Freudian Slip at MSNBC

His own advocates at MSNBC have joined the growing list of those who have confused Barack Hussein Obama with Osama bin Laden:

Other examples include Ted Kennedy, who coined the nickname Osama Obama:

Then there is ABC's witless Joy Behar, who refers to the head of al Qaeda as Obama bin Laden. Oh, and CNN:

wheres_obama.jpg

You'll notice these are all left-wing personages and propaganda outlets, whose enthusiastic support Obama can bank on. Their mistake is clearly not malevolent, but what's called a Freudian slip.

As Obama has no actual qualifications, you have to assume that his name is a major selling point. Moonbat actress Susan Sarandon even admitted as much:

I think that he, as a symbol, has really excited people, and he's definitely confusing to everyone who really hates America for hating Muslims because a name like Obama and a black man, they're probably going to go "Oh, wait a minute — What?"

Beyond being Muslim, the name recalls Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden, America's two most prominent enemies of the past decade. Given liberals' pronounced tendency to sympathize with America's enemies, a psychiatrist would probably say that a vote for Obama is a proxy vote for al Qaeda and the Baath party — and there's no doubt Obama Nation would benefit from psychiatric attention. Imagine supporting an unqualified candidate named Tojo Hidler during WWII.

That love-struck camel must be a Democrat.

Comments

The CNN Obamaite, who is obviously anti-Hillary, thought it was fitting to replace 'Hillary Clinton' with 'Al Qaeda'. Proof at comment no. 45.

Maybe the same crack technology Fux News used yesterday to redact Ms. Obama's comments could be applied to them?

To save the nation further embarrassment, that is.

All of you are racist scum. How dare you mock Obama?

For you stoopid folks here that was a joke. This man is not good for America. And for you stoopider Jimbo types, McCain is a decent guy like Bill Clinton was a decent guy. Get over the politics and accept what is good for USA. And vote you morans.

Posted by: Mr. Parker at February 21, 2008 9:20 PM

If McCain is a decent guy like Clinton is a decent guy he has to be a total scumbag. As much as I disagree with his politics, I don't believe that about him.
The problem we have this election cycle is that there is no one running for president who isn't bad for America.

Accurate assessment Steve. Now what? [banging head on keyboard!]

Why do you hate America, stevie?

Well put, Van.

He will demand to swear in as President on the Koran.

Unrelated trivia:

Neither Obama or McCain were born on the US mainland (48 contiguous). Does anyone know if this will be a "first" in the race for the presidency?

Posted by: fellowes at February 21, 2008 10:47 PM

Umm saddam hussein was not an enemy of America.

He never threatned or attacked America.

He was, for many years, a valued ally. America supported this guy and helped contribute to his power and authority for a long time.

Osama Bin laden, is a apparently not an enemy of America either, as he and ahis followere were also funded by America. Perhaps he attacked America, but no one in the current administration is all that interested in finding and punishing him for it.

Don't go rewritng history.

Jimbo, your OWN PRESIDENT admitted Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with the 9/11 occurrences.

Posted by: ttevolla at February 22, 2008 2:26 AM

Please, i want to know what kind of threat did Saddam Hussein represent towards America. The US created the guy. Any power he had accumulated was with our assistance. He was our ally when it was convienient to be so. The Reagan admin funded the guy, and made special trips over to Iraq to shake his hand and do business.

How did he threaten the US?

Reagan also funded radical fundamentalists in Iran and Afhganistan, Bin laden's crowd, who we called "freedom fighter" back then in lieu of "terrorists", at the same time.

I don't remember your outrage back in the 80's. You were so busy wetting your panties over Reagn's Bryl cream and flag waving that you didn't even pay attention to what he was doing.

It's funny how yesterday's "freedom fighters" became today's "terrorists".

Posted by: hashfanaticFAN at February 22, 2008 2:37 AM

Oh, Saddam Hussein was a real sweetheart alright.

According to official Iranian sources, which we consider credible, approximately 5,000 Iranians were killed by chemical weapons between 1983 and 1988. The use of chemical weapons has been a war crime since the 1925 Chemical Weapons treaty, to which Iraq is a party.

Also during the Iran-Iraq War, there are credible reports that Iraqi forces killed several thousand Iranian prisoners of war, which is also a war crime as well as a grave breach of the Geneva Conventions of 1949, to which Iraq is a party.

In mid-March of 1988, Saddam Hussein and his cousin Ali Hassan alMajid -- the infamous "Chemical Ali" -- ordered the dropping of chemical weapons on the town of Halabja in northeastern Iraq. This killed an estimated 5,000 civilians, and is a war crime and a crime against humanity.

Beginning in 1987 and accelerating in early
1988, Saddam Hussein ordered the "Anfal" campaign against the Iraqi Kurdish people. By any measure, this constituted a crime against humanity and a war crime.

