has seized control of the healthcare industry on behalf of Big Government.

A follow-up on today's story of moonbat gossip blogger Perez Hilton's bitch slapping:

The aggressively homosexual gossip blogger has been called upon by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation to apologize for hurling anti-gay slurs at of the Black Eyed Peas.

Lisps GLAAD's Rashad Robinson:

These are vulgar anti-gay slurs that feed a climate of hatred and intolerance toward our community. For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is, quote, "The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear," is incredibly dangerous. It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting anti-gay attitudes.
We have reached out to Hilton and asked him to apologize for promoting this anti-gay slur, and we would ask media outlets to avoid repetition of the slur in their coverage of this story.

Hilton must have called him something really awful, like "Perez Hilton."

The reason Comrade Obama has vacillated over whether he's on the side of Iran's terrorist dictatorship or those rising up against it is simple: he sides with the former, but knows that admitting it openly would steepen the decline of his approval ratings. No one with even half a clue expected Obama to confront America's enemies; he was elected because he's the kind of guy who could get along with them. Voters got what they wanted — Obama is on such good terms with Ahmadinejad's regime that he still wants to picnic with his goons in DC in desecration of the Fourth of July, despite the bloodshed on Iran's streets:

Belligerently homosexual gossip blogger Mario Lavandeira made his pseudonym Perez Hilton a household name by laying a trap for Carrie Prejean that forced her to publicly endorse depraved homosexual marriages or sacrifice her beauty queen crown. Now he's back in the news, after running to the police about a minor bitch slapping he received from Polo Molina, manager of the Black Eyed Peas.

The Jawa Report comments:

Perez says he was "hit from behind" yet there's the "injury" under his eye there. And calling the law after a little scuffle, especially one where it looks like maybe you scratched yourself, is the highest form of wussery, even for gay men. Even 99 percent of little girls would brush that off as nothing.

But to an attention whore, no publicity is bad publicity.

Millionaire's Middle School Moonbat Mosaic

Anyone who tries to raise children in the moonbat mecca Berkeley should be warned that taking them out of public school is no guarantee of protection from brainwashing with corrosive hard left ideology. Zombie took some pictures of a mosaic created by the 7th and 8th grade students at the extremely pricey Black Pine Circle School, reputedly one of the better private schools in the area. A sample:


Another tile, intended as a student's personal statement, features a marijuana leaf.

As Zombie notes, the "mosaic essentially acts as an advertisement for the school on its front wall." She also observes that

Thirteen-year-olds don't come up with this stuff themselves.

The school's mission statement declares:

The ideal BPC student will be maximally free of all the "isms" which pervade most aspects of the world around them: from racism to sexism to the less obvious forms of discrimination.

Good thing "moonbattery" doesn't end in "ism."

Things sure have changed since the 1970s. Back then, moonbats were screeching about an impending ice age instead of global warming. Another example: now we're told there is no free will when it comes to sexual matters. Homosexuals are born that way, and it's a thought crime to suggest they have any choice but to yield to their perverse urges. Yet in Angry Wimmin, an episode in the documentary series Lefties, feminazi Julie Bindel let loose with this:

What I could never understand — and I did resent — was [heterosexual feminists] going home to men at night. It just seemed such a contradiction. And often I would get very angry when I would challenge them about this, and they would say, "Well, that's just the way I am. I just don't fancy women." Having no understanding at all of the fact that sexuality is a social construct and that we all make choices depending on the way we want to live and the world that we want to see.

Pillars of the community aren't what they once were, now that we're living in a twilight zone of degenerate moonbattery. For example, consider the mayor of a small town in central Florida

The attack allegedly happened on a peaceful street in Mulberry early Friday morning inside the home of Mayor Julian Mullis. It's a home he shares with his two kids and 29-year-old Eugene Ornelas.
Mullis told police that he and Ornelas are in a relationship and live together as a family unit.
Things got heated, though, when Ornelas brought a stranger home from a club at five in the morning. Steve Peacock is the Interim Chief of Police in Mulberry and says, "It was Mr. Ornelas, who I guess lost his cool somehow, and began throwing articles inside the residence and attempted to strike Mr. Mullis at one point but missed." …
Ornelas was arrested and charged with domestic violence. It's not the first time he's been in trouble with the law. He's faced a DUI, possession of a controlled substance and battery charge in the past.
On his Twitter page, Ornelas writes about watching the kids and cleaning the kitchen while he waits for Julian and he also makes an appeal for his Twitter friends to vote for him by providing a link to Rupaul's Drag Race casting page.

Mr. Ornelas is also known by his stage name Chyna Ice, under which he performs as a "drag artist." Here he is in action:

Despite the relentless media hype, deliberate suppression of negative information, and industrial-scale brainwashing to make us subconsciously feel it is "racist" to disapprove of anyone black, Chairman Zero's honeymoon has already ended, with his approval index going into negative territory after only a few months in office. From Rasmussen:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 33% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-four percent (34%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -1. Today is the second straight day the President's rating has been below zero (see trends).

However, Comrade Obama did manage to pull his numbers up from -2 yesterday. He must have gotten a bounce from the doting CBS scoop about him feeding his dog pumpkin-flavored ice cream while protestors die in Iran without even moral support.

Moonbat insanity has now guaranteed that terrorists fighting our troops in Afghanistan will hide behind civilians:

The top U.S. general in Afghanistan will soon formally order U.S. and NATO forces to break away from fights with militants hiding in Afghan houses so the battles do not kill civilians, a U.S. official said Monday. …
Gen. Stanley McChrystal, who took command of international forces in Afghanistan this month, has said his measure of effectiveness will be the "number of Afghans shielded from violence," and not the number of militants killed.

Maybe he got the idea from Chairman Zero measuring his economic performance by the fictional number of "jobs saved."

McChrystal will issue orders within days saying troops may attack insurgents hiding in Afghan houses if the U.S. or NATO forces are in imminent danger and must return fire, said U.S. military spokesman Rear Adm. Greg Smith.
"But if there is a compound they're taking fire from and they can remove themselves from the area safely, without any undue danger to the forces, then that's the option they should take," Smith said. "Because in these compounds we know there are often civilians kept captive by the Taliban."

No doubt liberals will praise this enlightened policy, which will level the playing field by allowing Taliban terrorists to kill without fear of consequence, so long as they take cover behind the skirts of civilians.

Obama's old friends at ACORN are beginning to feel the heat, as their corrupt and antidemocratic activities become public knowledge despite the mainstream media's lack of interest. The group that helped cause the mortgage meltdown with BHO's help is suing whistleblowers and changing its name:

Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN) leaders are using the threat of a law suit to silence and intimidate critics, according to current and former members of the liberal activist group.
In a letter dated June 11 an attorney for ACORN advised top whistleblowers that their unauthorized use of the organization's name could make them liable for monetary damages and injunctive relief.
ACORN executives have also changed their organization's name, which was tarnished by investigations in at least 14 states of allegations of voter registration fraud during the 2008 presidential campaign, and charges by current and former members of financial mismanagement and misrepresentation.

ACORN International has already become Community Organizations International. However, the fascistic tactics and lavish government funding are likely to remain unchanged.

There isn't much that moonbats won't tax in the name of the farcical global warming hoax — including farts:

A tax on bovine emissions could hurt American farmers and consumers, House Select Energy Independence and Global Warming Committee Ranking Member James Sensenbrenner (R-Wisc.) warned Tuesday.
Sensenbrenner condemned a proposed tax from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on cattle and some pigs on the basis of those animals' methane emissions, which contribute in part to global climate change.

As Sensenbrenner observes,

This cow fart tax shows how outrageous the whole global warming and climate change debate is. …the average Joe, when he goes to the supermarket and buys any kind of dairy product or beef or pork is going to end up paying through the nose to pay for the cow fart tax.

Cow fart taxes are only the beginning of the economically crippling insanity that will inevitably result from the Supremes' declaration that alleged "greenhouse gases" are pollutants subject to EPA suppression.

Meanwhile, it has now been 11 years since it got any warmer, despite the undertaxed cow farts.

Funny, this never caused a climate catastrophe before.

A few years ago Lech Walesa, leader of the Solidarity movement that rebelled against communism in Poland, published a grateful editorial entitled "Remembering Reagan":

When talking about Ronald Reagan, I have to be personal. We in Poland took him so personally. Why? Because we owe him our liberty. This can't be said often enough by people who lived under oppression for half a century, until communism fell in 1989.
Poles fought for their freedom for so many years that they hold in special esteem those who backed them in their struggle. Support was the test of friendship. President Reagan was such a friend. His policy of aiding democratic movements in Central and Eastern Europe in the dark days of the Cold War meant a lot to us. We knew he believed in a few simple principles such as human rights, democracy and civil society. He was someone who was convinced that the citizen is not for the state, but vice-versa, and that freedom is an innate right.
I often wondered why Ronald Reagan did this, taking the risks he did, in supporting us at Solidarity, as well as dissident movements in other countries behind the Iron Curtain, while pushing a defense buildup that pushed the Soviet economy over the brink. Let's remember that it was a time of recession in the U.S. and a time when the American public was more interested in their own domestic affairs. It took a leader with a vision to convince them that there are greater things worth fighting for. …
I distinguish between two kinds of politicians. There are those who view politics as a tactical game, a game in which they do not reveal any individuality, in which they lose their own face. There are, however, leaders for whom politics is a means of defending and furthering values. For them, it is a moral pursuit. They do so because the values they cherish are endangered. They're convinced that there are values worth living for, and even values worth dying for. Otherwise they would consider their life and work pointless. Only such politicians are great politicians and Ronald Reagan was one of them. …
As I say repeatedly, we owe so much to all those who supported us. Perhaps in the early years, we didn't express enough gratitude. We were so busy introducing all the necessary economic and political reforms in our reborn country. Dems Prepare Taxes for Launch Into Stratosphere

Remember when the Moonbat Messiah was promising repeatedly that he would cut taxes for 95% of Americans? Apparently, some actually believed him, and didn't have the decency to care what outrageous injustices were inflicted on the other 5%, who would be made to pay for BHO's extravagant socialist policies. But what goes around comes around. To the surprise of no one with an IQ above 80, Chairman Zero will be jacking taxes through the ceiling on all of us:

House Democrats have lots of potential targets for higher taxes as they aim to expand health care coverage to reach the roughly 50 million that experts say are uninsured.
Also under consideration are higher alcohol taxes, increases to the Medicare payroll tax and a value-added tax, a sort of national sales tax, of up to 1.5 percent or more.

