Losing His Cool

The erstwhile Anointed One has been campaigning in the bluest of blue venues in hopes of preventing an absolute rout on Tuesday. But even there the Agitator in Chief has found himself getting agitated at other agitators:

Apparently there's no such thing as a friendly venue for Comrade Obama at this point — unless he wants to restrict his campaigning to liberal establishment newsrooms.

As for the "other side" not spending any money on global AIDS: W threw more of our money at Africa in the name of this side effect of degeneracy than anyone else in history, tripling the amount of aid — earning him not the least bit of approval from liberals.

Democrat Congressional Candidate Kesha Rogers Calls for Obama to Be Removed From Office

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:04 AM

You know the bloom is off the rose for Comrade Obama when even Democrat candidates are producing videos like this:

A little background:

[Harris County, Texas Democrat] Party Chairman Gerry Birnberg … was asked what he thought of Kesha Rogers, a Lyndon LaRouche follower who won the Democratic nomination to challenge Rep. Pete Olson, R-Sugar Land. The centerpiece of her campaign was to impeach President Obama.
Birnberg said then that Rogers had much to commend her, despite her affiliation with LaRouche, and that "if she can turn out young people to vote for Democrats, all the better."
Since then, Rogers has been sending out regular press releases calling Obama crazy, a danger to the country and calling for his removal from office, as well as the reinstatement of the Glass-Steagall Act to save the nation.
She has bumped it up a notch with a video on her campaign Web site and the LaRouche PAC Web.

As you can see above, the video calls for applying the 25th Amendment, which provides for the president to be removed from power when he "is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office."

Even if Rogers is on the right track regarding Obama, voters are advised to stick with Republican Pete Olson.

Harry Reid's Son in Charge of Nevada Voting Machines Used in Fraud

Posted by Dave Blount at 2:03 PM

What could be worse than putting Nevada voting machines under the control of Obama's hyperpartisan friends at the SEIU? How about putting them under the control of Harry Reid's son?

Rory Reid is running as the Democratic nominee for governor of Nevada against Republican Brian Sandoval. Rory currently holds the office of Chairman of the powerful Clark County Commission…

El Rushbo explains what this means:

This is Mark Hemingway in the Washington Examiner: "Clark County is where three quarters of Nevada's residents and live and where Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's son Rory is a county commissioner." That means that Harry Reid's son is the person in charge of overseeing the election machines that are being maintained by the SEIU. Now, why would Rory Reid be suspected of any shenanigans here? But he is. "Since early voting started, there have been credible reports that voting machines in Clark County, Nevada are automatically checking Harry Reid's name on the ballot."

Just call it the Audacity of Arrogance.

Denver Moonbats Prepare to Greet Space Aliens

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:48 AM

Just how far out there are some of the moonbats infesting Denver? Farther than you can see with the Hubble telescope:

Ballot Initiative 300 would require the city to set up an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission, stocked with Ph.D. scientists, to "ensure the health, safety and cultural awareness of Denver residents" when it comes to future contact "with extraterrestrial intelligent beings or their vehicles."
Promoting the initiative: Jeff Peckman, a silver-haired entrepreneur who lives with his parents. "Low overhead," he explains. Mr. Peckman is a firm believer in intergalactic life, though he has never been personally contacted by an alien. That gives him more credibility, he says; it's harder to dismiss him as biased. …
Initiative 300 made it to Tuesday's ballot on the strength of roughly 4,000 voter signatures. It starts from the premise that intelligent aliens have been visiting Earth for decades, but the federal government has conspired to keep that quiet.
"We need to get this out of the realm of the Tooth Fairy and into the realm of diplomatic protocol," says Ricky Butterfass, who works on the campaign.

Lest you think this lunacy is a product of the thin mountain air, the United Nations already has an Office for Outer Space Affairs, which is supported by your tax dollars.

Initiative 300 would require setting up an official commission and posting its findings on the city of Denver's website.

Recognizing that ET contact protocols aren't foremost in the minds of voters these days, Mr. Peckman has refined his pitch on Initiative 300. These days, he promotes it as a jobs bill.

Nasty Pelousy used the same approach to sell ObamaCare, which is now expected to kill 800,000 jobs.

Why would aliens be particularly likely to visit Denver? Because it's the Mile High City, and consequently closer to outer space. After traveling for light years, Chewbacca and friends might not have enough gas left to make it down to lower elevations.

Mr. Peckman didn't have much luck with the last initiative he managed to put on the Denver ballot. That was a 2003 measure that would have required the city to "help ensure public safety by increasing peacefulness" through stress-reduction techniques such as mass meditation or the piping into public buildings of soothing primordial sounds. Voters rejected it.
This time, Mr. Peckman thinks he might pull it off. His campaign has its own rap song…

Ghost hunter Bryan Bonner apparently thinks Peckman is giving eccentrics a bad name. His website assures us that "Peckman and his 'little green people' are not representative of the people of Denver."

"Little green people," Mr. Peckman responds with outrage, is a "racial slur."

If the aliens do show up, they're welcome to take me away with them. Any other world has got to be less moonbatty than this one.

Denver may roll out the red carpet for aliens.

McDonald's Sued for Providing Free Lunches

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:32 AM

With Comrade Obama at the helm, America seems destined to lose its lead in most everything. But at least we should still be able to top the rest of the world in wacky lawsuits, given our moonbattery-addled legal system and excessive population of pathologically greedy lawyers. Then again, maybe not:

A Brazilian court ruled this week that McDonald's must pay a former franchise manager $17,500 because he gained 65 pounds (30 kilograms) while working there for a dozen years.
The 32-year-old man said he felt forced to sample the food each day to ensure quality standards remained high, because McDonald's hired "mystery clients" to randomly visit restaurants and report on the food, service and cleanliness.
The man also said the company offered free lunches to employees, adding to his caloric intake while on the job.

I'm starting to grasp the point of the moronic movie Super Size Me, in which the pathetic Michael Moore wannabe Morgan Spurlock makes the audience watch him pig out on Big Macs until he puts on weight. It wasn't meant as entertainment, but as a training film for parasites looking for a tasty way to set up a lawsuit.

Somebody in Brazil has lousy taste in movies.

Still More Ecohypocrisy From Al Gore

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:47 AM

With his grand hoax collapsing around him, the Goracle must think no one is paying attention to his outlandish hypocrisy anymore. But the ecorighteous Prince Albert is still good for a laugh. As usual, the Godfather of Global Warming is on tour…

This time, he turned up in Gothenburg (Sweden) for the usual alarmist talk. In advance, all distinguished guests were politely advised to — if possible — use any form of public transportation to go to the event, in order to minimize CO2 emissions.
Intriguingly, the Master of World Climate himself arrived in a rental car (with or without driver is unclear), from the airport, and subsequently left the engine running for the entire lecture. That is to say, about one hour. Incidentally, local legislation prohibits — for very good environmental reasons, i e pollution — any car engine running on empty for more than 60 seconds. Fines are severe. As far as I know, he was not fined.

This is par for the course for Al Snore. Even when he received his Ignoble Prize for ecomoonbattery, he couldn't refrain from the cartoonishly extreme hypocrisy that has made him a laughing stock:

After the ceremony in the Norwegian capital Oslo, it is customary that the laureate is invited to the Swedish capital Stockholm, for a cordial visit. The train ride, supposedly the environmental choice according to Mr. Gore, is approximately four hours. However, he opted for the cosier ride with one of the Swedish government aircrafts. As these can, according to the rules, only be used when a cabinet member is on board — and as the Swedish government after a short ceremonial visit — offered to fly him to Frankfurt (Germany) for his flight to the US, you can calculate both the manpower and the fuel used for this grand tour against man's destruction of the planet.

Meanwhile, he wants the rest of us to travel by rickshaw on behalf of the polar bears.

Buffalo Teachers Blow $9 Million in Public Money on Plastic Surgery in 1 Year

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:07 AM

Why is it that we shovel more and more money at public education, but its quality just keeps getting worse? This offers a clue:

Buffalo teachers left taxpayers on the hook for nearly $9 million worth of cosmetic surgery last year, according to the state-appointed authority overseeing public school finances.
The Buffalo Fiscal Stability Authority found that last year's costs for elective procedures such as chemical peels and other skin treatments were up $8 million over 2004's $1 million tab for cosmetic surgery.
The procedures, provided under the teachers' union contract, accounted for 9 percent of the district's total spending on health benefits for employees and retirees, The Buffalo News reported Thursday.

Party hardy, public employees. Very soon the people footing the bill for your wild times are going to rise up and put a stop to the fun. So spend fast, before someone shuts off the money spigot.

Since we're paying for it, let's hope the teachers' plastic surgery turned out better than Jacko's.

Biodiversity, the Left's Next Big Hoax

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:45 AM

Rebranding global warming as "climate change" won't keep the dying hoax alive; too many people have caught on that it's a lie. It's time for our moonbat rulers to invent a new crisis in an attempt to justify their never-ending war on our freedom and wealth. Biodiversity might work:

With all the shamelessness of a Goldman Sachser trading in his middle-aged wife for a hot, pouting twentysomething called Ivanka, the green movement is ditching "Climate Change". The newer, younger, sexier model's name? Biodiversity. …
When I say shameless, I'm talking so amoral it makes the Whore of Babylon look like Mother Theresa; so flagrant it makes Al Gore's, ahem, alleged drunken "Love poodle" assault on the Portland Masseuse look like an especially delicate passage from Andreas Capellanus's The Art of Courtly Love.

Liberals will eagerly buy anything with "diversity" in the name without looking at the price tag. The rest of us are in for some sticker shock. Like the debunked global warming hoax, biodiversity involves the insatiably greedy United Nations taking money from you and passing it out among socialist dictators in places like Africa:

Developing nations say more funding is needed from developed countries to share the effort in saving nature. Much of the world's remaining biological diversity is in developing nations such as Brazil, Indonesia and in central Africa.
"Especially for countries with their economies in transition, we need to be sure where the (financial) resources are," Eng. B.T. Baya, director-general of Tanzania's National Environment Management Council, told Reuters.

Baya knows perfectly well where the financial resources are: in your bank account. Comrade Obama will be more than happy to move them from there to Baya's on behalf of the three-toed bat-winged ground sloth, or whatever huggable doe-eyed creature the media is hyping at the moment.

Climate change had the advantage that the climate never stops changing. Similarly, species never stop going extinct. Only a tiny percentage of the species that have existed are still around today. Meanwhile,

Despite the U.N.'s fear that biodiversity may be at risk, scientists over the past decade have identified new species at an unprecedented rate. The 2008 World Wildlife Fund (WWF) study First Contact in the Greater Mekong reported that 1,068 species were discovered or newly identified by science between 1997 and 2007 — averaging two new species a week. And the Census of Marine Life — an ambitious, 10-year project to catalog the diversity of the world's oceans — recently concluded, having identified more than 6,000 potentially new ocean-going species.

Information like this will soon become scarce, as biologists, like climate scientists, are compelled to become political hacks in exchange for lucrative government grants.

In case it isn't obvious that this is a cheesy sequel to A Convenient Lie, Japanese Environment Minister Ryu Matsumoto ominously intones,

"We are nearing a tipping point, or the point of no return for biodiversity loss."

The dreaded tipping point is once again upon us! Grab hold of your wallet with both hands.

Obama Laughed At by Jon Stewart's Audience

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:44 AM

At this point, not even establishment moonbats can take the erstwhile Anointed One seriously as he flounders pathetically amid the ruin he has made of the Democrat Party. WaPo's Dana Milbank shakes his head in grief over the dishonor Obama has brought to the presidency by subjecting himself to Jon Stewart's ridicule:

On Comedy Central, the joke was on President Obama Wednesday night.
The president had come, on the eve of what will almost certainly be the loss of his governing majority, to plead his case before Jon Stewart, gatekeeper of the disillusioned left. But instead of displaying the sizzle that won him an army of youthful supporters two years ago, Obama had a Brownie moment.
The Daily Show host was giving Obama a tough time about hiring the conventional and Clintonian Larry Summers as his top economic advisor.
"In fairness," the president replied defensively, "Larry Summers did a heckuva job."
"You don't want to use that phrase, dude," Stewart recommended with a laugh.
Dude. The indignity of a comedy show host calling the commander in chief "dude" pretty well captured the moment for Obama.

Try to imagine Ronaldus Magnus crawling into a playpen to unsuccessfully beg a professional clown for approval.

A low point in American history came after Stewart asked,

"You wouldn't say you'd run this time as a pragmatist? It wouldn't be, 'Yes we can, given certain conditions?'"
"I think what I would say is yes we can, but — "
Stewart, and the audience, laughed at the "but."
Obama didn't laugh.

Stewart's liberal audience wasn't laughing with him, but at him — and at anyone who still takes this tragic farce of a presidency seriously.

Still More Democrat Vote Fraud

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:18 AM

November is coming, all right. You can tell by all the Democrats already getting caught indulging in election fraud:

Daytona Beach City Commissioner Derrick Henry and his campaign manager Genesis Robinson face dozens of felony charges involving alleged absentee ballot fraud from Henry's re-election campaign two months ago.
Authorities say they illegally obtained 92 absentee ballots to boost Henry's re-election chances. Some voters said they never requested absentee ballots that were in their names, which is a common complaint we have been hearing from across the country, and it echoes a new potentially explosive case.

In Pennsylvania, in the Eighth Congressional District of Bucks County, authorities tell us more than 500 absentee ballot applications are allegedly fraudulent. …
Voter Patricia Phipps said someone came to her home, and "asked me to sign my name to prove that he was there. He told me that if he collected enough signatures, he would get to meet President Obama… I was never told that I was signing an absentee ballot request."
Voters also say they received letters soliciting absentee ballot applications from the "Pennsylvania Voters Assistance Office," threatening that they may not be able to vote if they did not cooperate and sign an absentee ballot application. The only problem? There is no such office. The letter said it was actually "paid for by PA Victory 2010, a project of the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee."

Further north,

The Bucks County absentee ballot case appears similar to the ongoing case in Troy, New York that we have extensively covered.
A special prosecutor has taken DNA samples from nine Troy public officials and political operatives, including five Democratic members of the City Council, in an absentee ballot scandal stemming from the 2009 Working Families Party primary there. The DNA will be compared to samples recovered from dozens of absentee ballots and ballot applications that were allegedly fraudulent. As in Bucks County, voters in Troy said they never filled out the applications.

Election shenanigans are getting to be standard operating procedure in Dingy Harry country:

Meanwhile, in Nevada next month, ACORN goes on trial for voter registration fraud charges. The troubled community activist group faces criminal charges stemming from its voter programs in the 2008 election.

But don't forget, Republicans are just as bad:

Democrats, however, claim it's the Republicans who are trying to intimidate voters and suppress the vote by bringing allegations of voter fraud.

As they paint themselves ever deeper into a corner, Dems have taken their reflexive projection defense to the last extreme of absurdity by suggesting that it's a crime to make an issue of their crimes.

Do you want to live in a second-rate banana republic? Then by all means vote Democrat. Otherwise get to the polls and help the rest of us overcome the ever-widening margin of fraud.

Dems Defect

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:28 AM

It's time to stick a fork in Hopey Change and the party it plunged into ultra-left extremism when you start reading cries of horror and rage from lifelong Democrats like the open letter Kevin DuJan of HillBuzz wrote to Rush Limbaugh. Highlights:

I can't imagine ever voting for another Democrat again, as long as I live. To Hell with Democrats. This was solidified for me on Christmas Eve of last year, when Democrats rushed Obamacare through the Senate in the dead of night, through various secret channels, and every single Democrat voted for its passage (even supposed moderates like Evan Bayh in Indiana, who quickly realized his vote would cost him re-election … so the coward retired rather then face angry voters over what he did). I just don't believe Democrats should be given elected office by voters because they cannot be trusted to even read bills before they vote on them, not even when said bills seek to permanently alter the entire American economy. This is reckless and reprehensible to the point of treason.

Obamunists have taken the wheel and lurched it so far to the left, all but the most unscrupulous, unhinged, and/or clueless Democrats have been left behind.

While I was always aware Democrats use unions and other means to cheat in elections, I never knew the Democrat Party was capable of the large-scale, aggressive, unapologetic fraud it committed on Obama's behalf all through 2008. In Iowa, I watched Obama's ACORN and SEIU goons push and shove old people, bully them, and intimidate them when they wanted to vote for Hillary Clinton. I saw scores of Illinois license plates fill the parking lots outside caucus locations, with Chicagoland Obama supporters illegally entering the Caucus sites to vote for Obama and game Iowa for him. Having planned ahead, Obama supporters actually RAN those caucus sites, and held the doors open for all these fraudulent voters to walk right in, without being asked for IDs, where they then took control of the caucuses and bullied the Iowa residents into supporting Obama — lest they be called RAAACISTS! out in the open in front of their friends and neighbors in those open-air caucuses.

The seeds of disaffection sown during the 2008 primaries have grown into sturdy plants and are beginning to blossom:

During the campaign, Donna Brazile famously said that the Democrat Party no longer needed the people Obama once described as "bitter, religion-and-guns-clinging, Midwesterners". Brazile took this further and said, outright, that the Democrat party did not need blue-collar white voters, the Jacksonian voters, the Hillary voters, because the party was "Obamafied" and would win elections for generations with the Obama coalition of blacks, Leftist elites, Hispanics, low information gay voters, and self-hating Jews.

This coalition gives Dems control of academia and most of the media — but not the votes to stay in power for long. Supporters of Obama's fellow Alinskyite Shrillary are reportedly defecting in droves.

Here in Chicago, just about everyone who was part of Team Hillary efforts with me on the ground has completely divorced themselves from the Democrat Party. Being called a racist repeatedly and hearing from Donna Brazile that we are not needed will do that to a person.
But in a bigger sense, Democrats, by being so shameless and aggressive with the voter fraud in 2008 have opened too many eyes for us to ever go back to pretending that fraud and corrupt practices aren't the hallmark of the Democrat Party.

Here's a great metaphor:

There was a show on ABC a few years ago called Alias starring Jennifer Garner in which she played a woman working for a company called Credit Dauphine … which she was told was a front for a CIA organization called SD6. Garner's character, Sidney Bristow, carried out her missions for SD6, overlooking different things the organization did that she might not have liked, because she thought she was doing what was best for the country. And then, one day, Sidney learned SD6 was actually an enemy of America … that it's real mission was to destroy the country … that everything Sidney was told about SD6 was a lie. The mask came off SD6, and Sidney Bristow realized she had to work aggressively to take the whole enterprise down. …
Those of us who worked Democrat campaigns in the past put up with union associations and the other unsavory aspects of being a Democrat because we were told this was the only way Democrats could win … with union muscle. But, in 2008 the Democrats revealed themselves to be an SD6 conglomeration of every force in this country that wants to bring America down, tank our economy, usurp our Constitution, and lay waste to the American way of life. …
I know for a fact that people I worked with on the Hillary 2008 campaign have been actively working against every single Democrat who supported Obama's nomination. …we are now doing everything we can, behind the scenes, to use everything we know about the Democrat Party to collapse it from within.

Obama's purpose is to bring down America from the inside. It would be hard to improve on the irony of the same happening to the execrable party that put him in power.

Not even Shrillary supporters like what the Democrat Party has degenerated into.

ObamaCare Will Cost 800,000 Jobs per Congressional Report

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:01 AM

At least no one can say that the Democrat agenda is incoherent. Every major policy pursued by our current government shares a central objective: to drive up unemployment, thereby increasing the public's reliance on socialist bureaucrats who will "spread the wealth around." Until they get Cap & Tax through, ObamaCare is the crown jewel in this regard. According to a congressional report:

The CBO estimates that the legislation, on net, will reduce the amount of labor used in the economy by a small amount — roughly half a percent — primarily by reducing the amount of labor that workers choose to supply, which is more than 788,470 employees.

