Careful About Answering Your Doorbell

You can't ignore Obamunism. Not only will it destroy you financially, Obamamites will even come banging on your door, demanding fealty to their pencil-necked socialist lord.

I wonder what database you go into if you respond with "Get the hell off my property."

To quote the Bride of Obama:

Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual.

Failure to comply will meet with a notation that a "domestic terrorist" lives at this address.

Are you scared yet or are you a moron?
Be afraid very, very afraid.

I wonder when the concentration camps will start?

Posted by: FREE at March 21, 2009 8:16 AM

So now I have to get a "No Obamunists" sign to place next to the "No Solicitors" sign?

Posted by: PabloD at March 21, 2009 8:18 AM

Hmmm...10 guage or 12 gauge....10 gauge or 12 gauge.

Just kidding. It's hard to get too worked up over this. This'll fail miserably and become a good joke/talking point, as well as to throw some cold water in the face of the Obama people who thought they would take their canvassing army through the four years of the administration. I predict this is the last we'll ever see of the famed, notorious canvassing army.

With tht said, no doubt a major network, cable station or at least dailykos will report this as a HUGE, unprecedented, historic success, complete with video clips of a few canvassers annoying people. But I predict there will be no more than a few hundred or thousand people involved and this strategy of annoying neighbors will be quietly thrown under the bus.

Going door to door for Hope and Change was fun and cool in October. Bothering your neighbors over the details of a stimulus spending bill - tedious and complicated.

Posted by: mega at March 21, 2009 8:21 AM

One can only hope mega. One can only hope that there is a change in the grass roots support for this.

I agree with you that this will not have the same scale of commitment as was the pre-election day support.

However, I fear that this is just a 'test run', to determine who the core loyalists are, as well as shake out the technology and process for when ACORN and Obama Youth start going door to door in the next couple of years.

Man critical of Obama case judge visited by marshals

'I told your Gestapo goons we had nothing to talk about'
A Washington, D.C., man who believes Barack Obama probably isn't eligible to be president – and colorfully stated as much to a federal judge who dismissed a case challenging Obama's residency in the White House – says he got a visit from U.S. marshals for his exercise of free speech.

oh please, God, *please* let one of those idiots knock on my door, or try to recruit me at the grocery store. PLEASE. i'll even forgo my usual saturday 'let me win the lottery' beg for this one.

Does this remind anyone else of the creepy Dharma Initiative videos from Lost?

Posted by: I pledged to the FLAG at March 21, 2009 10:03 AM

Oh no, canvassing! Just like... every other group that's ever wanted support, ever. How insidious!

Honestly, this is what you're comparing to the Hitler Youth? Gah... as a political movement this couldn't possibly be any more ordinary.

I agree that's what all or some of this is about, Oaio. I think it will fail. They want to see if their "army" of door pounders can be resurrected for specific political projects, and I bet the answer will be no. It was FUN and new and exciting and different and cool and sexy to get together with friends and chicks and go door to door for hopey change. And no doubt a few of them will find this fun and new too. But I predict this'll be the end of the idea of a civilian army of canvassers on perpetual mobilization.

NB: They kept their post-election email spam machine running into March, begging for $5 or $10 each time. I got around 3-5 of those per day from David Plouffe. But a few weeks ago I read that people'd been communicating back, basically, "get out of my face already."

as with all things Obama, we can expect them to always overplay their hand and then back off as needed.

Anyway, I haven't seen a single person canvassing, and I live in a rabid hotbed of Obama supporters and young, mobilized lefties, Herndon Virginia, right outside DC, where there were dozens of teams beating down doors in November. Let's just say if it ain't happenin' here, it ain't happenin'.

I hear you man. I live up the road from you in Columbia, MD, which is also a nauseating bastion of liberal White Guilt. Haven't seen them here yet, really hope I do.

Posted by: keepthechange08 at March 21, 2009 10:51 AM

But, I'll bet you that all the uptight white liberal self haters (mostly higher paid Gobment and Lobbiest) in upscale Davidsonville, Md are tripping over themselves to prove who got more names.

If you live in that area of Maryland, you know what I mean.

I am glad to see that there is a planned Tea Party for downtown Annapolis. Right in the smug bastards' faces. Expect white liberal self loathers to counter protest there.

Posted by: Oiao at March 21, 2009 11:34 AM

Now there's an idea, if one of these buffoons knocks on your door, cock your head like you hear something, ask them to wait a moment, then go to the kitchen and get a tea bag to give them. Waste their time AND give them a message.

Posted by: Mr Evilwrench at March 21, 2009 1:32 PM

Clever use of Youtube, real video, and editting in the captions and chant. As with so much pushed out by VanH, the game is to separate the grains of truth from the Hamburger Helper of hysteria, distortion, demagoguery and bile. Obama doesn't get credit for being the first to use a crisis to promote a radical agenda. Cripes, he's not even the first this century to do that. When it's the Rove/Cheney playbook used by Axelrod, the only question is: how do you like them apples?

Posted by: Fat Stanley at March 21, 2009 2:39 PM

These are ACORN Census Trainees who, like the Girl Scouts, win a prize for the most 'sign-ups.' The prize is the opportunity to dictate which FEMA Internment Camp gets all the "non-cooperatives."