A value-added tax would hit every American who buys or sells anything. Obama et al. are also thinking about a 10¢ per can tax on "sugary drinks," taxing employer-provided health insurance benefits, and of course, further looting "the rich," who need to have money to spend and invest if the economy is to recover.

If this sounds bad, wait until the cap and trade lunacy effectively results in massive energy taxes, which will also hurt each and every one of us, including the fools who voted this socialist regime into office.

PETA Recruits Che Guevara's Granddaughter

Whether you're talking about killing people by the thousands on behalf of a communist dictatorship or demanding that people stop eating the meat their bodies require for good health, moonbattery is all one swamp. For example, PETA is now exploiting the granddaughter of Castro's infamous chief executioner for its anti-food propaganda campaigns:

Che Guevara was one of the most profoundly evil psychopaths in the history of totalitarianism. He was known to personally execute children. For generations, he has personified anti-Americanism. All this gives his granddaughter a great deal of cachet among liberals.

Bill Ayers Influence on Obama Goes Back to Grade School

To become Lord of the Moonbats, you have to get off to an early start. The offspring of a hippy and an African socialist, Obama was steeped in moonbattery from his conception. Now we learn that his connection with unrepentant communist terrorist Bill Ayers goes back to age 11:

While Obama's membership as an adult in the controversial Trinity United Church of Christ has received widespread media attention, almost nothing has been reported about his Sunday school attendance at First Unitarian, a far-left activist church that may have helped provide the president's initial political education.
First Unitarian, a member of the Unitarian Universalist denomination, served as a sanctuary for draft dodgers and was strongly tied to the Students for a Democratic Society, or SDS, during the time Weatherman radical Bill Ayers was a leader in that organization. The Weathermen was an offshoot of the SDS.

As you'll recall, Obama declared that Ayers' political mentorship wasn't relevant, since Ayers committed his terrorist acts when BHO was a child, before realizing that he could inflict more damage on the country by subverting the education establishment — and by nurturing the political career of a certain radical leftist who is currently steering us toward economic ruin. But even as a little boy, the Moonbat Messiah's worldview was molded by Ayers and his ilk.

Today's least surprising story might help explain why ABC News is willing to sacrifice whatever credibility it has left by turning its newscast into an infomercial in support of Obama's attempt to seize control of the healthcare industry, refusing even to accept paid advertising that might allow the opposition to get its point of view heard, tailspinning ratings be damned:

At ABC, Obama supporters outnumbered McCain supporters 33 to 1. In terms of contributions, they gave $160,000 to B. Hussein, $5,000 to McCain.

Expecting objectivity from networks staffed and run almost entirely by moonbats may be a little unrealistic.

As a result of catastrophic climate change, MIT physicist and global warming skeptic Richard Lindzen has been unable to get his burnt rug appraised.

Lindzen is an accomplished guy. From his bio:

British Police Asked to Provide Criminals With Treadmills

Britain has gone downhill awfully quickly since it succumbed to moonbattery, but it's still a great place — for criminals. Their latest privilege:

People detained by police for longer than 36 hours should have access to an exercise treadmill, a Criminal Justice Inspection report has suggested.
The report said the police should consider installing a machine at Antrim Police Station which is used to question suspects about serious crimes.

It's not just treadmills that Britain's moonbat rulers deem to be needed.

They pointed out that no copies of the Qu'ran or other religious texts were available and that there were no directional arrows pointing to Mecca.

Don't forget prayer rugs. If the terrorists vacationing at Club Gitmo get these goodies, the Muslim colonists displacing the sad remnants of Britain deserve them too.

Media Erases Chairman Zero's Single-Payer Slip

You'll find this line in the official transcript of Chairman Zero's speech to the AMA, but not in any major newspapers. CNS News reports:

A search of the the terms "Obama," "single-payer," and "pretty well" in the "Major Newspapers" file of Nexis turned up no hits as of 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 16.

Several papers took quotes from immediately before and after, but the single-payer line was expunged. You see, we are supposed to believe that "healthcare reform" is not the same thing as "single-payer" healthcare, which is a euphemism for government seizure of the entire industry.

How convenient for Comrade Obama that when he lets slip what anyone paying attention knows he's really up to, his toadies in the media immediately erase the mistake, like Winston Smith stuffing politically inconvenient documents down the memory hole.

How is it possible? No one watches the servile government propaganda passed off by ABC as news? Knowing this can't be right, ABC has demanded a probe into evening news ratings:

ABC News is crying foul over a report that says "World News" most likely had its smallest audience ever.
The network has asked Nielsen Media Research to investigate. The company initially reported that a little more than 4 million people watched "World News" last Friday, the first night of the digital switch over.
Usually, more than 7 million watch the ABC broadcast on Fridays. ABC says a drop-off from the average could have been expected, especially given the slow summer season, but a disappearance of 3 million people didn't make any sense.

Here's a clue: people don't like being fed BS by government apparatchiks. ABC News will be operating out of the White House to help sell Comrade Obama's socialized medicine power grab, and throwing all subtlety to the winds, not only won't let Republican views be heard in their coverage, but won't even accept paid advertising from those who resist the nationalization of the healthcare industry.

Maybe Rowan Williams has finally figured out that pandering to Muslims is not going to reverse the Church of England's headlong decline. Now he's pandering to moonbats and teenyboppers:

They are then asked to approach the altar and rub sea salt on their fingers to represent tears, before walking around and meditating at eight "prayer stations" representing themes such as "gender equality" and "environmental sustainability".
A psalm is recited in "beat poetry" style to the accompaniment of African Djembe drums, and prayers are said "for the corporate world, for influential CEOs who oversee billion-dollar industries".

It's just not a proper church service without a little music from a moonbatty pop band:

Among the alternative services explored in the book … are so-called "U2charists", services in which the congregation receives communion but sings the songs of the Irish rock band U2 instead of traditional hymns. …

Here's an idea: why doesn't the church hold rave parties, with ecstasy and grape-flavored vodka for the Eucharist? The priest can strip down to his undies, smear himself with body paint, and crowd surf under pulsating disco lights.

Uh oh, here comes a party pooper. The prebendary at St Paul's Cathedral Rev. David Houlding laments,

All this is tosh. It's just a passing fad, irrelevant, shallow and pointless. There's no depth to it and it's embarrassing because it'll make people think that we're eccentric and silly.

As a result of Fresh Expressions, there are now churches for surfers, and priests have been commissioned to work in night clubs and skateboard parks. Maybe the Founding Fathers knew what they were doing when they proscribed an official state church.

A Christian man was stoned to death in Pakistan for drinking tea from a roadside stall designated for Muslims.
According to International Christian Concern (ICC) the man, Ishtiaq Masih, had ordered tea at a stall in Machharkay village, Punjab, Pakistan, after his bus stopped to allow passengers to relieve themselves.
When Ishtiaq went to pay for his tea, the owner noticed that he was wearing a necklace with a cross and grabbed him, calling for his employees to bring anything available to beat him for violating a sign posted on the stall warning non-Muslims to declare their religion before being served.
Ishtiaq had not noticed the warning sign before ordering his tea, as he ordered with a group of his fellow passengers.
Witnesses claim the owner and 14 of his employees beat Ishtiaq with stones, iron rods and clubs, and stabbed him multiple times with kitchen knives as Ishtiaq pleaded for mercy.

But don't forget, Christianity is even worse than Islam. Just ask any moonbat.

FBI Investigating Obama Friend Kevin Johnson's Mess

It may be a little late for Chairman Zero to fire (illegally) Gerald Walpin on behalf of his corrupt supporter Kevin Johnson, whose can of worms remains open and wriggling:

The FBI's Sacramento division is investigating a former St. HOPE executive's allegations of obstruction of justice, Acting U.S. Attorney Lawrence G. Brown confirmed Tuesday.
The news fuels the controversy that has followed Mayor Kevin Johnson since 2008, when his brainchild St. HOPE Academy first was investigated for misuse of public funds.
That investigation appeared to end in April when Brown's office announced a settlement with Johnson, St. HOPE and former executive director Dana Gonzalez.
The settlement, hotly contested by the office of the inspector general for the federal Corporation for National and Community Service, required the repayment of more than $400,000 in misused grants for AmeriCorps volunteers.
However, Rick Maya, who officially left his position as executive director with St. HOPE last week, alleged in an April resignation letter that a member of the charter schools' board deleted Johnson's e-mails during the federal investigation.

Complains Maya:

We had to pay thousands of dollars to recover the information deleted from our e-mail system as a result of this highly inappropriate and potentially unlawful incursion into our e-mail system. We are still unsure whether all of the deleted information has been recovered.

Unless I dragged in dog-do on my shoe, that must be Obama-style transparency I smell. No wonder Chairman Zero wants Walpin out before he can bring more malfeasance to light.

Dem Senator Objects to Obama's Contempt for Rule of Law

Even Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) — who supported Chairman Zero from the beginning — is appalled at his authoritarian contempt for the rule of law regarding the firing of Gerald Walpin for discovering Obamunist corruption in the process of doing his job. She's issued a statement:

The White House has failed to follow the proper procedure in notifying Congress as to the removal of the Inspector General for the Corporation for National and Community Service. The legislation which was passed last year requires that the president give a reason for the removal. "Loss of confidence" is not a sufficient reason. I'm hopeful the White House will provide a more substantive rationale, in writing, as quickly as possible.

If more Democrats show the courage to put the good of the country ahead of securing their share of Obama's blitzkrieg power grab, we might yet be spared an extremely unpleasant future — and some Dem politicians might be spared the consequences of the inevitable backlash, should America survive Hopey Change.

Discriminating Against Whites "Number One Priority" of Naval Academy

What to do with the most powerful military in history, while we wait for it to rot away under the regime of Hopey Change? Why not use it to advance race-based social engineering:

The Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead announced in Annapolis recently that "diversity is the number one priority" at the Naval Academy.
The Naval Academy superintendent, Vice Adm. Jeffrey Fowler, echoed him. Everyone understands that "diversity" here means nonwhite skins.