That's almost 800,000 more families herded into the Democrat camp — according to theory, anyway. The strategy worked like a charm for FDR, keeping him in power for ages. Unfortunately for Dems, the public has more access to information than it did in the 30s and 40s. This time, we know what's being done to us.

High Versus Low

If classiness determined election results, the pounding Dems are in for would look mild by comparison. After Democrat mouthpiece Joy Behar repeatedly denounced Sharron Angle as a "bitch" and announced that she is going to hell, the backlash against the odious woman's obnoxiousness resulted in a renewed torrent of donations to Harry Reid's opponent. Angle politely acknowledged Behar's unwitting assistance with a bouquet of flowers and this gracious note:

"Joy, Raised $150,000 online yesterday. Thanks for your help. Sincerely, Sharron Angle."

The lovely flowers:

Behar responded in character by belching:

"I would like to point out that those flowers were picked by illegal immigrants and they're not voting for you, bitch."

It would be nice to think that illegal aliens aren't voting for anybody. But then, it would be nice to think that someone as vulgar and repugnant as Joy Behar wouldn't be able to generate an audience of glassy-eyed moonbats who slap their hands together like trained seals every time she says something vile.

Slick Willie Appearance Fizzles

Posted by Dave Blount at 12:34 PM

Despite personifying the "everybody does it" moral ethos of the Democrat Party, impeached degenerate Bill Clinton — still considered by some the party's only remaining rock star in the aftermath of the Moonbat Messiah's implosion — just doesn't have the juice he used to:

Former President Bill Clinton's 'get out the vote' rally for Democrats at a downtown Chicago hotel was the most unenthusiastic WLS veteran political reporter Bill Cameron has ever witnessed.
Clinton was an hour late for the Tuesday afternoon rally at the Palmer House and droned on for another hour, sending dozens of the few hundred Democrats in attendance for the exits.

The Era of Big Government may not be over as Clinton promised, but the era of people liking it sure is.

Don't do it, you've got so much to live for. Well, not really.

NPR's Vivian Schiller Part of Liberal Bid to Nationalize Media

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:08 AM

Vivian Schiller, the obnoxious Stalinist CEO of taxpayer-funded NPR who not only fired Juan Williams but felt the need to denounce him as psychiatrically unfit for committing a trivial thought crime, is among the statist apparatchiks pushing for a federal takeover of the news media:

Schiller, a former New York Times executive, is one of a few dozen power players working with the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Trade Commission and a leftist group called Free Press to "reinvent journalism." That's how the FTC describes it. The FCC calls what they are doing the "Future of Journalism." Free Press, a think tank funded by leftist billionaire George Soros, among others, calls it "the new public media."
It's all the same thing, a plan to take over local news coverage from for-profit television, radio and print media, which Schiller and her friends claim is in danger of extinction. These "friends" get together regularly with the heads of the FCC and FTC to brainstorm the details in government and congressional meetings. These meetings include the leaders of all the country's public broadcasting outlets, including PBS, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and American Public Media.
They are beefing up their staffs in local news markets with herds of public news reporters to "take over" coverage as commercial media fails. Nationwide, this will cost $40 billion to $60 billion over a decade, they believe. Their plans, according to the FCC's Future of Media report, are to raise this money by taxing for-profit news organizations — the ones whose reporting Schiller is supposedly trying to "save." They want to charge "spectrum fees" of five percent of broadcast station revenues for use of the public spectrum and airwaves, which the government controls. They figure that could bring in $1.8 billion a year. A one percent tax on all electronic devices like cell phones, televisions and laptops could bring in billions more. So would a monthly fee on internet subscriptions.
While conservatives were busy arguing that NPR should be defunded in the wake of the Williams debacle, Schiller was putting the finishing touches on the national infrastructure NPR has launched to deliver this new government news product to cities across the nation. A decade ago, defunding NPR would have sufficed. To stop Schiller now, Republicans would have to defund PBS and CPB as well to have any hope of torpedoing her plans to build a nationwide news delivery system in the style of the BBC, but on steroids. Schiller imagines a national public print, television and radio news leviathan that would compete with the top five news companies in the news industry.

As with the "government option" in healthcare, competing with the private sector while strangling it with regulations and leaching it dry with taxes is only a step toward the ultimate objective of all liberal initiatives: Stalin-style totalitarian collectivism.

This fits in smoothly not only with the liberal ideology so rigidly espoused on NPR, but with its business model. Air America proved that left-wing bilge cannot compete in the free market, because most Americans are too healthy to have a use for it when they have alternatives. Therefore, it must be funded coercively.

To anyone who doesn't want to get with the program, let Juan Williams be an example of where even the slightest deviation from leftist orthodoxy gets you.

Can you imagine NPR on every channel? Vivian Schiller can.

Public Homosexual Acts Protected in Britain

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:15 AM

Among the many charming aspects of homosexual subculture is the practice of "dogging" — i.e., indulging in perverted sex acts with total strangers in public so as to disgust and horrify anyone who isn't profoundly sick. Like most things pernicious, this revolting activity is now officially protected by our liberal elite rulers. Once again England leads the way toward a glorious liberal utopia:

A new Hate Crime Guidance Manual has been handed to officers warning them that they must not ignore doggers being abused or verbally taunted in any way — as it can cause them to suffer from post traumatic stress. …
It states that doggers can be 'reluctant to report victimisation in outdoor sex environments' and says this is 'due to a misconception that the police will primarily be interested in why they were there, as opposed to tackling hate or prejudice motivated crime.
It goes on to say that hate crime can have a 'lasting impact on individual victims', adding that 'crime targeted at an individual's core identity also has the potential to undermine entire communities and damage community confidence in the police'.

"Verbal abuse" of homosexuals performing acts of depravity in public parks while children and grandmothers gasp in astonishment clearly will not be tolerated in morbidly tolerant Britain. As for the acts themselves, which are still technically illegal:

In 2008, the then deputy chief constable of Lancashire Police Michael Cunningham — now the chief constable of Staffordshire Police — issued guidance cautioning officers against 'knee-jerk' reactions when dealing with doggers and saying they should only be prosecuted as a 'last resort'.

A "last resort" would probably be if they won't stop spreading AIDS even long enough for the officer to move along.

The most recent changes were made to the 'Managing Public Sex Environments' policy last month, and top brass say the policy has been 'completely re-written' following consultation with relevant groups and 'new Association of Chief Police Officer guidance'.

That is, homosexual activists dictated the new policy.

At this rate, it won't be long until Britons welcome sharia as the lesser evil.

State-imposed culture.

SEIU Controls Voting Machines in Fraud-Plagued Clark County, Nevada

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:15 AM

The Democrat vote fraud already taking place in Nevada makes perfect sense in light of this revelation. From yesterday's NetRight Daily:

Did you know that the SEIU represents the voting machine technicians in Clark County (Las Vegas), Nevada? Is it any surprise, as we noted earlier today, that there was a voting glitch in Clark County, Nevada? The glitch caused Harry Reid's name to be automatically checked on the ballot before voters had indicated who were they were supporting. …
It is particularly troubling that Clark County has put the uber left-wing SEIU Local 1107 in charge of their voting machines.

From the county's collective bargaining agreement with the odious SEIU:

The County hereby recognizes the Union as the sole and exclusive collective bargaining representative of the County employees assigned to the classifications listed in Appendix A…

Among the positions listed in Appendix A is Voting Machine Technician, explaining why Harry Reid's name comes prechecked before the voter does anything.

This is exactly the sort of ham-fisted cheating that characterizes left-wing unions — not to mention community organizers. The SEIU has been joined at the hip with Comrade Obama's alma mater ACORN. As head of the SEIU, Andy Stern was the #1 visitor to the Obama White House. Here's Harry Reid's most powerful ally proclaiming fealty to this cancerous union:

NYC Whittles Away at Second Amendment

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:34 AM

Rather than try to repeal the crucial Second Amendment outright, statist tyrants have been using an incremental approach. Under totalitarian moonbat Mayor for Life Michael Bloomberg, New York City has been at the forefront of this effort:

New York City residents who want to own a gun may soon be denied permits if they are litterbugs, if they are bad drivers, or if they have fallen behind on a few bills.
Under proposed revisions to the police department's handgun, rifle and shotgun permit procedures, the NYPD can reject gun license applicants for a number of reasons, including:
If they have been arrested or convicted of almost any "violation," in any state; having a "poor driving history"; having been fired for "circumstances that demonstrate lack of good judgment"; having "failed to pay legally required debts"; being deemed to lack "good moral character"; or if any other information demonstrates "other good cause for the denial of the permit."

These absurd procedures are explicitly designed to circumvent the constitutional rights of citizens.

According to a Report of the Governmental Affairs Division, the changes came about as the result of two recent Supreme Court decisions.
"In District of Columbia v. Heller the Court found that a District of Columbia law banning the possession of handguns in the home was invalid due to the rights conferred by the Second Amendment; in McDonald v. City of Chicago, Ill., the Court applied that right equally to the States," the report says.

Under these revisions, bureaucrats can deny the right to bear arms to people cited for failing to sweep the sidewalk, who have received traffic tickets, or who have filed for bankruptcy.

When the Second Amendment has been whittled down to nothing, the others will quickly follow.

Beauty Parlor Looted by 101-Year-Old Woman

Posted by Dave Blount at 3:02 PM

It isn't easy doing business in a world run by moonbats. Here's yet another example of why:

The owner of an Upper West Side [NYC] beauty parlor has agreed to pay $7,500 to a 101-year-old patron who complained to the city's Human Rights Commission that she was turned away for arriving in a wheelchair.

Ironically, the salon didn't want to deal with Nettie Lobsenz, who was 99 at the time, because of "liability issues." Damned if you don't, damned if you do.

The parlor owners last week signed a conciliation agreement to pay the $7,500 — while denying any discrimination. They also said they would put a sign in their window welcoming people with disabilities.

Katie Couric Goes Amid the Great Unwashed

To think I always saw Katie Cupcake as a typically insolated left-wing ruling class snob. It turns out, she enjoys descending from her Manhattan castle to nurture an intimate rapport with the slobs in the Heartland — which according to her consists of places like Boston.

Rick Kaplan, her executive producer, says that "when she's on the road — in Iraq with David Petraeus — she has a great way with people. People like her and she likes them. There are anchors who consider being on the road a pain in the butt. She really looks for opportunities to feel the earth and touch people."
That's why Couric has spent recent weeks in Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston and New Brunswick, New Jersey. She is touring what she calls "this great unwashed middle of the country" in an effort to divine the mood of the midterms.

On behalf of the great unwashed, I would like to express humble gratitude to Miss Couric for deigning to live in the same country as Americans.

Katie's adventures among the peasantry have given her profound insight into our minds.

What she has learned on her latest excursions is that "American voters are slightly schizophrenic — they want compromise, and yet some of them are ideologically so fixated to one point of view."

Miss Cupcake has discovered that the "great unwashed" are "schizophrenic." Yet she hasn't yet figured out why nobody watches CBS News anymore.

Other than the over 1 million abortions that are committed in the USA every year, the violence they keep raving about exists almost exclusively in the imagination of moonbats. Democrat Fraud Already Evident in Early Voting

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:03 AM

Election day is a week away, but the Democrat shenanigans are already well underway. What else would you expect from a desperate Dingy Harry if not this:

Some voters in Boulder City [Nevada] complained on Monday that their ballot had been cast before they went to the polls, raising questions about Clark County's electronic voting machines.
Voter Joyce Ferrara said when they went to vote for Republican Sharron Angle, her Democratic opponent, Sen. Harry Reid's name was already checked.
Ferrara said she wasn't alone in her voting experience. She said her husband and several others voting at the same time all had the same thing happen.
"Something's not right," Ferrara said. "One person that's a fluke. Two, that's strange. But several within a five minute period of time — that's wrong."

How's this for wrong:

A Craven County [North Carolina] voter says he had a near miss at the polls on Thursday when an electronic voting machine completed his straight-party ticket for the opposite of what he intended.
Sam Laughinghouse of New Bern said he pushed the button to vote Republican in all races, but the voting machine screen displayed a ballot with all Democrats checked. He cleared the screen and tried again with the same result, he said. Then he asked for and received help from election staff.
"They pushed it twice and the same thing happened," Laughinghouse said. "That was four times in a row. The fifth time they pushed it and the Republicans came up and I voted."

It's not enough to beat Democrats. You have to beat them by the margin of fraud, which gets increasingly wide the more brazen the party becomes in its corruption. Democrats are the party of taking by force and trickery what others have earned. That applies not only to money but to votes.

Harry Reid's October Surprise

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:16 AM

A desperate Harry Reid, facing defeat at the hands of countermoonbat Sharron Angle, has probably been hoping for an October surprise — but not this one:

An aide to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid repeatedly lied to federal immigration and FBI agents and submitted false federal documents to the Department of Homeland Security to cover up her illegal seven-year marriage to a Lebanese national who was the subject of an Oklahoma City Joint Terror Task Force investigation, has learned.
Diana Tejada, Reid's Hispanic Press Secretary, admitted to receiving payment for "some of her expenses" in exchange for fraudulently marrying Bassam Mahmoud Tarhini in 2003, strictly so he could obtain permanent U.S. residency, according to court documents.
Tarhini, now 37, was held in jail and at an immigration detention center in connection with his 2009 indictment on felony charges, documents show. He pleaded guilty to entering a fraudulent marriage to evade immigration laws — a Class D felony — in November 2009, and he was deported in March 2010. …
In court documents, Tejada, who was also the Press Secretary of Hispanic Media for the Senate Majority Conference Committee, is referred to as "an uncharged coconspirator in the crime of perjury, filing false immigration documents, the crime of sham marriage."

Why she was never charged remains a mystery, especially since she confessed to everything.

Tarhini reportedly wanted to pull off the phony marriage scheme so as to avoid compulsory service in the Lebanese National Army. Soon after the fake marriage, Tejada moved to Washington to work for the openly racist radical left group National Council of La Raza (the Race), which specializes in securing special privileges from Big Government at the expense of the gringo. This put her on track for a job with Dingy Harry.

As recently as five weeks ago, on Sept. 21, 2010, Tejada appeared as a guest on a Spanish-language radio program in her official capacity as a spokeswoman for Harry Reid.

Let's see if we've got everything: fraud, check; contempt for the sanctity of marriage, check; potential facilitation of terrorism, check; facilitation of illegal immigration, check; thwarted justice, check; avoidance of military service, check; radical left politics, check; anti-Caucasian racism, check. Sounds like Tejada has a bright future as a Democrat.

Let's hope the same can't be said of Harry Reid.

The fraud never stops.

Safe Sex, Spanish Style

The liberals running what's left of Spain are finally cracking down on prostitution — by forcing streetwalkers to dress like road crews:

Seems that the glow provided by a red bulb doesn't always provide enough light to draw attention to sex workers in a Spanish town…
Having been fined by the local council for reportedly being a danger to moving traffic, prostitutes in Els Alamus have taken to wearing high visibility vests.

When prostitutes get themselves killed by throwing themselves at the mercy of society's dregs, the bright vests will also make it easier for the police to find their bodies. Clearly banning prostitution is a relic of the olden days, before we had high visibility vest technology.

A Third-Party Vote Is a Vote for Democrats

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:01 AM

Prominent on the long list of dirty tricks Democrats have been resorting to in an attempt to avoid taking their medicine on November 2 is backing third party spoilers:

Seeking any advantage in their effort to retain control of Congress, Democrats are working behind the scenes in a number of tight races to bolster long-shot third-party candidates who have platforms at odds with the Democratic agenda but hold the promise of siphoning Republican votes.

Like so many Democrat initiatives, this may blow up in the moonbats' faces:

The efforts are taking place across the country with varying degrees of stealth. And in many cases, they seem to hold as much risk as potential reward for Democrats, prompting accusations of hypocrisy and dirty tricks from Republicans and the third-party movements that are on the receiving end of the unlikely, and sometimes unwelcome, support.

An example of this underhanded strategy:

In California, Republicans have received recorded phone calls from a professed but unidentified "registered Republican" who says she is voting for the American Independent Party's candidate for a House seat, Bill Lussenheide, not for the incumbent Republican, Mary Bono Mack.
The caller says she is voting that way because "it's time we show Washington what a true conservative looks like."
The recording was openly paid for by the Democratic candidate for the seat, Mayor Steve Pougnet of Palm Springs.

No one who wants to support a "true conservative" should vote for a Democrat. Yet that is exactly what Lussenheide voters would be doing, or the Party of Carter wouldn't spend money on this.

The Tea Party is being exploited by the very conniving statists it exists to oppose:

Nevada is one of several states, including Florida, where "Tea Party" political committees have appeared on ballot lines without the knowledge or support of leading Tea Party activists, who have generally chosen not to support third-party candidacies. In most of those cases, local bloggers, reporters and lawyers have traced connections to local Democrats, drawing lawsuits, complaints and, in a couple of cases, admissions of involvement.

The primaries were the time to make your statement regarding which candidates should be on the ballot. Even if you don't like the way the primaries turned out in a particular race, the fact remains that the GOP is the only party in a position to put up resistance to oligarchical collectivism. Any other vote is a vote for tyranny.

A vote for anyone but Republicans is a vote against the party we've been waiting for.

Public Pensions Spell Certain Doom for California

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:04 AM

Moonbats love the word "sustainable." However, the mess they've made of California is anything but:

California, which has the largest U.S. public-pension fund, faces liabilities that may exceed its annual state-tax revenue fivefold within two years unless lawmakers rein in benefits, according to a study.
To keep their promises to retirees, the California Public Employees Retirement System, the biggest plan, the California State Teachers Retirement System, the second-largest, and the University of California Retirement System may have combined liabilities of more than 5.5 times the state's annual tax revenue by fiscal 2012, according to the study released today by the Milken Institute. Levies are forecast to reach about $89 billion in the year that began July 1.
Debts to government retirees including those in California, the biggest state by population, have grown into a national crisis as pension plans strive to meet obligations to more than 19 million active and retired firefighters, police officers, teachers and other state workers. Fewer than half the plans had assets to cover 80 percent of promised benefits in fiscal 2009, according to data compiled for last month's Cities and Debt Briefing hosted by Bloomberg Link.
"California simply lacks the fiscal capacity to guarantee public-pension payments, particularly given the wave of state employees set to retire" in future years, said researchers Perry Wong and I-Ling Shen in the Milken report.

The country as a whole doesn't have the fiscal capacity either. That's why when the federal government inevitably tries to bail out California with our money, the result will be that the whole country is pulled down after it into economic ruin.

We had better elect politicians willing to fight government employee unions as if the country's existence depends on it — because it does.

Over the edge and down we go.

Mullah Obama Imports More Muslims

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:05 AM

Apparently illegal aliens aren't pouring over the deliberately undefended border quickly enough, because Comrade Obama is importing more Democrat votes from abroad. Some of his most loyal supporters are from Muslim countries, so this should come as no surprise:

President Barack Hussein Obama, in a determination letter to Congress, has announced that he will allow an additional 80,000 immigrants — mostly from Islamic countries — to resettle in the United States during fiscal year 2011.
Mr. Obama says that the increase in Muslim immigrants "is justified by humanitarian concerns or is otherwise in the national interest."

This certainly won't serve the "national interest" by alleviating the stratospheric unemployment rate, but it will help Democrats' chances at the polls, especially considering that with the Obama Administration's boot on the neck of the economy, most of these new imports will probably end up living off welfare.

Importing Muslims isn't a new idea for the Manchurian Moonbat. One of his first acts after taking control was to spend $20.3 million of our money to import Palestinians, who in turn can be counted on to import terrorism. Christian Punished for Seeking Christian Roommate

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:22 AM

Freedom of association is prominent among the fundamental liberties that will have to go to make room for ever more authoritarian political correctness, as a Michigan woman found out when she posted an ad for a Christian roommate on her church bulletin board. She was slapped with a "civil rights" complaint:

The ad "expresses an illegal preference for a Christian roommate, thus excluding people of other faiths," according to the complaint filed by the Fair Housing Center of West Michigan.

