Pro-Terrorist Attorney General May Release Gitmo Detainees in US

This is why it generally isn't very wise to turn control of the country over to people who hate it:

Attorney General Eric Holder said some detainees being held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, may end up being released in the U.S. as the Obama administration works with foreign allies to resettle some of the prisoners.
Mr. Holder, in a briefing with reporters, said administration officials are still reviewing individual cases of the approximately 250 detainees to determine which will be put on trial and which may be released to comply with plans to close the detention facility by next year.

Gitmo holds the worst of worst: rabid terrorists totally committed to killing as many Americans as possible. The current top operations officer of the Taliban was released from Gitmo. But if the idea of these maniacs brought over from the Middle East to be set free on our streets after stewing at Gitmo for awhile terrifies Americans, it must be because — according to Holder — we're a nation of cowards.

Holder has sided with terrorists before. But then, so have millions of American voters — by electing his boss.

This is what kakistocracy means.

On a tip from Viking04.

I look at these terrorism threads on various blogs and I just sigh, not knowing quite how to respond. I guess, just to be sucinct: This boy cannot keep us safe. Do I want him to?

Posted by: Karin at March 20, 2009 7:55 AM

I, for one, hope they release them in Ohio. We'll take care of them. ;)

Posted by: Paul H at March 20, 2009 8:01 AM

Gee, I feel safer with Obama releasing the poor mistreated refugees at Gitmo into the United States. Not

Posted by: Atomic Lib Smasher at March 20, 2009 8:02 AM

I have not problem releasing them into the US. You bethca!

Just "tag" 'em, so you can find them, shoot them, hang them, and bury them in a pig suit.

That is how to keep us safe.

Posted by: Franklin's Locke at March 20, 2009 8:04 AM

All this time I thought those 911 terrorist hunting tags you see in the back of pickup trucks were a joke! Does you think we are actually going to get to use them?
I keep thinking - they can't BE that stupid, can they?

Posted by: Nancy at March 20, 2009 8:11 AM

fyi, van - holder has also rescinded FOIA guidelines - he's all for withholding all information to the public for whatever reason. more sleight of hand?

Posted by: nancz at March 20, 2009 8:14 AM

Let's take up a collection and provide these released terrorists free housing within 20 blocks of the White House.

Let's take up a collection and provide these released terrorists free housing within 20 blocks of the White House.

What a stupid idea. They are a security risk and you can't allow them to be that close to the White Hou...

Oh wait, I see what you did there.

Moonbattery, where hateful, greedy, homophobic, bible thumpin',gun totin American racists can gather.Come all, Come now! Share your thoughts!

I have never seen such bigotry in such an adolescent manner. This endless whine over money being spent, yet you weren't complaining when it was being spent to kill Iraqis. You are not bitching when a minority is not hired or fired for their religion, sexual preference, or race. It seems this site is an example of the republican base, not individual thought. "tax cuts, kill,God,and murderers". Assholes need to pay attention.

Posted by: Jesus at March 20, 2009 10:58 AM

Well, then, "Jesus," you can invite the "detainees" to stay with you. I'm sure they'll appreciate your progressive worldview.

Posted by: Pam at March 20, 2009 11:14 AM

JESUS, if they is "Hey Zeus", go back to Mexico and follow the legal procedures to enter America.

If you are impersonating JESUS Christ then you should know that taking the Lord name in vain has dire consequences.

Lastly, quit whining like a girly man and get busy mowing lawns or something.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 20, 2009 11:14 AM

how many detainees are guilty of doing nothing?. And like I said, leave it to one comment here to make some bigoted remark over mexicans, that is a pretty strong Christian view. I think that such bigotry would have "dire consequences"

Posted by: Jesus at March 20, 2009 11:32 AM

Jesus, you've got one point that I agree with you absolutely on.

You are not bitching when a minority is not hired or fired for their religion, sexual preference, or race.

Absolutely 100% correct. We are bitching when a minority is hired or fired (solely) for their religion, sexual preference, or race. And rightly so, because the only criteria which should be used in hiring or firing is qualifications, ability, and quality of work. Anything else is racism/sexism/sectism.

Or you could just call it "liberalism" as a handy catch-all.

Oh, sorry, 2 points of agreement:

Assholes need to pay attention.

...particularly when trying to be the smug troll with no understanding of the implications of the double-negative.

