A Tax on Each Toilet Flush

Posted by Dave Blount at February 18, 2009 10:06 AM

The flaky environmentalism fad has been a huge boon to government, which can use it to justify greedy levels of taxation on every last aspect of human existence. Now comes a tax on flushing your toilet in Australia. Enthuses Adelaide University Water Management Professor Mike Young:

Some people may go as far as not flushing their toilet as often because the less sewage you produce, the less sewage rate you pay.

Won't that smell wonderful? When people get tired of wearing clothespins on their noses and finally flush, the government gets to gobble a little more wealth.

The idea must have been inspired by complaints of Big Brother flushing our money down the toilet.