The phrase "illegal preference for a Christian roommate" is worth reading again. Under totalitarian liberalism, Christians are no longer permitted to prefer each other's company.

"It's a violation to make, print or publish a discriminatory statement," Executive Director Nancy Haynes told Fox News. "There are no exemptions to that."

Except of course if the discrimination is in favor of group promoted by our rulers. Imagine bureaucrats filing charges against a homosexual for seeking a likeminded roommate.

Haynes said the unnamed 31-year-old woman's case was turned over to the Michigan Department of Civil Rights. Depending on the outcome of the case, she said, the woman could face several hundreds of dollars in fines and "fair housing training so it doesn't happen again."

That is, she will not only be punished, but humiliated and brainwashed. Let that be lesson to other Christians.

Only in a world turned upside down by moonbattery would a "civil rights" department devote itself to depriving groups targeted for oppression of their most basic civil rights.

Ideally NPR would be buried at a toxic waste dump. But I'll settle for it not receiving one more dime of money looted from taxpayers.

Death by Ecomoonbattery

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:54 AM

Wallowing in eco-idiocy comes at a price. Part of that price is that eco-friendly vehicles are death traps:

A leading British academic has been killed after her tiny electric car was involved in a crash.
Dr Judit Nadal, 47, died after her blue G-Wiz collided with a Skoda Octavia.
Known as Dr Nagy in the academic world, rather than by her married name, Dr Nadal was head of a research facility at Imperial College, south-west London, where she led groundbreaking work into finding solutions to a vast range of illnesses.

It's not as if driving one of these absurd but politically correct contraptions weren't a known risk.

The safety of the 'eco-friendly' G-Wiz has been questioned previously.
In 2007, a crash test for Top Gear Magazine found a collision at 40mph would leave the occupants with 'life-threatening injuries'.
Experts at the Transport Research Laboratory were so concerned about the Indian-made G-Wiz that they refused to risk their more sophisticated £130,000 crash test dummies — full of electronic instruments — in the test for fear of them being wrecked.
Instead, they used a cheaper, more basic variety.

But nothing is cheaper than human life, where progressives are concerned. This is why they continue to crank up CAFE standards, in the full knowledge that every time manufacturers are forced to make vehicles lighter to comply with sanctimonious fuel efficiency regulations, people die as a result.

On the bright side, there is one less human on the planet to oppress the polar bears with her carbon emissions.

Drive an eco-friendly moonbatmobile. The polar bears will thank you.

ChiCom Bureaucrats Make People Freeze

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:54 PM

Won't it be nice when socialist bureaucrats manage to centralize control of our thermostats? Home heating will be run as efficiently as in the statist utopia of communist China:

Since the Communists came to power, November 15 has been circled in red on many Beijing calendars. It's not Mao Zedong's birthday. November 15 is the day when city officials dutifully flick the switch to turn on the capital's centrally-controlled heating system, supplying warmth to most of Beijing's 22 million residents. …Beijing's coal plants pump heat to city apartments on a strict schedule, from November 15 to March 15, every year. Since the 1950s, the schedule has rarely changed, even if temperatures plummet before the appointed day.

Despite the global warming that allegedly imperils the earth, this is happening once again:

Beijingers are now suffering through the early onset of bitter cold. China's state-run media reported October 18 as the city's coldest autumn day since 1986, with temperatures peaking at 48 degrees and then dropping to 44.

Like everything imposed by leftist governments, people pointlessly freezing because bureauthugs won't turn the heat on has a beneficial effect, according to our media:

Beijing's power plants burn through 41,000 tons of coal every day to keep the city's residents warm in winter. That energy is saved each day the government keeps the radiators turned off.

Since the moonbats running our own government believe that energy needs should be met by saving energy rather than by generating it, look for the thermostats to stay off all year round after they seize control of them.

Solar Power Threatens German Power Grid

Posted by Dave Blount at 12:47 PM

The best thing about Europe is that being so thoroughly under the heel of a moonbat ruling class, it tries out truly stupid ideas first, so that we can learn from its mistakes without making these mistakes ourselves. Take attempting to rely on solar power, for example:

The German electricity grid faces instability because of too much solar power, an expert said.
Thanks to a generous feed-in tariff, the installation of rooftop solar panels and large-scale photovoltaic plants has exploded in Germany.
Stephan Kohler, chairman of the DENA agency, an energy adviser to the government, has warned that the green boom could turn into a disaster for Germany's aging power grid.
"The network is facing a congestion due to solar power," Kohler told the Berliner Zeitung newspaper. "That's why the expansion of solar power has to be cut back quickly and drastically."

The problem is that inefficient but politically correct energy sources like solar and wind are unreliable, and result in wildly fluctuating energy flow.

Not to worry, German bureaucrats are on top of it:

Well aware that the industry is maturing more quickly than anticipated, Berlin this year agreed to reduce subsidies for rooftop panels by 16 percent.

Good thing Big Government is fixing everything with its characteristic insignificant gestures, because Kohler says that the 50 GW of solar power capacity expected by 2013 if current trends continue would be "a catastrophe for the grids." Instead of slightly reducing the subsidy, he wants a cap on new solar panels.

Who is it that pays people to use inefficient power sources that could bring down the power grid? The always generous taxpayers, off course.

The German government through the Renewable Energy Law, or EEG, regulates the feed-in-tariff aimed at boosting power production from renewable energy sources. Paid by German taxpayers via their electricity bill and guaranteed for 20 years, the levies vary from 21 cents per kilowatt-hour for offshore wind turbines to 46 cents per kw/h for roof-mounted solar panels.
Berlin has vowed to gradually reduce subsidies but EEG-related costs will nevertheless rise significantly over the coming years, experts have warned.

Unfortunately, our rulers show no inclination whatsoever to learn from Europe's mistakes.

The good news is that when we finally outgrow the environmentalism fad, the reduced drag on the world economy could boost us out of recession for years to come.

Solar panels: yet another green energy boondoggle kept alive only by subsidies.

A Desperate Raul Grijalva Panics

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:06 AM

Countermoonbat challenger Ruth McClung has ultra-left congresscritter Raul Grijalva, a traitor to both his state and his country, running scared enough to panic — unless he actually thinks anyone is buying this, from yesterday's Arizona Daily Scar:

U.S. Rep. Raúl Grijalva's congressional office is closed this afternoon as police respond to a suspicious piece of mail.
An envelope arrived with swastikas drawn on the outside and a white powdery substance on the inside, said Adam Sarvana, Grijalva's spokesman.

Gosh, that's almost as awful as hanging a noose on a black victimology professor's door when she's about to be brought up on plagiarism charges.

Who would do such a thing? Pima County Democratic Party Chairman Jeff Rogers wastes no time telling us:

Rogers blames this action on the kind of rhetoric coming out of the tea party and right-wing Republicans.
"It's disappointing and I think it's directly related to the level of rhetoric," Rogers said. "That kind of level of rhetoric is what leads people to do crazy things. They have a responsibility to [quack quack quack lie smear lie]."

Somewhere amid Keith Olbermann's dwindling audience there may be a dimwit confused enough to take this load seriously. Only the most clueless moonbat would associate swastikas with the Tea Party.

Back in the world of grownups, Publius Pundit provides a little background:

Just hours after the Yuma Sun reports that 3000 voter registrations had been dumped at the Yuma County Recorder's Office by a group affiliated with the SEIU (with most of them subsequently found to be fraudulent), Raul Grijalva's office received a suspicious package covered in swastikas with a white powder inside.
Now the story about the suspicious package — the "terrorist attack" as Grijalva puts it — has gone national, and the voter fraud story has gone unnoticed by the mainstream media. How convenient, right?
Raul Grijalva part-time staffer Emily Romero has repeatedly bragged to Democratic insiders that the campaign concocts these threats to take attention away from bad publicity. In this case, the campaign decided to fake a "terrorist attack" on themselves to cover up the story of voter fraud that had just broken.
What is most interesting is that the DCCC [Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee] reported the suspicious package to the media long before the local authorities were even told about the situation. Plus, one has to ask, how does an envelope marked with swastikas and full of white powder make it successfully through the postal system these days?

But we shouldn't jump to the obvious conclusion that the race-baiting Grijalva campaign put together the package themselves until we learn what the powder is. It could be soap, which any number of people would like the conspicuously poorly groomed Grijalva to discover.

If it turns out to be detergent, let's hope Grijalva takes the hint.

Smell of Bacon Forbidden in Britainistan

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:49 AM

If you thought British bureauweenies could not possibly take liberal dhimmitude to a still more absurd degree of contemptible obsequiousness, check this out:

A hard-working cafe owner has been ordered to tear down an extractor fan — because the smell of her frying bacon 'offends' Muslims.

Councillors at Stockport Council in Greater Manchester cracked down on Beverley Akciecek after a neighborhood moonbat by the name of Graham Webb-Lee complained that his Muslim friends wouldn't visit him because of the smell of bacon emitted by the fan. Bacon, like so many of the better things in life, is forbidden by Islam.

The fan has been whirling away at Beverley's Snack Shack for years, but apparently only recently became an affront to Allah. Beverley's husband is a Turkish Muslim who helps prepare the bacon, which is precooked so that the hardly unappealing smell is minimal anyway. Explains the owner:

"It's pre-cooked so the smell isn't as strong when we're frying it off. It's like living next to someone who's cooking a Sunday breakfast but it's not constant it's just in the morning."

However, living in a soft tyranny means you are at the mercy of any unreasonable twit who wants to call in the authorities and give you trouble over nothing. Imagine trying to run a business under these circumstances.

George Soros Buys a Scalp

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:40 AM

What a coincidence: just before Juan Williams was axed by NPR for appearing on Fox News, George Soros, the sinister Nazi collaborator who recently poured another $1 million into the anti-Fox smear machine Media Matters, also gave NPR $1.8 million through his nefarious Open Society Foundations. Apparently that was more than enough to buy Williams's head on a platter.

If you thought NPR was insufferably moonbatty before, wait until the ultra-radical Soros's money trickles through. It's earmarked to buy 100 new reporters to engage in "enterprise journalism" — i.e., agenda journalism — meaning that there will be an even heavier emphasis on propagandizing rather than reporting news.

At least now that George Soros is bankrolling NPR we the overburdened taxpayers won't have to, right? Wrong — although to his immense credit, countermoonbat Senator Jim DeMint is trying to change that.

Mara Liasson, another NPR lib who moonlights at Fox News, would be well advised to polish her resume.

Williams wasn't just fired, but thrown out with the trash. NPR's repugnant CEO Vivian Schiller even accused him of having psychiatric problems because like most Americans since 9/11 he finds Muslims making a show of their religion on airplanes unnerving. The treatment he was subjected to came after 10 years of loyal service. If the sort of people running NPR treat one of their own like this over minor ideological transgressions, imagine what they will do to you if they manage to consolidate control over the government.

Afflicted by Climate Change, Japanese Bears Attack

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:20 AM

Even with all but the most gullible catching on that global warming is a hoax, we still have new additions to the Warmlist. In Japan, the nonexistent crisis is causing bear attacks:

Bear attacks have shot up in Japan this year and sightings of the animals have spiked, a trend blamed on climatic changes and shifting land use patterns, officials and media reports said on Wednesday.
At least four people were killed and 80 wounded in bear attacks between April and September in the island-nation, much of which is covered in mountain forests, topping last year's total of 64 attacks, said broadcaster NHK.

It's a good thing climate never varied until recently, or we would all have been eaten by bears long ago.

Any further climate fluctuation could cause bears to mutate horrifically.

Big Government Encroaches Still Further on the Family

Public schools in the District of Criminals join those of 13 states in now serving dinner, to the delight of the media:

On the menu are things like salmon salad, a whole grain roll, orange juice, one percent milk and a corn and pepper relish.
"With positive feedback, the kids will enjoy the food," Chef Edward Kwitowski said.
He is in charge of whipping up healthy dinners for D.C. school kids as part of this new program to provide three healthy meals a day at school.

All they need to do is set up some cots in the gym and parents can be dispensed with entirely — except of course when April 15 rolls around.

The kids are as enthused as Elian Gonzalez at a gala Communist Youth Union festivity:

"It's good and it's healthy," fourth grader Emanuel Gross said. "So I can stay on task."

We're expected to believe that fourth graders really talk like that.

The point of course is to keep children in a state-controlled environment for as many hours as possible. We wouldn't want parents misinterpreting the proper lessons to be derived from homework.

And another big benefit of the after school dinners are [sic] that more kids are enrolling in after school programs where they can get some academic help as well.
So the dinners are really serving three purposes — fighting hunger, obesity and offering help with classwork too.

Only free, presumably horrid-tasting government food can fight hunger and obesity at the same time, while simultaneously nudging parents out of the picture and perfectly symbolizing socialism.

And the best news of all is this is a federally-funded program.

That means no one has to pay for it. Comrade Obama and friends can just toss the bill on top of the national debt.

House Taken Over

Posted by Dave Blount at 12:29 PM

Britons thinking of going away for vacation might want to reconsider. With liberal ideology having rotted society to the point that it no longer functions, who will defend your house while you're gone?

In the middle of completely refurbishing his five-bedroom house, Connan Gupta felt he deserved a week off.
It is a decision he is now regretting because 15 squatters took advantage of his short absence to occupy the £700,000 property.
The jobless Italians changed the locks and have taken up residence along with their three dogs and two cats.
They claim the fact they cannot afford to rent gives them the right to take over the Victorian property in Camberwell, South-East London.
Police are powerless to intervene because squatting is a civil rather than criminal offence.

Apparently trespassing and burglary are no longer considered offenses at all in the decomposing remnants of Once-Great Britain.

Gasps Gupta:

"It's as if the squatters have more rights than I do."

But of course they do. Property — the concept that makes civilization possible — is theft, according to progressives.

They have turned the front room into a sixth bedroom and are using Mr Gupta's wardrobes to store their clothes. They are also making use of his three leather sofas, sauna, hundreds of DVDs and television.

Under pure anarchy, Gupta could at least attempt to liberate his home by force. But liberalism is a hybrid of the worst aspects of anarchy and communism. The only good thing to be said about it is that nothing so obviously insane can last very long.

Mountains of Our Money to Be Poured Down Fannie and Freddie

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:32 AM

Our liberal rulers, who brought about the 2008 financial crisis with Affirmative Action "affordable housing" policies that forced banks to make bad loans under the insane Community Reinvestment Act, and by blocking Republican attempts to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, have done nothing whatsoever to prevent the disaster from recurring on a still larger scale — as it soon will:

The federal bailout for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac could nearly double in size during the next three years, according to projections from the companies' federal regulator.
Fannie and Freddie, the federally controlled mortgage finance giants, will need as much as $215 billion more from taxpayers in the next three years to meet their financial obligations, the Federal Housing Finance Agency said Thursday…
The growing taxpayer infusions will cover losses Fannie and Freddie suffer on home loans, as well as payments the companies must make to the U.S. Treasury in exchange for a federal guarantee to provide cash to keep the companies solvent. …
To date, the Treasury has injected $148 billion into Fannie and Freddie, $13 billion of which has been returned to the government. Under the worst case, in which the country enters a second recession, the total infusion would be $363 billion in three years.

As a red diaper baby who has spent his entire life steeping in radical left ideology, Obama could not help but be aware of the Cloward-Piven strategy, which calls for collapsing the economy with excessive government spending, thereby paving the way for the imposition of totalitarian collectivism. This explains why the Redistributor in Chief has pledged unlimited taxpayer-funded support for the black holes of corruption, communism, and incompetence known as Fannie and Freddie.

Hezbollah Finances Campaign Against Sharron Angle

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:25 AM

To say that Democrats are in a de facto alliance with Islamic terrorists is hardly hyperbole, as demonstrated by Hezbollah's campaign to keep Harry "This War Is Lost" Reid in office by funding attacks on Sharron Angle. Via Debbie Schlussel:

Muslim activist Tarek Beydoun of Dearbornistan paid for 250,000 robo-calls to Nevada voters against Sharron Angle, the Republican U.S. Senate candidate who will-G-d-willing-beat Harry Reid in November. Beydoun, a recent college grad, in his 20s claims he's upset with Angle's comments about Islamic sharia ruling Dearborn. … The scoop is that Beydoun worked for a Hezbollah-funded newspaper and a Hezbollah charity raided by the FBI and that it's highly unlikely that Beydoun, himself, has the means to personally fund 250,000 robo-calls against Angle.
So who is paying for it? My sources say that it may be Hezbollah cash, funneled to Mr. Beydoun, who identifies himself as a "Democratic consultant." He's actually a Hezbollah activist and very open about that. And until Beydoun — a proud supporter of Hezbollah, whose Shi'ite Muslim South Lebanese family is prominent in the terrorist organization — shows us an accounting of where the money came from, it's pretty safe to assume that the money came from sources connected with Hezbollah. … Beydoun, himself, worked for Al-Mabarat Charitable Organization in Dearbornistan, for which he raised money and served as spokesman to the press at the time FBI agents raided it in 2007 for financing Hezbollah.

None of this should come as surprise, considering that in 2008 Hamas not only endorsed Obama, but operated phone banks on his behalf — for which it was well compensated with our money.

To paraphrase W: You're either with Sharron Angle, or you're with the terrorists.

Unlike Obama et al., Angle isn't backed by terrorists who want to kill you.

Volt Fraud: Government Motors Rolls Out an Overhyped, Overpriced Lemon

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:31 AM

Would you buy a car from the community organizer on the left?

obama volt

If so, you're a slow learner. The ballyhooed Government Motors Volt is a bigger flop than the Edsel.

The Volt has been hyped as an all-electric car that gets 230 miles per gallon, leaving us to wonder why it needs any gas at all if it's all-electric. Actually, it's a hybrid that gets as little as 26 miles per gallon. IBD comments:

This is what happens when government picks winners and losers in the marketplace and tries to run a business. We are not told that we will be dependent on foreign sources like Bolivia for the lithium to be used in these batteries. Nor are we told about the possible dangers to rescuers and occupants in an accident scenario.

Bolivia, like China, is a potentially hostile socialist country that we don't want to count on for rare materials.

And since electricity rates are necessarily going to skyrocket [as Obama promised] as a result of this administration's energy policies and fondness for cap-and-trade, what's the true cost of operating a not-so-all-electric car like the Volt?
In 2008, candidate Obama pledged to put 1 million plug-in vehicles on the road by 2015. Not likely. It was a tough sell when we thought it was all-electric and could get 230 mpg. It will be a tougher sell now that we find it's a glorified Prius with the price tag of a BMW that seats only four because of a battery that runs down the center of the car.
President Obama likes to talk about not giving the GOP back the keys to the car. It's his industrial policy and central planning that have driven us into the ditch.

Maybe commie carmakers should have stuck with the East German Trabant. At least it didn't cost $41,000, with an outrageous $7,500 per car taxpayer-financed subsidy.

Juan Williams Fired by NPR for Acknowledging Terror Threat on Fox

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:54 AM

Juan Williams is generally a reliable moonbat dupe, but he made a fatal flaw while appearing on Fox News to represent the liberal point of view: he dropped the political BS for a moment and expressed sentiments felt by any American who isn't crazy or stupid. For this thought crime, he has been promptly fired by the rigid leftists who employed him at NPR. As the libs at the NY Times tell it:

The move came after Mr. Williams, who is also a Fox News political analyst, appeared on the "The O'Reilly Factor" on Monday. On the show, the host, Bill O'Reilly, asked him to respond to the notion that the United States was facing a "Muslim dilemma." Mr. O'Reilly said, "The cold truth is that in the world today jihad, aided and abetted by some Muslim nations, is the biggest threat on the planet."
Mr. Williams said he concurred with Mr. O'Reilly.
He continued: "I mean, look, Bill, I'm not a bigot. You know the kind of books I've written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous."

