The True Meaning of Memorial Day

Featuring Amazing Grace sung by LeAnn Rimes:

On a tip from G. Fox.

Jesus, celebrities, and military fetishism?

I guess it follows the spirit of Christmas: Jesus and buying shit.

Or Thanksgiving: Jesus and American obesity.

Or 4 July: Jesus and blowing shit up.

Then right wingers have the nerve to try and repeal May Day and MLK Day so their stupid holidays stand out.

Who let the turd in?

Go jerk off to Ann Coulter, that Jesus spewing, unmarried, childless, promiscuous, intersex charlatain so popular with you teabaggers.

Posted by: Günther at May 30, 2011 12:48 PM

Nice tribute to the men and women in uniform who sacrificed their lives in service of the Country. MLK,a Republican baptist clergyman, would have observed the occasion with grace and respect.

Thanks to the men and women who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. Saying "Thank You" doesn't seem good enough but I do it anyway.

God Bless Our Fallen Heroes. EACH and EVERYONE of them.

Your sacrifice is not forgotten...
God bless you for the ultimate sacrifice.

God bless your families.
God bless the USA!

Sucks to be you, Günther.

.

I suggest that Günter be banned for name jacking. There are thousands of innocent Günters in the world whose names are being besmirched and dragged through the mud by this Commie loon.

Grunter's got a lot of hate. I'm a lover; not a fighter. But I carry a S&W M&P .45 just in case. Get some therapy Grunter; your socialist med will pay for it.

Just in case somebody disagrees with your right wing Christian capitalist Anglo-centric world view?

It is disturbing you blatantly advertise your killing ability in response to a political disagreement.

Get help. We don't need a repeat of the armed right winger in Tucson.

He was a left wing crank with a drug-poisoned brain, you fucking idiot.

Gunther,
"Jesus, celebrities, and military fetishism?....Then right wingers have the nerve to try and repeal May Day and MLK Day so their stupid holidays stand out."
Screw you, Goonturd.
1. Our holidays are far from "Stupid." They're about honoring our nation's history, and for some (i.e. Christmas and Easter) honoring the Lord Jesus Christ. How funny that a mindless punk like you who'd promote an idiotic, pathetic excuse for a holiday like May Day (Celebrated by nobody but pretentious, dope- addled Communists and Anarchists who just use it as an excuse to get violent) would refer to our time- honored holidays as "Stupid."
2. Nobody I know of has sought to repeal either of the holidays you mentioned (Although in the future, it would be a good idea for police forces to crank up their squads on May Day to help better reign in the repulsive Communist and Anarchist twentysomethings that seek to engage in vandalism, violence, and rioting on that day, and though I'm saddened at how much MLK Day has been hijacked and perverted by ultra- liberal race- baiters such as yourself).
3. You call it "Military fetishism" just because Memorial Day is about wanting to honor and express thanks for the brave men and women who've sacrificed everything for the sake of our freedom? Again, screw you, traitorous pig.
4. Independence Day (July 4th) is NOT about Jesus, although some might say a public prayer at celebrations of it or something. It's about honoring the birth of our country.
5. For all your crude, insulting generalizations about what you think our holidays are about, let's look at what yours are about:
MLK Jr. Day: Long since perverted by ultra- liberals from a day for people to honor all the good Dr. King (A Christian pastor, in case your blind hatred of the faith prevents you from recognizing that little detail about him) did in his life to promote racial harmony, into an excuse for radical black nationalists like Al Sharpton and the Nation of Islam crowd (The same sorts of people who, in Dr. King's day, referred to him as a "Chump" and his followers as "Uncle Toms" for advocating nonviolent resistance and promoting racial harmony rather than black supremacy) to spew racial hatred against whites, and for white liberals to wallow in self- imposed guilt over the color of their own skin.
May Day: An excuse for spoiled, dope- addled Anarchist and Communist trust- fund brats to engage in vandalism, violence, looting, and rioting with the deliberate intent of turning cities into war zones.

Gunther needs a time out.....or an aluminum base ball bat up side his f'n mellon! I say aluminum, because sometimes wooden ones might break when you bang them on a rock.

Posted by: G.Fox at May 30, 2011 6:11 PM

Gunther:

Speaking as a War on Terrorism veteran who has lost brothers in battle, have you ever for once considered that the venomous vitriol that you spew from that disgusting sewer of a mouth of yours deeply hurts your fellow countrymen who wore the uniform? Have you ever for once given a second's thought that perhaps post traumatic stress isn't really brought on by the rigors and aftermath of combat so much as it is learning to live amongst douchebags who denounce the actions of those who have trained their hands for war, and their fingers for battle.

