Global Warming Moonbats Sacrifice Orangutans to Gaia

As noted on NRO, rising food prices aren't the only high cost of the biofuel mania inspired by the global warming hoax. Environmental moonbattery hurts not only humans, but animals too:

The Orang-utans of Borneo are facing an unprecedented threat as their habitat is destroyed to satisfy increasing global demands for bio-fuel.
As jungles are rapidly replaced by palm oil plantations, the great apes starve and are hunted, mutilated, burnt and snared by workers protecting their crops. At a rehabilitation centre run by the charity Borneo Orang-utan Survival, there are more than 600, mostly orphaned babies. Lone Nielsen, the centre's director, estimates that for each of the 227 animals they rescued last year, five more were killed in central Borneo alone. […]
With the world desperate for "green" fuels, demand for palm oil, which is used in bio-diesel, is guaranteed to increase. According to European legislation two per cent of all diesel must be vegetable oil, rising to 5.7 per cent in 2010 and 10 per cent by 2020.

Orangutans are considered the most intelligent primate after humans. Considering how many humans have bought into the global warming hoax, they may have passed us.

didn't know that george clooney was such a hansome dude.

The cruel insult to George C. Looney aside (for shame billfry), they're going through corn in Kansas like crap through a goose distilling up ethanol. No matter that it takes a couple gallons less than a full barrel of oil to make a barrel of ethanol by the time it's all said and done (with about 70% of the "octane" of gasoline). One brilliant Kansas politician said if it don't work out, the state will be stuck with "a bunch of vodka factories." Try moonshine, you idgit. Kern licker.

Ethanol goes down great with a splash of kool aid.

The ethanol craze is a great example of pure, distilled moonbattery. Irrational, expensive, wasteful, and counter productive to the usual liberal agenda items like the poor and "the environment".

Like monsoon said, it's inefficient for one thing. A bunch of energy is used to make it. And it creates the dreaded CO2 when it's burned - like ordinary gasoline.

Another thing is that drilling a hole in the ground to pump out oil causes less disturbance than the vast farm fields or tree farms needed for ethanol production. Enviro-nuts like the sound of "biofuel", so they are reflexively in favor even if it is less "earth friendly" than old fashioned oil pumping. Most elite moonbats have never worked on a farm anyway, so I wouldn't expect them to know much about it, but I can assure them it's not as quaint and "green" as they would like to think.

The impact on food prices is also becoming apparent. Grain, meat, dairy are all going up because grains are being used for ethanol. Bad news - especially for working class and poor people. But what do prius-driving liberals care about them? "Bio-fuel" just sounds sooo cool. The poor can just suck it up - like the orangutans.

What a bunch of hypocrites.

Usually, a successful new fuel is made from something that has greater energy density and is cheaper than what it replaces.Gasoline produces 34.6 Megajoules per liter, whereas gasahol produces 28.06 Megajoules per liter. Interestingly biodiesel produces 42.20 Megajoules per liter, and would seem a great way to get rid of the trans-fatty acids.

Portland, OR, another light-rail "success story" i.e. billions spent on a system no one wants or uses, in the city that gave Airhead America its highest ratings.

This is a typical result of moonbat "policymaking," where action is initiated purely on the basis of a preordained ideology. The complicated interplay of real-life consequences needn't bother anyone. They seize upon an idea, and then go to implementation. The key thing is to feel good that you're pushing the agenda forward.

Save the Orang-utans! You can wipe out all the Moonbats you want, however.

Start drilling for oil in ANWR, off every one of our coasts, and anywhere else prospects look good for hitting a "gusher." NOW! This whole ethanol joke ends up utilizing more energy that it produces (though I know it makes the Greenies "feel good" about themselves; 'fraid that's no longer good enough, enviro-wackos), takes food out the mouths of babies, and kills (and possibly exterminates) species that would otherwise be doing just fine, thank you very much.

Time to recognize as a truism, as VH said: It appears that even the youngest, most uneducated Orang-utan has more intelligence than even the smartest, most highly educated Moonbat. Must make the human feel real good about his existence!

In other news, Hezbollah has made a video game in which you get to kill Israeli soldiers for points.

Keep your hands off ANWAR! The rest of the world can go to the devil.

The same people that want to preserve a little plot of land in the wastes of the north is destroying everything else. Thanks moonbats. Knuckleheads.

Your article on global warming is quite impressed. But you gave me more information about effect of green house projects. I had found a site which give regulary updates on global warming. This blog give have some great points like "The real heat will start after 2009, they said."

I love Bhuvan Juval spam attacks. The CO2 death cult will spam the world to death so that Gaia can breathe again!

It's far more energy-efficient to make ethanol from sugar cane, but don't look for any ethanol imports from our Caribbean neighbors - the Corn State Senators won't 'ear of it!