Anyone too clueless to find it unnerving when people make a pageant of their devotion to the God of Terrorism while onboard airplanes probably needs help getting dressed. But of course we're not allowed to say so.

Another thought crime:

Mr. Williams also made reference to the Pakistani immigrant who pleaded guilty this month to trying to plant a car bomb in Times Square. "He said the war with Muslims, America's war is just beginning, first drop of blood. I don't think there's any way to get away from these facts," Mr. Williams said.

Sure there's a way: fire anyone who dares to acknowledge them, even if he's a loyal liberal stooge like Williams.

NPR is sufficiently Islamofascistic not to deny why Williams was fired, officially braying that his harmless remarks "were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR."

Williams was already considered tainted in NPR Land for appearing on Fox News, but the firing of a senior correspondent over remarks that 99.9% of Americans would agree with, if only secretly, gives an idea of the ideological militancy imposed at this taxpayer-funded leftist propaganda outfit.

In contrast, no one at NPR felt the need to fire the obnoxious and ill-informed bigot who made this:

Welcome to socialism as applied to the information industry. To state the obvious, not a penny of public funds should go to rigidly intolerant ultra-left soapboxes like NPR and PBS.

Not even a Harvard grad could be enough of a fool to think this can be sustained. By the time this nightmare is over, the names of Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven — progressives credited with inventing the strategy of imposing communism by collapsing the economy with excessive government spending — will be household names.

Meanwhile, the Marxist saboteur in the White House blames his predecessor for the debt, and uses it to justify further crippling the economy by letting taxes shoot into the stratosphere on January 1.

Chris Coons Punished Public Employees for Political Views

Check out the 2007 article that American Glob found on Chris Coons, the self-described "bearded Marxist" the establishment media heavily favors against Christine O'Donnell in Delaware:

A third lawsuit alleges that New Castle County Executive Chris Coons retaliated against county employees because of their political views.

Three different people went to court in response to Coons crippling their careers out of political spite. He'll fit right into the Chicago style politics now prevailing in the District of Criminals — unless Delaware has the good sense to send Christine O'Donnell to the Senate instead.

Snooty PBS Propagandist Ridicules Sarah Palin for Getting History Right

As anyone who has seen PBS's Juan Williams on Fox News can attest, they have a different set of standards in public broadcasting, which doesn't have to please the public because it relies on coercive financing at the expense of people who would rather watch grass grow than their pretentious liberal programming. Whatever the qualifications are, other than being a kneejerk progressive, having a clue doesn't seem to be among them. Take Gwen Ifill, for example. When Sarah Palin advised Tea Party patriots not to "party like it's 1773" just yet — an obvious reference to the Boston Tea Party, which took place that year — less historically literate moonbats used Twitter to pounce, in the apparent belief that the entire era of the American Revolution took place in 1776. Nonunion Workers at Boeing Get Shafted by ObamaCare

Posted by Dave Blount at 3:22 PM

Like everything else Comrade Obama has been responsible for, ObamaCare is about two things: greasing the wheels for his friends and putting the screws to everyone else. First among the Manchurian Moonbat's friends are the corrupt unions that have destroyed education and the auto industry and are now setting their sights on the rest of the economy. To survive in the Soviet Union, it helped to by a party member. To survive Hopey Change, join a union:

Aerospace giant Boeing is joining the list of companies that say the new health care law could have a potential downside for their workers.
In a letter mailed to employees late last week, the company cited the overhaul as part of the reason it is asking some 90,000 nonunion workers to pay significantly more for their health plan next year.

Yet again, it's nonunion workers who take it in the neck.

Boeing said annual deductibles and copayments will increase for all its plans next year.
Deductibles, the share of medical costs that employees pay annually before their plan kicks in, will go up to $300 for individuals, an increase of $100. For families, the new deductible will be $900, an increase of $300.
In addition, Boeing is instituting a copayment of 10 percent after the deductible has been met. The copayment will rise to 20 percent in 2012.

The main idea is to avoid massive punitive taxes on quality health insurance plans.

The tax on so-called "Cadillac" health plans doesn't take effect until 2018, but employers are already beginning to assess their exposure because it is hefty: at 40 percent of the value above $10,200 for individual coverage and $27,500 for a family plan.

Even after cutting the value of their health plans, it's not clear that Boeing will avoid the crippling "Cadillac" tax.

In any case, it is unlikely that Boeing or anyone else other than the government will be offering health insurance 10 years from now, unless ObamaCare is repealed.

The Barefoot Professor

Posted by Dave Blount at 12:06 PM

Not all college professors are obsessed with promoting ecolunacy, hatred of America, white guilt, and oligarchical collectivism. Some devote themselves to causes that are more down to earth:

[Daniel] Howell, a biology professor at Liberty University, goes barefoot whenever he can. For the past two years, he's been on a crusade to challenge America's cultural addiction to shoes and to raise awareness of the benefits of barefoot.
"We live in a shoe-obsessed society," Howell said. "To our detriment."
He recently published "The Barefoot Book: 50 Great Reasons to Kick Off Your Shoes" and devoted the summer to a 21-state book tour, staying barefoot 24/7.

Howell goes running and shopping and attends church without his shoes on. They let him go barefoot at work while he was promoting his book, but now he has to oppress his feet with shoes while teaching.

Kudos to Howell for finding a flaky cause to promote that doesn't cause any worse harm to others than forcing them to inhale the smell of his presumably filthy feet.

John Conyers Calls for Department of Peace

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:54 AM

He may be ignorant, corrupt, and admittedly too dumb even to make sense of the legislation he passes, but at least Rep John Conyers (D-MI), Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, stands firm on behalf of liberal true believers when it comes to foreign policy. Prior to the One Nation moonbat fest, he spoke on the topic to the openly communist Democratic Socialists of America, afterward accepting a souvenir dunce cap from DSA National Director Frank Llewellyn.

He devoted much of his talk to the topic of peace — in Afghanistan or elsewhere. "Overriding it all is the quest for peace in the world," he said. "We are bent on accidental or intentional nuclear annihilation, and I'm firmly supporting Congressman (Dennis) Kucinich's measure that would make a Department of Peace in the United States Federal Government."
Conyers is one of 72 U.S. Representatives to co-sponsor the latest effort by Kucinich, an Ohio Democrat who ran against President Obama in the 2009 primary, to establish the cabinet-level peace department. After publicly butting heads with Obama last year over troop escalations, Conyers said there "probably isn't anybody above the [tenth] grade who doesn't know you cannot win a war in Afghanistan."
Up for re-election himself next month, Conyers argued it is up to progressives to get President Obama "straightened out and on the right track" before he runs for a second term.

Only in Conyers's New Mogadishu and Kucinich's Mistake by the Lake, two cities that have succumbed to terminal moonbattery, could anyone run to the left of the Moonbat Messiah, who has tried but failed to bring about a rapid surrender in Afghanistan that he could survive politically, as documented by Bob Woodward.

Conyers continued to drone to fellow commies:

"In 2012, there is a highly-organized effort to make sure he is a one-term president," he said. "It started before he was sworn in. It's grown. I only mention the Tea Party because they are small and dismissible. But there are much more serious and affluent sources behind this effort to interfere with a re-election campaign of Obama."

We'll see how "small and dismissible" the Tea Party is on November 2.

City Councilman Tony Madrigal is due in court Nov. 10 on charges of reckless driving after getting caught allegedly typing on his laptop, texting, impeding traffic, swerving and driving on the center divide.
The charges came to light after Madrigal failed to appear in court for an arraignment last month and a bench warrant was issued.
Madrigal, 37, was cited by a California Highway Patrol officer for the alleged offenses on Aug. 30 while driving his 2004 Toyota Prius north on Highway 1 near Mar Monte and Freedom Boulevard, according to the charges filed in Superior Court.
Madrigal, who is serving his second term on the council, entered a not guilty plea to all counts Thursday, according to the court file. …
Madrigal works as a union organizer for health care workers in King and Tulare counties.
A witness traveling behind Madrigal called 911 to report an erratic driver, CHP spokeswoman Sarah Jackson said.
"The officer observed him driving in a very, very unsafe manner," Jackson said. "He observed several moving violations. In this instance, what the officer saw was a wanton disregard for the safety of persons and property on the roadway."

Reckless, check. Drives a Prius moonbatmobile, check. Refuses to take responsibility for his behavior, check. Union organizer, check. Wanton disregard for our safety and our property, check. Comrade Obama Turns on Voters

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:50 AM

From the point of view of the condescending liberal elite, there could be only one explanation for our failure to embrace their extirpation of the middle class in pursuit of a Changed America consisting only of the rulers and the welfare-dependent ruled: we just aren't thinking clearly. The Manchurian Moonbat hawks another loogie and spits it in our face:

Americans are so "scared" they're not thinking straight about the upcoming elections, President Obama said over the weekend, as he sought to explain why voters are turning to Republican candidates. …
"People out there are still hurting very badly, and they are still scared. And so part of the reason that our politics seems so tough right now, and facts and science and argument does [sic] not seem to be winning the day all the time, is because we're hard-wired not to always think clearly when we're scared," Obama said at a Democratic fundraiser Saturday in Boston.

We're scared all right. Our country has never been in such serious peril.

When we politically incorrect little people get scared, we cling to our guns and Bibles — and our Constitution.

Our sneering moonbat ruling class had better be scared too. They've used their control of the media to push the pendulum as far to the left as it's going to go without serious resistance. Now comes the backlash.

"Climate change — to deny it exists, to just put your head in the sand and, 'oh no, it doesn't exist, what are you talking about,' is about like standing on the floor of Macy's during the month of December and claiming Santa Claus doesn't exist."

Unfortunately, "climate change," as moonbats have rebranded the fanciful global warming hoax, is only Santa Claus for crony capitalists like GE and well-positioned swindlers like Al Gore. Dems Take Twice as Much Foreign Money

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:58 AM

No wonder Dems are backing away from Obama's strategy of accusing Republicans of taking money from foreign companies — the Dems take twice as much:

Democratic leaders in the House and Senate criticizing GOP groups for allegedly funneling foreign money into campaign ads have seen their party raise more than $1 million from political action committees affiliated with foreign companies.
House and Senate Democrats have received approximately $1.02 million this cycle from such PACs, according to an analysis compiled for The Hill by the Center for Responsive Politics. House and Senate GOP leaders have taken almost $510,000 from PACs on the same list.

Against this backdrop,

American Crossroads, which is backed in part by former Bush White House officials Karl Rove and Ed Gillespie, has come under fire from the Obama administration and Democrats in Congress for allegedly using donations from abroad to fuel their political efforts.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Crossroads GPS, a group affiliated with American Crossroads, have come under similar attack.
Both the Chamber and American Crossroads deny accepting foreign dollars for use in their political efforts. The groups say they abide by all applicable laws, which would require that any foreign money they receive be accounted for separately and firewalled from their political spending.
Democrats have acknowledged they have no evidence the groups are taking money from abroad and using it to fund political attack ads ahead of the mid-term elections, but argue that in the absence of tougher campaign disclosure rules, it's entirely possible.

The hypocrisy will unhinge your jaw. But Rep Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, still likes the strategy of calling the kettle black:

"I think it is having resonance," Van Hollen said last week on MSNBC. "I think that people are understanding that there's this very important nexus between the special interests who are spending these millions of dollars and an agenda that doesn't serve the interests of the American people."

Speaking of not serving the interests of the American people, Obama's website raked in money from abroad prior to the catastrophic 2008 election. In the interests of "transparency," the Manchurian Moonbat's campaign contributions record has been scrubbed clean.

At least you can always tell what Democrats are up to. It's whatever they're accusing their opponents of doing.

Ecokooks Prevent Saving Valley Forge Forest

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:06 AM

In a country infested by moonbats, there isn't much you can do without facing a lawsuit. Here's what happened when plans were made to cull the massive herd of over 1,200 deer devouring the forest at Valley Forge:

[T]he Pennsylvania chapter of Friends of Animals has begun a campaign called the Coyote Coexistence Initiative, an outgrowth of a lawsuit the group filed last year to try to stop the deer shoots. That suit, still active, helped delay the first kill for a year.
One of the Friends' arguments is that park officials did not fully consider the role of natural predators — specifically coyotes — in maintaining a stable deer population. The initiative seeks to promote respect for coyotes as important players in the environment and to reduce what has been a dramatic increase in the number of coyotes killed in Pennsylvania.

Encouraging the growth of the coyote population will spare deer the inhumanity of a quick bullet; instead they will be torn apart and eaten — as will area pets and quite possibly children.

Like all liberal solutions, it is highly unlikely to work:

Lee Hall, vice president of legal affairs for the Friends … acknowledged it would take time for coyotes to affect the deer population, but asked, "What's the emergency this year?" The group plans to seek a court injunction to stop next month's shoot.
Park officials say, however, that time is slipping away. Because of the herd's appetite, the forest has not generated new growth since 1995, and "we simply cannot withstand another 20 years of that," said Kristina Heister, the park spokeswoman and natural-resource manager.

Typically, politically correct posturing and reflexive hostility to guns trump the obvious best interests of the forest. As for children and pets getting attacked by coyotes,

Matthew McLaughlin, director of the Pennsylvania chapter of Friends of Animals … does not underestimate that risk. Some states that treat coyotes gently also educate people about keeping a closer eye on pets and children. Part of the coexistence initiative involves exactly that.

Maybe if you put one of those coexist bumper stickers moonbats are so fond of on your mailbox, it will ward off coyotes looking for slower-moving prey than deer.

Soon to join the tic-ridden deer in suburban backyards.

Authorities Still Trying to Cover Up Fort Hood Terror Attack

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:10 AM

No Muslim atrocity is too outrageous for our dhimmi rulers to refrain from attempting to cover up.

A soldier who recorded the terror of last year's deadly shooting rampage in Fort Hood using his cell phone was ordered by an officer to delete both videos, a military court heard Friday.
Under cross examination, Pfc. Lance Aviles told an Article 32 hearing that his noncommissioned officer ordered him to destroy the two videos on Nov. 5, the same day that a gunman unleashed a volley of bullets inside a processing center at the Texas Army post.
The footage could have been vital evidence at the military hearing to decide if Maj. Nidal Hasan should stand trial in the shootings. The 40-year-old American-born Muslim has been charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder.

This could be what the Islamophile authorities wouldn't want us to see footage of, lest it remind someone who our enemy is:

Addressing the court via video link from Afghanistan, Spc. Megan Martin said she had been waiting to take medical tests when saw a man to her left stand up and shout "Allahu Akbar!" — "God is great!" in Arabic — then start firing a weapon.

Meanwhile the New York Times, official voice of our ruling class, is still trying to figure out what might have motivated the Muslim terrorist Nidal Hasan:

[T]he gunman and his motive remain an enigma.

Only the self-imposed stupidity of liberalism can explain having the smarts to construct English sentences, yet not being able to grasp Hasan's obvious and clearly stated motive.

It would be politically incorrect to acknowledge what happened at Fort Hood.

"Rich Whitey" on the Ballot in Black Chicago Precincts

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:26 AM

Not all the election shenanigans in Chicago can be blamed on corruption. Some are more likely due to pure incompetence:

An embarrassed Chicago Election Board will spend the money and time to re-program and re-test 4,200 electronic voting machines to correct a spelling error that changed the last name of Green Party gubernatorial candidate Rich Whitney to "Whitey."
If the mistake had been anything other than "Whitey" in a city with a history of racial politics, the costly correction might not have been necessary, officials said.
But, since the error was made on machines scheduled to be delivered to nearly two dozen Chicago wards, half of them predominantly African-American, there was no choice but to spend the tens of thousands of dollars needed to make the change.

A candidate listed as Rich Whitey is not likely to fair well in the sort of precincts that spawned the political career of the Moonbat Messiah.

Private Health Insurance Will Be Dead in 3 Years

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:01 AM

If you were wondering what the hell was the point of spending massive sums of money that we don't have to spare on "fixing" a healthcare system that wasn't broken by piling thick layers of inept bureaucracy on top of it, Tom Coburn has the answer:

"Private health insurance in the U.S. will be dead in three years, U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn said Tuesday.
"There will be no insurance industry left in three years," Coburn told the Republican Women's Club of Tulsa County.
"That is by design. You're going to make insurance unaffordable for everyone — which is what they want. Because if there's no private insurance left, what's left? Government-centered, government-run, single-payer health care."

Dems knew they would face the wrath of voters after shoving ObamaCare down our throats in such an obnoxious fashion and in clear opposition to the will of the people. The reason they were willing to fall on their swords is that the ramifications go beyond healthcare.

Coburn, facing re-election on Nov. 2, said it will be "the beginning of the end of America" if the reform bill's so-called individual mandate is not revoked or thrown out by the courts.
"This will be a major step in the elimination of the freedom of the American people," Coburn said.

Suppressing the Military Vote in Illinois

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:43 AM

Don't be too hard on New York. It isn't the only state run by Democrats that is suppressing the military vote this election:

The U.S. Justice Department is investigating whether the state of Illinois missed the deadline for mailing absentee ballots to members of the military and other overseas American voters as part of a new federal overseas voting law.
Cris Cray, Director of Legislation at the Illinois State Board of Elections, says not all of Illinois' 110 jurisdictions were compliant with the 2009 Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act (MOVE).
The law requires every state to mail their absentee ballots 45 days prior to Election Day to overseas troops, government employees and other Americans who want to vote from abroad.

Not to worry, the Injustice Department is on the case — that is, the same guys who don't have a problem with club-wielding Black Panther goons trying to scare Caucasians away from the polls. A similar case has come up in New Mexico in addition to New York.

Comrade Obama's Shovel-Ready Project

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:54 AM

At last, a little transparency from the Obama Regime. After spending $1 trillion that we don't have on shovel-ready projects, he admits that they do not exist. To quote the Taxer and Spender in Chief:

"[T]here's no such thing as shovel-ready projects."

Great. So can we have our $1,000,000,000,000 back? I didn't think so.

Jonah Goldberg comments:

Back in early 2009, President-elect Barack Obama was asked on Meet the Press how quickly he could create jobs. Oh, very fast, he said. He'd already consulted with a gaggle of governors, and "all of them have projects that are shovel-ready." When Obama revealed the members of his energy team, he explained that they were part of his effort to get started on "shovel-ready projects all across the country." When he unveiled his education secretary, he assured everyone that he was going to get started "helping states and local governments with shovel-ready projects."
In interviews, job summits, and press conferences, it was shovel-ready this, shovel-ready that. Search the White House website for the term "shovel-ready" and you'll drown in press releases about all the shovels ready to shove shovel-ready projects into the 21st century, where no shovel is left behind. …
It's not that Obama was lying when he said all that stuff. It's just that he didn't know what he was talking about. All it took was nearly a trillion dollars in stimulus money and 20-plus months of on-the-job training for him to discover that he was talking nonsense.

Goldberg is too kind when accuses Obama of gross incompetence. The Manchurian Moonbat isn't even trying to be competent.

But the Anointed One did finally manage to find a shovel-ready project:

Colonel Reb Disappeared by the Thought Police

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:17 AM

Totalitarian political correctness has stuffed another piece of American culture down the memory hole, costing Ole Miss its beloved mascot, Colonel Reb:

…the University of Mississippi has a substitute for a beloved and reviled mascot who brought the Confederacy to mind. The new guy is still a rebel, only cuddlier.
"Rebel Black Bear" won 62 percent of the vote in a final poll, the school announced Thursday. Its athletic programs will keep the Rebels nickname.

The Colonel is believed to have been inspired by Blind Jim Ivy, a devoted Ole Miss fan who was black. But this wasn't enough to redeem him for reminding liberals of the antebellum South, so he has been erased.

The Rebels nickname will be the next to go. Maybe they should change the name to the Eunuchs in honor of those who knuckle under to political correctness.

Colonel Reb in happier times.

