Homeless by Choice

Henrietta Hughes, the archetypal Obamunist, was showered with cash and given a free home after she bleated to The Anointed One that she wanted the government to give her a kitchen. Now it turns out that if Henrietta was homeless, it was by choice:

At President Obama's town hall meeting in Fort Myers on Tuesday, Henrietta Hughes stood up and told the President she has been homeless since 2003 and can't find a job.
She also says she's reach a dead end with government assistance and none of the local charity agencies will help.
However, a local organization is coming forward saying Hughes isn't being honest about how much help she's had in the past.
The director of We Care Outreach Ministry, Tanya Johnson, says just last month she offered Henrietta Hughes permanent housing and a place to stay free for three months, but Hughes refused.
"We would have allowed her to stay for the first 90 days, no income. You know free," said Tanya Johnson.
We Care Outreach Ministry is a faith based organization in Fort Myers.
Johnson says she also gave Henrietta and her son Corey, money, food and offered Corey job training courses, but it was refused.
"We have extended a lot of her services to her," Johnson said.

Despite being "homeless" since 2003, Henrietta and her son sold property for $47,000 in 2005.

Yet we're being asked to give up the economic freedom that enabled this country to become what it is so that shuffling herds of Henriettas can be spared from having to look for a job.

I guess Obama's "stage prop" wasnt properly vetted.

The reason why the White House wants to "supervise" the 2010 Census is to attempt to count transients like this woman, along with illegals, drug dealers, gang bangers and other criminals who dont want to be asked questions by census counters. Most of these people are in urban areas and counting them would boost their power.

Obama is just like Hugo Chavez. He's only getting started.

Why on earth would her son take the job training? Going to work would just interfere with his busy schedule of learning how to be a parasite.

Not mentioned in this snippet is that after her messiah said someone from his team would help her get a place to live it was actually a Republican state legislator and spouse that offered her a home rent free. While a Democrat talks a good game it is the Republican that actually delivers.

why should he check her background if he can't be bothered to check out his cabinet apointees????? HE JUST DOES NOT CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the taxpayers bought George W. Bush a new baseball stadium, but he's not black, so it couldn't have been welfare.

Miz Henrietta don't look like she's missed too many meals to me!
What kind of job does she want anyway? Nuclear physicist? CEO? Pro baseball player?

She's got a place to live now, let's see how long it takes her and her son to find some kind of job! Wal-mart greeter, McDonald's busboy, janitor?

My money says in 3 months she'll be on some kind of welfare and/or disability and the good folks who let her use their house will regret the way she maintains it and the friends her unemployed son brings around to their new neighborhood.

BTW where's Mr. Henrietta?

Ron, it's nice to see you here peddling an online book about BDS. Way to go, champ.

RON;
Bush is out of office. Obama and you Liberals are THE ESTABLISHMENT now. Suck it up and get to work.

I've got some catfood. I wonder if that would work for Ms. Hughes and her son. Wait, here's an old blanket; oh, that won't do, she's in Ft.Myers where it's 85 degrees.

HATERS!
Here's a poor woman who just wants a kitchen. The EVIL republican forced a complete house on her. Dont you see the ironic crime here? Now you expect her to maintain this house and control the people her son brings over?
You should be ashamed and embarrassed.
Now she's overwhelmed and dosent even have a maid to help.
I'm equally shure she bows to the obama alter and thanks him for the gifts.
I gotta go outside and puke.

This story just takes the cake for today.

Well I DO appreciate more information about Henrietta, the fact she sold property says she is certainly not as down and out as she initially appeared. That was in 2005, so for 3 years she and her son seem to have lived off of 47K plus a state check. Her parents own a house in rochester NY.

But before you jump on her, the case really was NOT made that she was homeless by choice. For that you are going to need more info. If Henrietta is gaming the system, I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW, but alas getting those facts is not easy. Bernie Madoff though. . . . lets not focus too heavily on the Henriettas, lets go for the big boys and show no tolerance for their thieving of millions and millions.

She looks well dressed for being homless

gomergirl, the number of exclamation points doesn't really help your assertion here.

Please produce evidence that Henrietta was a plant, because otherwise there is no reason to vet a speaker at a gathering.

I think Obama vetted his candidates plenty, please produce some evidence that he blew it off.
Otherwise, it look like I can't accept even for an instant your assertion that he does not care.

Why don't we start by being critical of Daschle and just not jump to conclusions that there is evidence that OB KNEW he nominated a tax cheat. Best for this all to come out in the vetting process, better to come out during confirmation hearings, worse after he is already appointed, so THANKS right/conservative circles for raising you voices about Daschle and the other tax cheats that deserve no cabinet appointment, but don't go too far now.

I hate to break it to you but what you think means nothing to the posters here. Your unwarranted sense of self-importance is embarassing.

and annoying.

hey fine ahht, keep hanging around: Spurwing Plover could use some sensitivity training. Apparently his/her sense of fashion was offended by freeloadin' Henrietta dressing up to address the President. Her 15 minutes of fame actually argues FOR the Bush practice of hand-picking the attendees at at town meeting.

Thanks Anonymous for outing yourself is such a way.
I am glad you broke it to me, quite glad.

"I hate to break it to you but what you think means nothing to the posters here. Your unwarranted sense of self-importance is embarassing."

I'm not presenting what I think so much as making statements. You attempt to speak for your fellow posters is ineffective, they are able to speak for themselves.

I speak to posters and to readers of this site.

Fat_Stanley, Thanks. Too stage managed. I guess it's permissible in certain situations to keep things on track, but in general the president should be able to field questions from a slice of the audience or he should not field questions from the audience.

The Gannon scandal, the herding of press people into "siberia" the Bush team favored more control of the questions he was presented with on camera. It seems to be a retreat from credible and loyal and respectful opposition only because they declare their opposition honestly.
