Alberto Gonzales v. Second Amendment

Alberto Gonzales, the lame puppy Bush picked as Attorney General, still isn't doing much to win the public's confidence. In a possible attempt to pander to the liberals who have been gunning for him, Gonzales is supporting anti–Second Amendment legislation introduced by Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), a fanatic opponent of our right to bear arms.

The "Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2007" uses terrorism as an excuse to deny Second Amendment rights on an arbitrary basis, without due process. As we have seen at airports, anti-terror measures do not necessarily target likely terrorists, as that would be "racist." To deny people the right to bear arms when they have not even been charged with a crime would be a big step toward repealing the Second Amendment.

Feeding Gonzales to the Democrat piranhas who have been after his head will only make them hungrier. But it's not like he would be missed at the Justice Department.

In other legal news, while Alberto IQ5 joins the attack on the second amendment, Rick Santorum is proven right, yet again.

Time's attention, like the BBC's, has been caught by the legal battles underway to decriminalize incest between consenting adults. An article last month by Time reporter Michael Lindenberger titled "Should Incest Be Legal?" highlights the case of Paul Lowe, an Ohio man convicted of incest for having sex with his 22-year-old stepdaughter. Lowe has appealed his conviction to the Supreme Court, making Lawrence the basis of his argument. In Lawrence, the court had ruled that people "are entitled to respect for their private lives" and that under the 14th Amendment, "the state cannot demean their existence or control their destiny by making their private sexual conduct a crime." If that was true for the adult homosexual behavior in Lawrence, why not for the adult incestuous behavior in the Ohio case?

Things like this are part of the reason alot of people want him gone.

As for the other thing about incest. Techically, a step father and step daughter isnt incest since they are not blood relatives. Though doing both the mother and daughter is creepy and low class.

V the K - Ha! A perverted man in a perverted church. He should just move to San Francisco where he could be a preacher in any church he wanted.

If he's serious, he should send his transcript to Oral Roberts or Liberty U. - they'd "straighten" him out! HA! I kill me!

Good one, Jimbo.

AG, the AG, pretty much demolished himself, I think, when he actually apologized for doing something for which no apology was necessary. And even "necessary" doesn't cut it -- say "for which such an act of contrition is almost obscene." A stupid move, and repugnant at the same time; not exactly who we want as the top lawdog, and certainly not for these tumultuous days.
