Al Gore presents a real problem to bloggers and pundits with a sarcastic bent. No matter how absurd an analogy, no matter how silly or stupid you try to make him look and sound, no matter how you might try to exagerate his views and statements, it is immediately obvious that he is much worse than that. The man is a walking talking cartoon in his own right.

I imagine Obama will achieve this same greatness so that we will eventually never mess with his name. Obama will be a noun that carries all the venom and negative emotion of any word in the language. Like the sound of nearby gunfire in the dark, the sound of his name will evoke enough emotion without augmentation.

Dont you just love unions?

"ERIE, Pa. -- A union is fighting the firing of a municipal bus driver who struck and killed a surgeon three years ago and then hit another pedestrian in September. That was the third time the driver hit a person since 2000.

The union's grievance against the Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority says last month's firing of 49-year-old David Justka was unfair. That stemmed from Mr. Justka's most recent accident Sept. 30 in which he injured a 16-year-old girl.

Mr. Justka was previously fired for hitting the bicycling surgeon in August 2005, though the union helped him get his job back. The widow's lawsuit against the transit authority settled for $500,000 last month.

Among the grievance issues is whether Mr. Justka's past driving record is relevant to his current firing."

V to the K,
You state that any European who receives health care or college is a leech. Therefore, every European is by default a leech.

You state that our standard of living is definiceient because Europeans are much more urbanized than Americans. We live in cities. Cities have less room. Therefore we live in smaller dwellings and own less possessions. We COULD move to the country and have more stuff, we just CHOOSE not to.

My country (England) so loves yours that our own Prince risked his life to fight alongside the Americans. When the pound went up in value, the first thing we started to do was pour into America in un-before-seen numbers, to see your delightful country and load it up with our tourism dollars.

And in response, you call us ALL leeches, and say we live in a "socialist hellhole"

Have you no sense of decency, sir?

Yeesh, so the Repubs lost. Big deal. Not the end of the world. If Obama sucks he's out in 4 years. It's a democracy. Sometimes the guy you don't like wins and puts in policies you also don't like. That's what you get for living in a democracy, you have to go along with what the majority wants, like it or not.

Posted by: Trident at November 13, 2008 11:49 AM

The majority didn't vote O in and I don't want my our country to become a socialist state. Yes we live in a Demacracy for now. Its not about Obama personaly it's about the policies that he and the libral law makers are going to try to impose on us.

Socialism will not bring in enough money to
meet the wish list of liberalism in America.
Our foreign creditors will cut us off and printing
money will only devalue the currency.
Socalism taxes income-this is inadequate.
Are we ready as a nation to take the next step
of taxing wealth? There would be some justice
in this yes? Think of all the rich people who
supported Obama and how the proverbial chickens
will return.

The United States is supposed to be a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC, not "a democracy". What makes you think Obama won't get re-elected? It was INCREDIBLE that he was elected in the first place because he had NO EXPERIENCE and NO PLANS.

In the good news department, My uncle, Robert "Gene" Fallon, has published a novel: Death At The Cripple Creek Mine
It contains several pictures of old Middlesbourgh Kentucky and uses many real events in the story-line.

Please see the article, “Rampaging Gays,” posted here on November 12th. The Lansing, MI rampage by self-styled homosexual anarchists appears to have been more atrocious than previously reported and included chants of “Jesus was a homo,” according to this Breitbart video:

It seems that article vastly understated the nationwide gay uproar provoked by passage of Proposition 8 in California. That proposition, effectively banning gay marriages, passed as did similar measures in Florida and Arizona. Those states and virtually every other state in the union have now been targeted by homosexuals bent on intimidation, coercion, and violence.

Since little effort is being made by the liberal media to publicize those attacks, is doing its best to get the word out about what is happening, and what is happening isn’t pretty.

Displaying an equal opportunity approach to intimidation, gay groups are staging their protests at city halls, at Mormon temples, at Catholic churches, and at churches of Protestant denominations. As reports, those protests are unprecedented and far exceed the norms of civil demonstrations.

