Race Ideology Used to Prevent Children From Excelling

When socialist utopia is attained, we will all be as equal to each other as a box full of nails. However, some students violate the precepts of social justice by being intelligent and by striving to succeed. Ambitious middle school children have been signing up for high school classes as a way to achieve their potential…

But the nation's foremost scholars in middle-school education are worried the fast-growing trend is leaving minority children behind. They also question whether the practice is legal because, nationwide, it has tended to result in students being segregated by race.

Here we see why their obsession with race is so important to the moonbat totalitarians who dream of imposing absolute equality. You can't be allowed to achieve anything more that the laziest moron, because if you do, that would be racist. Any nail that stands out will be hammered down in the name of political correctness.

How else to create an entire nation of Henrietta Hugheses, who wouldn't dream of rebelling so long as their troughs are kept full of free slop?

No one is requiring or denying anyone entrance into these classes. How can something voluntary for everyone be called into question as "leaving minority children behind"?

Accelerated classes result in segregation by culture. Race has little to do with it.

If a kid comes from a home with two parents, is given good nutrition, is tended and loved and cared for, is taught from an early age about consequences and the rewards of effort, the kid will likely be far superior in academic achievement to a kid who is raised like a street rat with no care at all except minimum requirements to stay the hell out of the way and shut up.

What we are often talking about is culture and two completely different ways of raising kids. It is rather revealing that Blacks and those who apologize for them feel that recognition of this defective culture is racism.

The easy answer here is to make the middle-school classes more demanding, so that everybody has an equal chance to do hard work and learn something useful.

Dear Ruddie - Your idea makes so much sense it will never happen! Moreover the middle schools have been dumbed down to accommodate low achievers so as not to make them feel bad about themselves and in the process forced smart kids to look elsewhere for a challenge. Now they will be barred from doing so - the result will not deter some smart kids from achieving more, but it will hurt many,

The answer is segregation. I don't mean keeping blacks or whomever out of public schools, I mean segregating OURSELVES (i.e. anyone with intelligence and the desire to excel) out of the sewer that is the union-controlled, Marxist public school system.

It means setting up our own system and opting out of what the government "requires".

Expensive? Sure. It may mean you don't get that jet-ski or big screen TV. You must set your priorities.

Dangerous? Could be, if the government decides that they aren't getting ahold of enough kids to mold in their image.

Worth it? How much to you value freedom?

Here's a nice little piece from the quoted article:

This sentence is loaded:

1) An investigation is inevitable.

2) An investigation? Who sanctions the methods by which any such investigation would proceed?

3)Where would an investigation go? It defies belief to think that any "investigation" would conclude that white kids work harder or are smarter. The conclusion of an investigation would be decided in advance based on two politically correct assumptions 1)The one immutable constant across all cultures is IQ, and 2)disparities = discrimination.

3) Notice the non-sequitur: -"Officals at the federal Office of Civil Rights"- to - "some of the country's leading scholars." The kindest way to look at this sloppy writing/thinking is as an attempt by the author to put a legitimate legalistic and moral tone to what must rightly be perceived in the article to be a fallacy of criticizing the advancement of high achievers along racial lines. The better interpretation is that it is a jugheaded threat. say the ever-lovin' least.

Meh... sadly, it happens. I've seen competent (yes, really) minority students put on a lower academic track for no real reason. Real problem, stupid way to try to solve it.

It is a vicious, unfounded smear to allege that liberal ideology pulls us all down to the level of the slowest moron!

Why, if a Black child were to pull ahead in his studies, he would be upheld as an example of how Blacks can transcend racism. He might even be sent to a law firm as a fasttrack to the Presidency!

The answer is AMBITION. Some of those kids just want MORE. The kids that aren't doing anything (the lazy morons) would prefer the cradle-grave contract with democrats.

The same motivation -- hold the white kids back -- went into the "No Child Gets Ahead" act. It was a law saying, "pour massive resources into the lowest-performing pupils -- the indifferent, violent ones -- and stop worrying about the studious ones."

In other words, "Reinforce Failure At All Costs."

SnowSnake speaks the truth. Ultimately that's what it all comes down to. Education isn't rocket science, we've been doing it pretty well for several millenia -- until now, maybe.

I've been saving this rant for a full essay that I will "someday" right -- and I'm sure I'm not unique in my perspective of beliefs on this...

The PRODUCTION LINE MODEL OF EDUCATION MUST GO. Our schools are like assembly lines. Product (child) moves to station 1, operations x, y, and z are applied, then child moves to (promoted) station (grade 2) where additional operations are executed until...12 (or 13, depending on how we count them) out comes the final product.

This is just about the stupidest way to educate people that I can imagine. The entire premise of assembly line production is based on control of variance in the product from the raw inputs all the way through the line. This production line of education will work if ALL children fall within tight tolerances to the mean. (stddev of instructor's time would have to be very close to the mean, indeed.) Unfortunately, children are not uniformly graded steel. Hence, any child who is off the mean (even within 1 stddev) is getting the shaft whether they are above or below the mean. The consequences of this, most of them bad, are almost too many to enumerate.

We have the technology, we have the personnel, hell we even have the budget to make education a much more personalized experience where students advance as fast or as slow as they need to go. Having problems with math but excel at English? No problem, spend more time iterating through basic math packages and breeze through the English packages. You can do math in REM sleep but have problem pickup up French? Anyway, I'm sure you all get the idea.

Break the factory school model and the "racist" implications of talented kids skipping ahead becomes moot.

And once again -- SnowSnake is spot on. It's not race, it's culture. This should be so f'ing obvious by now that people who cry "racism" in these situations should be beaten by 2x4s. They sure as hell aren't helping anybody, especially the kids at the lower end of the socio-economic spectrum.

I substituted at a high school that had a magnet school coexisting with a mostly minority regular high school.I substituted for both the magnet and regular classes in math and science.

There was an attempt to expose the "regular" kids to the magnet school classes. In one "regular kids in a magnet class," a student hit me with an object when my back was turned while writing on the board. BTW, based on past behavior, I suspected a white student who was also on the baseball team. It's not race, it's culture.

Casting pearls before swine, putting many of them in that class.