Environmentally Correct Cars Eaten by Rabbits

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:17 AM

We've got yet another one for the Unforeseen Consequences of Sanctimonious Moonbattery file. It seems rabbits have been eating people's cars:

One air traveler says rabbits took a chunk out of his car while it was parked at Denver International Airport.
After a nine day stay at DIA's Pike's Peak lot, Dexter Meyer returned from vacation and found that his car would barely start.
"The (repair man) called me and told me that rodents had eaten through the wires," said Meyer. That's what the VW dealer said was wrong with his brand new Jetta.
"You didn't just pick the car up from the airport did you?" the dealer asked Meyer. "And I said, 'well as a matter of fact I did.' And he said 'well we've had several problems with people having rabbits eating through the wiring.'"
"We've seen rabbits and we've seen mice and they're eating up the newer cars," said Robert Bauguess, owner of Bavarian Autohaus. He said 2002 and newer models seem to be especially tasty.
Cars like Meyer's use a soy-based compound in the wiring.

Soy-based wiring? What's wrong with plastic? What the…

Although traditional petroleum-based composites still dominate the plastics industry, they're ceding market share to their bio-based counterparts. The primary reasons: the rising cost of oil [due to senseless drilling restrictions] and heightened environmental concerns…
Backers of bio-based plastics say soy-based polymers eventually could replace petroleum-based plastics in a wide variety of applications in construction, packaging, electronics, furniture and transportation.

I doubt the polar bears appreciate it, but at least the rabbits, mice, and presumably rats do.

This design was asking for trouble. No wonder it's for sale.

Weight of Taxation Is Heavier Than Most Know

Posted by Dave Blount at 2:31 PM

The official unemployment numbers are downright comforting, compared to the actual total number of people who are unemployed. The same applies to the massive burden of taxation our moonbat rulers are inflicting on the economy. Duke University research scholar Christopher J. Conover explains:

When the government taxes apples, people buy and sell fewer apples. That leaves both buyers and sellers worse off. The same thing happens when government taxes other goods, labor, or capital.
Economists call that lost economic output the "deadweight loss" of taxation. People still work, consume, and invest. They just do it less often, which leaves the nation poorer.
Everyone from President Reagan's economic advisor Martin Feldstein to President Obama's economic advisor Jonathan Gruber agree that this hidden cost of taxation is very real and very large.
When the federal government takes an additional dollar from taxpayers, the actual cost to society is generally $1.44. That extra 44 cents represents the deadweight loss of taxation. Every time Congress shifts another dollar from Peter to Paul, it leaves society 44 cents poorer.
The deadweight loss of taxation can be much higher, though. For example, if Congress allows income-tax rates to rise in January, as current law provides, it will cost society $1.50 for every dollar of new tax revenue. Feldstein estimates that each dollar of new income-tax revenue could cost society $2.65!

Now let's apply this to ObamaCare:

A striking example is President Obama's new health care law. ObamaCare includes roughly $500 billion in new taxes over the next 10 years, but also includes provisions that could result in further tax increases (such as the so-called "doc fix"). If all those additional taxes materialize (which some argue is the most likely scenario), then ObamaCare will impose an additional cost of roughly $550 billion in foregone economic output. That's more than half of the law's official cost. The deadweight losses may be even higher if Feldstein's estimates are accurate.
If Congress ends up borrowing money to finance ObamaCare's new spending or the "doc fix," the deadweight losses could climb higher still. University of Chicago economist Harald Uhlig estimates that federal borrowing carries a much higher deadweight loss, such that every $1 of deficit spending ultimately costs society $4.40.

Obama told us again and again and again that he would only loot "the rich," and that 95% of Americans would pay less under his regime. Other people tell us that he is taxing and spending our economy to the point of collapse as part of a deliberate strategy to impose authoritarian collectivism. At this point, who is it sensible to believe?

Moonbat Tech: Giant Sewage-Fed Mushrooms to Sprout in LA

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:54 AM

Once again, human waste inspires the imaginations of moonbats. This ought to smell lovely:

Mushroom-shaped solar evaporators have taken out first place in a competition asking architects, landscape architects, designers, engineers, urban planners, students and environmental professionals to create an innovative urban vision for a several-mile-long development zone on the eastern edge of downtown LA. The Project Umbrella submission features a series of umbrella-like structures designed to clarify black water from city sewage which would then be used to encourage the growth of surrounding trees and plants.
The Los Angeles Cleantech Corridor and Green District Competition was sponsored by The Architect's Newspaper and the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). It was presented with the Office of the Mayor of Los Angeles and the Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles, which established the Clean Tech Corridor, a planned 2,000‐acre mixed-use development zone near downtown LA.

The giant sewage mushrooms are part of a master plan:

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa predicts the Corridor will transform downtown's industrial core into an incubator for green jobs and technology, promote the sustainable growth of Los Angeles' economy, and place the city at the forefront of the Cleantech revolution.

You put a MEChA kook like Villaraigosa in charge of a major city and what do you expect, sanity? Not to worry, the feds will be there with a bailout when Los Angeles helps drag the whole state into bankruptcy by wasting money on preposterous green boondoggles.

All it needs is a giant caterpillar on top smoking a hookah.

Dems Offer Pot as Bribe to Young Voters

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:42 AM

We've come a long way from the decline of Rome — all the way from bread & circuses to food stamps & marijuana. Dems are using ganja to bribe young people into voting as a deliberate strategy:

Democratic strategists are studying a California marijuana-legalization initiative to see if similar ballot measures could energize young, liberal voters in swing states for the 2012 presidential election.
Some pollsters and party officials say Democratic candidates in California are benefiting from a surge in enthusiasm among young voters eager to back Proposition 19, which would legalize marijuana in certain quantities and permit local governments to regulate and tax it.
Party strategists and marijuana-legalization advocates are discussing whether to push for similar ballot questions in 2012 in Colorado and Nevada — both expected to be crucial to President Barack Obama's re-election — and Washington state, which will have races for governor and seats in both houses of Congress.
Already, a coalition of Democratic-leaning groups has conducted a poll in Colorado and Washington to test the power of marijuana measures to drive voter turnout.

As an added benefit to Dems, if we're sufficiently stoned, we might not realize what they're doing to our country.

The Degeneracy Party has resolved its branding issue.

Barbara Boxer Helped Code Pink Deliver Aid to Terrorists

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:49 AM

Remember when Code Pinkos raised $600,000 for the terrorists fighting our troops in Fallujah? They needed help to make their donation — and got it from friends in high places:

Scott Swett at the American Thinker reported that Senator Barabara Boxer (D-CA) along with Representatives Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) and Henry Waxman (D-CA) secured diplomatic courtesy letters that allowed anti-American Code Pink activists to travel to Fallujah, Iraq. The radicals traveled to Fallujah in late 2004 to donate $600,000 worth of humanitarian aid to the people who had just killed 51 Americans and wounded 560 more earlier that month.

It is not hyperbole to refer to Democrats like Boxer, Grijalva, Kucinich, and Waxman as traitors. In reasonable times, they would be investigated for treason.

Meanwhile the VFW, which is succumbing to leftist infiltration like so many established institutions, outrageously endorsed Babs "Call Me Senator" Boxer. Apparently it no more represents the average veteran than the corrupt moonbats running the AMA represent the average doctor.

More news on Babs "the Dwarf" Boxer:

Boxer, as chairwoman of the Senate Ethics Committee, led a yearlong investigation beginning in 2008 into whether two Democratic senators acted improperly by being part of a VIP Countrywide program that gave influential clients favorable treatment.
At that time, Boxer told reporters that she had not been a part of the company's VIP program and did not currently have any Countrywide mortgages.

According to extensive research provided to The Daily Caller by the non-partisan Foundation for Ethics in Public Service, Boxer conducted business with Countrywide on another property too — as co-signer of a house with her son. The group argues that if you add up all the transactions, including re-finances, on those three properties, Boxer has actually signed for at least seven Countrywide mortgages.

Boxer's committee eventually cleared Democratic Sens. Chris Dodd of Connecticut and Kent Conrad of North Dakota of wrongdoing.

California, have mercy. Please don't inflict the Dwarf on us for another six years.

Moonbat Tech: Hug a Glacier Suit

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:39 AM

No moonbat lost so deep in a fog of statist propaganda as to still believe the glaciers are melting should be without a Glacier Embracing Suit:

This suit explores the avenue of "body" language and non-verbal communication. Intended for awkward introductory glacier encounters, it acts as an "ice breaker", better enabling a person to lie prone on the surface of the glacier and give it a hug. Worn on the front of the body, the reflective padded material serves to mediate the difference in temperatures between the human body and the glacial ice.

Hug the glaciers one last time before they melt away, moonbats! Then hug a polar bear.

Jerry Brown: "We Need More Welfare and Fewer Jobs"

Posted by Dave Blount at 1:39 PM

If you think the situation in California is bad now, wait until Governor Moonbeam gets reinstated. Here's his economic policy:

The conventional viewpoint says we need a jobs program and we need to cut welfare. Just the opposite! We need more welfare and fewer jobs. Jobs for every American is doomed to failure because of modern automation and production. We ought to recognize it and create an income-maintenance system so every single American has the dignity and the wherewithal for shelter, basic food, and medical care. I'm talking about welfare for all.

You see, when everyone is on welfare, we can just let robots do all the work while we sit around our government-provided homes and watch Oprah all day. Then we'll all be Democrats. Utopia!

Charlie Crist Allies Steal Vowels From Marco Rubio

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:42 AM

We already knew that nothing is beneath Charlie Crist, the liberal RINO who was defeated by Tea Party patriot Marco Rubio in the primary for the Florida governor race, and reacted by running as an independent. But even so, who would suspect Crist and his supporters of stooping low enough to steal vowels from Rubio's name?

From an endorsement by La Gaceta that can be found on the odious Crist's website:

Former Florida Speaker of the House Marc Rub (we have stripped Marco Rubio of his Hispanicness and the vowels from his name) is the Republican nominee and faces Congressman Kendrick Meek, who is the Democratic nominee, and both are being challenged by Governor Charlie Crist, who is no party's nominee.

A message for Crist (or Cristio, as he might be calling himself now that he has Rubio's vowels), in case he can hear through the brown stuff leaking out his ears: You're no party's nominee because YOU LOST. Now go away, and take Lisa Murkowski with you.

Rubio's "Hispanicness" is under siege because he stands charged with running as an American rather than hispandering, despite his Cuban parentage. Playing the Hispanic race card against him on behalf of the Caucasian Crist takes the race-based politics of the Age of Obama to the ultimate extreme of absurdity.

Male Pervert Lana Lawless Sues to Compete as Woman at Golf

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:31 AM

In case you missed the Renée Richards farce the first time around, here it comes again — this time to the world of golf:

A transgender woman [sic] is suing the LPGA [Ladies Professional Golf Association] over a requirement which states all competitors must be "female at birth."
The New York Times is reporting Wednesday that Lana Lawless, a 57-year-old who underwent gender reassignment surgery in 2005, filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in San Francisco claiming the policy violates California civil rights laws.

He picked the right venue. This is the court of militantly homosexual Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker, who stuck his finger in California's eye by throwing out a popular proposition that would defend marriage from sacrilege.

Lawless won the women's world championship in long-drive golf in 2008, but was barred from competing this year because Long Drivers of America — which oversees the event — had changed its policy to mirror that of the LPGA.

Typical of moonbat thugs who use our deranged, hyper-politicized legal system to club anyone who opposes their agenda, Lawless is trying to prevent LPGA from holding any events in California until it knuckles under and allows male perverts who surgically mutilate themselves to perform as women. Oh, and he wants "an unspecified amount in damages."

Imagine trying to run a golf tournament or any other kind of business in a country where greedy freaks like Lawless aren't laughed out of court.

Raul Grijalva's Wife Plays the Race Card

In Arizona's 7th district, the surging Ruth McClung is throwing a scare into ultra-left reconquistador Raul Grijalva, who recently felt so secure in his supposed invulnerability that he called for a boycott of his own state. Now quivering in terror, he sends his wife out to play the race card for him. Mona Grijalva had this to guest-shriek on Tucson City Councilkook Richard Fimbres's blog:

With only 23 days left to go before election day, there is a true sense of urgency and NOW is the time to really get busy!! The right wing sees Raul as vulnerable and is working really hard to win the race in CD7…and they have ALOT [sic] of money. They already have horrible, biggoted [sic] anti-Raul commercials on TV! They have already mailed anti-Raul flyers to thousands of homes in CD7! They had folks waving anti-Raul signs at moving traffic while screaming racist epithets in several areas of town last week!!

Public Funds for Condoms and Lubricants at Gay Bar

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:30 AM

Big Government can seize pretty much all the money it wants from us. So long as the economy has not yet been bled to death, the only problem is, what to do with so much loot? Bureauweenies in Arkansas came up with this idea: use some to facilitate homosexual depravity:

A non-profit organization called "Brotha's and Sistah's Inc." (B&S) applied for and received a $50,000 grant as part of an overall $340,419 in grant awarded by the AMHC [Arkansas Minority Health Commission] for HIV/AIDS prevention. The targeted population listed in the application is "Arkansas' Black LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) Community's MSM (Men having Sex with Men)."
The B&S grant funded the organization's operation inside a gay nightclub called Club Good Times on 3910 Asher Avenue in Little Rock that according to the application "caters to the Black SGL (Same Gender Loving) population in Arkansas." In fact, B&S lists their address as the same address as Club Good Times on their application. The funding was requested mainly for the salaries of three individuals, for the distribution of materials inside the club such as condoms and lubricants, and for renting space from Club Good Times.

At least the money isn't going to Caucasians. That would be racist.

The pretext of course is that paying people to pass out free condoms and lubricants in a gay sex cesspool will fight AIDS. However, if our degenerate rulers had any interest in fighting AIDS, they would stop spending our money to encourage the perverse behavior that spreads the disease.

The sort of hole they're pouring your money down.

GE Paid $24.9 Million in "Stimulus" Funds, Then Cuts 18,000 US Jobs

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:32 AM

The great thing about capitalism is that allows you to rise from nothing and climb to the very top. But the drawback is that once you get there, you have to stay competitive, or someone who works harder will supplant you. That's why entrenched establishment dinosaurs like GE prefer crony capitalism — a system by which corrupt Big Government is bribed to pick winners and losers. This guarantees that regulations will be applied to keep down troublesome upstarts. It can also be highly remunerative:

The Obama administration gave corporate giant General Electric — the parent company of NBC — $24.9 million in grants from the $787-billion economic "stimulus" law President Barack Obama signed in February 2009, according to records posted by the administration at
Despite getting $24.9 million from U.S. taxpayers, GE decreased its U.S.-based employees by 18,000 in 2009, according to the company's 2009 annual report.
According to Standard & Poor's, GE took in $156 billion in revenue in 2009.

They didn't need the money, and they sure didn't use it to put Americans to work. But NBC News and MSNBC bent over backward to hype the Moonbat Messiah into office, so the $24.9 million payment was due for services rendered.

GE has lowdown friends in high places.

Big Government Spends Its Way Toward Anarchy

Posted by Dave Blount at 3:07 PM

What happens when our liberal rulers waste so much money on useless bureaucrats' salaries, entitlement handouts, green energy boondoggles, and general senseless moonbattery that there isn't enough left to fund the legitimate functions of government? Oregonians are finding out:

The district attorney in Multnomah County, the state's most populous area with over 710,000 residents, announced recently that it can no longer prosecute dozens of crimes thanks to an ever-shrinking budget.
Caught with small amounts of heroin, cocaine or methamphetamine? It's a ticket. So's a hit-and-run accident. Small-time shoplifting? You'll still get arrested, but it's still just a violation.
For these and other lesser crimes, the district attorney will simply refuse to prosecute. …
Other crimes which the county will adjust to violation level include trespassing on non-commercial property, "theft or forgery in the second degree," harassment, interfering with a police officer, interfering with public transportation, resisting arrest (non-injury) and criminal mischief in the second degree.

Too bad they're unlikely to stop punishing those who refuse to pay their taxes. But I'm forgetting, for Obama's top henchmen, they already have.

Ironically, as Big Government expands to the point of monstrosity, streets often degenerate into anarchy — as can be seen in the prototype for the Obama Regime, Hugo Chavez's Venezuela.

On the streets, Big Government often leads to no government.

Gangsta Rap Fan in the White House

Posted by Dave Blount at 12:05 PM

Not all blacks are delighted with the caliber leadership our liberal ruling class has seen fit to install in the White House. Stanley Crouch doesn't sound pleased:

Last week, Thomas Chatterton Williams, author of "Losing My Cool: How a Father's Love and 15,000 Books Beat Hip-Hop Culture," gracefully tore President Obama a new one. A member of the hip-hop generation, Williams is one of those who are intensely critical of the violence, drug dealing, misogyny and crude materialism that distinguish hip hop.

In an interview with Tiger Beat, I'm sorry, Rolling Stone, the Adolescent in Chief was asked about the contents of his iPod:

Obama mentioned Jay-Z, then went on to say that he has now expanded his listening to include Lil Wayne, that tattooed gargoyle now serving time for drug and gun possession at Rikers Island.
Obama is too young to have musical tastes as sophisticated as Bill Clinton's, but that's not an excuse Williams will accept. He was deeply disappointed by Obama's answer, because, as he wrote in the Wall Street Journal, "Lil Wayne is … a modern-day minstrel who embodies the most virulent racist stereotypes that generations of blacks have fought to overcome. His music is a vigorous endorsement of the pathologies that still haunt and cripple far too many in the black underclass."

Here's what the President of the United States listens to on his iPod (sorry about the language):

A young nigga screaming fuck the world and let 'em die
Behind tints, tryna' duck the world and smoking rie
Got my bandanna 'round my head and pants to my feet
And got my eyes fire red and glock on my seat
I'm tryna' stay under intoxication
'Cause I lost my father, and got a daughter, plus I'm on probation

Considering that Obama was abandoned as a small child by his lowlife bigamist father, I can see why he would be able relate to that part — if he were still 13 years old.

Lil' Wayne also has a romantic side:

I might stumble across a grand and give it to you wifey
And watch how she *slurp* on my pipey like a Icee

Imagine if you were told just a few years ago that someone who listens to this stuff would soon be sitting in the Oval Office, steering a course for the nation. America is getting fundamentally transformed, all right.

Most of us grow up. Some don't.

More Muslim Superheroes

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:55 AM

Thanks to the liberal establishment's love for expansionist Islam, the wheelchair-bound Religion of Peacenik who triumphs over villainy as the Silver Scorpion isn't the last word in Muslim superheroes:

Scheduled for release on the new network The Hub — formerly Discovery Kids — …is a cartoon beloved in the Arab world and received timidly in Britain last year, "The 99."
The program chronicles the adventures of 99 superheroes, each of whom embodies an attribute of Allah.
Jabbar is a Muslim Incredible Hulk. Mumita is wicked fast. But Wonder Woman-style cleavage has been banned from the ladies. And, in this faith-based cartoon, hair-hiding head scarves are mandatory for five characters, not including burqa babe Batina the Hidden.
In another break from standard world-saving fare, male and female characters are never alone together. (Imagine the stoning super-strong characters would dish out.) "The 99" even has the seal of approval of a Sharia board — which polices Muslim law — affiliated with an Islamic bank from which the show received financing.

Our moonbat rulers provide a stamp of approval.

President Obama praised the work of the comic's creator, Kuwaiti psychologist Naif al-Mustawa. At an April meeting with Arab entrepreneurs, Obama said, "His superheroes embody the teachings of the tolerance of Islam."
The tolerance of Islam.

As Adrian Morgan of Family Security Matters notes,

"Are we going to see ass-kicking Christian superhero nuns called Faith, Hope and Charity whooping sinners' butts and sending Satan into hell? It's doubtful."

The idea is to instill in young minds that living under Sharia won't be so bad.

Considering that liberals' purported values are diametrically opposed to Islam in every respect, what do they gain by pushing Muslim propaganda? Once again we see that liberalism is better understood not as an ideology, but as a disease. It exists to corrupt and destroy by whatever means come to hand. As the liberal establishment's enthusiastic support for Islam emphasizes, all the rest is dispensable window dressing.

