Chairman Zero's Tailspin Begins

Right after the hype fest of the Moonbat Messiah's coronation, The Anointed One had a Strongly Approve rate of 44% and a Strongly Disapprove rate of 14%, with an approval index of +30. After two weeks of the public watching this post turtle try to govern, the rates are 37% and 22%, respectively; the approval index has been cut in half, despite a media obsequiously devoted to propping him up. At this pace his positive ratings will last another two weeks.

No amount of propaganda is going to turn an adolescent Marxist into a competent American President. However, if Obama takes the establishment media down with him, but not the entire economy, this whole debacle will leave us better off in the end.

On a tip from Karin.

Looks like it's time to "modify" the parameters of the index...

If there's one positive to come out of Oblahblah's ascension, it's watching liberal idiots trying to figure out what's wrong... the look on their faces when they start to actually think is priceless! They can tell that something is fundamentally not right, but the truth is so far outside their worldview that they just can't face it. The resulting paradox is kinda like on that Star Trek episode where Kirk & Spock burn out that robot's processors with the "everything I say is a lie / everything he says is the truth" schtick.

Really, you can almost see the migraine on their forheads as they try to come to grips with reality.

There's something missing here. What could it be?
Oh, now I remember. The residents of the mid-south especially in Kentucky are still reeling from ice storms that crippled the state. People are still without electricity. Where is the moonbat media chastising The Annoited One's lack of response? Where's FEMA? Where's the National Guard.

This is Obama's "Katrina" and the microphone jockeys from MSNBC and NPR are can be found no where near the devastation. Where is the scowl-faced Sean Penn, with the perpetual coffin nail clenched in his mouth, his sleeves rolled up "helping" the rescue crews? Too cold for ya Sean? You wimp. Not enough of a photo opportunity for you? Where's Kanye West calling out the Moonbat Messiah for not doing enough for "his people?" Is Obama going to say "he's doing a heck of a job" in defense of FEMA's director? Is he going to fire him? The Annointed One's PR firms are hard at work trying their best to keep the sheen on their chosen leader's armour. They have their work cut out for them, but I'm sure they are up to the task.

Aside from a few news clips of trees covered in ice, there's been very little attention paid, and yet this bitter cold that has gripped much of the East is far deadlier than 90 degree heat. Much of KY is easily as "poor" as N.O. and yet we hear the crickets chirping.
I don't have time to do it, but it would be interesting to see the casualty lists of N.O. and the ice storm side-by-side. Freezing to death isn't as exciting to the MSM as drowning, apparently.
It's going to take a major effort to get these toadies in the media to do their bleeping jobs.

Posted by: NC Steve at February 4, 2009 10:30 AM

NC Steve: You know the reason for the chirping crickets (as far as ice-cold KY goes) -- most all the victims are far too WHITE, though the "mainstream" media will never say that. Not enough minorities to wail about, and no Republican in office to rail against, as well.

Those "approval" ratings are dropping like a rock (just as the Obambi administration is falling into ever-greater incompetence each and every day -- "Not enough tax cheating criminals? We'll find some more!"). Soon, look for a massive PR campaign to "help the President pass his legislative agenda for 'Change' (read: Socialism)," and an equally massive effort to shut down all dissent (read: talk radio), lest we not be forcibly converted to good little Maoists, working full-time for the government (read: our Dear Leader, our Fuehrer, Emperor for Life Barack Milhous No-obama).

Six months. "O"s approval numbers will be close to the left-wing's anti-Christ, George Bush. You wait and see.

Between the economy, his (mis)handling of political appointments, Bloggo, not being "left" enough for the Kos crowd, a possible terror attack, the "stimulus" bill and a host of other botched jobs, this guy will be effectively "lame duck" by this fall.

"O" might just stand for "O"ne term-er!

In six months his approval raitings will be as low as SanFran Nan's 111th congress.

Heh. Remember when Biden said this?

"This guy has it. But he's gonna need your help. Because I promise you, you all are gonna be sitting here a year from now going, 'Oh my God, why are they there in the polls? Why is the polling so down? Why is this thing so tough?' We're gonna have to make some incredibly tough decisions in the first two years. So I'm asking you now, I'm asking you now, be prepared to stick with us. Remember the faith you had at this point because you're going to have to reinforce us."

