Hey VH, might wanna take a look at this. I'd love to see your take on it.

Posted by: Atomic Lib Smasher at March 24, 2009 11:30 AM

I hope that many of you have looked at what you criticize and debate. "Bearded Liberals", a "Teleprompter", "the unfortunate act of Ted Kennedy" NEARLY 40 YEARS AGO! ETC. While some on the left offer equally shallow critique, it did and has not appeared as such a stretch. I can tell some of you are well studied, but much of this race baiting, and gender baiting should, at this point in America be below all of us. Before anyone starts telling me to get a life/job..this is my job. Debate the actual issues. For eight years the left did the work to find out who was getting preference from the Bush White House, and many reached to tie 9/11 to them...I was not one of the the "thruthers", but saw distinct corruption. Oh, and for the record, the lefties you attracted to your site was a petty little cheap shot at Stephanie Miller. Get to actual facts, and until then you measure up to nothing more than failed writer Bret Prelutsky

Posted by: aka at March 24, 2009 11:34 AM

That is just so wrong...and on so many levels to boot!

Posted by: Cliff47 at March 24, 2009 11:40 AM

"the unfortunate act of Ted Kennedy" NEARLY 40 YEARS AGO! ETC.

So, then, we can expect you liberals to stop whining about Jim Crow (100 years ago) and slavery (150 years ago).

No, I rather thought not.

Funny how you neo-Marxists have all of a sudden decided that dissent is unpatriotic.

Diaper rash got you down?

Posted by: Farmer Ted at March 24, 2009 11:52 AM

AKA, manslaughter has no statue of limitations, and manslaughter by a government official is and always should be an issue.

Just like having a "President" who spends inordinate amounts of money to keep his birth and college records locked up and who apparently can hardly recite his name without a teleprompter is an issue.

Where is the race baiting? Where is the gender baiting? How are the amusing caricatures here more offending than the Bush as a monkey cartoons that ran in the Guardian for years???

Indeed, there are real issues today, and the satirical use of humor is one of the means to address them.

I await your post on this:

I hit the ceiling when I read it.

Posted by: Wannabe Anglican at March 24, 2009 12:25 PM

burt prelutsky is hardly a failed writer. he's a very nice man to boot!

Posted by: nancz at March 24, 2009 12:28 PM

"The unfortunate act of Ted Kennedy" Man, how sanitized can you get. If your own wife, daughter or mother were left to drown by a drunken lout who then tried to pin it on his cousin, then got away with it, would you call that an "unfortunate incident?"
Do the Goldings and the Browns call 1995 "a most unfortunate year for us all?"

aka, you are an amoral tool.

Posted by: Karin at March 24, 2009 12:41 PM

FAILED writer Bill Prelutsky? FAILED???????

He wrote episodes for MASH, the Governor and JJ, Rhoda..... those shows all STUCK IT TO THE MAN!

/keep on truckin liberal potheads!

Before anyone starts telling me to get a life/job..this is my job.

Your job is to comment on right-wing blogs?

Posted by: cowlove at March 24, 2009 2:35 PM

AKA, we all know you're really a sock puppet for Ed Asner.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 24, 2009 2:35 PM

cowlove, how could you be so insensitive?

"aka" trolls right wing HATE sites looking for racism, ageism, homo-ism, commie-ism and all other "isms". He does this while engaging in his favorite pastime, onanism.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 24, 2009 2:39 PM

Sorry to ignore the train of thought on the comments here but I wanted to ask about TOTUS.

This video from yesterday, clearly shows two. (Is that TOTUSES, TOTI, or simply twins?) Was it TOTUS that seems to have tried to alert POTUS to the first mispronunciation? Couldn't TOTUS have stopped and refused to continue (somehow signaled) until the mistake was explained and corrected so the POTUS could have smiled, thanked whoever corrected him instead of continuing to mispronounce Orion?

Is there an "evil" twin at work here?

Posted by: bertie at March 24, 2009 2:41 PM

AKA, you've obviously mistaken this site for a stodgy, academic site. Was it the name or the logo that threw you?

Anonymous at March 24, 2009 2:39 PM

Oh ok, that clears it up some I suppose. I was really just asking in case there were any openings.

Posted by: cowlove at March 24, 2009 2:48 PM

The comments here just proved my point. The things used for against Ted Kennedy are childish and lame at best. If you wish to have that argument over family money bailing out a loser, ...oh nevermind. The right keeps serving up the same so-called humor that has made Victoria Jackson such a great success...oooops! my bad

Posted by: AKA at March 24, 2009 4:41 PM

The real problem is that the left keeps on serving up the same failed ideas and the same lame jokes. . . except they call them candidates.

Obama. . . oooooops! Your bad.

