Archbishop of Canterbury Bashes America, Sucks Up to Muslims

As liberal ideology rots away the foundations of Western Civilization, making eventual Islamic conquest seem inevitable, some have placed their hope for the future in Christian clergy, who have an obvious stake in preserving our culture. But horrifyingly, even churches have been corrupted by moonbattery.

Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, is the senior prelate of the Church of England. FrontPage reports on an appalling interview he gave with the British Islamic lifestyle magazine Emel.

Rather than criticizing Muslims for killing Christians and driving them out of Iraq, he blames America. Rather than taking Muslims to task for their decades-long terror war against Israel, he denounces the fence Israelis use to keep bloodthirsty Muslim fanatics from killing their children. He also displays his dhimmitude by excoriating Christian Zionists. But most of his venom is reserved for America, the only counterbalance to expansionist Islam as Europe dissolves into politically correct degradation.

Williams' denunciations of the USA display astonishing ignorance, unapologetic hypocrisy and a cretinous willingness to seize on even the hollowest rhetoric if it serves his obsequious purpose.

America has lost the "moral high ground," Williams chides. To recover it, he prescribes:

A generous and intelligent programme of aid directed to the societies that have been ravaged; a check on the economic exploitation of defeated territories; a demilitarization of their presence.

As if we aren't already pouring in massive amounts of money to rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan, countries that have been in ruins for decades due to the inept and autocratic governments of thugs like Saddam Hussein and Mullah Omar. If anyone's being exploited economically, it's American taxpayers. "Demilitarization" in this context merely means turning the countries over to terrorists.

But according to Williams, America is to blame for having "undermined most of the foundations" on which "responsible civil society" can be built. You know, foundations like the Baath Party and the Taliban.

He calls American influence, the only light holding back the darkness of totalitarianism, the "worst of all worlds." Contrasting it unfavorably with British colonialism, he incredibly accuses us of trying to "move on" from Iraq after a "quick burst of violent action" — even while condemning us for trying to stabilize the situation before withdrawing. Obviously America cannot win where moonbats like Williams are concerned.

Needless to say, the folks at Emel love him. Good little dhimmi, we'll behead you last.

When the muzzies take over, first they will behead the inbred British Royal family, followed by clowns like this Archbishop of BS. He will be on his knees pleading "Hey!! I bashed America!! Cut me a brea-------[ ker chunk]" as his head rolls across the floor. When muzzies and communists take over, they always kill the colaborators first. After all, can you trust someone who would sell out his own people along with the rest of the free world?

This is a no-brainer; America won't behead him for trashing us. He's near retirement. "If only I can live out the next 15 years in peace, then the whole world can go to Dhimmi hell, for all I care." Way to serve the Lord, reverend.

That's a good point that comes back to the demographic problem. People without kids, like so many in Europe, don't care about the future. So while their population numbers collapse, the will for cultural survival collapses along with them.

But at least they can cut their CO2 "emmissions" while they extinct themselves.

I don't mean to say that all people without kids are moonbats, but having kids, getting a job with a private company etc can cause young people with moonbat tendencies to grow out of it in a hurry.

It's like natural heavy counter-moonbattery artillery fire, and the lack of it might explain why there are so many moonbats in their 30's, 40's and even older in Europe. If someone doesn't have kids and works for Auntie Beeb or some other gov body, they can go on thinking like a spoiled college freshman indefinitely.

Ian can comment on this more trenchantly, but my impression is the C of E is pretty much on the ropes, and the last few Archbishops of Canterbury have adopted extremist viewpoints in an apparent attempt (unsuccessful, alas) to appear relevant and galvanize the flock.

The Church of England is a spent force, obsessed with its internal politics. It'll be lucky to survive the current halfwitted Archbishop.

To my friends on the other side of the Atlantic I say - take heart in the fact that Rowan Williams is viewed as a total idiot by 99% of the British population - the very epitome of the weak, wooly, anglican cleric, full of intellectual posturing and devoid of even a hint of common sense or self awareness. His term as Archbishop of Canterbury has been an utter failure, and if he is remembered at all it will be as the man who put the final nail in the CofEs coffin.

Your Enormity: Get ready to hear the following, as soon as your new bestest friends the Moose Limbs take over the power of government in G.B. (and it won't be very long):

Swish! Chock! Bump! Roll!

Last things you'll ever hear . . .

Nice beard, Perfesser!

Or, as Joe Sobran put it,
"It’s ennobling to belong to a church centuries behind the times, as they say, and indifferent to the fashions of the day; but it’s supremely undignified to belong to a church five minutes behind the times while always huffing and puffing to catch up."

Ever notice how most communists/muzzies sport beards? To be a seriously hard core liberal communist a beard is a must. Chavez needs to begin growing one if he wants to emulate Castro - maybe thats why his constitution changes failed to pass - NO BEARD!!!

If I ever hear the Prophet of the LDS Church spout any such idiocy, I'm outta here.

Beards went out with the Victorian Age. Since then (with a few noteable exceptions), only radicals, poor artists and wanna-be rebels wear beards.

I'm none of those things, and I would grow one if it would fill in and not look mangy. I just don't like the way shaving makes my face feel. Being in the Army was hell on me...twice-a-day shaves made me feel like my skin was going to melt off.

But yeah, in general, that is true. I have a professor who seems pretty liberal, and he has a beard like the jackass above.

Re: Beards. I am pleased to be the exception that proves the rule.

I just remembered a George Carlin joke:

"Stalin had a BEARD! Marx had a BEARD! Gabby Hayes had WISKERS."