"There are gonna be a lot of you who want to go, 'Whoa, wait a minute, yo, whoa, whoa, I don't know about that decision'," Biden continued. "Because if you think the decision is sound when they're made, which I believe you will when they're made, they're not likely to be as popular as they are sound. Because if they're popular, they're probably not sound."

They knew.

"Obama Dozed! People Froze!"

I think Obama's most serious deficiency lies in the terrorism issue. He has gone so soft on this that an attack is certain. He will be toast. He's so incredibly naive, like a teenage geek at Democratic Underground.

Not to get too personal, but do you ever wake up at 4:00 am and get scared? I do sometimes, and this morning it happened to me. I thought to myself, "this boy cannot protect me."

I'm with Hiram - it's hysterical watching the libtards try to process it and come up only with a steaming pile of cognitive dissonance. Until they let go of that ginormous Messiah lie they sold themselves, they will never be able to understand, either.

What's really funny is watching so many in the media, from SNL to serious thinkers on the left, resort to the Bush/Palin bashing or, now, waste cycles (and ad dollars) taking on Rush. It's like they simply do not know what to do or how to function or think now that they are in power. They are still searching for boogeymen past and present to explain the utter shit taking place. With Bush gone, they are down to blaming it all on a friekin' radio show. And suspects that deep down, they know they are just assembling straw men one after another to take out their angst at a totally failed, plummeting situation they created and are stuck in.

A simple chart of the stock market from election day to now speaks the complete, unedited truth - an initial jolt of optimism followed by a relentless, grinding collapse of expectations, hope and optimism. The leftards can put any spin on it they want, but everyone understands at some level that it's just talk, and where people are or are not willing to put their money - that's where the honesty resides.

mega, I've been thinking lately a lot about what you point out in your last paragraph. You know what would make a funny and very relevant movie would be one about a guy that runs for president. He's so bad that he frightens the stock market into a downward spiral even before he's elected. He wins and uses the downward spiraling stock market which HE caused to come up with some of the worst legislation ever proposed. This causes the stock market to really go in a tailspin. He uses this to justify emergency presidential powers.

It would be a black comedy. No pun intended. I think it would probably end with the country in grinding poverty and fighting a world war brought about by his shortsighted policies. But the president would be known as a great statesman and have his bust on Mount Rushmore.

Kevin, that movie doesn't sound funny at all! That's too damn close to home!

Posted by: Karin at February 4, 2009 2:58 PM

Mega and KevinR

What is really funny about the stock market is what happens during the day. It is like an old black and white movie where the submarine commander looks through the periscope and sees destroyers heading for him. "Dive, Dive. Dive. Whooop! Whooop!" And then closeups of a lot of sweaty faces.

That is what happens at the exchange every time Obama speaks. Even today. It was at +50. He spoke and it went down -150 in about an hour.

Right now, I agree he is trying to create an emergency to force through the idiotic stimulus bill. If it works with the brain dead senate this time, he will continue to use the tactic.

Posted by: SnowSnake at February 4, 2009 5:35 PM

Yep, I agree, Kevin.

During the summer it became evident that the unqualified socialist naif *might* become president, and the market started diving. In September it became clear he would probably win, and the market crashed. When he won, there was the typical short-term relief-on-the-news bear rally, which predictably petered out quickly. Since then, it has been in a tailspin.

We're now at a very critical point in the market. DOW 8,000, a crucial psychological support level, is in the process of being taken out and could collapse for real in the next day or two. The next significant event would be a retest of the November lows. I've been trading seriously for 25 years and I will tell you this, if those November lows are violated, which is just a few % from here, really just a few bad market days from where we're at right now, it will be pandemonium like no one is ready for. Traders controlling trillions of $ are itchily watching to see if those Nov lows hold and will sell immediately in massive volume if they don't, and that would have astounding impact cutting across the markets and the economy. True, Obama would be finished, but so would many tens of millions of Americans, so it would not be a happy day.

The saddest part is, if the government had just done nothing at all, we would've had a serious stock market correction in Sept-Oct, a bunch of parasitic banks and investment houses would've gone belly up, and it would all be over and we'd be starting to recover now.

The more evil sister liberals can spend on pork the less we,ll have to keep this nation going the ulitmate plans of evil commie scoundrels

Posted by: Spurwing Plover at February 4, 2009 7:51 PM

Oh well leftards, we beat those damn conservatives and Republicans in an election, and that's what really matters, right?