For example, chanting “No To H8,” and endorsing love over hate, some 320 protesters disrupted services on Sunday at the Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles. See the account of the event, which was sponsored by a group representing the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgendered (LGBT) coalition, in the homosexual newspaper, The Advocate:

That turned out to be one of the more peaceful demonstrations nationwide.

At Palm Springs City Hall, an elderly woman, who appeared to be in her seventies, was viciously assaulted by a horde of screaming gays who then stomped on the cross she was carrying. The following video vividly captures the attack by the hate-filled homosexuals at the same time it captures the woman’s pitying and loving reaction: ...

President O wants to cut carbon emissions... So that he can drive around in a smoke-belching tank

While riding along the campaign trails in his happy hybrids, Candidate Barack Obama had alot to say about the worlds need for a universal CO2 tax, stating that such taxes (which will raise consumer prices, and allow the rich to purchase indulgences to continue on their jet-setting ways and further the developmental poverty divide) "are essential to reverse runaway climate change and avert resulting severe weather events, inundation of coastal areas, spread of diseases, failure of agriculture and water supply, infrastructure destruction, forced migrations, political upheavals and international conflict."

But now it looks like the next President will be rolling in a much dirtier limousine, and a much less green version than either our current president or any of his predecessors. the New York Times reported last week, rumored Obama-mobile is a brand new souped-up, up-armored limo that looks like a Cadillac DTS but is actually based on GM's line of heavy-duty 2500 trucks, which received the lowest rating possible on the EPA's federal scale of "green", getting single digit gas mileage, and emitting a staggeringly high 16 tons of Carbon Monoxide per year.

Of course, those figures don't take into account the significant (and unknown) additions in weight from all the security and safety measures that have also been tacked on to what is most likely at least 6 Presidential Caddies and Decoy Caddies for codename "Renegade". These (and we are speculating here, based on presidential presidence, as details of defenses are not revealed) include 5 or more inches of bulletproof glass over each of the windows, ceramic/metal armor plates in all body panels, steel overlaps on the doors, reinforced chassis, aircraft tie downs, a large battery bank, radio and communication system, cell-phone-jamming equipment, a very impressive Public Announcement system, a bank of fluorescent lighting, and a steel run-flat system.

At least, you know, the taxpayers will pay for his carbon offsets, so they can afford less of their own for silly things like getting food to market, or getting to work.

Ayers: Obama was FAMILY FRIEND

In a new afterword to his memoir, 1960s radical William Ayers describes himself as a "family friend" of President-elect Barack Obama and writes that the campaign controversy over their relationship was an effort by Obama's political enemies to "deepen a dishonest narrative" about the candidate.

Posted by: V the K at November 13, 2008 9:10 AM

Hm let's try this. I am confronted with a situation at the office where a colleague makes me uncomfortable by constantly playing his IPod too loudly.

WWOD? (What would Obama do?)

1. Blame institutional racism and the lack of infrastructure provided for inner city blacks
2. Meet with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hamas to discuss their efforts to further world peace
3. Tell people anyone disagreeing with me is only doing so because I am black and how I am a perpetual victim despite now being the leader-elect of the free world
4. Vote present
5. Lie about all of above, and more, and have left-stream media cover my ass so that I continue to look like a brilliant orator and leader despite my complete inability to formulate a coherent sentence or policy

Wow you know that really did help!

My country (England) so loves yours that our own Prince risked his life to fight alongside the Americans.

You may recall your own country having its subways bombed to smithereens. Along with Spanish trains, and holidaymakers from my country getting blown up and burned to death in Bali, twice. We're all in this together. The US didn't start it, the other side did. And no-one would dream of diminishing Harry's service to your nation and to our nations.

When the pound went up in value, the first thing we started to do was pour into America in un-before-seen numbers, to see your delightful country and load it up with our tourism dollars.

And in response, you call us ALL leeches, and say we live in a "socialist hellhole"

I doubt VtheK would have meant this the way you've taken it. On the other hand there are many, many clear signs that Britain is in fact becoming a socialist hell hole - the NHS has been gutted for instance as has social security. Most conservatives overseas do not hold anything against Britain per se as much as we are worried about the state of decline it looks to be in, and whether that is reversible or not. We do, of course, despise your leftist academics and demoagogues as much as we despise our own, and the reflexive characterization of any opposition to full-scale immigration and colonization - by people who are in fact largely hostile to your way of life - as racism, is quite sickening.