Here's how they filter out whites in favor of less qualified nonwhites:

White applicants out of high school who are not also athletic recruits typically need grades of A and B and minimum SAT scores of 600 on each part for the Board to vote them "qualified." Athletics and leadership also count.
A vote of "qualified" for a white applicant doesn't mean s/he's coming, only that he or she can compete to win the "slate" of up to 10 nominations that (most typically) a Congress(wo)man draws up. That means that nine "qualified" white applicants are rejected. SAT scores below 600 or C grades almost always produce a vote of "not qualified" for white applicants.
Not so for an applicant who self-identifies as one of the minorities who are our "number one priority." For them, another set of rules apply. Their cases are briefed separately to the board, and SAT scores to the mid-500s with quite a few Cs in classes (and no visible athletics or leadership) typically produce a vote of "qualified" for them, with direct admission to Annapolis. They're in, and are given a pro forma nomination to make it legit.
Minority applicants with scores and grades down to the 300s with Cs and Ds (and no particular leadership or athletics) also come, though after a remedial year at our taxpayer-supported remedial school, the Naval Academy Preparatory School.
By using NAPS as a feeder, we've virtually eliminated all competition for "diverse" candidates: in theory they have to get a C average at NAPS to come to USNA, but this is regularly re-negotiated.

In short, virtually anyone can get in, unless they're Caucasian, in which case they have to meet stringent requirements. No doubt there is pressure to graduate minorities who should not have been there in the first place, and commission them as naval officers despite their incompetence.

This is why you don't have to be a "racist" to question the competence of minorities in many professions. Whites are there because their qualifications are strong enough to overcome the institutional prejudice against them. The qualifications of nonwhites may end with their skin color.

Professions affected by this phenomenon now include President of the United States.

Over $1 Trillion to Cover One Third of Uninsured

As the iceberg of socialized medicine comes closer to our hull, it becomes increasingly obvious that for any purpose other than bankrupting our country, it simply will not work:

Last evening, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released its first cost-estimate for one of the emerging Democratic bills — the Kennedy-Dodd bill that the Senate HELP Committee is planning to take up this week.
As Yuval [Levin] has already noted, CBO finds that the bill, in its incomplete draft form, would cost a lot — more than $1 trillion — and cover a relatively small portion of the uninsured (about one-third).

As for Dear Leader's gracious promise that we will be permitted to keep our own insurance…

The CBO cost estimate also makes it clear that the president's repeated statement that Americans will get to keep the health insurance they have today is simply not true. CBO projects that some 15 million people would get pushed out of their job-based plans and into the so-called "gateways" run by the states. That number will go much higher when the bill includes the promised "government option."

If the Marxist punk in the White House and his media enablers are able to ram nationalized healthcare through, their work will be essentially finished. The American economy will never recover.

Government to Give Our Money to ChiComs in Name of Global Warming Farce

America is up to its neck in debt to the communist Chinese. But apparently that's no reason for the government not to give them our money for free in the name of the preposterous global warming hoax:

U.S. Special Envoy for Climate Change Todd Stern said that there was "no question" that China would receive both financial and technological assistance from the United States as part of upcoming climate change talks to be conducted in Copenhagen, Denmark.

According to the moonbats who run the UN — and, tragically, our country — China is a "developing" nation, despite a powerhouse economy that is overtaking ours. Therefore it gets free money as part of the "spread the wealth around" scheme that is the climate change farce.

No doubt when the ChiComs are done sniggering at the stupidity of our liberal rulers, they will spend some of the cash continuing to build their navy, so they can fill the power vacuum after America loots itself into economic collapse.

Debt Is Already at $250,000 per American

Every man, woman, and child in America is now a quarter of a million dollars in debt:

David Walker, the former US Comptroller General, says that the federal debt level is approaching $55 trillion and if you add in the what is owed on the state and local levels — plus personal household debt — it adds up to $75 trillion in obligations.
Walker, who now heads the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, named for the co-founder of the Blackstone Group, warned that without fiscal restraint, Uncle Sam may be guaranteeing that our future is not as prosperous as our past.
At the $75 trillion deficit level a family of four owes $1 million, he said.

Thanks to Social Security and Medicare, the debt is automatically growing by $6,600 per year per American. But we'll look back on this mess with nostalgia, when Obama's planned seizure of the entire healthcare industry makes these numbers look manageable.

Remember the transsexual freakazoid in Spain who despite being regarded as a man by the media was able to interrupt her sex change procedures long enough to get pregnant with twins? There's tragic news: Ruben Noe Coronado (née Estefania) has suffered a miscarriage.

But hope still lives for the future family she has planned with her love bunny Esperanza Ruiz:

Coronado had planned to complete the sex-change procedure after the birth of the twins, but is now forced to wait while he [sic] tries again to get pregnant.

The Collins Report will raise the hair on the back of your neck with its analysis of Obama's plans to bulldoze the slums inhabited by his political base:

The headline says, "US cities may have to be bulldozed in order to survive." For whose survival?
Obama's plan to teardown big city slums like Flint and Detroit is just a trick to move Black Democrats to areas where their votes will swing more Congressional seats to the socialists. He couldn't care less about the poor Blacks in these cities; they're only votes to him.
Obama wants to build government housing in the suburbs and move thousands of his Black voters into these new government gulags where their votes will count more. He sees no value in 90% plus Democrat victories in Flint and Detroit when he could move thousands of those votes into nearby Republican held districts in Brighton and Livonia and win them as well.
He will do this and of course we'll pay for his scheme.
Obama won't have to raze suburban homes to do this. He will rely on "White Flight" to clear out the last stubborn pockets of conservatives and let ACORN's urban shock troops do the rest to flip surrounding Republican Congressional seats one by one.
The Leftist media can chase the truth around trying to kill it, but the truth is: Barack Obama is a Marxist. His public consideration of forced relocations, (a policy Karl Marx would see as his "dialectical materialism", using material things to change social policies) is terrifying in the extreme.
America's cities are filled with people who willingly sell their liberty for a few government handouts. When ACORN orders these kneejerk Democrat voters onto buses for forced relocation to suburban Republican districts they will go. They know their "duty" is to vote where they are told as often as ordered to. Obama will be hailed as a great visionary who redesigned America brick by brick and city by city.
If Obama's "shrink to survive" strategy to "save" America is implemented it will give the Democrats a huge advantage that they will never relinquish. This will end the Republican Party and with that, any chance to stop or roll back the damage from Barack Obama.

Population relocations are not a new idea. Obama's predecessors Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot were infamous for imposing them.

We were chased out of our cities, which liberals have made into festering chancres where the Democrat vote approaches 100%. Now we'll be chased out of the suburbs.

Liberals' ultimate objective: turn the whole country into Detroit.

Obama Adopts Healthcare Ideas He Condemned McCain For

Not long ago, the Moonbat Messiah was denouncing John McCain for wanting to finance a healthcare plan with cuts to Medicare and Medicaid:

But now, everything has Changed. From Sunday's Washington Compost:

President Obama yesterday outlined measures to trim spending on federal health programs for the elderly and the poor by an additional $313 billion over the next decade, bringing his total proposed savings close to the amount necessary to cover the cost of his signature health-care plan, a top adviser said.
In his weekly radio address, Obama proposed limiting the growth of Medicare fee-for-service payments, taking hospitals and other health-care providers at their word that they will reduce costs. … The president also called for reducing payments to drug companies that serve Medicare recipients. …
In February, Obama's budget request set aside $635 billion for health-care reform, about half in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid and half in new taxes.

It looks like he will be taxing health benefits too, just like he condemned McCain for wanting to do. Unlike the supposed cuts, the new taxes will be real and sustained.

Remember when Bill Clinton responded to 9/11 with a speech denouncing America and European civilization in general? As a reminder, here's an excerpt:

Government May Seize Land for Islamic 9/11 Memorial

The gargantuan mihrab the government has scene fit to construct as a memorial to Flight 93 for some reason requires 1,500 acres of highly valuable, resource-rich land. The people who own it may not want to sell, considering many regard the memorial as a tribute to the hijackers, not the heroes who prevented them from crashing to plane into the Capitol or White House. But that's okay, the government can just seize the property:

The federal government issued an ultimatum … to people who own land designated for the Flight 93 memorial in Western Pennsylvania: They have one week to reach an agreement on the sale of their land or the government will initiate proceedings to seize it.

Sikhs Want Army Rules Overturned

In the era of Hopey Change, defending the country and winning wars will no longer be priorities for the US military. Instead it will focus on inclusiveness. A first step might be to stop being so fussy about uniform uniforms, especially when Sikhs would rather wear turbans.

Sikhs also refrain from cutting their hair — ever. The Army has been asked to change the rules to accommodate them. Since Sikhs aren't Christians, they will probably get their way.

The British Army allows Sikhs to generally keep their articles of faith. For Sikhs who serve as civilian police officers, The British Police Sikh Association is pushing for development of bulletproof turbans. That would allow Sikhs to be part of firearms units, since safety helmets don't fit over them.

Impossible as it might seem, the farce into which the War on Terror has degenerated under Chairman Zero has become still more absurd. It wasn't enough to give terrorists apprehended on foreign battlefields Miranda rights. Now terrorists can sue Bush Administration lawyers if they feel they weren't coddled with sufficient tenderness. From the Obamedia:

A convicted terrorist can sue a former Bush administration lawyer for drafting the legal theories that led to his alleged torture, ruled a federal judge who said he was trying to balance a clash between war and the defense of personal freedoms.
The order by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey White of San Francisco is the first time a government lawyer has been held potentially liable for the abuse of detainees.

San Francisco pointedly does not participate in the defense of the country, putting the screws to the military at every opportunity and arrogantly refusing to enforce immigration law. Yet its nutcase judges can impose their moonbattery on the rest of us.

As you may recall, Jose Padilla was plotting with al Qaeda to set off a radioactive "dirty bomb" in an American city. This makes him the good guy, from the point of view of the vermin who are now in charge of our country.

But was Padilla really tortured? Of course not.

