Democrats Plan Blitzkrieg Approach to Nationalizing Healthcare Industry

Democrats have learned their lesson from the HillaryCare debacle: don't give the voters time to figure out what you're doing to them.

President-elect Barack Obama and his aides are determined not to repeat the mistakes the Clinton administration made 15 years ago in trying to revamp the nation's health care system. That means applying some of the lessons learned — moving fast, seizing momentum and not letting it go.
[…Obama's point man on nationalizing the healthcare industry, Tom] Daschle maintains the efforts to bring about universal health coverage in the first two years of the Clinton presidency took too long. In a book published this year, he urged the next president to act immediately to capitalize on the good will that greets any incoming administration. His speech and recent behind-the-scenes meetings with lawmakers and consumer groups address that point.
"We need to be on the offense," Daschle said.
…Daschle did not provide any details about how the incoming administration would pay for expanding coverage.

Hurry up and say good-bye to the best healthcare in the world, because it will be gone before you know it, to be replaced by the sort of service you get at the DMV. The cost of socialized medicine to our economy will be staggering.

The Daschle plan: strike fast.

Oh, well -- it was nice while it lasted. Soon, you won't be able to get in to see A doctor (not YOUR doctor, you won't have your own doc anymore) for months, every damn pill or shot you're prescribed will take you weeks (and multiple forms to be filled-out) to obtain, repeated visits to brain-dead bureauweenies, to whom you will have to genuflect and beg, down on your knees, to get them to do something (like their damn job), and heaven help you if you've got some kind of emergency situation (that's right, you're dead, which is of course exactly what they want: you and thousands more like you out of the way -- "Go away, kid, you bother me!," to paraphrase the great W.C. Fields).

Got a toothache? "Suffer, you piece of crap! Die if you want to; no skin off my nose," says your kindly Federal Health Bureau administrator. "We'll get you to a dentist, in a couple of weeks. Maybe, with a bit of scheduling luck, he can pull that tooth in another month or so after that." Ah, glorious National Healthcare!

Like I said: It was nice while it lasted. Thanks, you drones out there who actually provided this figurehead for Clinton III enough votes to get his worthless ass elected -- now we've all got to pay for your stupidity . . .

Buy stock in the casket industry. It will be the only growth industry left after the first year of Obamhealth and Obamoconics.

Please, the World Health Organization readily acknowledges that the U.S. health care system is far from the best in the world. France (that bastion of, God forbid, social democracy), is generally recognized as the best. Then every other developed nation comes in next, ahead of the U.S. The American system can only claim to be anywhere close to the "best" for the extremely rich. Everyone else is left out in the cold. Not just those Americans who do not have health insurance at all. Even for Americans who have health insurance, the care they get from that coverage is vastly inferior to that in so called socialized systems, like in France, Canada, Germany, Spain, England, etc. Stop defending a system that is all about hoarding resources for the wealthy, at the expense of the middle class. Stop being a dupe of the wealth insurance industry that doesn't care about people and doesn't want to see anything change.

And the communists chime in.
Buddy, according to some regions (The NORTH), I am just above POVERTY level; yet I have great health care.

Even for Americans who have health insurance, the care they get from that coverage is vastly inferior to that in so called socialized systems, like in France, Canada, Germany, Spain, England,

Then, why are Canadians coming to America to get medical care that they have been denied in their utopia?

Why does it take three months to get a CAT scan in Canada? Why in Britain are seriously ill people forced to wait outside hospitals in ambulances because the law requires they be treated within two hours of arriving inside a hospital? Why are Britons and Canadians denied life-saving drugs at the whim of government bureaucrats? Why does Britain's NHS pay for sex changes and restoration of muslim hymens, but force people to wait months for life-saving surgery? Why has the medical profession been so decimated in Britain that they have to import doctors from Third World countries.

Also, why should I, a Mormon who neither smokes nor drinks, keeps my body weight within the normal range, and not engage in promiscuous sex ... have my taxes forcibly confiscated to pay for medical care for smokers, drinkers, drug users, the morbidly obese, and gay men who deliberately infect each other with AIDS?

Because you're rich, V! I mean, you may be middle class, but to the welfare leeches and communists you're rich. It's your responsibility to break your back working so you can feed, clothe, and provide healthcare for illegals and welfare recipients who can't be bothered to work. You racist!

In a CATO Institute report on the WHO's rankings: "To use the existing WHO rankings to justify more government involvement in health care is to engage in circular reasoning because the rankings are designed in a manner that favors greater government involvement."

I'm in my 50's and I've been a blue-collar worker my entire life and my health care here in the US has always been top-notch. Everyone I know has great health care. And I mean everyone I know. Throughout my life it's been that way. I suggest that you tt555, stop being a cheap no good shill for socialism.

I don't think it's just going to be nationalizing healthcare. There will be a blizzard of activity on all fronts. They'll keep coming at us with laws and regulations faster than they think we'll be able to keep up with it, trying to keep us off balance, hit us with the next thing before we can react to the last, hoping to plow their sick agenda through while we sit here dazed, wondering what happened.

Yep, I think you're absolutely correct Mr Evilwrench. The sad thing is there is very little principled opposition to these statists.

Say hello to Socialism.
(1). Government schools
(2). Central banking system
(3). National retirement fund
(4). National health insurance (1/9 US economy)
(5). Automobile manufacturing
(6). Energy and electricity production (Next)

Heeeee's Baaaaaaack! Good grief! Tom Dashle has been off his medication for years!! Talk about a way left wacko.

Posted by: John Charles at December 7, 2008 7:29 PM

The solution to this is simple. It must be mandated that government employees at EVERY level take part in this plan and that there are NO EXCEPTIONS for anyone.

Barack Obama and his family should be the first in line. Barry gets sick, he gets his butt in line with everyone else.

I guarantee this would go nowhere with a requirement like that. The socialists in the Democrat party wouldn't give up the cushy healthcare plans they have, though.

80% taxes.

Just give the liberals everything; don't plan on leaving anything for your kids, don't plan on retirement; don't EVER even THINK 'retirement' you selfish anti-Obamunist freak... think of the 'collective'.

You will be assimilated.

It has started. The "Office of the President Elect" is supreme. HALE OBAMA! HALE OBAMA! HALE OBAMA!

Bend over for him or die - you have been DEFEATED!

I will keep saying this over and over, there is a 3rd Civil war coming to the US...it will be in your backyards and it is going to be bloody b**ch...all because idiots believed socialist communists (now called progressive 'liberals' can be trusted...

tt555, you must be on that state-supplied heroin.

Socialized health care will always be regressive because it is protected from free-market competition. You can see this in our partly-socialized system of medicine in this country in the corruption, red tape and incompetence of Medicaid and Medicare and inflated prices caused by payers picking up the bills for nonpayers.

BO wants to give everyone the worst part of the U.S. medical system.
The minds of children pay no heed to the expense of their ideas.

BTW someone photoshop a toothbrush mustache on that picture of Herr Daschle.

I am rather hoping for a peaceful secession. Everything west of the Cascades and Sierras can become Nueva Pacifica. New England and the Rust Belt states can become The People's Republic of Obamastan. Leaving Real America in the middle.

I love these photos of these gasbag politicians pontificating. There's a really funny one of Upchuck Schumer going around. He's got his lecturing finger in the air and an extremely self-important look on his face. You could just cheerfully shoot him.
How do people like that get elected? How did Harry Reid get elected?