That being said most people don't consider Britain as truly a part of Europe. You're still much, much better than that, and there's no need to take insults against Europe as applying to Britain. Our opposition to Europe and characterization of its nations as socialist hellholes is much more applicable to places like France, for instance, which has done nothing of note in how many centuries save turning over its territory to Nazis and helping them eradicate its Jews forcing us (including of course Britain) to take it back for them, while on the other hand condemning the US and worldwide conservatism, demonizing Israel and the Jews themselves, and generally opposing efforts to work toward civilization and democracy throughout the world; all the while being invaded by millions of hostile immigrants whose aim is to colonize, not inhabit peacefully, while the remnants of its civilization slowly die out. Similar for many European nations, although at least the Netherlands assist militarily and are relatively far less receptive to socialism and leftist/statist/collectivism, and have far less criticism for the rest of the world than do places like France.

In short I am sure that V the K would not have meant his words to be taken the way that they did, and there is far more respect, albeit tempered with concern, for Britain among conservatives elsewhere than there is criticism. On the other hand Britain does face very serious challenges and perhaps reacting emotively to criticism rather than considering the undeniable problems you do face could be thought to be a better strategy - if you don't mind my suggesting it.

Late breaking news: Barack Hussein Obama won the presidency of the United States on November 4th, 2008.

Okay, that’s a tad late for late breaking news but I’ve been in political recovery in a conservative rehab facility since that sorry day and night.

Okay, again, that’s not exactly true either but I haven’t focused on what has to be the single most significant factor in his election since then.

No, it wasn’t Oprah, nor Michael Moore, nor Hollywood stars and starlets, nor the LGBT coalition, nor any other mind-numbed robots of the Left. They were all considered for the numero uno spot but disqualified mainly because they all had been factored in already.

And, no, it’s not ACORN, that grass roots organization that probably registered more illegal alien voters, more phony Dallas Cowboys linemen voters, and more people who never entered a polling place before being enticed by a pack of Marlboros and a quart of Ripple on November 4th, than Mayor Daley I of Chicago ever dreamed of.

There were a large number of contenders for winner of the Single Most Significant Factor In the Obama Victory but none even approaches the role of the Windy City, America’s Second City, the City of the Big Shoulders situated on the shore of Lake Michigan.

The reason for that dubious award can be boiled down to one simple fact of Obama’s political life: Without Chicago he would not have had a political life.

I previously explored this topic in “Obama and His Tainted, Adoptive Town, Chicago, Part One” (September 23, 2008) and in “Obama: Moving on Up in Chicago Politics, Part Two” (October 2nd, 2008), both of which articles can be found at

Without the fanfare...

Obama vs Pelosi showdown - Donkeys in Detroit

On the Detroit bailout, Obama has hinted that he wants to make sure the money goes to retooling for clean, fuel efficient cars. Just like the original $25 billion Department of Energy bill was supposed to do. Nancy Pelosi is most worried about the UAW and jobs and would probably pump fresh blood into an entire city of the dead to save a single union job. So it looks like Obama and Pelosi are going to clash — and soon. Some reports indicate that GM will be down to its minimum operating cash before the end of the year — and that would make Chapter 11 all but a foregone conclusion. Detroit needs cash, but for what? The Obama Plan or the Pelosi Plan?

Britbart: The USA is a direct descendant of the old Noble Britain that most Americans are familiar with. Our language, cultore, legal system, free market system, and so many other institutions are inherited from your fine country. I do not consider England to be European so much as anglo. However, we yanks see your country overtaken by creeping socialism and Islam. The continent went red long ago but hangs on with the vestige of native cultures. I truly hate to see England follow suit. I am afraid that we Americans stand alone in our battle to save our nation. Brits always had our backs but may not anymore.

Well the whole diascussion may be moot now. We have just experienced a coup in America and depending on the outcome, "the last best hope" may disappear.