His lawsuit alleges he was illegally detained and was subjected to sleep deprivation, temperature extremes, painful stress positions, and extended periods of bright lights and total darkness. Padilla also alleges he endured threats that he would be killed, that his family would be harmed, and that he would be transferred to another country to be tortured.

The AC was up too high, the lights were too bright, he didn't get enough sleep, there was a pea under his mattress, et cetera. Meanwhile, in Muslim countries people are getting their fingernails torn off. The worst of Padilla's "torture" was allegedly being told he would be transferred to the sort of country where he really would be tortured.

Any judge who wouldn't laugh this case out of court needs to be removed from the bench immediately for reasons of national security. But his depraved views make White a smooth fit with the rest of our rulers.

Air France Crash Caused by Global Warming

At this point, it's too late to prevent the global warming hoax from degenerating into guffaw-inducing self-parody, so there's no reason for USA Today not to select letters like this for publication:

First, some experts blame global warming for the increased severity and frequency of hurricanes (most of which originate at latitudes within 5 to 15 degrees of the equator). Second, the flight appears to have passed through a band of equatorial megastorms. Finally, levels of turbulence in such storms are being investigated in the crash.
Perhaps the memorial service in Paris will be recognized as the first for airline victims of global warming.

Don't waste your time arguing with a Kool-Aid–guzzling idiot. Just add Air France Flight 447 to The List.

Even in the contemptible era of Hopey Change, patriotism remains alive, like a smoldering ember that might yet grow back into a glorious blaze.

Jeff Olsen doesn't pay much attention to the garbage he collects unless he spots red and white stripes or white stars on a blue background.
Whenever he sees a U.S. flag in the trash, Olsen retrieves it and takes it back to Waste Management offices in this Chicago suburb [Elgin, Illinois]. He has rescued more than 250 flags in the past 18 months.

Flags collected by Olsen and his coworkers are taken to the American Legion for proper disposal.

"It's the symbol of our nation, so you have to take care of it," Olsen says. "You dump it, you see it, you grab it and you get it to the right place."

We don't ever want to forget that the flag doesn't just represent the bloated obscenity into which our government has deteriorated. It also represents America.

Obama Removes Oversight From AmeriCorps

Given Obama's apparent intentions to use ostensibly volunteer groups as private armies, this is hardly surprising:

[O]n Wednesday night the AmeriCorps inspector general, Gerald Walpin, received a call from the White House counsel's office telling him that he had one hour to either resign or be fired. The White House did not cite a reason.

Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) came to Walpin's defense with a letter to the White House that read in part:

I was troubled to learn that last night your staff reportedly issued an ultimatum to the AmeriCorps Inspector General Gerald Walpin that he had one hour to resign or be terminated. As you know, Inspectors General were created by Congress as a means to combat waste, fraud, and abuse and to be independent watchdogs ensuring that federal agencies were held accountable for their actions. Inspectors General were designed to have a dual role reporting to both the President and Congress so that they would be free from undue political pressure. This independence is the hallmark of all Inspectors General and is essential so they may operate independently, without political pressure or interference from agencies attempting to keep their failings from public scrutiny.

As Grassley went on to note, Walpin's abrupt termination violates the law. As a junior Senator, B. Hussein himself cosponsored the Inspectors General Reform Act, which requires the POTUS to give Congress 30 days notice before dismissing an IG. But Walpin is getting the ax anyway.

The firing apparently stems from Walpin's investigation of a non-profit group, St. HOPE Academy, run by Kevin Johnson, the former NBA star who is now mayor of Sacramento, California (and a big Obama supporter). "[Walpin] found that Johnson, a former all-star point guard for the Phoenix Suns, had used AmeriCorps grants to pay volunteers to engage in school-board political activities, run personal errands for Johnson and even wash his car," the AP reports. In April, the U.S. attorney declined to file any criminal charges in the matter and criticized Walpin's investigation. But at the same time Johnson and St. HOPE agreed to repay about half of the $850,000 it had received from AmeriCorps.
Bottom line: The AmeriCorps IG accuses prominent Obama supporter of misusing AmeriCorps grant money. Prominent Obama supporter has to pay back more than $400,000 of that grant money. Obama fires AmeriCorps IG.

It would be nice to think this is just more of the slimy corruption we've come to expect from Democrats, and not part of the transformation of AmeriCorps into something scary.

The impending nationalization of the healthcare industry is great news for a new generation of Trofim Lysenkos, who can now force taxpayers to fund whatever flaky notions happen to be rattling around in their hollow skulls.

Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) says he's found a cost effective way to address chronic pain, stress, and other illnesses: meditation.
Ryan is urging policymakers to consider adding "mindfulness education" — learning to reduce one's own stress level — to healthcare reform legislation.
"Every day, I meditate for at least 45 minutes before leaving home in the morning," Ryan wrote on his website. "I find it makes me a better listener, and my concentration is sharper. I get less distracted when I'm reading. It's like you see through the clutter of life and can penetrate to what's really going on."

Careful, Ryan. If people penetrate the clutter and see what's really going on, you and your fellow socialist looters will be tarred, feathered, and run out of Washington on a rail.

But meditation could have a big future in our socialized healthcare system. When the government doesn't feel like sparing the money to treat your cancer, it can just send you home with one of those pamphlets the guys in orange robes used to pass out at airports. You're going to die anyway; the important thing is that you go out in a state of calm acceptance — and cost The State as little as possible.

If private insurers are pushed out of the market, the group said, "the corresponding surge in public plan participation would likely lead to an explosion of costs that would need to be absorbed by taxpayers."

Biden Promises Biased Rulings on Sotomayor's Behalf

Uh oh: Plugs managed to get his gag off again. He took the opportunity to promote racist Supremes nominee Sonia Sotomayor before an assembly of law enforcement groups:

"So you all are on the front lines. But as you do your job, know that Judge Sotomayor has your back as well," Biden said. "And throughout this nomination process, I know you'll have her back."
The comment touched on the hot-button issue of bias in the debate over Sotomayor, whose confirmation hearings could start as early as July if Democrats have their way.
John Wesley Hall, president of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, said Biden didn't do himself any favors with that remark, since it's likely to generate more critical questions for Sotomayor during confirmation hearings.
"That (comment) means that she could probably care less about civil liberties and just do whatever law enforcement wants," Hall said.

Biden's handlers got the gag back in his mouth before he could set things to right with a proclamation that Sotomayor would balance her law enforcement views by continuing to discriminate in favor of non-Caucasians.

It would be hilarious, if only it were a joke. The leftist clowns to whom misguided voters have safeguarded our national security now want terrorists captured on foreign battlefields to be mirandized like the petty criminals liberals would have us believe they are.

When 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammad was captured on March 1, 2003, he was not cooperative. "I'll talk to you guys after I get to New York and see my lawyer," he said, according to former CIA Director George Tenet.
Of course, KSM did not get a lawyer until months later, after his interrogation was completed, and Tenet says that the information the CIA obtained from him disrupted plots and saved lives. "I believe none of these successes would have happened if we had had to treat KSM like a white-collar criminal – read him his Miranda rights and get him a lawyer who surely would have insisted that his client simply shut up," Tenet wrote in his memoirs.
If Tenet is right, it's a good thing KSM was captured before Barack Obama became president. For, the Obama Justice Department has quietly ordered FBI agents to read Miranda rights to high value detainees captured and held at U.S. detention facilities in Afghanistan, according a senior Republican on the House Intelligence Committee. "The administration has decided to change the focus to law enforcement. Here's the problem. You have foreign fighters who are targeting US troops today – foreign fighters who go to another country to kill Americans. We capture them…and they're reading them their rights — Mirandizing these foreign fighters," says Representative Mike Rogers, who recently met with military, intelligence and law enforcement officials on a fact-finding trip to Afghanistan.

To mirandize the darling terrorists, you read them this:

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to speak to an attorney, and to have an attorney present during any questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be provided for you at government expense.

The International Red Cross has been helpfully advising terrorists to keep their mouths shut and take the free lawyer.

Next we'll learn that the terrorists killing our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan qualify for food stamps.

On Monday night David Letterman made a disgusting "joke," to the effect that 14-year-old Willow Palin was "knocked up by Alex Rodriguez" at a baseball game. As if worried that this attack wasn't vile enough, he followed it up last night with this:

The toughest part of [Sarah Palin's visit to NYC] was keeping Eliot Spitzer away from her daughter.

Now Willow is portrayed as a prostitute who would have sex with one of the most repulsive degenerates in the entire Democrat Party. That's what she gets for having a mom who is hated by the liberal establishment.

President Barack Obama and his team have been having so much fun wielding dictatorial power while rescuing "failed" firms, that they have developed a scheme to gain the same power over every business. The plan is to enact policies that are so anticompetitive that every firm needs a bailout.
Once that happens, their new pay czar Kenneth Feinberg can set the wage for everybody and Rahm Emanuel can stack the boards of all of our companies with his political cronies.

Obama's latest assault on our economy is to inflict crippling levels of taxation on foreign subsidiaries of US companies, a move than any idiot could see will force the companies to leave America altogether to stay competitive, given our exorbitant corporate tax rate, which is second only to Japan's in the industrialized world. Even Microsoft may be packing up and moving out.

The point of this economic sabotage?

Maybe it is good politics to bash American corporations, and Obama isn't really serious about making this change happen. But if the change is enacted, and domestic corporate taxes aren't reduced to offset the big tax hike, the result will be a flight from the U.S. that rivals in scale the greatest avian arctic migrations.
If that occurs, the firms that stay in the U.S. will be at such a huge tax disadvantage that they will absolutely need a "rescue."

Those who endured the David Dinkins Administration in NYC have seen this movie before. Now the disaster will play out at the national level, with bureaucratic thugs bleeding corporations for every penny they can get, until the geese who lay the golden eggs manage to fly away to safety, leaving nothing behind but corrupt and unproductive government-run enterprises.

The wise parasite lets its host stay alive. But there is nothing wise about the greedy, power-mad Marxists now running Washington.

One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game. During the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.

He said this about a 14-year-old girl.

Letterman also referred to Sarah Palin as "slutty." This from a creep who only recently married the mother of his 5-year-old son.

