English Flag Banned in England

Lancashire garbage collector Matthew Carter, who was born in Barbados and is black, has been forbidden from wearing a St George's Cross bandana to hold back his dreadlocks because the symbol "could be considered offensive and racist."

St George's Cross is the flag of England.

How profoundly sick does a society have to be to ban its own flag? Moonbattery is truly the most hideous disease ever to afflict the human race — the moral and intellectual equivalent of leprosy.

Now Carter wears a bandana imprinted with a skull and crossbones. Presumably this meets with the approval of politically correct bureauweenies.

Banned for being "offensive and racist."

On a tip from The Panday.

I can see a certain logic in what they did... or at least I'd be able to see it if they then prevented him from wearing his new attire.

What gets me is that they've declared it racist. The man was black. How fucking stupid can you get? Eejits...

Anyway, apart from incidents like this there's a lot less friction for flying the flag these days. You see the George Cross and the union jack all over the place now, which is quite heartening. Even places that traditionally only flew it on certain days of the year are flying a flag all year around, though I doubt the kensington set would ever notice. London is safely insulated from all that nasty racist expression of pride in the national symbols...

The schism between our masters in London and Brussels is growing deeper by the day. At some point people will realise that what happens there has no bearing on what happens everywhere else and simply start to ignore it.

Yeah, the laws originate from the big cities. However, out in 'the provinces' they are picked up by (to coin Lenin's term) Useful idiots. So a black man can't wear the cross of St George - Could almost be perceived as a double negative, ie a positive: Political correctness is starting to backfire! I'd like also to pick up on the previous entrants last point: Yes, the sooner the rest of the country realises what comes out of London and (from Europe) Brussels is B/S and can't actually do any harm to us unless its applied, the better. Too many of our strings are pulled by a small and localised minority (the Kensington Set, if you like!): Really, I reckon England should go like this: London one Country, the rest England: It would be like Malaysia and Singapore. London has too much sway and not for the good of the rest of the Country.

I think it's considered offensive because it resembles a crusader's cross. In fact, today's St. George's cross is probably an accurate replica of what was used by crusaders. And we all know who is offended by that (and the new politically correct rule is that they must NEVER be offended).

Between the elimination of British History from the public school curricula and now this, I wonder how much longer there will be an England.

There will always be an England. It's not something you can get rid of very easily.

Ah, but a breath of fresh air via a response.

Best quote; " '1984' was written as a warning, not a fucking instruction manual."
