Amnesty International Now At Grade School Level

Amnesty International was once a legitimate human rights organization that strove to advance freedom and decency. Now, it is a festering nest of moonbattery devoted to denouncing the United States and Israel.

A current online poll gives an idea of the prevalent mentality at AI. Visiting moonbats are invited to vote on "Who's got the worst human rights record?" The options:

Vote for Darth Vader
Torture, enslavement of Wookiees, decimation of the Alderaanian civilization.
Vote for Hobgoblin
Attacks on Spiderman, gassing civilian populations, using innocents as human shields.
Vote for Dick Cheney
Torture, black sites, "disappearances," kangaroo courts, indefinite detention, and more!

Yet these people expect us to listen to them as if they were adults when they shake their little fists and scream about the evils of America.

With thanks to the snot-nosed children at Amnesty International.

Oh, yes.

They bang their sippy-cups against their high-chair trays and bray against those whom they fear not.

And whom do they attack?

Two fictional entities, and someone of whom they are well aware there will be no consequences for having leveled accusations including the slanderous, and even the treasonous.

They need to look up the definition of "decimate", that implies a 10% destruction. The way I see it, the Death Star "obliterated" Alderaanian society and, BTW, it was not him who gave he order it was Peter Cushing (Grand Moff Tarkin) who gave the order. I am sure that this would all come out in a war crimes trial if we ever got serious about prosecuting war criminals. of course, the real issue would become who to prosecute, David Prowse who wore the costume or James Earl Jones who supplied the voice. These are serious questions that deserve serious consideration before polite society disintegrates into a society that no longer cares about who the real terrorists are?

It depends on how litigious George Lucas and Sam Raimi are feeling.
At least the VP shows his own face.

Hey, why not add the Prophet Muhammed to the list for say the "decimation" of the Banu_Qurayza (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banu_Qurayza).

Now that would be speaking truth to power. Of course, it would involve actual risk that someone would behead them.

The changes in AI are absolutely tragic--they really have done some good work in the past and there are still so many human rights abuses happening in the world. Now they're more interested in stupid political stuff that everyone's heard a gazillion times.

Ace of Spades Noticed something about AI's description of Goblin's crimes: "gassing civilian populations, using innocents as human shields."

That's Saddam Hussein.

You know, the guy the Amnies wanted to leave in power because war was too icky.