By now entertainment industry moonbats must have noticed that the election is over, so they can climb out of the sewer for awhile. But apparently they like it down there.

Mother and Daughter Pay the Price for Our Immigration Policy

When I first heard this tragic story of a mother and her daughter mowed down in broad daylight in Brewster, New York by a drunken maniac, I made the natural assumption regarding the driver's immigration status. Now we have confirmation:

A drunken driver struck and killed a mother and her young daughter as they were walking to the child's dance class yesterday, authorities said.
Kayla Donohue, a second-grader at John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Southeast, was pronounced dead at the scene about 6:45 p.m., Brewster fire officials said.
Her mother, Lori Donohue, was taken by Brewster ambulance to Putnam Hospital Center and then by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, where she reportedly died later in the evening.
A white Ford F-350 pickup truck apparently failed to make the left-hand turn onto routes 6 and 22 from Main Street in the village and drove into the parking lot next to Seven Stars School of Performing Arts, pinning the little girl against the building and her mother beneath the truck.
The pickup's driver was taken into custody and arraigned early this morning on a felony charge of first-degree vehicluar manslaughter. The suspect was identified this morning by a Putnam County corrections official as Zacariah Conses-Garcia, 35. His address was not immediately available. Conses-Garcia was being held on $150,000 bail.
The federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement department has also filed a detainer against the suspect as an illegal immigrant, the Putnam County corrections department said.

Formerly a quiet, picturesque town on the outer fringes of NYC's northern suburbs, Brewster has been made almost unlivable by hordes of perpetually drunk illegal aliens who use the streets as their toilets, sleep in the surrounding woods, and become killing machines when they get ahold of vehicles.

A fundamental purpose of government is to defend its people from foreign invasion. But the gang of looters calling itself our government is too busy spreading the wealth around to attend to the responsibilities that would justify its existence.

This scene should have occurred at the border, before innocents had been killed.

AFP, a German zoo, and two abnormal penguins have teamed up to deal a devastating blow to the institution of marriage:

Two homosexual penguins have successfully hatched an egg that was rejected by its parents and are now proudly rearing the chick, the German zoo housing the couple said…
"Z and Vielpunkt, both males, gladly accepted their 'Easter present' and began straight away with hatching the egg," said the zoo in Bremerhaven, in northern Germany.
"Since the chick arrived they are behaving in the same way as one would expect a heterosexual couple to do. Both happy fathers are now diligently handling the everyday care … of their adopted offspring," the zoo said. …
"Homosexuality is nothing unusual among animals," the zoo said. "Sex and coupling up in our world do not necessarily have anything to do with reproduction."

There you have it: the Bremerhaven Zoo has spoken on the meaning of marriage and sexuality morality.

Senate Looters Propose Lifestyle Taxes

Bureaucrats are planning to seize control of the healthcare industry and finance the power grab by taxing lifestyles.

The Senate Finance Committee is considering raising taxes on alcohol and imposing a new levy on soda and other naturally sweetened drinks to help pay for overhauling health care. The committee calls them "lifestyle tax proposals," saying the levies would slow sales of unhealthy products that contribute to rising medical costs. …
Besides alcohol, drinks with sugar, high fructose corn syrup and similar sweeteners would be targeted, though diet drinks with artificial sweeteners would not. Other industries also are on alert, worried that the idea of "lifestyle taxes" could spread to other products deemed unhealthy.

Imposing socialized medicine is expected to cost at least $1.5 trillion over the next 10 years, so the lifestyle taxes will have to spread far and wide to pay the bills. Not even liberals will like the consequences. How about a homosexual depravity tax, since it's hard to imagine a lifestyle more likely to produce astronomical medical bills?

Even if there could ever be a good time to nationalize healthcare, this definitely wouldn't be it. The tax hikes required would be crippling even in the best of economic times. Add to this the cap and trade lunacy, and our only hope is that grownups will take control of the government soon and undo the Hopey Change before it results in a depression.

Captain Crunch Sued

Today's lawsuit of the day:

A federal judge in California has dismissed a complaint filed by a San Diego woman who had bought "Cap'n Crunch with Crunchberries" for four years believing the cereal contained real berries.
Janine Sugawara cried fraud when she learned the "berries" were only colored cereal balls flavored with strawberry concentrate. She sued the manufacturer on behalf of all crunchberry-eating Americans.

Common sense made a rare appearance in a courtroom when Judge Morrison England Jr. ruled:

This Court is not aware of, nor has Plaintiff alleged the existence of, any actual fruit referred to as a "crunchberry." … A reasonable consumer would not be deceived into believing that the Product in the instant case contained a fruit that does not exist. … So far as this Court has been made aware, there is no such fruit growing in the wild or occurring naturally in any part of the world.
Plaintiff did not explain why she could not reasonably have figured this out at any point during the four years she alleged she bought Cap'n Crunch with Crunchberries in reliance on defendant's fraud.

Sugawara's lawyers had previously tried suing Froot Loops for not being loops of fruit.

Next we'll learn that Captain Crunch isn't really a commissioned naval officer.

The story is based on an Al-Qaeda recruitment video first broadcast back in February on Al Jazeera. In it, Kuwaiti dissident Abdullah al-Nafisi tells a roomful of people that Al-Qaeda is currently casing the U.S. border with Mexico to see how they could smuggle weapons through border tunnels and into the U.S. (Relax fellas, you don't need to crawl through tunnels. I can show you whole unguarded roads that go across the river and into the U.S. … unless you really like crawling.)
Border Ranchers and Texas Law Enforcement have been warning of such a threat for years. For a long while now, ranchers and sheriffs have been reporting incidents of Middle Eastern human smuggling. For some Texas ranchers, stumbling upon Somalis, Eritreans, Bangladeshis or Iraqis is no longer surprising. Lodgers at San Quentin Recreation Center Don't Want to Leave

If Comrade Obama is ever forced by his own sanctimonious rhetoric to really close Club Gitmo, the terrorists vacationing there are unlikely to be happier with their new accommodations — unless they're simply let go. The same goes for San Quentin State Prison, which sits on such valuable waterfront land a few minutes away from the Golden Gate Bridge that officials could turn a $1 billion profit by selling it and building a new prison elsewhere. Prisoners — the worst of the worst, just like at Gitmo — are aghast at the idea:

"Some places you go for punishment," said inmate John Taylor, a catcher for the prison baseball team, the San Quentin Giants [and a convicted murderer]. "Here, it's more rehabilitation. I just don't know why the governor would want to shut us down."

The killers and maniacs at San Quentin benefit from nearby San Francisco, with its legions of sympathetic do-gooders.

Prison volunteers come from around the Bay Area and include professional artists, graduate students and professors at nearby universities, including the University of California at Berkeley and San Francisco State University. Others are retirees. Most are experienced teachers in their field.

The programs that make life richly fulfilling for the convicts too dangerous to keep at other prisons rely heavily on these volunteers and proximity to the universities that spawn them.

The programs include a Shakespearean drama program, football, baseball, basketball, soccer and tennis teams, and the Prison University Project, which offers inmates classroom instruction that leads to associate's degrees.

All that's at risk if prison moves. Besides, the guards don't want to move either, and they've got a powerful union. So California will probably be left to raise money the new-fangled way: a strings-attached bailout from Chairman Zero, courtesy of federal taxpayers.

Four years is how long Comrade Obama has, and he isn't going to waste a single day — as made clear by his appointment of militant pervert Kevin Jennings as Assistant Deputy Secretary, Office of Safe & Drug Free Schools:

Kevin Jennings is the founder and former executive director of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), an organization that works to make schools safe for all students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Translated from bureaucratese, the above reads:

Jennings founded a fanatical cult devoted to imposing homosexual depravity on small children.

"Safe" schools are schools in which homosexuality is aggressively promoted, as by GLSEN's "Day of Silence" celebrations.

In bold on Jennings' resume is his organization's role in the Fistgate Incident:

On March 25, 2000, GLSEN put on a conference called "TeachOut" for kids across and public school teachers across Massachusetts. This conference was co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Department of Education.
At this conference children as young as 12 years old were taught by state employees how to engage in various extremely dangerous (and disgusting) homosexual sex acts.

Here's an example of what the kids were taught by bureaucrats on your dime, thanks to Jennings and his fellow activists:

Fisting [forcing one's entire hand into another person's rectum or vagina] often gets a bad rap.… [It's] an experience of letting somebody into your body that you want to be that close and intimate with… [and] to put you into an exploratory mode.

Comrade Obama has said that sexual indoctrination should start in kindergarten — and GLSEN agrees:

GLSEN activist and New York kindergarten teacher Jaki Williams said starting in kindergarten is a must, since children at that age are still developing their ideas about the world around them. Even at that age, she said, is "the saturation process needs to begin."
Williams, in fact, is a model teacher when it comes to this "saturation" process. She regularly initiates conversations with her children by reading to them such controversial books as Heather Has Two Mommies, Daddy's Roommate, and One Dad, Two Dads, Browns Dads, Blue Dads. She also hosts a viewing of the video Both of My Moms' Names Are Judy: Children of Lesbians and Gays Speak Out, produced by a San Francisco pro-homosexual advocacy group.
According to one writer for The Lambda Report, who infiltrated a 1997 GLSEN workshop, one former teacher admitted that changing the mind of a child required more than a one-time effort. She said she had to expose her children to a constant stream of homosexual words and images, because "It's really a conditioning process."

Here's what Jennings has to say about those of us who respect traditional values:

We have to quit being afraid of the religious right. We also have to quit — I'm trying to find a way to say this. I'm trying not to say, '[F—] 'em!' which is what I want to say, because I don't care what they think! [audience laughter] Drop dead!

Brainwashing small children into accepting this freak's viewpoint is what Obamunists had in mind when they promised their two-bit messiah would unite us.

There are so many parks around here, and there are lots of kids around. They're on the corner lot right across the street from the community gardens and the Waldorf school. The whole street is lined with kids.

However, the important thing isn't to behave with a modicum of decorum in front of children, but for the Pierces to do their thing and let it all hang out, while the government seizes at least half of our wealth, sinks our grandchildren up to their necks in debt, and prepares to regulate industry back to the Bronze Age in the name of the global warming hoax. From New York, the lawsuit of the day:

An ex-con is suing an upstate prison nurse who allegedly sent him back to his cell after medication side effects gave him a painful erection that wouldn't go away.