Posted by: hiram at March 20, 2009 11:35 AM

Just send em down Texas way. A few stakes, a little rope, and a big old fire ant mound should set them straight.

Posted by: Tom at March 20, 2009 11:42 AM

Hey fake Jesus, how many detainees went back to trying blow us up? Read the news much you ignorant Obama sycophant?

You have a problem with Van reporting the crap that the triune godless head of Obama / Reid / Peolsi is shoving down our gullets?

Follow history EVER?

• 1977, our country creates laws that require banks to make loans to people who will never pay them back on the basis of being “more fair” to the poor and minorities. Welcome affirmative action in home loans.
• Our banks bundle that debt into securities and sell it. Years later, it all collapses causing our current economic melt down. In rides the government to take it all over. Welcome socialism.
• On a state and federal level, we’ve created policies and tax law that sends our industry overseas. We are now rated the worst place to own a corporation.
• Again, on a state and federal level we’ve taken our education system and dumbed it down to the lowest common denominator (something our 12th graders may not even be able to define). We’ve stopped teaching certain elements of our history because it might include religion or be offensive to one out of a hundred students. We’ve done our best to remove educational choice and have indeed made it to where the government is in charge of education, instead of parents and private institutions. Our kids come out unable to function in any other role besides a societal drone. Control education to control the populous.
• Our government no longer uses the terms “War on Terror” “Terrorist” or “Enemy Combatant” in the name of political correctness. The UN has banned referring to people as Mr., Ms. or Mrs. in the name of political correctness. Pork barrel spending no longer called that. The fairness doctrine is anything but. Our language is being hijacked and we don't stop it.
• Our Commander and Chief was elected with such promises as creating a civilian security force with the size and funding of the US military, stopping the development of advanced weapons systems, and dismantling our nukes. Were we retarded when we went to the polls?
• The census enumerated in our Constitution is being brought under the direct control of the President.
• We have states targeting supporters of third parties and conservatives as possible terrorists.
• We have the White House directly going after a private citizen because they don't like his criticism.
• We have our federal law makers going after a local sheriff for enforcing the laws.
• We are creating an organization that will organize neighborhood by neighborhood and pledges not to support this country or it’s flag, but Obama and his plan. They are being organized and sent out to brow-beat people into supporting Obama, his plan and his policies.
• Gun control on State and National level is increasing. This is being done by direct bans on certain guns and ammo, levying of excessive taxes on guns and ammo, and at least one state requiring you to have a One Million Dollar insurance policy just to own a gun.
• Our military CHAPLAINS can't even use the word GOD anymore.

So, you really want to defend Obama and his slightly less liberal predecessor, Bush? Try. Though, at least Bush didn't try to disarm the public, military and airline pilots.

Posted by: Paul H at March 20, 2009 12:22 PM

Okay, well the last AG under a democratic administration burned 76 American citizens to death in Waco, Texas.
So I suppose Holder is just being consistent.

Or maybe it's his way of getting on top of Janet Reno.

Posted by: Fiberal at March 20, 2009 12:33 PM

Fiberal, I was afraid that was going to happen to those poor mormons last year.

Can I try out my new Colt 1911 on them?

Posted by: Scaramouche at March 20, 2009 1:26 PM

Tom, I like the idea about the fire ant mound -- talk about payback being a bitch!

While I don't wish injury or death on anyone, I can see, clear as day, a bus full of school children or a political rally attended by hundreds of people being blown to bits by one of the released "detainees" [used to be able to call 'em what they are and were, TERRORISTS]. Gee, Eric, what'll you have to say about that? I know personally you won't give a damn, but how's that going to affect your Master's chances of re-election? Oh, well, nobody said these folks were particularly bright . . .

Posted by: jc14 at March 20, 2009 1:29 PM

@ Paul H - you are comparing Apples to Oranges.

The Mormon compound raids were Texas State initiated and led, not Federal from the start.

The other issue on that Mormon compound raid was that it was initiated by a Colorado Democratic Party Super Deligate who was found out to be full of lies and, well, your typical minority Democratic race bater.

I'm sure that your boss, God, will forgive me for breaking out the ammo to protect my family from terrorist scum . I might be an asshole, but I do pay attention, and I assure you that I will not allow harm to come to my family because some retarded (yes i said it) POTUS and his cowardly sidekick wont defend my family and I from terrorists who want to kill us,then too f-ing bad.

