Totalitarian Van Jones Accuses Tea Party of Totalitarianism

Posted by Dave Blount at 2:17 PM

Admitted totalitarian Van Jones — the self-avowed communist to whom Obama entrusted $60 billion of our money to create "green jobs" that never materialized — has pushed liberals' tendency to project their sins onto others to the last possible extreme of absurdity. Like all leftists, Jones hates the Tea Party movement for advocating smaller government, that is, more individual liberty. Here's how he denounces it:

If you think things are bad now, what will happen when the people who are screaming and yelling at these Tea Party events are actually in charge of your government, and in charge of your life, and in charge of your kids' future? … I don't think you want the Tea Party running your community, running your family, running your government.

This almost sounds like an acknowledgment that controlling other people's private lives is not good. Unfortunately, it's only more of the Orwellian nonsense that passes for thought on the left. Since the slavery of communism is freedom, according to their ideology, liberty must be a form of coercion.

By the way, whatever happened to that $60 billion, now that Glenn Beck's exposés have forced Jones out of his job?

Britain's Socialized Medicine Turns Its Back on WWII Vet

Posted by Dave Blount at 1:11 PM

Imagine the horror of helping save Britain from the Nazis, only to see it destroyed by socialists from within. Here's the thanks you would get for your service:

At 18 he joined the RAF to defend his country in the Second World War.
Shot down in 1944, the rear gunner had to parachute out of his Lancaster bomber and endured a year as a prisoner of war in Germany.
Today, former RAF sergeant Bernard Warren has just weeks to live, suffering from cancer of the stomach, liver and lungs and dementia.
But despite the severity of the 86-year-old's condition, the NHS has refused to meet the full cost of his care, saying he does not 'tick enough boxes'.

Under Britain's system, if the NHS bureaunazis won't pay for it, you're usually out of luck, because taxes don't leave enough income to pay for your own care, even when this is permitted.

The government has gotten all it will get from him. Now it's time for him to die, preferably as quickly and inexpensively as possible.

Nancy Pelosi's Negative Rating Same as BP's

Five months of frenzied demonization since the Deepwater Horizon spill has not been enough to drive Obama's crony capitalist financiers at BP to negative ratings any worse than House Speaker Nasty Pelousy's. According to a WSJ/NBC News poll, they both stand at a surprisingly low 50%.

Karl Marx Wrote the Democrat Platform

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:23 AM

Karl Marx had a 10-point program for transitioning from wealth and freedom to hand-to-mouth totalitarian hell:

1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants [those who try to escape the country] and rebels.
5. Centralisation of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
6. Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State.
7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
8. Equal liability of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.
10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labour in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, &c, &c.

If there are any of these you don't find easy to connect with what's going on under Obama, refer to Doug Ross for help.

Today's liberal is nothing more nor less than an incremental communist who operates by stealth.

What progressives are progressing toward: corpses in a Soviet gulag (from a site Moonbattery does not endorse).

Closer Links Found Between Obama and Houston Vote Fraud Operation

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:08 AM

The massive vote fraud recently uncovered in Houston was immediately linked to Obama's close allies at the SEIU. As it turns out, the connection with the Manchurian Moonbat is even closer.

Remember Maria Isabel, the Obama campaign worker with a penchant for Che Guevara flags? She's active in recruiting for the corrupt SEIU-affiliated election fraud outfit Houston Votes.

Isabel also invited the phony doctor who testified to the glories of collectivism at a Sheila Jackson Lee town hall meeting prior to the imposition of ObamaCare. Like the doctor-impersonating Roxana Mayer, Isabel is a long-time activist with Obama's own personal version of ACORN, Organizing for America.

Cheating and deception come naturally to Obamunists. We had better have grownups in positions of authority prior to the 2012 elections, or Obama's minions will make them a farce worthy of a banana republic.

Maria Isabel with the next best thing to Che Guevara.

As Goes Michigan, So Goes the Nation

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:54 AM

Obamunism is one lousy movie we don't have to endure to the end to know how it turns out. Putting moonbats in charge of the economy has already been tried in Michigan, where Canadian-born, Berkeley-trained Jennifer Granholm — a member of Obama's economic advisory team — has harnessed the economy to the liberal troika of taxes, spending, and regulation. Here's how it's turning out:

[Michigan's] median household income fell by more than $12,000 over the last decade — the equivalent of trimming $1,000 from a family's monthly budget.
The drop was stunning in both its size and its singularity: No other state came close to losing the estimated 21.3 percent of its median income between 2000 and 2009, and no state endured the 6.5 percent drop seen from 2008 to 2009.

Not to worry, Governor Granholm will make everything better:

Granholm, speaking Tuesday at a conference on manufacturing in Washington, D.C., said Michigan was creating more than 60,000 new jobs through green programs — many partially funded by federal grants.

One day the federal government will stop propping her up with other states' money for chimerical "green jobs." Fortunately for Granholm, she should be out of office by then.

Not who you want on your president's economic advisory team.