The erection lasted 55 hours, a side effect of antipsychotic medication taken by career criminal Dawud Yaduallah. The nurse stands accused of committing "an [inexcusable] violation of this man's civil rights" by giving him the same advice Bill Clinton gave Juanita Broaddrick: put some ice on it.

Unlike Slick Willie, the since retired nurse may actually get in trouble.

His Manhattan federal court suit doesn't specify damages but demands stiff punishment for Lovelace's "cruel and uncivilized conduct."

She should have followed standard medical procedure by showing him this.

PETA Angles to Take Over Lighthouses

PETA wants to take over two Michigan lighthouses and use them to propagandize against fishing:

As Lake Michigan ports go, Grand Haven is an angler's paradise. If People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals gets its way, it also will be home to a lighthouse café — serving faux fish sticks — where patrons learn about the evils of fishing.
PETA said in a letter to the National Park Service this week that it wants to take over Grand Haven's historic twin red lighthouses once they go on a list of surplus properties this year or next. Because PETA is a nonprofit, its bid to maintain the lighthouses could be considered.
The way the animal rights group sees it, Grand Haven would be a perfect place to drum up compassion for fish. To do so, it would point to research it says suggests that fish have feelings, too, rubbing against each other to show affection, developing individual personalities, even learning to grieve.

If this is true, the "sea kittens" can grieve for Michigan's floundering economy. Captain Jim Bard of It-Il-Do Charters comments on PETA's plans:

It's nonsense. The whole entire lake revolves around the sportfishing industry.

Maybe the local economy will be sustained by the faux fish stick sales. As a nonprofit, at least PETA won't be on the hook for high taxes.

Microsoft's Ballmer Responds to Obama's Looting Plans

If Comrade Obama's plans to tighten the screws on corporations by going after their foreign earnings result in higher unemployment and a lower Dow Jones, no one can say we weren't warned.

Microsoft Corp. Chief Executive Officer Steven Ballmer said the world's largest software company would move some employees offshore if Congress enacts President Barack Obama's plans to impose higher taxes on U.S. companies' foreign profits.
"It makes U.S. jobs more expensive," Ballmer said in an interview. "We're better off taking lots of people and moving them out of the U.S. as opposed to keeping them inside the U.S." …
Ballmer estimated that higher taxes under [the Moonbat Messiah's latest looting] proposal would reduce profits for companies that comprise the Dow Jones Industrial Average by between 10 and 15 percentage points.
"It's just a question of how much will the Dow come down," Ballmer said. "It's not about companies anyway; we're talking about shareholders."

Just as the moonbats running California have put the state into an economic death spiral by driving out business with extravagantly greedy taxation, Hopey Change will eventually chase American corporations to less business-hostile countries like Ireland or Bermuda. But that's okay; Chairman Zero can always raise taxes some more on those of us who don't have the resources to escape.

Burger King Owners Revolt Against Global Warming Hoax

The establishment almost uniformly promotes this swindle, but Tennessee Burger King owners are fighting back with about a dozen signs like this:

The [restaurant] management team can put the message up there if they want to. It is private property and here in the US we do have some rights. … Burger King can bluster all they want about what they can tell the franchisee to do, but we have free-speech rights in this country so I don't think there's any concerns.

According to Burger King, franchisees have agreed to comply with orders from on high to remove the signage. If the signs are replaced with new ones reading, "Global Warming Is Real, Taxes Are Good, Obama Is the Messiah," we'll know the top brass has the situation in hand.

Newsweek Dismisses Danger of Gitmo Terrorists on the Loose

Are you concerned that for the sake of Comrade Obama's sanctimonious posturing, deadly terrorists will be released from Club Gitmo to inflict future 9/11-style atrocities on the innocent? Relax. It's true that Gitmo alumni tend to return to terrorism after being released. But our intellectual superiors among the liberal elite assure us that the real problem is that too many criminals are incarcerated. From Newsreek:

If we are going to have a national panic attack about the failings of the criminal justice system after 9/11, let's be honest that the dangers of a handful of Guantánamo prisoners rejoining the battlefield is far more remote than the dangers festering in our own jails and prisons. Americans worried about what's happening in their own backyards would be well advised to recognize that the U.S. prison system is one burgeoning backyard that won't be contained, ignored or walled off forever.

Despite admitting that it pays his wages, professional moonbat George Monbiot declares himself morally opposed to advertising:

I believe that advertising is a pox on the planet. It is one of the forces driving us towards destruction, as it creates needs that did not exist before and promotes consumption way beyond sustainable levels. I believe that it is also socially damaging, turning ours into a more grasping, more atomised society, focused on material display rather than solidarity and community action.

In addition to tempting us away from righteous socialist poverty, advertisements

generate behavioural norms, telling us, in effect, that the goods and services which are destroying the biosphere are acceptable, even beneficial. I believe that their presence in the newspapers makes hypocrites of all those of us who write for them. Our editorials urge people to reduce their impacts. Our advertisements urge people to increase them.

Given the environmental extremism Moonbat so stridently preaches, the fact that he doesn't live in a tree makes him a hypocrite.

If Brian Deese can be put in charge of the auto industry, maybe Moonbat should be made supreme ruler of all publishing. Then he could issue a decree that instead of advertising revenue, publications would be sustained by sheer sanctimony. His pay would go down to zero, but at least then he couldn't be accused of "grasping."

It seems today is also the 25th anniversary of Tetris, a Soviet video game. I had never heard of Tetris, but apparently it is much more significant than the sacrifices made on Omaha Beach, at least from Google's point of view.

Sonia Sotomayor may be so racist as to be a member of the ethnic supremacist group La Raza (The Race), but she has room in her heart for those who aren't Hispanic — so long as they aren't men. The Supreme Court nominee is also a member of another exclusive club:

But we do know that Sotomayor gave a presentation at last year's Grove bash in Peru "on the challenges the judiciary faces in maintaining its independence from the legislative and executive branches." After all, we don't want the other branches interfering with the courts, where policy is made.

Given her well-known belief in the inferiority of white males, Sotomayor wouldn't qualify to serve on a jury. But then, BHO isn't qualified to manage a Dairy Queen, and that didn't stop him from becoming CEO of the auto industry.

News stories from President Obama's event last week hailing the 100-day mark since the stimulus was passed typically repeated the assertion that the stimulus has already "created or saved 150,00 jobs." ("And that's just the beginning," the President crowed.)
Here's an important note to my friends in the news media: the White House has absolutely no earthly clue how many job losses have been prevented because of the stimulus bill. None. Not Christina Romer. Not Jared Bernstein. Not Austen Goolsbee.
Each of these distinguished economists would have failed Statistics 101 for making such a laughable claim. But we see them now repeating these assertions to reporters who have seemingly abandoned all skepticism.

"Hills" reality television star Spencer Pratt was baptized on the show and "The View" featured a clip from his baptism in a river.

It's a simple device, which looks sort of like a car's keyless entry remote, with a single button that causes it to emit the infrared "Power off" codes for every brand and model of TV it knows about, which is to say about 95%+ of TVs in existence.
Yeah, it's time to get aggressive when it comes to people playing FOX News in businesses, doctor's offices and other public places.

Wouldn't it be more effective if moonbats had their messiah turn off FNC at the source? That way, no one would be allowed to watch anything but Obama worship anywhere. But then, closing down Fox Hugo Chavez style could take time. At the rate America is being transformed into Venezuela, Fox might still be around for a year or more.

Unemployment is closing in on 10%. But everything's still fine, so long as 90% are still slaving away to bankroll the activities of the unemployed — or as some call themselves, the funemployed:

Michael Van Gorkom was laid off by Yahoo in late April. He didn't panic. He didn't rush off to a therapist. Instead, the 33-year-old Santa Monica resident discovered that being jobless "kind of settled nicely."
Week one: "I thought, 'OK … I need to send out resumes, send some e-mails, need to do networking."
Week two: "A little less."
Every week since: "I'm going to go to the beach and enjoy some margaritas."
What most people would call unemployment, Van Gorkom embraced as "funemployment."
While millions of Americans struggle to find work as they face foreclosures and bankruptcy, others have found a silver lining in the economic meltdown. These happily jobless tend to be single and in their 20s and 30s. Some were laid off. Some quit voluntarily, lured by generous buyouts.
Buoyed by severance, savings, unemployment checks or their parents, the funemployed do not spend their days poring over job listings. …at least till the bank account dries up, they're content living for today.

This is the mentality that produced a president who wastes enough money to put Americans who haven't been born yet into debt. People have become so frivolous, narcissistic, irresponsible, and self-indulgent that they can no longer grasp the necessity of work.

Jean Twenge, associate professor of psychology and coauthor of "The Narcissism Epidemic: Living in the Age of Entitlement," says of funemployment:

It really suggests there has been that generational shift that work is not the be all and end all.

Especially not when "spreading the wealth around" has erased the connection between wealth and work.

The brotherhood is a Salafist/ Islamist party with branches in many countries, and it does not have a reputation for liberalism and has supported violent campaigns against Israel (and Egypt's own government). It has deep roots in the region and traces its intellectual lineage to Sayyid Qutb, a top American-educated Islamic intellectual who was executed — or martyred — by the Egyptian government in 1966. The Brotherhood has direct links with Sunni groups like Hamas in the Palestinian territories.

The Muslim Brotherhood is the grand-daddy of Islamic terror groups. Not only Hamas but also al Qaeda are offshoots.

You could almost get the impression that Obama is not just pro-Muslim, but pro-terrorist.

During one of Chavez's customary lectures on the "curse" of capitalism and the bonanzas of socialism, the Venezuelan leader made reference to GM's bankruptcy filing, which is expected to give the U.S. government a 60 percent stake in the 100-year-old former symbol of American might.
"Hey, Obama has just nationalized nothing more and nothing less than General Motors. Comrade Obama! Fidel, careful or we are going to end up to his right," Chavez joked on a live television broadcast.
During a decade in government, Chavez has nationalized most of Venezuela's key economic sectors, including multibillion dollar oil projects, often via joint ventures with the private sector that give the state a 60 percent controlling stake.

