Bureauweenies Try to Suppress Diaper Revelation

It isn't just those idiotic curlicue light bulbs the government will soon be imposing on us that actually do more harm to the environment than good. From Britain:

A government report that found old-fashioned reusable nappies damage the environment more than disposables has been hushed up because ministers are embarrassed by its findings.
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has instructed civil servants not to publicise the conclusions of the £50,000 nappy research project and to adopt a "defensive" stance towards its conclusions.
The report found that using washable nappies, hailed by councils throughout Britain as a key way of saving the planet, have a higher carbon footprint than their disposable equivalents unless parents adopt an extreme approach to laundering them.

The planet really is doomed if not even obeying government calls to reuse diapers will save it.

Is there any aspect of environmentalism that isn't as phony as Al Gore's face on a $3 bill?

On a tip from V the K.

The formerly Great Britain is suppressing truth to cover up it's own mistaken advice? Never in a million years.........
I guess they're trying to keep the shit from hitting the fan, because....
They don't want the public to make a big stink about it, because.....
It turns out they were full of shit to begin with!

(I could go on for a while, but for the readers sake, I will cut my poor attempt at humor short.)

Since the idea of saving the planet was never in their minds in the first place, it hardly makes sense to adopt a better method for doing what you don't want to do. Their agenda has nothing to do with the environment.

(SIGH) Time to pull out a post I made long ago:
"OK Liberals, we tried it YOUR way and it didn't work. Can we go back to the OLD way that MADE SENCE now?"

"The report found that using washable nappies, hailed by councils throughout Britain as a key way of saving the planet"

Is it just me or does that sentence speak for itself