Posted by: Assholes need to pay attention at March 20, 2009 3:03 PM

I just could not help myself here. While reading through this nonsense of "Jesus", and "Anonymous" and "Paul" etc. I see some arrogance, and yes, certainly some cowards! I do however have to agree with the world's most famous Socialist...Jesus, and AG Holder that many Americans are cowards. Now you guys opened up this rhetoric, so deal with it. A point was made above, that many detainees are and have been innocent for years, however, many that have not had a trial to be proven guilty or innocent are SOBs. The idea that most of you are so ready to get them in your crosshairs is "bigoted", and "cowardly". I am not saying that disorder does not consume many individuals in the Middle East, but that is what seperates us. In addition, I like how most of you here will take a quote out of context, apply it to an entirely different topic. Your ilk did it with Michelle Obama,Mike Malloy, Stephanie Miller, Myself, and now Eric Holder. Oh, yeah, and didn't Saddam have WMDS?

Posted by: Kyle at March 20, 2009 3:43 PM

Once you 'bag em,' make sure you put a pork chop in thier mouths and point them away from Mecca where you leave em.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 20, 2009 3:45 PM

"Oh, yeah, and didn't Saddam have WMDS?"

He told his muslim friends that he did, and YOU LIBERALS objected to invading Iraq on the premiss that Saddaam would use WMDs against us.

So WE'RE cowards? How many "detainees" are YOU willing to invite into YOUR neighborhood? Just consider that they were all taken on the battlefield under arms and not wearing recognised uniforms, or having any sort of military identification which according to the RULES OF WAR and the GENIVIA CONVENTION means that they should have been shot on the spot.

But America was not alowed to actually fight this war because someone might be OFFENDED. That's why it's been going on for eight years, YOU LIBERALS, AMERICA HATERS and MUSLIM SYMPATHISERS won't alow it to end, just like you did durring the Viet Nam war.

Hundreds of thousands of deaths can be laid at your bloody feet.

Posted by: KHarn at March 20, 2009 3:57 PM

KHarn, every prominant Democratic Party Leader (oxymoron, I know) voted and supported taking out Saddam from the late 1990's because of all of the UN Sanction Violations. Clinton @ Clinton, PolPotLucy.....and the list goes on. Even "I voted for it, before I was against it" Horse Faced Kerry.

Leftoids only remember what they need to remember to stammer through the argument of the moment. Truth is like Kryptonite to them. Liberalism is a Mental Disorder = fact.

Posted by: Oiao at March 20, 2009 4:04 PM

"America haters"? Questioning ones love of country is measured quite not lie to the American people when it is going to cost them over 4,000 lives and ruin countless others. I suggest you get your knuckles off the pavement, and know that many Democratic Leaders did vote for it, but were given cherrypicked intelligence and pressured by your Republican thugs, and the Bush Crime Family. In addition, how many detainees were picked up in Iraq and Afghanistan of the 750? How many were bought and paid for? How many were Canadian? Or better yet, what threat did Iraq pose to the United States...EVER? And KHarn, when you make reference to a historical period in American history, or historical document at least spell it right. A typo is one thing, but a complete ignorance of the meaning behind a document makes me doubt you have any understanding of it. In addition, if in this 7th year of fighting, let me ask since you seem to think the "blood is at my feet"...why aren't you there? C'mon coward put your money where your mouth is. Our brave men and women have been ordered to fight in Iraq to keep your worthless ass alive from a country who never posed a threat to America. If your argument is that Saddam, who was a bastard, lied to his neighbors...the Middle East is in a arms race ass! Maybe you should have this conversation with Adam Kokesh or the other men and women at IVAW.

Posted by: Kyle at March 20, 2009 5:03 PM

Not to take anything out of context but wow, Kyle, you certainly run in some notable circles: Michelle Obama, Myself, and now (even) Eric Holder

So maybe the next time you sit down with Eric, you could remind him that he has been affirmative actioned into the job of top law enforcement officer and lawyer for the U.S. government (remind him gently), and should not be advocating for foreign entities.
You could also suggest that maybe he should not continue to conduct himself as a terrorist sympathizer as he has done in the past (Mussoui, case in point).