Posted by: JustAl at March 24, 2009 4:59 PM

aka (LOWER CASE) funny how you can only describe something you don't even know as 'childish and lame' two things with which you are so familiar.

Come up with something better.

Oh, and answer the questions:

1. are you a sock puppet for Ed ASSner?
2. are you the president of your local Liberals for Onanism club?
3. is your profession really to troll right wing websites?

otherwise, FOAD.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 24, 2009 5:15 PM

Heh, Obama's teleprompter is live tweeting "behind the scenes" from the press conference

He has quite some insight into "the Big Guy" (as he likes to call him).

Actual citizens don't want Gitmo detainees chilling in their neighborhood

An outcry is growing in Alexandria over a prospect no one seems to like: terrorist suspects in the suburbs.

"We would be absolutely opposed to relocating Guantanamo prisoners to Alexandria," Mayor William D. Euille (D) said. "We would do everything in our power to lobby the president, the governor, the Congress and everyone else to stop it. We've had this experience, and it was unpleasant. Let someone else have it."

The 2006 death penalty trial of Zacarias Moussaoui, who was convicted of conspiring in the terrorist attacks of Sept, 11, 2001, turned the neighborhood into a virtual encampment, with heavily armed agents, rooftop snipers, bomb-sniffing dogs, blocked streets, identification checks and a fleet of television satellite trucks.

Obama Has Hissy Fit Over Reporter's Question

If he can't handle a simple question from the American Press, which is slavishly subservient to the liberal agenda, then how is he going to handle Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Osama bin Laden, etc?

The World Sees the End of America

“Helicopter Ben Bernanke’s Federal Reserve is dropping trillions of fresh paper dollars on the world economy, the President of the United States is cracking jokes on late night comedy shows, his energy minister is threatening a trade war over carbon emissions, his treasury secretary is dithering over a banking reform program amid rising concerns over his competence and a monumentally dysfunctional U.S. Congress is launching another public jihad against corporations and bankers. As an aghast world — from China to Chicago and Chihuahua — watches, the circus-like U.S. political system seems to be declining into near chaos. Through it all, stock and financial markets are paralyzed. The more the policy regime does, the worse the outlook gets. The multi-ringed spectacle raises a disturbing question in many minds: Is this the end of America?”

"But America is at risk in other ways, especially in the technical business of setting and executing policy. The presidency of Barack Obama has set out on a course that has no precedent in U.S. history….Reform of health care,” (which means socialized medicine administered by a vast liberal bureaucracy adding trillions to the debt) “environmental policy,” (extorting businesses with crippling fines for CO2 emissions if they don’t donate enough money to the DNC) “education,” (oh yes, that great education system –made all the worse by the flood of illegal aliens no one in the two-party system is ever going to deport) “energy, banking, regulation — every nook and cranny of the U.S. economy has been put on alert for major change.” (which means Hugo Chavez-style nationalization by the aforementioned liberal Democrat bureaucrats.) “[The Obama] expansion of government spending, plunging the U.S. into unprecedented deficits, is without parallel. In economic policy, through regulation and control of energy output, financial services and monetary expansion, the U.S. government has embarked on a fundamental reshaping of America. It is designed, in short, to bring on the end of America.”

Washington, D.C., March 19, 2009—The Competitive Enterprise Institute, a leading free-market think tank, plans to recognize “Human Achievement Hour” between 8:30pm and 9:30pm on March 28, 2009. The new one-hour holiday coincides with Earth Hour, a period of time during which governments, individuals, and corporations have agreed to dim or shut off lights in an effort to draw attention to climate change.

“We are so proud that millions of people plan to show their appreciation for human achievement by doing things like eating dinner, watching television, going to the movies, and brushing their teeth,” says Human Achievement Hour Founder and CEI Policy Analyst Michelle Minton. “Never before has a new holiday caught on so quickly.”

Even Teleprompter can't help Obama if it doesn't have sounds

Everyone knows that Barack Obama is lost without his teleprompter, but his latest blunder, courtesy of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, via the Corner, suggests that the teleprompter may not be enough unless it includes phonetic spellings. Obama was speaking at a White House roundtable on clean energy systems, and repeatedly saluted Orion Energy Systems, whose CEO, Neal Verfuerth, was present at the event. So Obama referred to "Orion" a number of times. Only problem was, he appeared to be unfamiliar with the word:

All terrific press for Orion, except that Obama kept pronouncing the company's name wrong, calling it OAR-ee-on.

Unbelievable. Orion is one of the best-known constellations, mostly because it actually looks like its namesake. So evidently we have to add astronomy to history and economics as subjects of which Obama is remarkably ignorant. I'm beginning to fear that our President has below-average knowledge of the world. Not for a President, but for a middle-aged American.