Chavez had better find some more property to seize or industry to suffocate, lest his colleague Comrade Obama leave him behind in the race toward the squalid totalitarian penury on display in Cuba.

It turns out Playboy's invitation to fantasize about raping famous conservative women wasn't such a big deal after all. First, it drew approving chuckles from Politico under the subheading, "The Lighter Side of Politics." Now MSM propagandist Bonnie Erbe of U.S. News & World Report officially confirms that at least some conservative women deserve to be "hate f**ked":

[A]t least one woman on the list is so venom-spewing, she unfortunately invites venom to be shot back at her: Michelle Malkin.

In her high-mindedness, Erbe does admit that not all of the women on Playboy's list deserve to be raped. But expressing as much countermoonbat passion as Michelle Malkin is apparently the equivalent of deserving what you get for wearing too short a skirt.

From New York, an indication of where we're headed:

The apartments in Crown Heights were supposed to sell for $250,000 to $350,000. The amenities include granite countertops, terraces, marble bathrooms and walk-in closets.
Developer Avi Shriki says he had to come up with a Plan B "when the market went south." He signed a 10-year contract with the Bushwick Economic Development Group to turn the building into a shelter.
The city is paying about $2,700 a month for each apartment. The figure also covers social services, including job counseling.

That is, residents are getting $32,400 per year for being bums, in addition to who knows what other free goodies. No wonder "the homeless" can afford homes that people who work for a living can't.

In the middle of class a boy stormed into a classroom at the Thorbecke school in Zwolle. One of the girls in the class, Maria Mosterd, needed to come with him right away. "Her cousin has been in a car accident!" This is how, from the age of twelve, Maria would be summoned by her pimp or his accomplices when it was time for her to go to work — as a prostitute and drugs courier.
Maria Mosterd is not an exception. Around the Netherlands, as in other countries, young pimps prey on young girls like Maria. They park their cars outside high schools and wait for the girls to pass by on their bicycles. In the Netherlands these young men are known as 'loverboys'. They target the more vulnerable girls, win them over until they fall in love with them, and then make them sleep with other men for money. The schools know about them but they're not doing anything to stop them.

Maria's mother is suing the school for €74,000 in damages for ignoring the pubescent prostitution problem, which educrats dismiss with the euphemism "sexual assertiveness" — a very widespread phenomenon in what's left of the Netherlands.

At vocational schools, up to eighty percent of the students have experienced sexual assertiveness issues.

If Holland's Charity, Freedom and Diversity Party ever takes power, they can just convert the schools into brothels. The party advocates abolishing the age of consent on the grounds that it "just makes children curious."

Anderson Cooper has been in a slide since Hopey Change descended, as has Keith Ubermoonbat's home, MSNBC. The Live Feed reported last month:

I've never been much of a fan of the socialist punk the liberal elite media installed in the White House, but I had no idea he was this flaky and ignorant:

Is B. Hussein insane? Less knowledgeable than a schoolboy? Claiming America on behalf of the caliphate? Or is he just giving us a foretaste of the shameful pandering in store for us when he grovels his way through the Islamic world, apologizing for the lousy country he is embarrassed to rule?

In case facts still have any relevance in the upside-down dystopia of Hopey Change, Muslims actually make up between 0.5% and 0.6% of our population, as confirmed here, here, here, and here. In absolute numbers, the Muslim population of the USA is about 1.5 million. The population of overwhelmingly Muslim Indonesia is about 238 million.

Maybe one day Obama will be able to bring reality in line with his rhetoric. Using our money to import Palestinian voters is a start.

Good news and bad news regarding Comrade Obama and Iran…

First the bad: Chairman Zero won't lift a finger to prevent the demented terrorist regime from acquiring nuclear weapons. He's even declared that Iran — which is floating on a lake of oil — has a right to use nuclear technology to meet its energy needs. America sits atop massive energy resources too, with the difference that we can't access ours, because we are ruled by moonbats. Yet our right to meet our energy needs with nuclear technology is severely curtailed by Democrats. Fortunately for Iran's weapons program, the mullahs don't have that problem.

Now the good news. It doesn't matter that Iran will soon have nuclear weapons, because now we're allies. Israel will soon be a radioactive blighted zone, but all correctly thinking people know that this racist apartheid state has been an obstacle to peace anyway.

Our new friend Mad Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has even been invited to take part in Fourth of July celebrations. Let's hope he doesn't bring his own fireworks.

One is headquartered in Detroit. The products built in the factories of GM, Ford and Chrysler are some of the greatest weapons of mass destruction responsible for global warming and the melting of our polar icecaps. The things we call "cars" may have been fun to drive, but they are like a million daggers into the heart of Mother Nature.

At least he's honest about what nationalization means for the future of automobile manufacturing.

IRS Puts Tax Lien on Hanoi John Kerry's 2004 Campaign

The Internal Revenue Service has filed a tax lien seeking more than $800,000 from Sen. John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign, escalating a dispute over payroll taxes that the lawmaker's office blames on faulty government paperwork. …
The IRS filed the lien in the District of Columbia earlier this year, claiming that a previous attempt to collect the money was unsuccessful. "We have made a demand for payment of this liability, but it remains unpaid," the tax filing stated.
The IRS is taking action more than a year after the campaign closed its books and sent nearly $200,000 in leftover presidential campaign money to Mr. Kerry's Senate election fund.

Skerry says he already paid the taxes. Tell it to the bureaucracy, Jean François!

Having married into hundreds of $millions, Hanoi John has plenty of money. But he may not be able to pay the taxes even if he's willing to; because he accepted public money for his fortunately unsuccessful presidential campaign, there are limits to how much of his wife's cash he can put into it — even to pay bills years after it's gone defunct.

Maybe the IRS can put a lien on his Senate seat.

PETA Exploits Death of Tiller the Baby Killer

It's reassuring to see PETA maintain its usual standard of taste and classiness:

A national animal rights group plans to erect billboards in Wichita urging people on both sides of the abortion debate to go vegetarian.
One version of the billboard says, "Pro-Life? Go Vegetarian." The other says, "Pro-Choice? Choose Vegetarian." Both feature a photo of three baby chicks.
Lindsay Rajt, campaign manager for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, said the billboards were prompted by the recent shooting death of abortion doctor George Tiller, who was killed Sunday at his church.

Preaches Rajt:

We want to remind people that no matter where they come down on the abortion issue, each and every one of us can spare a life every time we sit down to eat.

Too bad for Tiller he's already in hell. He might have redeemed himself for all the babies he killed by going vegetarian. After all, a human's life is worth no more than an animal's, according to PETA.

Denver's Double Tax on Cooking Oil

Now that greedy bureaucrats have levied a tax on pretty much everything, it's time to start taxing things twice. In Denver, restaurants have to pay a separate tax on cooking oil — on top of the sales tax collected for the food cooked with it:

Colorado Restaurant Association Big Cheese Pete Meersman is afraid the city of Denver's Department of Revenue is jumping out of the frying pan and into the fryer.
At issue? During some recent restaurant-industry audits, the city has claimed separate sales tax on frying oil, claiming that the oil is a separate product because it is not absorbed into the product.
Try telling that to a cardiologist who wants you to cut down on French fries.
"Let's say you have a grilled cheese sandwich restaurant," Meersman said. "All the products you get in — including the oil, bread, cheese, garnishes — you don't pay sales tax on because you're going to turn around and add all those costs up, charge a price and the customer pays sales tax on top of that.
"The problem with trying to collect sales tax on wholesale cooking oil is that it is already being taxed on the retail side."

Yes, but by taxing the oil twice, the government can seize more wealth. The death tax works on the same principle.

Meersman wonders:

Are they going to start charging sales tax on potato peelings? Uneaten chicken bones? The water that's used to boil pasta? Clam shells?

This guy is full of ideas; he could have a future in the Obamination Administration.

Missile Fired at Passenger Jet?

Here's a story that is generating even less interest than a Muslim convert's murder of Private William Long:

Liberty County Sheriff's officials are expected to meet with the FAA on Tuesday to discuss what a Continental Express pilot reported as a "missile or rocket" flying near his airplane.
A pilot reported to the Federal Aviation Administration that at about 8:15 p.m. Friday, an object passed within 150 feet beneath the aircraft, sheriff's officials said.
The aircraft was near the southern edge of the county, flying at about 13,000 feet, officials said.
"The pilot, from what we understand, was former military. He was able to get the coordinates down real quick," said Cpl. Hugh Bishop with the Liberty County Sheriff's Department.

It took the Houston Comical three days to barely mention the story. Hardly anyone else has picked it up. Maybe if there had been an abortionist on board, it would have occurred to someone in the media that a missile fired at a passenger jet on US territory is worth looking into.

Playboy shows us what the term really means in an article on conservative women that author Guy Cimbalo would like to rape, or as a degenerate moonbat like himself would eloquently put it, "hate f**k."

It looks like the overwhelmingly successful Tax Day Tea Parties might have started a trend:

The battle to save our health care system from "the ugly beast of socialized health care" began in Seattle [Saturday] when more than 400 Washingtonians drove themselves from across the state to meet a heavily funded, well organized opponent — the supporters of single-payer healthcare, the unions and the politicians that come with it.
Approximately 1500-2000 people marched for "Health Care For All in 2009: Mothers Leading the Way" to Westlake Park in downtown Seattle, where they were stunned and shocked to discover a significant number of counter-protestors in support of freedom, choice, and competition, lined up five deep down the length of the block, waiting to meet them across street.

Event organizer Liberty Belle reports:

I will never forget the look of shock on their faces as they marched into Westlake and saw us across the street. They couldn't believe it because we've never stood up to them before. It was the most joyous sight I could ever hope to see. Their guest speakers referred to us over and over again, "Don't listen to those people over there…" "like those people over there…" "be louder than those people over there…" Please. They made us the stars of their event. Gracias. We interrupted their mojo and everyone could feel it. It was palpable.