Can't wait for the 2010 ACORN Census!

Posted by: Stymie at March 21, 2009 3:11 PM

Fat Stainly - you are so full of shit your eyes are brown.

Tell us all, liar, about the knocking on doors for Bush/Cheney and the pledge that people were asked to sign. Document it you lying piece of shit. GOD! I HATE LIARS!

You stupid brainwashed Obama-dick-sucking son-of-a-bitch. Go to hell, liar.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 21, 2009 3:53 PM

Can someone clarify just what in the hell fat stanley is jabbering about? These idiots get more and more vague every day.

Posted by: Right0fReagan at March 21, 2009 4:12 PM

If one comes to my door I'll begin telling them how much human flesh tastes just like pork. And maybe I'll drool a little.

Posted by: Corona at March 21, 2009 4:24 PM

Just another form of McCarthy era loyalty oaths.

Posted by: Purple Avenger at March 21, 2009 4:35 PM

Fat Stanley isn't worthy of our enmity. Pity anyone who has to skulk around on a website he has called pathetic for kicks.

These sheep are the reason peepholes and shotguns were made.

Posted by: Right0fReagan at March 21, 2009 6:30 PM

Just remember guys: With that stimulus going out and all those good paying jobs for these liberal fanatics start getting eaten up, they'll have that much less time devoted to serving the Obamassiah.

Growing up turns people into conservatives. Maybe, with jobs and responsibilities, they'll realize the folly of their ways. Unlikely though.

Posted by: Cheesecake at March 21, 2009 7:20 PM

Cheesecake,

They had better grow up fast. When the sh** hits the fan, and they are at my door begging for food and water, all they are going to get is led.

Being mature mostly means being able to provide for yourself.

When this Obama experiment in US politics blows up, be able to demonstrate that you are mature.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 21, 2009 7:37 PM

I think we're going about this the wrong way. When an Obamunist shows up at you door, first ask them to provide you with identification. Make sure you ask for their date of birth, home address and phone numbers, and write it all down right in front of them. Then ask them what would be a good time for you to visit their home, ring their doorbell, and ask them some personal questions of your own.

Posted by: bustoff at March 21, 2009 9:47 PM

Bustoff... you are my new hero. I will do this.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 21, 2009 10:04 PM

I waited ALL day and the only one who came was the mailman. He commented on the new shotgun tho'.

Posted by: Robohobo at March 21, 2009 10:41 PM

I got two Jehova Witnesses today who were very polite and wearing ties.

Damb, I was so dissapointed............

I'll let you know, especially if they leave walking funny with a boot in their a$$.

Posted by: TED at March 21, 2009 11:25 PM

The best thing that anyone could realistically do here is waste their time.

Seriously, invite them in, pour some tea, talk for hours, debate, etc.

Then release them back into the wild with no more time to "convince" anyone else.

What? Are they going to convince you? No, so what do you have to lose? Ask lots of questions about how they came to do this, where they trained, so on.

Get more than you give, and then send them off smiling.

Just an idea...

Posted by: Evil Monk at March 22, 2009 1:30 AM

Im going to make up my own pledge to abandon socialism and when they show up try to get them to sign.

Posted by: Russ at March 22, 2009 5:20 AM

I don't have a doorbell...I do have a Rottweiler though, hee hee! He hates liberals too!

Posted by: Wolf at March 22, 2009 5:24 AM

Nobody came to my house Saturday or greeted me in front of the grocery store except for some polite little Girl Scouts wanting to sell cookies. I examined the boxes to make sure it wasn't a ploy like if it had the little O symbol thing on the box, but it didn't, so I gladly paid my money and took my boxes of Thin Mints and Peanut Butter cookies.

Posted by: Atomic Lib Smasher at March 22, 2009 7:33 AM

I agree with this. The attention span is just not there. These people tend to be flighty, looking for the next party, or maybe looking for the next rent money.
Even the DU is starting to say some heretical things. The bots may be nervous about that "lock and load" sound.

Here's what Newsbusters had to say:

"By Michael M. Bates | March 23, 2009 - 14:15

On today's American Morning, CNN correspondent Jim Acosta covered the weekend canvass sponsored by the Democratic Party's Organizing for America. Volunteers collected signatures of support for Barack Obama and his agenda. Acosta's voice over, interspersed with statements from others, began:

Don't tell them the race is over. Once volunteers for the Obama campaign...a vast grassroots network of supporters is back on the trail. Reactivated. This time, to sell the president's agenda. Michael Lafemina was one of hundreds of volunteers who went door-to-door from New York...to California on behalf of something called Organizing for America, a project of the Democratic Party run by remnants of the Obama campaign.

So in a matter of seconds, Acosta's supposed vast grassroots network was reduced to only hundreds of people. Initial reports in other media suggest the response to Obama's personal call to arms was less than overwhelming.

According to the Christian Science Monitor:

The group (Organizing for America) claims that there were more than 1,200 canvassing groups out nationwide this weekend. But many places saw fewer volunteers than expected."

Teaparties had thousands. Brownshirts had 100's.
