Attention Copyeditors: Job Openings at AFP and Yahoo News

The U.K. & Ireland Yahoo News presents the picture above, from AFP, under the title:

Eliot Spitzer (R) holds a news conference in New York City with his wife Silda by his side

After giving his affiliation as R for Republican once again in the caption, they do finally admit he's a Democrat, unlike some others.

Could the (R) possibly mean "the person standing on the right?"

Posted by: V the K at March 14, 2008 7:04 AM

They do it all the time with State and Federal House politicians R = Representative, but most people associate R with Republican.

But this was bizarre, he was a Governor, so its much more blatent.

V, I thought the same thing, but then again, it's not that hard to figure out which one of the two people in the photo is likely to be named "Eliot."

That'd definately put a lil spin on things if people who didn't know better thought he was a Republican.

I've always been told "Never attribute to malice what can reasonably be explained by stupidity." It gets tough when dealing with the left because they so often and effectively combine malice with stupidity.

her preface should be (M) for medicated. or (HM)cant blame her a bit though.....

I know we wingbats are supposed to be salivating venom over this, but do we have to be idiots about it?

This is a CAPTION fercrisake, it means Spitzer is standing on the RIGHT. Check this one, also from Yahoo News:

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/afp/20080312/img/ppl-us-politics-newyork-gov-2f65be46b3c70.html

"Eliot Spitzer (2nd R) exits his apartment with his wife Silda (L)"

So, by your "logic" Spitzer is being identified as a "second Republican" and his wife as, I don't know, "Libertarian"?

And they say I'M a dumb guy.

Whell, at least Soon to be former Democratic NY State Gov Spitzer (as of Monday?) can be proud that his whore is going to be one rich bitch.

Anyone notice that the Lt. Gov, by NY Constitution, must not physically leave the state of NY, and if does so, by NY Constitutional rule, the Republican speaker becomes the new Gov of the state?

Kind of a funny twist, no?

I still say he looks like the Predator.

"Kind of a funny twist, no?"

Not particularly, because, unlike Spitzer, the whoremonger, Paterson is extremely popular and well-regarded in Albany, and he and Joe Bruno happen to be good friends.

David Paterson is an example of a politician who breaks down barriers of ideology and race, unlike the sleazy manipulator, Barack Obama.

What does that have to do with how the NY State Constitution reads??? A Constitution written and ratified long before any of these people were born?

From everything I've seen, Patterson is a good man to be stepping in, but regardless, his qualifications doesn't have anything to do with the Constitutional condition forbidding a Lt. Gov from leaving the state. By the way Oiao, is he officially Governor today? If so, that part of their constitution would only apply during the time Spitzer resigned up until midnight last night wouldn't it? That is interesting that the constitution doesn't allow for the Lt. Gov to leave the state.

Why would the douchebag moron pussy warmonger oiao bring up an irrelevant, hypothetical situation anyway, you horrid, hocking heifer from hell?

What interest do you inbred hayseeds have in what goes on in New York anyway? Perhaps you want to install another one of your philistine psychotic wingnuts to thoroughly shmuck up our state with filthy lucre like your own?

Stick to your playguns and we'll stick to planning the torture domes you will be "housed" in one day!

"you horrid, hocking heifer from hell"... ROTFLMAO @ hashmark. That is the funniest insult I've ever had tossed at me!!! Maybe my interest comes from the fact my hubby is a New Yawker!!!!!