This should come as no surprise, considering our boy president was installed in office without having any serious credentials:

It is not every 31-year-old who, in a first government job, finds himself dismantling General Motors and rewriting the rules of American capitalism.
But that, in short, is the job description for Brian Deese, a not-quite graduate of Yale Law School who had never set foot in an automotive assembly plant until he took on his nearly unseen role in remaking the American automotive industry.
Nor, for that matter, had he given much thought to what ailed an industry that had been in decline ever since he was born. A bit laconic and looking every bit the just-out-of-graduate-school student adjusting to life in the West Wing … Mr. Deese was thrown into the auto industry's maelstrom as soon the election-night parties ended.

Deese's automobile experience consists of sleeping in his car in the parking lot of a Pontiac plant on his way to Washington.

Private William Long Versus Tiller the Baby Killer

Carlos Bledsoe discovered the Religion of Peace, changed his name to Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, traveled to Yemen, studied jihad with an Islamic scholar, and finally opened fire on a recruiting office in Little Rock, killing Private William Long and wounding Private Quinton Ezeagwula. Interviews with the killer unsurprisingly revealed that he "probably had political and religious motives."

So did the mentally ill Scott Roeder, who handed liberals a propaganda bonanza by shooting infamous late-term abortionist George Tiller. The latter incident has been regarded as far more serious, resulting in a statement by the president. Tiller's work continues, with his infant abattoir under federal protection, as moonbats hold candlelight vigils and praise the butcher as "compassionate and courageous."

From the point of view of our progressive ruling class, only innocent life is expendable.

A Google News search for George Tiller returns 5,590 articles. One for William Long returns 535.

We were safe, until it got warm enough for the creature to thaw. Then it made its way down to Washington, DC. From there, it is spreading out across the country, devouring everything in its path. Just today it absorbed Detroit.

Hemp is a sacred plant to moonbats, who come up with their best ideas under its influence. The high priests of environmentalism have declared it to be earth friendly. Plans have been laid to make houses out of hemp, so that our very homes can be shrines to moonbattery:

Hemp, a plant from the cannabis family, could be used to build carbon-neutral homes of the future to help combat climate change and boost the rural economy, say researchers at the University of Bath.
A consortium, led by the BRE Centre for Innovative Construction Materials based at the University, has embarked on a unique housing project to develop the use of hemp-lime construction materials in the UK.
Hemp-lime is a lightweight composite building material made of fibres from the fast growing plant, bound together using a lime-based adhesive. The hemp plant stores carbon during its growth and this, combined with the low carbon footprint of lime and its very efficient insulating properties, gives the material a 'better than zero carbon' footprint.

As always, behind the smokescreen of ecokookery, taxpayers are getting fleeced:

The three year project, worth almost £750,000, will collect vital scientific and engineering data about this new material so that it can be more widely used in the UK for building homes.

White House Moves to Regulate Speech Regarding "Stimulus" Looting Spree

In case anyone thought this was still America, have a look at the official White House blog of Norm Eisen, special counsel to the president for ethics and government reform, who addresses the problem of people exercising their First Amendment rights and speaking up against the way the government has been wasting our money under the guise of "stimulus":

First, we will expand the restriction on oral communications to cover all persons, not just federally registered lobbyists. For the first time, we will reach contacts not only by registered lobbyists but also by unregistered ones, as well as anyone else exerting influence on the process. We concluded this was necessary under the unique circumstances of the stimulus program.

As the Washington Examiner observes:

This is the Camel's nose under the tent, being poked because of special circumstances. Let government restrict political expression — i.e. lobbying of government officials regarding policy — in one small, supposedly specialized area and not long after the specialized area starts expanding. Eventually, all political expression regarding all policy will become subject to government regulation.

The regime of Hope and Change will not stop helping itself to power at the expense of our Constitutional liberties so long as a peep of opposition can be heard. That must be what Obamamites had in mind when they dreamily promised that the Anointed One would unite us.

EPA to Prevent Us From Accessing 500 Trillion Cubic Feet of Natural Gas

Evidence continues to accrue that the energy shortages and consequent worsening economic situation we can expect in the near future are being deliberately created by our government:

Any day now, we expect to see another grab at the throat of our domestic energy supply — to be buried in Waxman-Markey's addition of further price restrictions on the demand side. These stalwart friends of energy innovation are specifically coming after something called "hydraulic fracturing" — yet another clever approach that would allow us to extract much more energy now lying underneath American soil. The process involves pumping water, sand, and some viscous material maybe two miles down a well to create tiny fissures in the rock bed, allowing previously trapped natural gas to flow to the surface. Jobs are created, energy prices ease — all of that here, in the good ole U. S. of A. — as opposed to providing more jobs for (and more power to) Russia, Iran, Libya, and others who continue to be enriched by our backward energy policies.
For faux-fans of domestic energy innovation, hydraulic fracturing is the latest menace that must be contained — for the same reason that previous breakthroughs have been demonized and restricted: we could get an enormous amount of energy by using it!
A U.S. Geological Survey report in 2002 suggested that the four states of the Marcellus Shale region (PA, NY, OH, WV) could be sitting atop as much as 1.9 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. People took notice. But those trillions were scattered across an area of 50,000 sq. miles — still a lot of gas in absolute terms, but spread over an area the size of Greece, and about as practically. Alas, maybe we'd better wait for new technology, or a new application of existing technology.
Which didn't take long. Last year brought a new assessment by another set of pointy-heads, and with drastically different findings. It turns out the actual resource base of the Marcellus is closer to 500 trillion cubic feet of natural gas than to 1.9 trillion. A lot closer. And thanks to new advances in drilling technology pioneered on the plains of Texas and Oklahoma, 50 trillion cubic feet of it could be extracted almost immediately. A trillion dollars' worth of American natural gas for the market … or continued undue influence granted to Russia, Iran, Libya. … Tough call.
If coal's emissions — as opposed to the energy potential of its vast reserves — were really the issue for greens, surely they would support hydraulic fracturing, right? Applying this technology would, in the emission reductions or avoidances it would engender, achieve the ostensible goal of the cap-and-trade rationing scheme — to the extent that the gas produced would replace coal or coal-fired power. So greens are big fans, right?
Silly rabbit. No.
Instead, next week, Rep. Diana DeGette (D., Colo.) is expected to slip a 97-word amendment into what was a 670-page cap-and-trade bill (that has since ballooned to 1,000 pages, reportedly — because, as James Hansen notes, it takes a lot of pages to buy votes for such an odious enterprise). This gem would give the EPA the regulatory reins over hydraulic fracturing — which, if you've ever had to deal with them, and if you've read the newspapers lately, is code for stopping it.

Energy creates wealth, wealth creates power. People with power are difficult to control. Consequently, energy production will be suppressed and overtaxed all the more excessively as we descend further into totalitarian statism, aka Hope and Change.

The pious environmentalist rhetoric is farcical, as opposition to clean natural gas and nuclear energy proves. Democrat energy policy has one objective: to hold us down.

Charter Schools Reject Moonbattery, Overcome Achievement Gap

No wonder liberals hate charter schools so much:

Reporting from Oakland — Not many schools in California recruit teachers with language like this: "We are looking for hard working people who believe in free market capitalism. … Multicultural specialists, ultra liberal zealots and college-tainted oppression liberators need not apply."
That, it turns out, is just the beginning of the ways in which American Indian Public Charter and its two sibling schools spit in the eye of mainstream education. These small, no-frills, independent public schools in the hardscrabble flats of Oakland sometimes seem like creations of television's "Colbert Report." They mock liberal orthodoxy with such zeal that it can seem like a parody.
School administrators take pride in their record of frequently firing teachers they consider to be underperforming. Unions are embraced with the same warmth accorded "self-esteem experts, panhandlers, drug dealers and those snapping turtles who refuse to put forth their best effort," to quote the school's website.
Students, almost all poor, wear uniforms and are subject to disciplinary procedures redolent of military school. One local school district official was horrified to learn that a girl was forced to clean the boys' restroom as punishment.
Conservatives, including columnist George Will, adore the American Indian schools, which they see as models of a "new paternalism" that could close the gap between the haves and have-nots in American education. Not surprisingly, many Bay Area liberals have a hard time embracing an educational philosophy that proudly proclaims that it "does not preach or subscribe to the demagoguery of tolerance."

The results of applying countermoonbattery to education are as you might expect:

It would be easy to dismiss American Indian as one of the nuttier offshoots of the fast-growing charter school movement, which allows schools to receive public funding but operate outside of day-to-day district oversight. But the schools command attention for one very simple reason: By standard measures, they are among the very best in California.
The Academic Performance Index, the central measuring tool for California schools, rates schools on a scale from zero to 1,000, based on standardized test scores. The state target is an API of 800. The statewide average for middle and high schools is below 750. For schools with mostly low-income students, it is around 650.
The oldest of the American Indian schools, the middle school known simply as American Indian Public Charter School, has an API of 967. Its two siblings — American Indian Public Charter School II (also a middle school) and American Indian Public High School — are not far behind.
Among the thousands of public schools in California, only four middle schools and three high schools score higher. None of them serves mostly underprivileged children.
At American Indian, the largest ethnic group is Asian, followed by Latinos and African Americans. Some of the schools' critics contend that high-scoring Asian Americans are driving the test scores, but blacks and Latinos do roughly as well — in fact, better on some tests.
That makes American Indian a rarity in American education, defying the axiom that poor black and Latino children will lag behind others in school.

Our rulers won't let this go on for long. If freeing education from moonbattery closes the ethnic achievement gap, the left's divide-and-conquer strategy — responsible for the media's endless obsession with race — will fall on its face.

Pravda Scorns America's Descent Into Socialism

We are living in upside-down world. Pravda — formerly the official propaganda organ of the Communist Party in the USSR — contemptuously and for the most part accurately describes America's shameful descent into Marxism:

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

The corrosion of education and religion are correctly identified as laying the groundwork for the unfolding catastrophe.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Weimar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

Pravda accurately describes the people in charge as "thieves" who are using the government to "bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars," and gasps in honor that the leftist punk in the White House has granted himself the power to fire the CEO of GM, which is now being absorbed into the federal blob. Next Obama and his "stooges" will "redesign the entire automotive industry." The results of this are clear in advance even from Russia.

The piece concludes with a call to divest from the USA while there's still time, and then finally this:

The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

If we do go down into Obamunism without a fight, the world's snickering will be well earned.
