Science Confirms Enviromoonbat Hypocrisy

If you need any evidence that environmentalism is a shallow fad indulged in by liberal elite phonies who are only interested in token gestures for themselves even while they demand draconian sacrifices for everyone else, the Left's own Guardian thoughtfully provides it. According to Stewart Barr of Exeter University:

Green living is largely something of a myth. There is this middle class environmentalism where being green is part of the desired image. But another part of the desired image is to fly off skiing twice a year. And the carbon savings they make by not driving their kids to school will be obliterated by the pollution from their flights.

Barr and his fellow researchers found that "the longest and the most frequent flights were taken by those who were most aware of environmental issues." Sanctimonious moonbats often go on trips to reward themselves for using pricey curlicue light bulbs or for tossing their champagne bottles in the recycling bin. Higher income was associated both with more trips and with more enviromoonbattery.

As Barr puts it:

The findings indicate that even those people who appear to be very committed to environmental action find it difficult to transfer these behaviors into more problematic contexts.

In other words, they're hypocrites. But in their defense, there is no need to actually sacrifice their own pleasures, since CO2 is not actually a threat to anyone. It's gestures that count — like voting for liberals who will cripple the economy on behalf of the polar bears.

Penn & Teller had a series called "Bullshit". It's available on DVD. While some of their stuff is pretty offensive (esp. on religion), their show on recycling (and by extension, environmentalism) is absolutely a must see. In half an hour they put the whole issue to bed.

Should be required viewing in every school in the world.

And now that blowhard Gore is calling for "civil disobedience" to stop the construction of new coal plants. I guess he's realized that outright lying isn't enough to get his carbon credits off the ground, so he has to advocate use of force.

Actually, isn't he inciting violence now? Can't he be held responsible for his statements? One can only hope...

Remember that revolting enviro couple from Britain the "rewarded themselves" with a holiday abroad because they "did the right thing" by having an abortion? I think it was featured here. Of all the stories I've read at Moonbattery, that one made my stomach the sickest.

FYI, The human gaffe machine, Plugs Biden is having a rally a few blocks from my office in a few minutes. You can listen to it on if you'd like to laugh along with me.

This is typical. They all want us to walk or ride bikes, pile on sweaters (made from organic cotton and wool, of course) and eschew plastic products in the name of the planet while they continue to enjoy the good life - feeling good about it because they spend money on useless carbon credits.

It's also folks like these who talk about how quaint it is to live in mud or dung huts and defecate behind a tree (a la that stupid MTV show with Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore), but you don't see them selling their big houses and moving to the jungle with the natives.

Traitorous ex-Marine gas bag John Murtha getting sued by a REAL Marine. Excellent.

"Exonerated Marine to sue Rep. Murtha
Thursday, September 25, 2008
By Dennis B. Roddy, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
One of the Marines cleared in the killings of Iraqi civilians in the town of Haditha plans to sue his congressman today for statements he says defamed him and other members of his squad.

Former Marine Lance Cpl. Justin Sharratt, 24, of Canonsburg, will file a civil lawsuit against U.S. Rep. John P. Murtha, D-Johnstown, who was widely quoted two years ago saying that eight Marines carried out a cold-blooded killing of 24 civilians in the Iraqi town on Nov. 19, 2005.

Charges were later dropped against all but one of the Marines, with a military prosecutor calling allegations against Mr. Sharratt "incredible.""

Why no video of Palin's witchdoctor pastor?

Posted by: Jeb at September 25, 2008 4:04 PM

First of all JEB, that was off-topic. Second, try to get PROOF an accusation before you start slinging cheep roumers.

Posted by: KHarn at September 25, 2008 4:20 PM

Jeb - the only black pastors you moonbats respect are the ones who hate whitey.

Posted by: Anonymous at September 25, 2008 4:20 PM

Always knew these Moonbats were over the edge (hell, if you use just a little common sense and have even a basic knowledge of the sciences, which they used to teach in school, but rarely do anymore, kinda like American History or Western Civ, then you understand that we undergo cycles of warming and cooling, that our poor, pitiful little selves can have virtually no effect on the planet or its climate as a whole, and that the proponents of AGW have, shall we say, ulterior motives [Follow the money!]).

Nice to see The Guardian, of all rags, confirm what we've all known pretty much all of our lives.

It doesn't take a (rocket) scientist to call a spade a spade, (or a dipshit a dipshit).

The one who came out with McIllaney Tobasco suace was a conservationists he helped save the SNOWY EGRETS and PRESIDENT TEDDY ROOSIVELT was a HUNTER and CONSERVATIONISTS he helped create PELICAN ISLAND the nations very first wildlife refuge and he was a REPUBLICAN

I love this stuff, keep up the fine work.

Posted by: Man in a Shed at September 26, 2008 2:09 AM

Kharn lol get proof? I assume video proof isn't enough. Republican's really do have half a brain.

Posted by: Jeb at September 26, 2008 2:54 AM

I now know why they hide Palin. Wow that interview made Bush look like Einstein. I am next to Russia lol.

Posted by: Jonah at September 26, 2008 3:00 AM

This is the Palin witch video.

The witch doctor "pastor" was a visiting pastor from Kenya and she was trying not to be rude by saying nothing to him about it. Now if he was the regular pastor and she sat there for 20 years maybe that would raise more eyebrows or non Moonbats. Even if she had, pastors praying for protection against witches is not on the same level as the anti-American paranoid rantings of Reverend Wright. Its just a little weird. Of course witchcraft is considered a real religion in much of Africa.

The lefties think this is equal to Rev. Wright but rational people think its meaningless.

Posted by: General Jack D. Ripper at September 26, 2008 4:59 AM

And, General, witchcraft is also considered a real religion on the left. They love Wiccans. So why they're getting into a lather about this video is truly baffling.

cowlove, as I mentioned in the thread about Gore, I believe he could only be charged with incitement to violence if he actually mentioned specific coal plants that he urged youths to destroy. For instance, saying something like "The Finley Coal Plant in Macon, GA must be destroyed by any means necessary! Go take care of it!" could be counted as an official incitement to violence, whereas saying something like, "We must use civil disobedience to stop production of coal plants across our countries!" could not be counted as an official incitement. I believe Gore was careful to remain vague when urging civil disobedience against coal plants and avoided mentioning any specific targets, so unfortunately no charges can be brought against him for it.

Yeah I read that Adam, makes sense. I'd still like to see him in jail. Imagine the convicts licking their lips to own that Nobel Prize winning cornhole.

"Jeb at September 26, 2008 2:54 AM"

As was pointed out, your own video disproves your accusation. My REQUEST for proof still stands.

"Jonah at September 26, 2008 3:00 AM"

I do hope that you're not just blowing smoke rings like so many lefties (I know of only ONE Liberal woman who has left the country). If you are sincere, I wish you a safe voyage and a good life in your new home.
