New ACORN Revelations

Despite a conspicuous lack of interest by the mainstream media, more information is coming to light regarding ACORN, which in turn illuminates the nature of our current government.

A lawyer for a whistleblower on the activist group ACORN is prepared to tell a House panel Thursday that the group provided liberal causes with protest-for-hire services and coerced donations from the targets of demonstrations through a mob-style "protection" racket.
ACORN called it the "muscle for the money" program, according to prepared testimony Pittsburgh lawyer Heather Heidelbaugh plans to deliver at a hearing of the House Judiciary subcommittee on the Constitution, civil rights and civil liberties. …
The protest shakedowns are among a slew of accusations that Ms. Heidelbaugh intends to make against the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. She also will accuse the nonprofit group of violating tax, campaign-finance and other laws by sharing a list of President Obama's maxed-out campaign donors to solicit more funds for a get-out-the-vote drive.

Accusations against ACORN

range from unlawfully coordinating campaign activity with Mr. Obama's presidential campaign to deliberately engaging in voter-registration fraud and misusing federal grant money.

As readers will recall, shady dealings between Obama and the leftist thugs at ACORN emerged during the campaign:

The "official" program is the name of the ACORN voter-registration drives. The Obama campaign paid an ACORN affiliate group more than $800,000 for these get-out-the-vote services during the primary race, though the expenditure was initially misrepresented to the Federal Election Commission as for "sound and lighting equipment," but later corrected.
The "unofficial" program collected payments to organize protests. For example, the Service Employees International Union hired ACORN to harass the Carlyle Group, a global private equity firm. Other paid protests targeted Sherwin-Williams, H&R Block, Jackson Hewitt and Money Mart, according to the testimony.
The protests then became a way to extract corporate donations.
"The protesting was used to get companies to negotiate. The companies would pay money to get the protesting to stop," Ms. Heidelbaugh said, quoting Ms. Moncrief's court testimony. "In addition to calling this activity 'Muscle for the Money,' the insiders at ACORN called it 'protection.'"

In addition to this extortion racket, ACORN

…came under fire during the campaign after probes into suspected voter fraud in a series of presidential battleground states, including Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, New Mexico and Nevada.

Unsurprisingly, Obama recently turned to these trustworthy operatives to help him get the numbers he wants for the 2010 census.

Chairman Zero's connection with this malignant organization goes back so far that he used to be known as the Senator from ACORN. He has personally trained ACORN activists in their goon tactics, and directly helped them force banks to make bad loans based on race under the insane Community Reinvestment Act — directly contributing to our current financial crisis.

Basically, ACORN constitutes Obama's shock troops — until he can put together his own private Sturmabteilung.

That Americans would knowingly choose to be ruled by this scum is inconceivable. Sooner or later, an awareness of the type of forces taking over the country is going to seep past Obama's and ACORN's media enablers.

I want to see a harsh takedown performed on these people.

I would love to see them dragged off in 'cuffs.

"Muscle for Money" sounds like the kind of sleazy operation that would be run out of Barney Frank's basement.

How more stuff needs to come about them before they are indicted. When does RICO laws start to kick in here.

This organization needs to be frogged marched and shown what it is. THE MOB!

Its time ACORN was cracked clean wide open and its rotten purtid core exposed

Why can't some unempoyed patriotic American conservatives volunteer for this 'organization' and tear it open from the inside? I would be happy to help out, but as I am still working, I can't.

This article comes from The Washington Times - a paper founded and run by tax cheat Scum Myung Moon.

Hardly a credible source.

You guys ever notice how the Left never questions the credability of the source when it's in their favor?

Something tells me there won't be any "Erin Brockovich" or "The Insider" type movies glorifying the whistleblower.

Hope she doesn't do a 'Vince Foster' on her way to testify.

Dont forget ACORN were the bunch of hooligans who invaded congressional HQ a few years ago waving food trays and accusing the GOP of wanting to starve kids. If any group deserves to lose its tax exempt status its ACORN

Ipse dixit fallacy and Ad hominem.

Example: Bob says that we should spend more state revenue on education. But Bob is a professor who wants a better salary -- so you know that his opinion is worthless.