Soon to be injected into your children's brains, compliments of the Muslim/moonbat alliance.

Uncle Sam's Plantation

Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Founding Father of the American welfare state, appeared to have qualms about the Frankenstein monster he set in motion:

"The lessons of history … show conclusively that continued dependence upon relief induces a spiritual and moral disintegration fundamentally destructive to the national fiber. To dole out relief in this way is to administer a narcotic, a subtle destroyer of the human spirit."
These searing words about Depression-era welfare are from Franklin Roosevelt's 1935 State of the Union Address. FDR feared this self-reliant people might come to depend permanently upon government for the necessities of their daily lives. Like narcotics, such a dependency would destroy the fiber and spirit of the nation.
What brings his words to mind is news that 41.8 million Americans are on food stamps, and the White House estimates 43 million will soon be getting food stamps every month. …
What we have accepted today is a vast permanent underclass of scores of millions who cannot cope and must be carried by the rest of society — fed, clothed, housed, tutored, medicated at taxpayer's expense for their entire lives. We have a new division in America: those who pay a double fare, and those who forever ride free.

The longer we allow this intolerable state of affairs to continue, the more politically impossible it becomes to reverse it:

Efforts to tame America's ballooning budget deficit could soon confront a daunting reality: Nearly half of all Americans live in a household in which someone receives government benefits, more than at any time in history.
At the same time, the fraction of American households not paying federal income taxes has also grown — to an estimated 45% in 2010, from 39% five years ago, according to the Tax Policy Center, a nonpartisan research organization. …
"We have a very large share of the American population that is getting checks from the government," says Keith Hennessey, an economic adviser to President George W. Bush and now a fellow at the conservative Hoover Institution, "and an increasingly smaller portion of the population that's paying for it."

We have reinstituted slavery. Those who work are slaves to those who don't. The actual masters are the government bureauweenies who take upon themselves the responsibility of redistributing the wealth created by the slaves, while keeping an explosively growing cut for themselves.

Soon we will reach the tipping point, where more than half of the population lives parasitically off the enslaved remainder. Democracy will have become two wolves and a sheep deciding what's for dinner. Soon after that, our civilization will come tumbling down. As Margaret Thatcher famously observed, socialists inevitably run out of other people's money.

We may not make it to this tipping point before plunging into ruin. The situation is already clearly unsustainable:

Treasury reported that the government ran a $1.26 trillion deficit for the first 11 months of the fiscal year, on pace to be the second-biggest on record.
Yet even as Americans express concern over the deficit in opinion polls, many oppose benefit cuts, particularly with the economy on an uneven footing.

But the more money Big Government sucks out of the economy and uses to pay people not to work, the longer it will take the economy to recover. That's how the vicious cycle of government "help" works.

Breaking an addiction is never easy. Whether we follow the Soviet Union into the quicksand of socialism or pull ourselves back from the brink, there is going to be pain. The liberals who constructed and expanded the welfare state made it inevitable.

New York Suppresses Military Vote

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:56 AM

Here's a story we've heard before (see here and here, for example). The Democrat-run establishment is suppressing the military vote:

More than one week after its extended deadline, New York still hasn't mailed out absentee ballots to all its 320,000 military servicemen and women and overseas voters, in clear violation of the MOVE Act, has learned.
According to the 2009 MOVE Act, a state must send out its military and overseas ballots 45 days prior to elections.
New York was granted a waiver to this deadline by the Department of Justice and given an additional 15 days — until October 1 — to send out all its ballots.

The new deadline came and went, and still the ballots were not sent out for some of New York's most heavily populated areas, including NYC.

"The gravity of New York's failure cannot be overstated. With approximately 50,000 military and overseas voters in New York City alone, there is no doubt that the November elections could be altered by this failure," said Eric Eversole, a former Justice Department voting section attorney who recently started a nonprofit organization, Military Voter Protection Project, to protect military voting rights.

At last word, the ballots still haven't been sent. Even Mayor for Life Bloomberg and the Injustice Department have been forced to berate the New York State Board of Elections.

But eventually the bluster will die down, the headlines will fade away, and the skeevy Andrew Cuomo will be governor — thanks in part to thousands who risk their lives to defend our democratic system not being allowed to take part in it.

Breaking News From the 1930s

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:07 AM

It took awhile, but the news is finally getting past the liberal establishment blockade:

Like the Manchurian Moonbat, FDR inherited a mess. But would it ever have been called the Great Depression if he hadn't made it vastly worst?

People are becoming aware that FDR extended the Depression for years. Some question whether it was by design. The Democrats' current attempt to recreate the Big Government heyday of the 1930s leaves less question in that regard.

Petite Conservative Woman Slapped Around at Moonbat Rally

Posted by Dave Blount at 2:02 PM

Just because you will hear about this in few other places, here's a report on petite Human Events reporter Emily Miller getting physically abused at the sordid One Nation moonbat fest:

One Emily Miller, a senior editor for HumanEvents who previously served as the deputy press secretary at the State Department and also served as an associate producer at ABC News, got pummeled like a rebel stepchild on October 2nd by a black liberal chick at the "One Nation Working Together" (cough) rally in D.C.
Here's Jason Mattera's short synopsis of the violence that went down in D.C. at the ill-attended, union-stacked, Star Wars bar scene, jealous of Glenn Beck Socialist Soiree:
"The reporter, Emily Miller, who was videotaping Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) was first hit from behind while she was taping Rangel in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Miss Miller is heard on the video saying, 'Please don't hit me.' The protester proceeds to yell at the reporter, 'Well get out of the way! What do you think this is? A--hole.' The activist was attempting to meet Rangel herself. Miss Miller continued videotaping the event, when suddenly the same unhinged protester lunged at her, hit her on the arm, and yelled, 'Don't take my picture.'"

Imagine the deafening shrieks from the media if a black reporter showed up at a Tea Party and was assailed by a Caucasian Amazon. But then, you couldn't blame the media for getting excited over an incident that no reasonable person would ever expect to happen.

Obama Falls Out Even With His Base

Posted by Dave Blount at 12:04 PM

Comrade Obama has taken time off from his busy vacation schedule to hit the campaign trail for Dem candidates who face the wrath of voters. Yet due to his disastrous performance, he is no longer on the best footing even with other Democrats. With characteristic tact, the Moonbat Messiah berated donors at a $15,200 per person fundraiser, accusing them of "sulking and sitting back."

His mouthpieces haven't been any less arrogantly abusive:

Biden said last week that "our base constituency [should] stop whining," and Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell (D) said this week that liberals unimpressed by Obama's tenure need to "get over it."

Government Confiscates Oath Keeper's Baby

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:06 AM

In the Third Reich, nightmarish atrocities were made possible on an industrial scale because good Germans just followed orders. Fortunately good Americans take their orders from their consciences and from the Constitution, not from whatever politicians have managed to seize the levers of power. The Oath Keepers are true patriots in the military and law enforcement who have made it clear up front that they will not mistake the American government for America, nor will they turn against the American people if the tragic farce that is Obamunism gets any further out of hand.

Big Government responds:

A 16-hour-old newborn was snatched from her parents by authorities in Concord, N.H., after social services workers alleged the father is a member of Oath Keepers.
The organization collects affirmations from soldiers and peace officers that they would refuse orders that violate the U.S. Constitution, in light of what they perceive as the advance of socialism in the U.S.
The father, Johnathon Irish, told WND that the affidavit signed by Child Protective Service worker Dana Bicford seeking government custody of newborn Cheyenne said the agency "became aware and confirmed that Mr. Irish associated with a militia known as the 'Oath Keepers.'"

The Oath Keepers are not a militia, nor do they advocate violence — on the contrary, the whole point of the group is that they refuse to inflict violence in the name of a runaway government that no longer represents the people.

Irish, in an interview with WND, said officers and other social services workers ordered him to stand with his hands behind his back, frisked him and then took his daughter from him and his fiancé at Concord Hospital where the baby had been born. …
Kathleen Demaris, a spokeswoman for the state agency, refused to comment.

Ironically this ham-fisted thuggery underscores the Oath Keepers' point: that our government under its current leadership is malevolent to the point that disaster will ensue if we follow its orders unthinkingly.

The next logical step will be confiscating children from parents associated with the Tea Party.

Strap yourselves in, it's going to be a wild ride from now until we get the Manchurian Moonbat and his communist cohorts out of the White House and Congress.

Johnathan Irish tells his alarming story.

Countermoonbat Ruth McClung Takes Off

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:08 AM

They said no one could unseat the roach-like but securely entrenched Raul Grijalva in Arizona's 7th district, even after he urged a boycott of his own state in an attempt to discredit the mild steps toward enforcing federal immigration law put forward in SB1070. His machine is too powerful, Tucson is too infested with flaky U of A moonbats, and southern Arizona has already been demographically conquered by Mexico. Grijalva is the only Representative to ever hold the seat. His opponent Ruth McClung may be a rocket scientist, but she has no political experience, no machine, and no chance.

All the same I donated to the McClung campaign. I had the lucky chance to talk with Ruth at length and found her not only as sharp as you would expect of a physicist, but sensible, thoughtful, informed, and honest. Even as a lost cause her quest to liberate district 7 from Grijalva was worthy of support. Now we learn that it's no longer a lost cause, as Robert Stacy McCain reports:

Confirming indications of a building Republican "wave" this fall, polls now show Democrat Rep. Raul Grijalva in a dead-heat with his little-known challenger in Arizona's 7th District. Politico reports that the Congressional Hispanic Caucus is now directing campaign cash to help Grijalva against insurgent GOP candidate Ruth McClung. …
Late Sunday night, I spoke to a Republican pollster in Arizona who had conducted a 7th District poll early last week and couldn't believe the result: McClung actually leading by 2 percentage points. So he polled the district again and got similar results. Now those surprising findings have been confirmed by the Magellan Strategies poll that struck alarm among Democrats. Independents in the district are breaking strongly toward the Republican, a Tea Party favorite who is also supported by about a fifth of voters who identify as Democrats.

It looks like the strategy of sending punks out to steal Ruth McClung yard signs isn't working as well as Grijalva must have hoped.

Co-chairman of the Progressive Caucus, Grijalva is among the most extreme ultra-leftists in Congress. Replacing him with a Tea Party patriot like Ruth McClung would be a crushing defeat for moonbats.

If you'd like to see Grijalva shown the door, do your part here.

Ruth McClung: exactly what we need instead of Grijalva.

Prince Charles: West Should Emulate Indian Slums

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:38 AM

What would England look like if Prince Charles were to become king, and it were to pursue his left-wing vision of multiculti envirosustainability? Like one of the miserable slums that fester in India:

Britain's Prince Charles has cited the Mumbai shantytown setting for the film "Slumdog Millionaire'' as a role model for sustainable living in Western cities, a report said Saturday.
The 61-year-old heir to the British throne writes in a new book being published next week that the Dharavi slum is better and more instinctively organised than many Western towns, London's Daily Telegraph said.
In the book, called Harmony, Prince Charles contrasts the "fragmented, deconstructed" housing estates of Western nations with the "order and harmony" of the dusty potters' colony featured in the Oscar-winning movie.
"We have a great deal to learn about how complex systems can self-organise to create a harmonious whole," he said.
"The real lesson I took from Dharavi was about the vast asset we can call 'community capital.'"
Prince Charles says that, despite the complete absence of government support, Dharavi's residents recycle their waste and build their own homes out of whatever materials come to hand.

Such as cow dung, garbage, et cetera. But I'm guessing Prince Chucklehead will stay on in his palace.

Physicist Hal Lewis Resigns Over Global Warming Corruption

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:12 AM

Prominent physicist Hal Lewis has resigned from the American Physical Society in disgust over how the science establishment has sacrificed its integrity for government payoffs to prop up the discredited global warming hoax. From his letter of resignation:

When I first joined the American Physical Society sixty-seven years ago it was much smaller, much gentler, and as yet uncorrupted by the money flood (a threat against which Dwight Eisenhower warned a half-century ago). …
How different it is now. The giants no longer walk the earth, and the money flood has become the raison d'être of much physics research, the vital sustenance of much more, and it provides the support for untold numbers of professional jobs. For reasons that will soon become clear my former pride at being an APS Fellow all these years has been turned into shame, and I am forced, with no pleasure at all, to offer you my resignation from the Society.
It is of course, the global warming scam, with the (literally) trillions of dollars driving it, that has corrupted so many scientists, and has carried APS before it like a rogue wave. It is the greatest and most successful pseudoscientific fraud I have seen in my long life as a physicist. Anyone who has the faintest doubt that this is so should force himself to read the ClimateGate documents, which lay it bare. (Montford's book organizes the facts very well.) I don't believe that any real physicist, nay scientist, can read that stuff without revulsion. I would almost make that revulsion a definition of the word scientist.
So what has the APS, as an organization, done in the face of this challenge? It has accepted the corruption as the norm, and gone along with it. …
This scheming at APS HQ is so bizarre that there cannot be a simple explanation for it. Some have held that the physicists of today are not as smart as they used to be, but I don't think that is an issue. I think it is the money, exactly what Eisenhower warned about a half-century ago. There are indeed trillions of dollars involved, to say nothing of the fame and glory (and frequent trips to exotic islands) that go with being a member of the club. … When Penn State absolved Mike Mann of wrongdoing, and the University of East Anglia did the same for Phil Jones, they cannot have been unaware of the financial penalty for doing otherwise. As the old saying goes, you don't have to be a weatherman to know which way the wind is blowing. Since I am no philosopher, I'm not going to explore at just which point enlightened self-interest crosses the line into corruption, but a careful reading of the ClimateGate releases makes it clear that this is not an academic question.
I want no part of it, so please accept my resignation.

Public money doled out by liberal ideologues has made real scientists a dying breed. Unless Big Government is scaled back dramatically, Hal Lewis will be one of the last of them.

Democrats Use Stimulus Loot to Pay Off Loyal Constituencies

Posted by Dave Blount at 1:04 PM

Given the overwhelming tendency of dead people who vote to vote Democrat, conspicuously in the swamps of corruption that spawned the Moonbat Messiah, this shouldn't surprise anyone:

More than 89,000 stimulus payments of $250 each went to people who were either dead or in prison, a government investigator says in a new report.
The payments, which were part of last year's massive economic recovery package, were meant to increase consumer spending to help stimulate the economy.
But about $18 million went to nearly 72,000 people who were dead, according to the report by the Social Security Administration's inspector general. The report estimates that a little more than half of those payments were returned.

The other half must have gone toward spiffy new coffins.

Dead people were ineligible to get the payments. But, the report said, there is no provision in the law to recover payments incorrectly sent to dead people.

Obviously, the people flinging the money around didn't have to work for it.

An additional $4.3 million went to more than 17,000 prison inmates, the report said.

Why not? Felons are comparably loyal to Democrats.

Let's hope the corpses and crooks feel stimulated, so that the hundreds and hundreds of $billions of our money stolen and then wasted in the name of "stimulus" won't be a total loss.

Nancy Pelosi Unveils Democrat Economic Strategy

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:14 AM

Nasty Pelousy has revealed the Dems' October surprise — an economic strategy certain to turn around the economy:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Wednesday strongly defended her party's support of the federal food stamp program…
At a press conference in her home town of San Francisco, Pelosi explained that the program's multiplier effect — the amount of money generated in the local economy as the result of the subsidy — far exceeds the nearly $60 billion spent this year by the federal government and is a sure-fire way to stimulate the economy. For every dollar a person receives in food stamps, Pelosi said that $1.79 is put back into the economy.

Tax a dollar of that back out again, put it back into food stamps, and you have an economic perpetual motion machine. The beneficial effects ought to begin any moment.

The number of Americans receiving food stamps rose to a record 41.8 million in July and approximately one in eight Americans participate in the program, according to the USDA, with the average household subsidy receiving $294 a month.

Therefore, hooking a household on government dependency generates $526.26 per month for the economy. No wonder Dems pursue policies like Cap & Tax and ObamaCare that are certain to drive up unemployment. The fewer people work, the more are on food stamps, the more wealth is generated.

If Obama could fire the CEO of GM, he could fire anybody, so look for him to fire everyone just before the election. Democrats will ride to victory on a tide of food stamp-generated abundance.

With this ingenious plan, Dems will achieve ultimate victory.

Under "Post-racial" Obama, Race Relations Rot

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:56 AM

Are we united yet? Far from it:

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 36% of voters now say relations between blacks and whites are getting better. That's down from 62% in July of last year at the height of the controversy involving a black Harvard professor and a white policeman.

As readers will recall, in that case our "post-racial" president, who was elected largely for his skin color and who made his hatred of Caucasians public knowledge in an autobiography, acted stupidly by siding with a race-baiting moonbat against the police.

African-Americans are much more pessimistic than whites. Thirty-nine percent (39%) of whites think black-white race relations are getting better, but just 13% of blacks agree.

Interestingly, 59% of African-American voters continue to believe the country is moving in the right direction, a view shared by just 27% of whites.

You could almost get the impression that the Manchurian Moonbat is not expected to get along with Whitey, but to tear down his world.

Every time a liberal whips out the race card, the situation gets worse:

Confidence in the nation's course among African-Americans soared after Barack Obama's election. But then several prominent Democrats, perhaps most notably former President Jimmy Carter, suggested that opposition to the president's health care plan was motivated in part by racism. Only 12% of all voters agreed in September of last year, but among blacks, 27% felt that way and 48% were undecided.

The only way to end racial tension is to integrate and assimilate — which stands in direct contradiction to the liberal strategy of balkanization through "multiculturalism." The more power liberals hold, the worse race relations will inevitably get.

Race Card Played Against Christine O'Donnell

Posted by Dave Blount at 3:12 PM

You could almost feel sorry for Democrats, reduced as they are by their inability to defend their own candidates or policies to increasingly obvious desperation. A moonbat at the Root has fallen back to the last line of defense by playing the race card against much maligned Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell.

Whatever you think of her religious beliefs, it seems pretty obvious that O'Donnell is unfit for major elected office. So unfit, in fact, that I can't help comparing her with this year's other most famous amateurish candidate: Alvin Greene.

I thought Obama was race-based politics taken to the ultimate extreme of absurdity until Greene came along. Mental patients in the grips of catatonic depression have shown more impressive communication skills. Greene is unemployed, having been involuntarily discharged from both the Air Force and the Army, and has been indicted on a felony obscenity charge. As a candidate, he is so awful that Dems have floated the idea that Greene is a Republican plant. His skin color is literally his only qualification. Thanks to the "post-racial" politics of the age of Obama, it was enough to win him the South Carolina Senate nomination.

Yet it's this very skin color that allegedly makes him oppressed in comparison with O'Donnell.

What's more, all the media hype and GOP establishment support has made O'Donnell a household name, almost guaranteeing her a spot in politics regardless of how she fares on Election Day.

Actually, the GOP establishment tried to throw her overboard, but backed down in the face of Tea Party outrage. The "media hype" has been almost exclusively negative.

But the point is that she was given a fair shot at winning, a shot that Greene — her political equal — never had. Is it because O'Donnell is white?

Given that a conspicuously underqualified mulatto who describes himself as black occupies the White House, the absurdity of the race card reveals just how desperate libs must be to play it.

See if you find these two comparable:

Black Judge Denounces Plea Deals for "White Boys"

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:54 AM

By putting skin color before character and qualifications to elevate blacks to positions of authority they probably would not otherwise occupy, we have at last created a color-free America, gloriously united under the benevolent smirk of our post-racial Affirmative Action president. Here's how post-racialism manifests itself in the legal system:

A black judge [Joseph Williams] from western Pennsylvania rejected a plea agreement for a man accused of fighting with police during a traffic stop, saying it was "a ridiculous plea that only goes to white boys."

If a white judge dismissed a plea arrangement as "a ridiculous plea that only goes to n*****s," living rooms across America would be strewn with the fragments of shattered screens as television sets exploded from media outrage.

