Jesse Jackson Jr.: A Chip Off the Old Chiseler

This sounds familiar:

Representative Jesse Jackson Jr.'s congressional campaign organization has paid his wife at least $247,500 since 2001, including at least $95,000 after Sandra Jackson joined the Chicago City Council two years ago, according to federal election records.
Jackson's political committee also gave at least $298,927 in cash and in-kind contributions to Sandra Jackson's campaign fund, which bankrolled her races for a city council seat that pays more than $100,000 per year and an unpaid position on the Cook County Democratic Committee.

Where have I heard something like this before? Oh yeah — Jesse Jackson Sr.:

He provided his mistress with $40,000 in moving expenses, a $365,000 house and $10,000 a month in child support.

Where did the money come from? Jackson Sr. looted the extortion-fed, tax-exempt charities that made him such a wealthy man. At least Junior is married to the beneficiary of his illegitimate largess.

No doubt it's all just an innocent mistake — like the "software glitch" that caused these shenanigans in Jackson's FEC reports:

From 2003 through mid-2005, the recipient is shown on Jackson's reports as "Lee Stevens" or "Lee Steven" at the J. Donatella firm. Sandi Jackson's middle name is Lee. Her maiden name is Stevens.
"Using all these different names to describe the same person raises questions as to whether they're intentionally disguising information on their FEC reports," said Jan Baran, a Republican election lawyer at Wiley Rein LLP in Washington and a former FEC official.

Junior is also immersed in the Blago mess:

Jackson, 44, said last month he is the subject of a House ethics probe into his contacts with ousted Illinois Democratic Governor Rod Blagojevich about the U.S. Senate seat vacated by President Barack Obama. Blagojevich faces federal charges that he tried to sell Obama's seat.
A grand jury indictment of Blagojevich alleges that the then governor believed he could get as much as $1.5 million in political donations from Jackson supporters if he named the congressman to the job.

The guy has a future ahead of him, now that Chicago-style politics have gone federal.

It's okay because they're Democrats. If Sarah Palin or Eric Cantor had tried something like this, they'd be destroyed. But the MSM/Democrats tend to protect their own no matter how sleazy they are ... Charlie Rangel, Chris Dodd, Nancy Pelosi, John Murtha, William Jefferson, Alcee Hastings, Sam Adams, John Corzine, Tim Geithner, Ron Sims, John Conyers... Democrats can get away with pretty much anything.