The invasion and occupation of Kuwait. During the
occupation, Saddam Hussein's forces killed more than a thousand Kuwaiti nationals, as well as many others from other nations.

The list goes on and on of documented "crimes against humanity" here -> http://www.fas.org/news/iraq/2000/09/iraq-000918.htm

What a kewl neighbor, eh? Nice guy. He took assistance in the beginning and appears to have spent 20 years or so "turning on the world".

Why do liberals hate Americans and love America haters? To the deranged, your enemies are your friends and your friends are your enemies.

Posted by: Kristy at February 22, 2008 5:37 AM

Tojo Hidler? LOL! While I dont think Obama is Osama Bin Laden, he's definitely a left wing nut even farther to the left than Hiltary Clinton - oops! I guess that was Freudian slip. LOL!

As for Saddam Hussein not wanting to attack America - Vladimir Putin didnt seem to think that was true - his agents actually confirmed he was looking for ways to strike at America for keeping the sanctions on Iraq in effect.

The BEEB said it, so it must be true!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3819057.stm

"Putin says Iraq planned US attack

Putin was a vocal opponent of the US-led war in Iraq Russian President Vladimir Putin says that after the 9/11 attacks Moscow warned Washington that Saddam Hussein was planning attacks on the US.
He said Russia's secret service had information on more than one occasion that Iraq was preparing acts of terror in the US and its facilities worldwide."

________________
Putin went on to say the didnt now of any actual attacks in the past. Of course that Hussein was PLANNING attacks means nothing to liberal jerkweeds.

Why do liberals hate Americans and love America haters? To the deranged, your enemies are your friends and your friends are your enemies.

Because liberals never grew out of that stage of childhood where "rebelling" against your parents was cool.

I mean, do you ever see any of the lefty trolls here put together coherent arguments in support of their viewpoints? No, it's all schoolyard name-calling and ginned up conspiracy theories. They are stuck in a juvenile stage of development, where they want the government to be mommy and daddy, and they throw tantrums because the parental figure won't indulge their every want.

In contrast, there's another blog I frequent where there is passionate pro-McCain/anti-McCain debate, but with the exception of a few, most of it is conducted in the realm of ideas and most of the participants express respect for the other side's point of view.

I think it's because on the left, you don't have to be clever... you just have to be louder and nastier than everybody else, and as long as you toe the party line, you get rewarded for it.

The fact that the US helped establish the mujahedeen in Afghanistan to fight the Soviets was, looking back, a miscalculation. Much like not retaliating for the bombing of the Beirut Marine barracks was. Helping Saddam during the Iran/Iraq war - well, the jury is still out, we probably shouldn't have gotten involved at all.

That does not mean that mean we shouldn't try to correct the mistakes of the past and prevent those of the future. And it certainly doesn't make Osama bin Laden our ally.

Posted by: mandy at February 22, 2008 8:07 AM

Excuses for incompetence.

Either way, America blew it, and you have the blood of all those troops and innocent civilians on YOUR hands.

You were willing to shed American blood for your fever dreams.

Posted by: hashfanatic at February 22, 2008 8:25 AM

Yeah, like when Clinton let bin Laden get away (they could have had him once, you know?) after he blew up the USS Cole and embassies in Africa. You can say Clinton has the blood of the 9/11 victims for letting our "ally" slink off into the mountains.

Posted by: mandy at February 22, 2008 8:31 AM

Interesting that Saddam managed all of his worst atrocities under the watchful eye of the great ronald Reagan, and with his finacial and military support, to boot.

Funny that at the same time we were buttering Saddam's bread we were aslo covertly and illegally funding his enemy, and ours, supposedly, in Iran.

Don't give me that line about righting wrongs..Saddam became uncooperative and the oil opportunity Iraq represents is just too tempting.

There is NO war no war on terrorism.

And seriously, how many more posts will you milk out of using Obama's name to draw a link to him and Saddam hussein and Osama Bin Laden? I mean it's just so weak.

Posted by: hashfanaticFAN at February 22, 2008 8:43 AM

In the real world, Saddam got his military support from France, Germany, and Russia, who provided him with military support in return for oil contracts.

Once again, leftists can't argue unless they can make sh1t up. Reminds me of this kid I knew in the sixth grade.

Posted by: V the K at February 22, 2008 8:52 AM

so you are saying that the Reagan admin did NOT do business with Saddam?

Who makes shit up?

Posted by: Anonymous at February 22, 2008 12:48 PM

These idiots keep saying "what threat did Sadaamm pose against the US?" and we keep TELLING them! But they refuse to believe the truth that they can look up themselves. The Mideast went to hell because we did not kick Iran's ass for capturing our embassy in '79. That was CARTER's fault. He was a LIBERAL.

Posted by: KHarn at February 22, 2008 2:22 PM

Most of Saddam's "misbehavior" dates AFTER Reagan left the White House. V the K, you are being too high in your grade estimate there, he reminds me of the kids in kindergarten.