After the depraved travesty of the O.J. verdict, I dared hope that at least it would mean an end to the canard that the legal system is unfairly hard on blacks. But moonbattery doesn't even offer a silver lining.

Fortunately in this case, adults took charge:

Williams later recused himself from the case, and a white judge accepted the plea agreement for 24-year-old Jeffery McGowan.
The defendant, who had no criminal record, agreed to plead guilty to disorderly conduct. He had faced charges including aggravated assault. …
On Tuesday, Mike Manko, a spokesman for the district attorney's office, told the Tribune-Review the plea deal was appropriate and agreed to by the officer, who was not injured.
"Negotiated pleas are never based on the race of a particular defendant but rather on the behavior of the defendant and the facts associated with that behavior," Manko told the newspaper.

No doubt this proves that Manko is a racist.

No Parking or Access for $1 Billion Government Project

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:40 AM

There are many reasons why the Soviet Union collapsed, but two words would suffice to explain it: centralized planning. Here's how bureaucrats plan in the USA:

After five years of planning and a $1 billion construction project, a gleaming new Defense Department facility sits atop a hill alongside I-395. The hulking 1.4 million-square-foot landmark will be the new headquarters of the military's Washington operations.
By next September, the department must relocate 6,400 civilian, military and contractor personnel to the facility — equivalent to more than a quarter of the Pentagon's staff — in a move driven by the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Commission.
Only problem is, the plan won't work, according to many experts. There is no agreed-upon way for that many people to get to the building, no place to put all their cars, no nearby Metro or rail station.
Virtually all studies done so far show that surrounding roads — even after planned expansions are completed — cannot accommodate the traffic expected to stream in and out of the Mark Center facility each day.

No worries; leftist Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA) has stepped in to help:

Moran authored a provision in the House-passed 2011 Defense authorization bill that would limit parking spaces at the new facility to 1,000 — effectively choking plans to fully open the building — until a viable transportation plan is hatched that all parties can agree on.

That is, the headquarters will remain mostly empty while bureaucrats squabble indefinitely.

Fortunately it doesn't matter whether the $1 billion complex is ever used. The important thing is to spend money, thus stimulating the economy according to the perverse Keynesian faith of our Democrat rulers. The Manchurian Moonbat explains stimulus spending:

So then you get the argument, well, this is not a stimulus bill, this is a spending bill. What do you think a stimulus is? (Laughter and applause.) That's the whole point. No, seriously. (Laughter.) That's the point. (Applause.)

The next federal project: a bucket brigade to put the Atlantic Ocean into the Pacific Ocean. Think how many it will employ!

Bunks for Drunks Threatens to Spread

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:16 AM

For decades, California has exported moonbattery north, turning Washington and Oregon blue. Now, the lunacy is flowing back south, as San Francisco considers implementing a Seattle program that pushes rewarding bad behavior at taxpayers' expense to the furthest limit of lunacy. Via Corruption Chronicles:

Hardcore drunks get free government-funded apartments, catered meals and complimentary beer runs from staff at their public housing facility under a unique health program in Seattle that could soon spread to other parts of the country.
The innovative social service experiment, dubbed "bunks for drunks," is around five years old and could soon be adapted by other municipalities to rid streets of their worst homeless alcoholics. In Seattle, they dine on three catered meals a day at a new apartment building that cost taxpayers more than $11 million.
Liquor is free-flowing at the compound that caters exclusively to 75 hardcore alcoholics who usually crashed on the sidewalk before moving in. The building's staff regularly goes on booze runs for residents, fetching beer, wine and vodka purchased with government welfare and disability checks. Intoxicated residents stumble around the facility, often hurling profanities and engaging in spats with each other, according to a recent news report.

Gavin Newsom must be kicking himself for not thinking of this first.

Now San Francisco officials are considering replicating Seattle's program, which costs more than a $1 million a year. The San Francisco Department of Public Health already provides housing for about 1,000 substance abusers, people with mental illness and those infected with AIDS, but officials believe that there should be a "concentrated focus on chronic inebriates."

"Chronic inebriates" is of course liberalese for drunken bums. By making the country a worse place, they have established themselves as more equal than the other animals in the eyes of our bleeding heart rulers.

Entitled to free everything.

Comrade Obama Whines That He Needs Still More Vacation

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:06 AM

Working yourself into the ground to pay your confiscatory taxes? Don't feel bad, the Redistributor in Chief has to work hard too — or at least, he thinks he does:

It's often remarked that President Obama has enjoyed a number of getaways, vacations, and mini-vacations during his 20 months in office. But at a Democratic fundraiser Thursday night, the president said, "I'd appreciate a little break."

Evidently he's longing to vacation at the Italian palace of Linda Douglass, a former reporter for CBS and ABC who now works as a propagandist directly for the White House.

Although it has only been a few weeks since his last vacation, Obama must be tired from showing up for work as early as 9:00 am, only two hours later than W, who didn't have nearly as heavy a golf schedule.

Here's hoping the self-pitying Manchurian Moonbat takes as much time off from dismantling our country as possible.

Government Lets House Burn Down

Posted by Dave Blount at 6:57 PM

Why not trust government to seize control of the healthcare industry? We trust it to put out fires, don't we?

A local neighborhood is furious after firefighters watched as an Obion County, Tennessee, home burned to the ground.
The homeowner, Gene Cranick, said he offered to pay whatever it would take for firefighters to put out the flames, but was told it was too late. They wouldn't do anything to stop his house from burning.
Each year, Obion County residents must pay $75 if they want fire protection from the city of South Fulton. But the Cranicks did not pay.
The mayor said if homeowners don't pay, they're out of luck.

A private company would put out the fire promptly and then send Cranick a bill with a surcharge. To do otherwise would invite a public relations disaster. But the arrogance of our bureaucratic rulers grows with their power. Many are already too arrogant to worry about public relations disasters — or ObamaCare never would have been rammed through Congress by legislative trickery in open opposition to the public will.

BigFurHat: Progressives recently got a big kick out of the latest poll that says that a high percentage of Tea Party members actually believe Obama is a Muslim… ya… in fact, when this was announced at the Truther convention it got a huge laugh.

Diogenes Sarcastica: And I see the new Senator Al Franken is here. Al went to see the doctor the other day and the doc said he had to stop masturbating. Al asked why? The doctor said, "I'm trying to exam you."
Doug: Barney walked into the garage to pick up his car. The mechanic said, "sounds like you got something loose in your rear end." "Oh gwacious," said Barney, "Kevin called and said he couldn't find his watch this morning."
FreeMan Rodney: I sent a donation to Rahm for Mayor of Chicago, he sent two thugs with baseball bats to my door telling me they think I am holding out on them.
ginger: They say Joe Biden is going to step down to let Hillary Clinton run on the ticket with Obama in 2012. I call that a last bitch effort.
Hanoverfist: With friends like progressives, who needs enemas?

Javelina Bomb: They say Rahm Emanuel can't run for mayor of Chicago because he doesn't have a permanent address there. Well, I know a gay massage parlor that would disagree with that.
Melody: Libs' motto: If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
moth: I'm not saying Pelosi is old, but she queefed and we had a dust advisory for a week and a half.

San Francisco Mandates Breakfast Contents

Posted by Dave Blount at 2:42 PM

This is the level of totalitarian micromanagement businesses and their customers are already subjected to in the liberal dystopia of San Franfreakshow:

While all of the media buzz about San Francisco's assault on fast food restaurants has been focused on toys found in kids' meals, the Board of Supervisors last week decided to take a shot at regulating "breakfast items" marketed to adults, too.
According to a Sept. 27 amendment to the city's proposed Happy Meal toy ban ordinance, "a new category of items — breakfast items — are required to contain 0.5 cups of fruit. A Meal must now also contain whole grains where bread is part of the offering."
The amendment defines "Whole grains" as "Bread, such as a hamburger bun or other sandwhich, that is part of a Meal must be made with at least 50 percent whole wheat."

Surprisingly, they haven't yet passed a regulation regarding how many times you must chew each mouthful of government-mandated fruit before you can swallow.

Bill Clinton Wants to Dedicate Ground Zero Mosque to Muslims Who Died on 9/11

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:07 AM

I didn't think my opinion of Bill Clinton could get any lower. I was wrong:

Former President Bill Clinton strongly supports Park51, the mosque and community center planned near Ground Zero, he said in an interview posted on YouTube Sunday.

For Slick Willy, who has received massive amounts of money from Muslims, just building a victory mosque on the ashes of Americans killed by Islam isn't enough.

"Much or even most of the controversy … could have been avoided, and perhaps still can be, if the people who want to build the center were to simply say, 'We are dedicating this center to all the Muslims who were killed on 9/11,'" Clinton said.

You know, like Mohamed Atta.

John Conyers Has His License Suspended

The cognitively and ethically challenged Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee gets in trouble once again:

Veteran Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., says his driver's license was suspended because of a bounced $139 check for the renewal.
Conyers issued a written statement confirming a media report his license was suspended for about a month this summer while the mess was sorted out.

The streets were safer for awhile, with one fewer irresponsible imbecile on the road.

At least bouncing checks is a minor violation, not even on a par with stealing turkeys from a charity. Conyers won't be joining his wife in prison just yet.

National Science Foundation Wastes Our Money on Play Promoting Global Warming Hoax

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:06 AM

Because reality is not on their side, global warming hoaxers have been using art instead of science to advance their ideology. Fortunately for them, they have an endless supply of our money to do it with:

The National Science Foundation has awarded a $700,000 grant to the Civilians, a New York theater company, to finance the production of a show about climate change. "The Great Immensity," with a book by Steven Cosson ("This Beautiful City") and music and lyrics by Michael Friedman ("Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson"), tells the story of Polly, a photojournalist who disappears while working in the rain forests of Panama.

Maybe hoaxers should stick to splatter films.

The NSF supposedly spends our money on "science, engineering, and mathematics research and education," not on politically motivated fiction. But then, NASA was supposed to spend our money on the space program, not on sucking up to Muslims.

One of the many drawbacks of allowing Big Government to spend our money for us is that with moonbats in charge, it will inevitably be spent on moonbattery.

An immense waste of time and other people's money.

Due to ObamaCare, 3M Won't Provide Health Insurance to Retirees

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:07 AM

The damage from ObamaCare continues to unfold:

3M Co., citing new federal health laws, said Monday it won't cover retirees with its corporate health-insurance plan starting in 2013.
Instead, the company will direct retirees to Medicare-backed insurance programs, and will provide reimbursement for that coverage.

That would be the same Medicare that the Dems just cut by $500 billion to help pay for ObamaCare. Currently 3M has 23,000 retirees in the USA.

Here we see that ObamaCare is working as planned. It has two primary goals: 1) to take health insurance out of the hands of employers and 2) to drive insurance companies into bankruptcy with impossible demands. These objectives will herd us all into the arms of Big Government for medical care. The ultimate purpose is not providing healthcare or even spreading the wealth around, but exerting total control over the population.

The strategy of causing or fabricating a crisis situation, demonizing the private sector, then stepping in to nationalize has also worked well in the mortgage and automotive industries. Other sectors likely to be subjected to Obamunization include energy and agriculture. If the plan works, America will eventually be distinguishable from the Soviet Union only by its systematic discrimination against Caucasians.

California Welfare Money Wasted Outside the State

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:01 AM

"We have to sacrifice property rights to a massive government that confiscates and redistributes wealth," liberals bleat, as if completely unaware of churches, private charities, families, and friends, "because otherwise there will be no safety net." Nearly bankrupt California shows us the government safety net in action:

Thousands of documents show tens of millions of welfare dollars have been spent out of state, some at vacation resorts. …
A Los Angeles Times analysis found $69 million was spent outside state lines during a three and a half year period beginning in January 2007 at tourist destinations like Las Vegas, Hawaiian beaches and cruise ships in Florida. …
Benefits are deposited electronically onto welfare cards that are used like a debit card in stores or to withdraw cash at certain ATMs.
The Times analysis found nearly $12 million was spent in Las Vegas, $1.5 million in Florida, $387,908 in Hawaii, and $16,010 withdrawn from ATMs on cruise ships.

Unburdened by work requirements, welfare recipients have been taking extended vacations.

The state says accounts aren't normally flagged until out-of-state transactions continue for more than 30 days because recipients aren't supposed to be gone that long.

Most aren't that careful when spending other people's money. Consequently,

Another problem is when welfare recipients don't use certain ATMs, taxpayers pick up those extra fees. Last year, the state paid more than $11 million in ATM surcharges, and we'll likely surpass that this year because bank fees have gone up.

At least this should help stimulate the economy, according to the Keynesian theories so popular on the Left — just not the economy of the California taxpayers picking up the bill.

California is said to have one of the lowest fraud rates in the country, possibly because so many of its residents haven't bothered to master English, so the situation is probably worse in other states.

Here's a radical notion: rather than pass out free money cards, why not get the government boot off the neck of employers, so people have a chance to earn money instead of having bureaucrats steal it on their behalf?

California's free money card: good at casinos everywhere.

MSNBC's Great Lean Forward

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:07 PM

The difference between a communist and a liberal is that a communist shows the boldness to be straightforward about his ruinous statist objectives. Instead of striding boldly toward totalitarian hell, liberals usually take furtive half steps. For example, communist dictator Mao Zedong killed millions with his Great Leap Forward. The liberal weenies at MSNBC match this by nauseating millions with their hokey multiculti ad campaign featuring the slogan, Lean Forward:

Note that like their failed Messiah, they censored "by their Creator" from the reference to the Declaration of Independence.

The only way they could make their obeisance to Obama more obvious would be to change the slogan to Bend Over. But then, it may have been the Manchurian Moonbat who inspired the choice of Lean Forward:

Tell the Truth Trucks Lay Siege to Media Elite

Posted by Dave Blount at 3:49 PM

One day media elitists will look out the windows of their castles and see peasants gathering with torches and pitchforks. For now, they'll see trucks:

Four billboard trucks bearing the message "Stop the Liberal Bias, Tell the Truth!" began circling the Manhattan headquarters of ABC, CBS, NBC, and the New York Times on Friday. The trucks will do so for eight hours every weekday for the next four weeks as part of a campaign run by the Media Research Center, a watchdog group that analyzes the media for liberal bias.
Similar trucks also are operating in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, passing the offices of the broadcast networks, the Washington Post, CNN, the Newseum, the National Press Club and Politico, and ads about the campaign are running on numerous Web sites and on conservative talk radio programs. …
Concerning the billboard trucks in Manhattan, each side of one truck says, "Hey CBS, Stop the Liberal Bias, Tell the Truth!" and the back of the truck says, "Honk If You Don't Believe The Liberal Media." The other trucks bear the same message but directed at ABC, NBC, and the New York Times.
In Washington, D.C., there are also 12 delivery trucks with an identical message. But, as rented ad space, they will run their daily routes in the metro area. Six trucks are also scheduled to run in Denver, Colo.

After cramming the global warming hoax and the catastrophic farce of Hope & Change down our throats, our moonbat rulers in the misinformation industry will never again be able to pass off their pernicious ideology as objective reality.

Global Warming Art

Posted by Dave Blount at 1:42 PM

Global warming has been debunked, with a growing number of people aware that it hasn't gotten any warmer since 1998, that it wouldn't be a bad thing if it did get warmer, that human activity has no measurable effect on the climate, and that CO2 emissions are not only unavoidable but highly beneficial, as they make the crops grow. But as a Trojan horse for totalitarian collectivism, the hoax is too perfect for liberals to give up on just yet. Since reality isn't on their side, they are going straight for the emotions through art.

Geert Wilders on Trial for Opposing Islamization of Europe

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:26 AM

In the land famous for what liberals call "tolerance," a prominent politician is on trial for expressing popular opinions that conflict with official politically correct ideology:

Dutch anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders appealed for freedom of expression Monday as he went on trial for alleged hate speech at a time when his popularity and influence in the Netherlands are near all time highs. …
"Formally I'm on trial here today, but with me, the freedom of expression of many, many Dutch people is also being judged," he said, referring to more than 1.4 million voters who made his party the country's third-largest in June elections.

If convicted, he could get a year in jail for daring to advocate resisting the Islamic colonization of the Netherlands by limiting immigration.

The formal charges are insulting a group on the basis of its religion and inciting discrimination and/or hatred. …
Prosecutors were initially reluctant to bring Wilders' case to court, saying his remarks appeared directed toward Islam as an ideology rather than intended to insult Muslims as a group.
But they were eventually ordered to do so by a judge.

As in the USA, a coterie of leftist judges appears to be imposing a suicidal ideology on Holland. Reaganite Republican explains why Wilders's trial is important for Americans:

Because the true name of the game is Muslim intimidation of a divided, squabbling, and spineless West… while they — along with unwitting fifth-columnist morons of our Left — destroy the few brave individuals still actually willing to speak-out in our defense.

Muslims' campaign to destroy Western Civilization has been going on for 1,400 years. They would never succeed without help from our rulers. They're getting it. Investor's Business Daily provides insight into the mentality of our liberal ruling class:

When Wilders recently tried to visit Britain, he was denied entry. Ahmadinejad, on the other hand, who has repeatedly called for the death of the West, just last month was let into the U.S. to attend a United Nations confab and received warm applause for his hate-filled speech in which he accused the U.S. of staging 9/11.

Liberals in positions of authority in government and media have made it crystal clear that they would forbid criticism of their Muslim allies, and that they will go out of their way to advance the agenda of expansionist Islam, as with their appalling support for the Ground Zero mosque obscenity.

Centuries of Islamic aggression brought the barbarians no farther than the Gates of Vienna. With the assistance of liberals, they are more of a threat to the West's existence than ever before.

Hip Hop Curriculum Teaches Kids to Hate Great American Presidents

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:06 AM

Children are now taught not to admire the heroes who built this country, but to hate them. This is what public schools are degenerating into:

Concern over a new hip-hop curriculum that refers to the founding fathers as "old dead white men" has delayed the program's rollout for at-risk students, Oklahoma City Public Schools Superintendent Karl Springer said. …
Known as Flocabulary, the program is a music-based educational tool that uses raps, rhythms and rhymes to help students learn and memorize everything from vocabulary and English to math and social studies.

More appalling even than the medium is the message:

One of the rap songs — "Old Dead White Men" — chronicles the shortcomings of the early leaders in the United States.
Of President James Monroe's tenure, the rap says: "White men getting richer than Enron./ They stepping on Indians, women and blacks./ Era of Good Feeling doesn't come with the facts."
That's followed up by an assessment of President Andrew Jackson's checkered dealings with American Indians.
"Andrew Jackson, thinks he's a tough guy./ Killing more Indians than there are stars in the sky./ Evil wars of Florida killing the Seminoles./ Saying hello, putting Creek in the hell holes./ Like Adolf Hitler he had the final solution./ 'No, Indians, I don't want you to live here anymore.'"

This corrosive propaganda is deliberately targeted toward "at-risk" students, i.e., those who are already alienated from society and most susceptible to anti-American moonbattery.

Flocabulary CEO and co-founder Alex Rappaport said the lyrics are made intentionally provocative and sometimes humorous to create student engagement among some of the toughest-to-reach students in the nation.

When you hear the word "provocative" from moonbats, that means they are attempting to get away with something outrageous.

Naturally taxpayers are forced to finance this insanity:

The Oklahoma City School District has spent about $10,000 so far on the music and corresponding textbooks, Springer said. The Oklahoma City School Board authorized the district to spend up to $97,000 in federal funds on the program.

What will become of our country if reverence for our history, our great presidents, and the principles on which this nation was built are not passed on to the next generation? America will die.

George Schultz Observes That Obama Is Out of His Mind

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:13 AM

At least by this point we can dispense with the charade that Obama is even remotely competent to hold his position. Former Secretary of State George Schultz certainly has:

Reagan-era Secretary of State George Shultz blasted President Obama Monday night for his scheduled July 2011 date to begin withdrawing U.S. forces from Afghanistan. …
"You're out of your mind," he said at a question-and-answer forum, when asked his opinion of the president's drawdown date. "How can you say that 'if I haven't won by six or nine months from now, I'm leaving?'"