It's because of guys like you that I never finished college, and now abuse my body in hard labor as an ironworker for a paycheck to provide for my family. Going back to school was a bit unbearable when sitting in a class taught by one of your ilk and being selected out of the crowd because of my haircut, my tattoos, and my bearing, having to agree to bullshit claims of American atrocity or suffering the ire of more stringent and unsurvivable grading.

As for me, I spend this day remembering LCpl Bryan Bertrand, flight mechanic of "Raider Zero Four," that crashed under nighttime operations in Pakistan in January 2002 and LCpl Lawrence Philippon, killed on Mother's Day 2005, by enemy small-arms fire in Al-Qa'im, while patrolling as a rifleman with 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines.

Gunther, I pray we never meet.

"Anonymous at May 30, 2011 7:15 PM"

The douche is NOT an American, brother. Not that that excuses his stupidity.

Posted by: KHarn at May 30, 2011 7:22 PM

Anonymous, I am sorry to hear that.

It sounds as if you have an inadequate paycheck and inadequate medical care. That is truly a tragedy, because iron workers do a tough and thankless job.

Socialism is the answer. Socialism restores the power to the working people. Imagine how much better your life would be if your pay justly reflected the work you did. Imagine how your working conditions would improve when you and your coworkers became the management. Imagine how good of medical care you would receive when a social medicine system puts people before profit.

I can help you get started with understanding socialism here, or you can contact your local union representative to become active in the labor movement. Unions are an excellent starting point to get in touch with people who can help you on the road to class consciousness and later to help you become a leader in organizing other workers in the struggle for a socialist world.

Here are some good places to get started:

A great place to start is the Communist Manifesto:

A beautiful song, for a beautiful video.

"A greater love has no man than this: that he lay down his life for his friend."

To the hater: it's called gratitude, jackass. Not that an entitlement brat like you would even understand the concept. We have personal defense not because people disagree with our ideas, but because they disagree with our breathing. Now, I don't know about you, but I like breathing. I like existing too, by the way. It's a lot more fun than laying in a coffin. Our men and women in the military take upon themselves the heavy burden of holding back those who would kill us. They keep us safe from annihilation 24/7. Without them, we would just be another item on the news of a country that does have a military, "Genocide of American civilians continues into the third month..." is not a headline I ever want to read, and the least you can do is say thank you to the people that prevent it from happening.

Posted by: FreedomFox at May 30, 2011 7:33 PM

What about the headline that the indiscriminate killing of Iraqi civilians is dragging on into the eight year? Manning did a real number on your no collateral damage myth.

Posted by: Günther at May 30, 2011 7:35 PM

Alright. It's obvious that Goonter is a parody poster or sock trying to stimulate comments or just get attention in the manner of a classic troll.
No one born of woman can seriously be that titanically ,willfully ignorant and psychotically contrarian.
The dude should be treated as what he is:
a grindingly bad act in a small time comedy club.

Posted by: LeBron Steinman at May 30, 2011 8:31 PM

Last time I checked, Al-Qaida and the Taliban were doing plenty of indiscriminate killing of their own. You don't seem to have a problem with them though, I guess they're sufficiently totalitarian for your taste.

We go to ludicrous lengths to avoid civilian casualties, far further than any other country and far more than I think we should even bother with. In the environment there, if some idiot picks up an AK-47 and starts shooting at our troops, he's an enemy combatant. As for everyone else, if the enemy throws them into harm's way and they're too dumb to evacuate from war zones like we do, it's not really our fault they died. There's no magical "FF off" flag in real life: incoming fire has the right of way.

If a masked man pushes someone into the path of an oncoming train, is their death the train's fault or the person that pushed them? The same applies to the despicable practice of using human shields.

JUST WATCH HIM POST HIS SAD PATHETIC DRIVEL BY HIMSELF....PLEASE.

Do not feed the troll.

We tried to reason with him yesterday, and he ignored everything. He is not here to debate, but to highjack the conversation.

Do not feed the troll.

Posted by: Sgt Stadenko at May 30, 2011 11:18 PM

You are incapable of reason. You will not hear anything you do not want to hear. The planet is in crisis and our society is in crisis. Socialism is the answer. You aren't willing to listen.

Posted by: Günther at May 31, 2011 10:19 AM

Hmmmmm Gunther? is that a shorter version of another german name HITLER?

Posted by: So What at May 31, 2011 11:45 AM

Dude get a grip on life.