You know, just so guys like us here rubes don't run off and mistake Mr. Holder for some kind of incompetent, know-nothing, race-climbing, lacky, enemy-loving, facist America hater.

I'm just sayin.

Posted by: Fiberal at March 20, 2009 5:35 PM

Hmm, so every successful African-American that achieves power in the country was "affimative actioned" in to their position? That is awfully racial now isn't it? Ooops, sorry I forget which blog I was on. And this old rhetoric of "terrorist sympathizer" is a joke. That people in this country recognize the Rule of Law and International Law serves a purpose when you choose to start a war on a tactic. And because that tactic confuses you right-wingers about the details of the Geneva Conventions. The rhetoric and dialogue here demonstrate a behavior not so different than those you wish to kill.

Posted by: Kyle at March 20, 2009 5:44 PM

Kyle, you should go find something else to do. Maybe you could ease my tax burden a little by being productive member of society.

I love how brainless idiots like you accuse anyone on the right of being racists, yet the eyes of many Americans have been opened to the fact that it is indeed the LEFT that is full of racist pieces of crap like Obama and his wife, Rangle, Reid, Pelosi, and rest of the cast and crew of the Hollywood production that is our government. Robert KKK Byrd ring a bell? Typical white person anybody? No jobs for white construction works jog your memory? As a staunch pro-liberty pro-do-whatever-the-hell-you-want-if-its-legal Libertarian (with a strong fiscal conservative streak) I can tell you objectively the most racist, race-baiting, race-exploiting part of society is the left, not the center, and not the right.

Just because someone calls it like it is about affirmative action, doesn't make it a racist comment. I've lost a many jobs opportunities in the past - especially at universities - for refusing to fill in the race questionnaire on the application. For true, un-racist practices people need to STFU about race as an issue and look at a persons words, actions and abilities. End of story.

Posted by: Paul H at March 20, 2009 6:12 PM

so every successful African-American that achieves power in the country was "affimative actioned" in to their position?
Go back and re-read the comment. More slowly this time.
Was I talking about Clarence Thomas?

That people in this country recognize the Rule of Law and International Law serves a purpose when you choose to start a war on a tactic. And because that tactic confuses you right-wingers about the details of the Geneva Conventions.
This is way over-interpreted and over-attributed with respect to my comment.

BTW labeling your Eric a terrorist sympathizer does not directly invoke the Geneva Convention. Unless of course, you are implying that releasing captured terrorists in American towns is somehow consistent with the intent of the GC. If so, then maybe you and your Eric don't really grasp the idea of a "Death-to-America" type of enemy.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 20, 2009 7:20 PM

You never hear more gratuitous racism than from the mouths of liberals. Liberals are committed, dedicated racists by merit of their chronic focus on race. They spend a lot of time on congratulating themselves for their enlightened egalitarianism so that for the liberal, the worse possible accusation you can make is one of racism.
From what I gather, their primary purpose in trolling this site seems to be to look for racism. Ambitious, huh?

And yes, that "affirmative action/equal opportunity" are-you-the-correct-race form gets to me too. In not filling it out, your application could very well be flagged as someone who will not fit in and then summarily rejected.

But if you are not in academics, take it from one who has been there and back: it is stocked with cold-blooded losers with carefully crafted hair-trigger sensitivities. Not a suitable place for free thought.

Posted by: Fiberal at March 20, 2009 8:54 PM

I suggest you get your knuckles off the pavement, and know that many Democratic Leaders did vote for it, but were given cherrypicked intelligence and pressured by your Republican thugs, and the Bush Crime Family.

If the Democrats involved with the Congressional oversight committee that analyzes our intelligence briefs couldn't figure out that all was not as it seems, if the Congressional Democrats that fought so loudly against reform of Fannie and Freddie couldn't find their voices, if the Congressional Democrats that managed to essentially call the sitting President a retard couldn't muster up a voice of opposition, well then Kyle, they're a bunch of stupid, cowardly, idiots. Wasn't the vote 97-3 in the Senate? And your brilliant analysis is that they were all fooled by evil Boooosh?

Then they're absolute, incurable morons who shouldn't be running a lemonade stand, much less our country.

At least we can apparently agree on how utterly useless and harmful to America your party's leaders have consistently proven themselves to be.

A nice summary on the enthusiasm of liberals for lies and evasion, and the willful inability of useful idiots to see it.
