Sweden to Spend $590,000 Saving the World From Belching Cows

Whereas once high priests might have argued about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, now they have more scientific concerns — like how much global warming is caused when a cow burps:

A Swedish university has received $590,000 in research funds to measure the greenhouse gases released when cows belch. […] The research will be funded by a grant from the government's Swedish Research Council for Environment, Agricultural Sciences and Spatial Planning.

Apparently scientists want to figure out what to feed the cows so they will belch less of those greenhouse gases. Too bad someone from the history department doesn't stop by to remind them that cows have been belching for awhile now, with no discernible effect on global climate.

Relax, Swedish taxpayers. It's only money.

On a tip from Wiggins.

I would suggest sticking vacuums up the cow's emissions end to harvest the methane for fuel, just like how milking machines harvest the cow's milk, but I'm scared of PETA.

Global Warming is the kind of thing people worry about when there's nothing to worry about. The European markets are down 5-8 % today, and Asia worse. The asset bubble of 2001-2007 is over. We will hear little of global warming in the coming months.

Moonbat Oliver Stone to make biopic about George W. Bush:

Research grants - thats one of the top motivating factors behind all the Global Warming hysteria. If the research indicated the Sun and natural cycles are the cause then there would be no need to fund such research. Therefore a crisis (in the distant future) must be manufactured. And by the time its verified as false, the money is safely stashed away in the pockets of "scientists" and socialist blowhards like Al Bore.

"A Swedish university has received $590,000 in research funds to measure the greenhouse gases released when cows belch. […]"

I would think then that we need to be concerned with all species of mammals that belch. Perhaps we need to cull more wildlife to save our planet.

I'm doing my part to combat "global warming"; I'm EATING STEAKS as fast as I can!

As to "study grants", there was (supposedly) a study that used up hundreds of thousands of US taxpayers dollars to study "why people fall in love".
Their findings: they couldn't figure it out.

The AGW hoaxers always whine about how certain prominent skeptics are "in the pocket of Big Oil" or somesuch nonsense because they received a measly grant from them sometime in the past. But what of the tens of billiions (with a B) of dollars that fund global warming research each year? No corrupting influence or conflict of interest there!
