This won't come as a surprise, but Obama's Nixonian hostility toward media that he deems hostile has been thoroughly substantiated by Judicial Watch, which

has uncovered documents from the Obama Department of Treasury showing that the Obama administration, contrary to its repeated denials, attempted to exclude the Fox News Channel (FNC) from a round of interviews with Treasury's "Executive Pay Czar" Kenneth Feinberg. The documents, which include email exchanges within the Department of the Treasury and between Treasury and White House staff, also provide colorful evidence of an anti-Fox News bias within the Obama White House.

The documents, obtained last week by Judicial Watch pursuant to an October, 28, 2009, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, concern a series of interviews with Feinberg, who served as the Special Master for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) Executive Compensation, on October 22, 2009, organized by the Treasury Department. According to press reports, the Fox News Channel was specifically excluded from joining the pool of reporters which precipitated a backlash among the networks and a reversal by the Obama Treasury Department. …

The Treasury Department's official response, as detailed in back-and-forth emails uncovered by Judicial Watch, included a clear denial of any such plot to exclude Fox News from the interviews: "There was no plot to exclude Fox News, and they had the same interview that their competitors did. Much ado about absolutely nothing." Moreover, in an October 23, 2009 email to New York Times reporter Jim Rutenberg, Jake Siewart, Counselor to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, repeated the denial that there was an effort to exclude Fox News Channel: "Call me today on your Fox-Treasury report," Siewart wrote. "Not true that there was an 'effort to exclude' Fox."

However, despite this public position, internal Obama administration emails obtained by Judicial Watch provide evidence that FNC was specifically singled out for exclusion. According to one October 22, 2009, email exchange between Dag Vega, Director of Broadcast Media on the White House staff, to Jenni LeCompte, then-Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs in the Treasury Department, Vega informs LeCompte that "…we'd prefer if you skip Fox please."

Imagine how incriminating the stuff they blacked out must be:

The Treasury Department blacked out a key email regarding its refusal to make available Treasury Secretary Geithner for an interview on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace.

Pulitzer Prizes don't mean much these days. Making the Manchurian Moonbat's enemies list is the ultimate journalistic honor.

According to the doomy rhetoric from the governmedia, America will go broke and collapse on August 2 because Republicans don't want to raise both taxes and the debt even higher. Not Obama though — he will be living large:

[The Moonbat Messiah] is planning an extravagant fundraising bash Aug. 3 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, including a birthday concert teeming with celebrities and — for couples contributing $35,800 — a private dinner with the president. All this just one day after the government is scheduled to run out of cash!

Undoubtably, the sight of so much money getting thrown around and dissolute stars crooning to Obama will make a stirring contrast with a federal government bankruptcy featuring unpaid government workers, seniors and soldiers wondering how they'll afford the groceries, shuttered national parks, and angry investors trying to cash out their Treasury Bills.

If the government defaults, you can be sure the birthday bacchanal will do much more to harm Obama's reelection prospects than help them.

Except that he has the media on his side to spin events in his favor. In any case, hysterical lies notwithstanding, the only way the government is going to default on the debt is if Democrats are allowed to keep lifting the ceiling. But maybe Tax Cheat Timmy's Treasury Department should take out a loan from Lord Obama just in case.

You won't escape the relentless and deliberate homosexualization of America without turning off your television.

The Discovery Channel has been running a "reality" series called "One Man Army," in which contestants must undergo challenges similar to special forces training. At last, an alternative to American Idol and metrosexual sit-coms, something made for men, right? Sure: until the contest is won by Jeffrey, the only guy with no military or law enforcement experience, who then piteously bleats that he couldn't join the military because he's a homosexual.

Needless to say, even before the insane repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell, Jeffrey could have joined the Armed Forces; he just would have been asked not to make too much of a pageant of his predilection for depravity. Being noisily homosexual didn't keep Wikileaks traitor Bradley Manning out of the Army.

The moonbattery is as subtle as a two-by-four across the forehead. Even the New York Times acknowledged it:

The best propaganda doesn't tip its hand. Want to make a show that engenders respect and sympathy for the armed forces without complications? Take it out of the theater of war.

[…One Man Army] is part of the passive militarization of popular culture: not the lionizing of active-duty soldiers that would come directly from the armed services, but rather using people with military and paramilitary backgrounds as a casting pool for sympathetic characters.

[…The revelation that Jeffrey is light in the loafers] is an implicit rebuke to the military that kept him at arm's length. Maybe it's an inconvenient truth, or maybe it's propaganda of a different sort.

Ya think?

The Slimes is right about good propaganda not tipping its hand. If people knew in advance that the point was to have a homosexual win so he could spew lefty politics, who would sit through it?

Detained at Quantico, Bradley Manning couldn't take part.

I hope you enjoyed the fireworks on the Fourth, because if the EPA has its way, it could be the last chance you'll have:

The Environmental Protection Agency is at it again — this time eyeing smog standards so stringent it could actually force cities to choose between July 4th fireworks and hugely expensive new rules.

Draconian smog standards are already on the verge of killing fireworks displays in towns like Wichita.

That's because the city's 4th of July fireworks pushed its ozone levels over the EPA limit for the third day this year. One more violation and it could find itself forced to produce an EPA-approved smog-cutting plan that would, as the Wichita Eagle reported, "cost taxpayers and businesses millions of dollars."

Now, the EPA is expected to announce later this month if it'll tighten the smog standard even more. Doing so would shove still more cities into the "polluted" category and leave many more with just a fireworks display between them and costly EPA mandates.

And make no mistake: The price tag will be big. The EPA puts the cost at upward of $90 billion a year. But the Manufacturers Alliance says it'll be closer to $1 trillion, and will cost millions of jobs as companies spend increasingly large amounts of money to scrub increasingly small amounts of pollutants out of the air.

All this money, however, will do little, if anything, to improve public health, despite what green groups or the American Lung Association might insist.

Joel Schwartz, co-author of the book "Air Quality in America," notes that "evidence has mounted that ozone at current, historically low levels is causing little or no harm, even in the most polluted areas of the country."

It's just icing on the cake that experiencing patriotic Fourth of July celebrations makes kids more likely to become Republicans. For progressives, the purpose of repression is repression.

Rich Karlgaard provides a little context for the class warfare rhetoric our Community Organizer in Chief recently used to denounce Americans who are successful enough to fly personal jets:

Barack Obama, who rails against tax breaks for corporate jets, flies in the biggest jet of all — a Boeing 747.

A normal 747 costs $320 million. Lord Obama's comes with all sorts of special features out of a James Bond movie that probably bring the cost to around $500 million. Operation costs come to about $100 million per year.

Gee, wouldn't you call that a form of compensation? The president of the U.S. makes $400,000 in salary but he gets a perk that is worth $100 million a year. Cool! I'm not even counting the annual costs of his other perks — ground transportation in limos, free digs at the White House, the parties, the First Lady's trips, and so on.

Just one perk, Air Force One, is worth $100 million a year.

You are right, Mr. President. Let's end this tax break for corporate jets. Which means, you pay up, Big Guy! You owe the IRS roughly $35 million a year for your personal jet.

But of course, jets are only decadent if you pay for them with wealth you created. If they are paid for with money stolen from others, there's no moral stigma. As for taxes — as Democrat donor Leona Helmsley famously said and Obama's crony capitalist buddies at GE confirm — only little people pay them.