Obviously, if you had any desire to win the conflict, you would not. Knowing that they will soon be abandoned, those who might otherwise resist the Taliban will give up the fight. The Taliban itself would not dream of giving up, when they know that all they have to do is wait out the clock for a few months and the country is theirs again, just like it was on September 11, 2001.

Unfortunately, Obama is worse than crazy. He's motivated by a crazy ideology, according to which Americans will always be the bad guys. No one familiar with Obama's background would expect him to take our country's side. He is losing the war on purpose, as feared by his opponents and hoped by his supporters.

Taxpayer-Funded Public Museum Features Blasphemous Pornography

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:16 AM

Since even criticizing Islamic terrorism is forbidden in the ultra-PC art world lest it be perceived as insufficiently obsequious toward Islam, artists have to find other avenues of expression — for example, depicting Jesus Christ in depraved sex acts:

Enrique Chagoya's "The Misadventures of the Romantic Cannibals," created in 2003, is a multipanel piece in which "cultural and religious icons are presented with humor and placed in contradictory, unexpected and sometimes controversial contexts," the artist's publisher, Shark's Ink, said on its website.
The lithograph, on display since Sept. 11 at the tax-funded Loveland Museum Gallery in Loveland, Colo., is part of an 82-print exhibit by 10 artists who have worked with Colorado printer Bud Shark. It includes several images of Jesus, including one in which he appears to be receiving oral sex from a man as the word "orgasm" appears beside Jesus' head.
…the artist, a professor at Stanford University, said he was simply making a statement on problems he sees with religious institutions, including the sex-abuse scandal in the Roman Catholic church.

Chagoya and his supporters screech with tediously predictable self-righteousness about the First Amendment. However, it doesn't say anything in the Constitution about a right to steal money from taxpayers and use it to expose children to blasphemous and sickening homosexual pornography in a public museum. Needless to say, the First Amendment would not apply if any artists had the guts to depict Mohammad in an unflattering light.

Spanish Men Entitled to Time Off for Breastfeeding

Posted by Dave Blount at 6:54 AM

The good news is that in countries run by moonbats, unless you're running a business, you're entitled to pretty much anything you can imagine. The bad news is that if you are running a business, doling out these absurd entitlements on behalf of Big Government won't leave you in a position to hire many people. The latest insanity from nearly bankrupt Spain:

Europe's top court has declared that working fathers in Spain are entitled to take 'breastfeeding leave' every day, even if the mother of the child is not employed. …
Fathers are currently only allowed to apply for breastfeeding leave if the mother is employed full time. …
Not giving dads the same right as mums in this case "is liable to ... keep men in a role subsidiary to that of women in relation to the exercise of their parental duties," the court ruled.

Think how many demented laws could be avoided if more liberals knew enough biology to be aware of the differences between men and women.

Stulman is surprised that the same moonbats who would support the right of Nazis to march in Skokie, Illinois do not support the right to criticize the historical allies of Nazis. He still has some learning to do regarding liberalism.

DHS Mission: Wealth Redistribution

Posted by Dave Blount at 3:51 PM

Under Obama, the primary purpose of NASA is to help Muslims feel good about their nonexistent for centuries scientific accomplishments. What do you suppose the purpose of the Department of Homeland Security might be? Comrade Obama gave the answer to Joe the Plumber: to spread the wealth around.

The Department of Homeland Security, the federal agency created by President George W. Bush to keep the nation safe from terrorists, also spends millions of taxpayer dollars helping hungry and homeless people in "communities impacted by unemployment."
DHS announced on Thursday that it has handed out $2.6 billion in stimulus funding since President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) into law on Feb. 17, 2009.
Nearly $100 million of that money was distributed through the Emergency Food and Shelter Program to more than 10,450 local organizations across the country to provide "immediate relief to communities impacted by unemployment."

Why are so many impacted by unemployment? Because Big Government has sucked all the money out of the economy to pay for wasteful "stimulus" projects.

At least passing out our money provides a pastime for the useless bureauweenies at DHS while they are assiduously not defending the border from constant incursions.

Finally Big Sis has a way to spend her time.

Polar Bear Hunting

Posted by Dave Blount at 1:36 PM

A trendy sport in our new post-racial America is called polar bear hunting:

What is 'polar bear hunting'?
It's a racist assault by blacks (mostly young men) on whites (mostly men of any age). Most often it involves more than one attacker on a lone victim, and usually from behind with no warning.
In the Champaign, Ill. area "the number of reports of beatings to white men in Champaign appear to be coming in quicker than police can even process them."
The most recent attack was this past Friday night on a lone man walking home after a high school football game.

One polar bear hunter denies there's anything racist about assaulting white people, and expresses concern that somebody could get hurt if Whitey pulls a gun.

Here's a list of national media reports on this alarming phenomenon:

There, that's all I could find after a quick search with Google News.

The moral of the story can be summed up in two words: concealed carry.

Now this kind of polar bear hunting would earn liberals' noisy disapproval.

Britain Plunges Headlong Into Totalitarianism With Equality Act

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:31 AM

There will be no more telling jokes on the job in Britain. Humor is a luxury reserved for free countries, not places like Airstrip One under the totalitarian Equality Act:

The legislation, championed by Labour's deputy leader Harriet Harman, introduces a bewildering range of rights which allow staff to sue for almost any perceived offence they receive in the workplace.
It creates the controversial legal concept of 'third party harassment', under which workers will be able to sue over jokes and banter they find offensive — even if the comments are aimed at someone else and they weren't there at the time the comments were made.
They can sue if they feel the comments 'violate their dignity' or create an 'intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment'.
A one-off incident is enough to sue — there is no need for the 'victim' to have warned the perpetrator that their comments are unwelcome.
They could even have a case against their employer if a customer or contractor says something they find offensive.

Basically this means that jokes, office banter, and expressing opinions are now forbidden at British workplaces. What a grim, pointlessly repressive world liberals are imposing.

Typically of liberal policies, the economic side effects will be disastrous:

[B]usiness leaders warned that the equality laws could derail Britain's economic recovery, with fears that employers will face a tidal wave of trivial discrimination claims.

Other lunatic aspects of the legislation include forbidding employers to inquire about the health of potential hires, and allowing employees to claim "discrimination by association" if they are so much as related to a member of a privileged special interest group like a homosexual. Businesses will be subject to "employment tribunals" with terrifying powers to order expensive changes in the workplace to advance progressive social engineering objectives. Managers can be forced to undergo brainwashing sessions to ensure ideological conformity. Employers are now required to waste resources publishing "gender pay audits." Public sector employers must promote "equality" proactively, i.e., meet quotas for privileged groups like Muslims, non-Caucasians, etc.

At a certain point, a country either rebels forcefully or admits that it has died.

It's just as bleak as Orwell predicted.

Bakery May Be Evicted for Not Endorsing Homosexual Depravity

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:06 AM

Rule by moonbats means it's not enough to refrain from saying anything negative about disgusting and lethal disease-spreading sexual perversions. When called upon to participate in the promotion of depravity, you had better comply:

An Indianapolis cookie shop could be evicted from its longtime location for refusing a special order from a college homosexual group.
The bakery "Just Cookies" has operated in a city-owned market for over 20 years. The president of the board that oversees the market told the Indianapolis Star that he would "hate to lose them" as a tenant — but that could very well happen because owner David Stockton took a moral stand and did not want to endorse homosexual activity.
Controversy arose this week after the owners of the bakery cited moral objections to a special-order request for rainbow-decorated cookies for next week's "National Coming Out Day" observance at a nearby university campus. Stockton told the caller he did not feel comfortable in supporting homosexual values, especially because it would not set a good example for his two daughters.
Micah Clark of the American Family Association of Indiana says there are reports the city might evict Stockton, citing a local "anti-discrimination" statute.

No one who has read 1984 will be surprised to see that "anti-discrimination" statutes are used to discriminate against groups liberals don't like, such as those who are guided by morality rather than politically correct decrees from our ruling class.

Once again we see that government ownership means a government boot grinding down on our faces.

Osama bin Laden Endorses Global Warming Hoax

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:17 AM

America's enemies may be deluded fools, but at least they're all on the same page.

Osama bin Laden … called for action against climate change in what appeared to be a new audio tape from the al-Qaida leader issued on Friday in an Islamist forum. …
"The huge climate change is affecting our (Islamic) nation and is causing great catastrophes throughout the Islamic world," he says in the tape. "It is not sufficient anymore to maintain the same relief efforts as previously, as it has become crucial to deliver tents, food and medicine." …
Bin Laden urged a big transformation in how relief work is executed, calling the number of victims of climate change much bigger than the victims of war.

After convincing yourself that a bloodthirsty pedophile warlord from the 6th century was a mouthpiece for God, swallowing the global warming hoax is a cinch.

If the climate change farce didn't jump the shark with the 10:10 Global video, it did with bin Laden's endorsement.

Hatem Abudayyeh, Subject of Terror Probe, Visited White House

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:21 AM

What a surprise: pro-Palestinian radical Hate 'em Abudayyeh has marched in the parade of lowlife that has been beating a trail to the White House door during its occupation by an America-loathing leftist.

Grand Marshall of the parade is #1 visitor Andy Stern, who recently stepped down abruptly as head of the extremely unsavory SEIU and is reportedly facing an FBI investigation. Also on the list is Malik Shabazz, who happened to visit just as the Injustice Department/New Black Panthers voter intimidation scandal began to boil over; but according to the government, it's some other, otherwise unidentified Malik Shabazz, not the head of the Black Panthers.

Now Abudayahoo:

Hatem Abudayyeh, who serves as executive director of the Arab-American Action Network, took part in a meeting for Arab-American leaders held in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on April 22, according to appointment data posted on the White House website.
"He attended a briefing held by the Office of Public Engagement on April 22, 2010, to update members of the Arab-American community on issues of their concern," White House spokesman Shin Inouye said.

Here's an issue of concern: Abudabadooyeh is under investigation by the FBI for his ties to Islamic terrorism. As noted earlier, this isn't the first time he's been connected with the Manchurian Moonbat:

The Arab American Action Network was founded by former PLO operative and close Obama family friend Rashid Khalidi. Obama was a director of the Woods Fund from 1994 through 2001, when the board approved a $40,000 grant to the Arab American Action Network.

This could be the worst legal strategy I've heard yet:

High-level contacts between politically active Arab-American leaders and White House officials have stirred controversy in the past after the activists became caught up in terrorism-related probes. In some cases, defense attorneys for those charged have sought to use their White House visits to undermine the prosecution's assertions that the individuals were dangerous.

Who is their lawyer, Gloria Allred? Obama has been associated with terrorists for literally his entire political career. Visiting the Moonbat Messiah is hardly an indication of a suspected terrorist's innocence.

Hate 'em shrieks the kind of thoughts that go through our president's brain.

Congratulations to the Cincinnati Reds for making the playoffs for the first time in 15 years. But next time you celebrate, try not to behave as if this were still a free country:

The Cincinnati Reds decided to celebrate their first playoff berth since 1995 by lighting up victory cigars in their clubhouse after defeating the Houston Astros 3-2 on Sunday night. Now they're being investigated by the Health Department for violating Ohio's statewide smoking ban.
If that weren't bad enough, the Reds' own fans are the ones who reported them.

Climate Change: The Final Solution

Posted by Dave Blount at 5:30 PM

Even moonbats realize that only eliminating thought criminals who fail to conform to their ideology is not going to effect a measurable change in CO2 levels, much less affect the temperature. According to Bill Gates, the environmentalist agenda calls for preventing people from generating any harmless CO2 whatsoever — and there's only one way to do that.

By now you've probably seen the 10:10 Global environmentalist splatterfilm, despite the outfit's attempts to suppress its own handiwork on YouTube:

Obviously this doesn't go far enough — thus the Final Solution:

Commies Converge on Capital

Yesterday moonbats held a me-too One Nation rally in response to Glenn Beck's massively successful Restoring Honor gathering. Despite prodigious astroturfing efforts by Comrade Obama's Big Union supporters, who bused in whole herds of leftist drones, and backing from a lengthy list of leftist organizations (including the Stalinist ANSWER, the openly treasonous Code Pink, the massive teacher's union NEA, and a wide assortment of unsavory outfits like the National Center for Transgender Equality), the event was no Restoring Honor rally. Compliments of Dan F:

Here's an original video report, compliments of Mega:

More video, underscoring the totalitarian collectivist leanings of the participants:

A massive caravan of buses brought in the union drones. Via Doug Ross:

Other "grassroots activists" arrived in higher style. Compliments of Mega:

Attendance was poor enough that CSPAN was reportedly reduced to using a picture from Glenn Beck's bigger crowd.

Absurdly, MSNBC tried to equate the moonbat mob with the Tea Party movement:

Tapping into the same anger that fuels the tea party movement, a coalition of progressive and civil rights groups marched Saturday on the Lincoln Memorial and pledged to support Democrats struggling to keep power on Capitol Hill.

The same anger? The Tea Party is angry that socialists are attempting to destroy America, and the One Nation kooks are in a funk because they might not be able to get away with it.

Unsurprisingly, the speakers wallowed in liberals' favorite indulgence, projection. Here the explosively anti-American Harry Belafonte denounces the Tea Party for threatening the very Constitution it defends against his own kind (via Weasel Zippers):

At least they did something to stimulate jobs. There will never be a shortage of career opportunities in the field of trash removal so long as liberals gather publicly:

While they were there, moonbats took the opportunity to honor vets at the WWII memorial, after their porcine fashion, by strewing garbage:

More video of the mess the moonbats made:

For contrast, here's what it looked like after the much larger Beck rally:

The Daily Beast summed up the moonbat fest like this:

The stated intention of the One Nation rally was to promote an "antidote" rather than just a left-wing "alternative to the Tea Party," according to NAACP President Benjamin Jealous. The reality fell far short of that unifying goal.
Instead, the rally offered a snapshot of the fragile coalition that is the contemporary far left — a dizzying array of activist organizations and identity politics, with financial muscle provided by the labor unions who bused their members in.
Speakers like [Red Ed] Schultz, Jesse Jackson, and Van Jones are stars in this crowd. But for all the chanting about how "the people, united, will never be divided," this turnout was small, and suffering from an enthusiasm gap compared to the conservative populists who crowded the mall a month ago for Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" Rally.

The coalition is fragile, all right. It will take more than hatred of America to make for a lasting marriage between homicidally puritan Muslims and the aggressively depraved LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) lobby. Via Looking at the Left:

Bill Gates: Life on Earth Must End

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:08 AM

Bill Gates may be a genius when it comes to computers, but he is a gibbering idiot regarding buying into the debunked global warming hoax — either that or he is evil and insane. Here the world's richest nerd calls for "improvements" in healthcare and vaccines that will lower the human population by 1 billion so as to lower emissions of harmless CO2:

Killing 1 billion with sinister anti-life vaccines won't be enough, according to Gates's demented assertion that CO2 emissions must be reduced to zero lest the weather improve. Since all animals exhale CO2, and all plants give it off when they decay, this means Gates is calling for an end to all life on earth.

The purpose would be to lock the climate in place so that for the first time ever it won't vary. Too bad no one will be here to see whether it works.

Democrats have driven us to the edge of a cliff and show every intention of shoving us off into ruin. At this point, how do they find anyone willing to support them? Here's how:

Even Barney Frank Is Vulnerable

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:12 AM

Among the vilest of our moonbat rulers is Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank, who is up to his neck in the ongoing Fanny/Freddy scandal that continues to wreak havoc on the economy, who played a key roll in the recent financial overhaul power grab, and whose male sex partner once ran a homosexual prostitution service out of Frank's apartment. As Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Frank is as powerful as he is repulsive. Not long ago, it seemed nothing could dislodge him, so reliably liberal are Massachusetts voters. But after two years of Obama, the game is changing.

The 14-term incumbent Frank is only 10 points ahead of Republican Sean Bielat, whom 43% of the voters have never even heard of. The impeached degenerate whom Democrats regard as their heaviest hitter, Bill Clinton, has taken time to campaign for Frank, a sure indication that Dems are worried.

Fwank's challenger sounds like a class A candidate:

Bielat is 35 years old, a Marine who spent four years on active duty and is now a major in the Reserve. He's a graduate of Georgetown University with a master's from Harvard and an MBA from Wharton. He's devoted a good portion of his professional life to manufacturing the high-tech robots that defuse improvised explosive devices in Iraq and Afghanistan. In other words, he's a serious man.

Possibly because of his experience with bombs, Bielat is ready to grasp the nettle and address the runaway entitlement spending that keeps ticking away, ready to unleash total devastation on the economy when it inevitably explodes.

Of course, Frank has vastly more money. But even this race is competitive if Bielat can raise enough funds to get his face in front of enraged voters.

There's no need for conservatives to cut their own wrists by supporting allegedly more electable RINOs. As the disastrous farce of Hope & Change collapses, hardly any conservatives are unelectable anywhere.

Imagine replacing Bonnie Fwank with a patriot like Sean Bielat.

Mexicans Kill American, Fire on His Wife in American Waters

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:31 AM

How bad will it have to get before we rise up and replace the gang of looters in Washington with a legitimate federal government that will defend our borders from foreign incursions? Hopefully it won't have to get any worse than this:

Gunmen presumed to be Mexican drug gangsters opened fire Wednesday on a couple riding personal watercraft on the binational Falcon Lake reservoir, striking the husband in the head and chasing his frantic wife into U.S. waters.
Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez said the McAllen tourists were exploring the area around Old Guerrero, a once-submerged town on the Mexican side of the lake, when they came under a spray of bullets by two boatloads of men.
David Michael Hartley, 30, was shot in the head. His wife, Tiffany Hartley, 29, circled back to pull her husband onto the watercraft, using it as a shield, but the gunmen continued shooting at her, even after she crossed back to the U.S. side, Gonzalez said. …
He said an independent witness corroborated the attack and its incursion into U.S. waters.
"He saw where the Mexican boats were still chasing her, and I'm not talking just a few feet, I'm talking half a mile, maybe even a mile into the United States. They were chasing her," Gonzalez said.
"They have no regard for international boundaries. They've got no regard for law enforcement. They don't care," he added. "The border's wide open. Contrary to what Secretary (Janet) Napolitano says, the border's wide open."

Mexican pirates often prey on Americans on Falcon Lake. Sometimes they are dressed as Mexican law enforcement officers. Texas had better not do anything about it, or the Obama Administration will unleash a flurry of lawsuits on behalf of the invaders, like it did in Arizona.

Maybe DHS should put up some signs declaring this no-go territory.

Feds Force New York to Waste $Millions on New Signs

Self-Induced Decline and Fall

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:24 AM

Even at a record high, investors say gold is a good deal — because unlike the dollar, liberals aren't able to destroy its value:

The US supremacy as the top world economy will end sooner than many people believe, so gold is a better investment than the dollar despite it hitting a new record, Tom Winnifrith, CEO at financial services firm Rivington Street Holdings, told…
The US trade deficit and debt continue to grow and the authorities are reluctant to address the problem, preferring to print money, Winnifrith said.
"America is practically owned by China," he said.
He reminded of the fact that in 1900, sterling was the world's reserve currency but by 1948, that was no longer the case as the British Empire collapsed.
"America is doing what Britain did," Winnifrith said. "America spends much more than it can afford and it's not addressing the issue. …
"The decline of empires has happened much faster than folks think. I believe that gold will be a far better bet in 20 years than the dollar," he added.

Because America has made catastrophically poor decisions, most notably in the 2008 elections, other countries will soon be making our decisions for us. Our hands won't be on the wheel anymore when China and India become the dominant economies.

Liberals wanted to bring America down for being "arrogant." By spending us toward collapse, they are succeeding. We'll see if it makes for a better world.