EPA Poised to Throw 800,000 Out of Work

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:44 AM

Our liberal rulers are doing everything they can about the jobs situation — that is, everything they can to make it worse.

The top Republican on a Senate environmental panel released a scathing report Tuesday that he contends shows that the Environmental Protection Agency's new proposed rule on cleaning up boilers nationwide could devastate America's manufacturing base and imperil hundreds of thousands of jobs without providing any real public health or environmental benefits.
In June, the EPA issued a proposal that would force industrial, commercial and institutional boilers and heaters to use "maximum achievable control technology" to reduce harmful emissions that erode air quality and pose a public health risk.
The proposed rule covers industrial boilers used in manufacturing, processing, mining, refining and commercial boilers used in malls, laundries, apartments, restaurants and hotels, the report from Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma reads.

The EPA claims this will save us from all manner of poisons and diseases. Others say that the only significant effects will be economic — and they will be severe.

[T]he Inhofe report — written by the Senate Environment and Public Works minority staff titled and titled "EPA's Anti-Industrial Policy: Threatening Jobs and America's Manufacturing Base," — found that the proposed rule, known as "Boiler MACT," could put nearly 800,000 jobs at risk over requirements on commercial and industrial boilers, cement plans and ozone standards.

The standards the EPA wants to impose are so unnecessarily stringent that meeting them would be extravagantly expensive. According to the report, the Industrial Energy Consumers of America is "enormously concerned that the high costs of this proposed rule will leave companies no recourse but to shut down the entire facility, not just the boiler."

That's fine with our rulers. According to their ideology, the less economically productive activity, the happier the polar bears. More importantly, the more people are deliberately thrown out of work, the more will think they need a free crutch from the very government that broke their legs.

The boiler bushwhack is only part of our government's war on prosperity:

The report also warned that the agency in the coming months is expected to propose, and in some cases finalize, job-killing standards for cooling water intake structures at power plants; national ambient air quality for dust and particulate matter; and maximum achievable control technologies for coal-fired power plants.
"In short, the cumulative effect of EPA's air rules will negatively affect growth energy prices, jobs, innovation and domestic manufacturing competitiveness," the report reads.

Good thing we can vote these lunatics out of office in November. But wait: the EPA is composed of unelected bureaucrats.

This is why the most intolerably destructive aspects of the Obama agenda — Cap & Tax, amnesty for illegal aliens — are not being pursued by elected representatives anymore, but are being imposed quietly by faceless, unaccountable regulators.

As for the Regulator in Chief, who we can't get at through the polls until he's had another two years to collapse the economy:

President Obama repeated in an interview released Tuesday that energy policy remains one of his top priorities, and he will throw the weight of his office behind energy policy regulations in the same way he did for the new health care law.
"We're going to stay on this because it is good for our economy, it's good for our national security and, ultimately, it's good for our environment," the president is quoted saying in the Tiger Beat Rolling Stone magazine interview.

It will be the work of generations to undo the bureaucratic behemoth Obama is building up into something that would make Godzilla turn tail and run — assuming America lasts that long.

The press digs deep into Obama's ruinous policies.

Lawyer Swarm Devours British Schools

Posted by Dave Blount at 5:24 PM

If misery loves company, we ought to be happy that at least we aren't the only society getting bled to the point of anemia by useless yet voraciously greedy trial lawyers. In Britain, they are going after schools like a swarm of the locusts they so closely resemble.

Official figures just published show that ten successful legal claims are being mounted every week in schools, with parents and pupils often gaining hefty cash payouts as a result of threats to sue over even the most minor grievances. In one case, a Doncaster pupil was awarded £2,000 after being exposed to bright light during a science experiment. In another case, a Surrey pupil was awarded £29,000 after he said he had suffered burns from sitting on a hot radiator. …
Only too typical was the £35,000 handed over to a pupil from Poole in Dorset, who hurt himself while performing the high jump, a settlement which makes a mockery of the very concept of competitive sport.
In the same fashion, a PE teacher from my home county of Kent recently told me that one of his pupils had been awarded £1,200 after his parents threatened the school with legal action over a minor ankle injury that occurred on the football field. The boy's foot was not broken or even sprained, yet the head teacher decided that a settlement would be less costly than fighting the action through the courts.

Another favorite tactic is to loot schools for failing to prevent alleged past bullying, a term that can be applied to almost any interaction between children.

Lured by the siren song of something at somebody else's expense, kids' parents aren't the only ones lawyering up for a free ride.

Teachers themselves are getting in on the act, infected by the compensation virus. One Merseyside teacher was awarded £80,000 after she slipped and fell while walking between school buildings… Similarly, a music teacher from the south-west received £40,000 for an injury to her wrist which occurred when a door blew shut on a windy day. … Some teachers are taking legal action over claims they have been traumatised by the stress of dealing with unruly pupils.

Desperate schools have canceled recess, and replaced competitive sports with yoga class. But attempts to ward off lawyers by producing a suffocatingly risk-free environment only backfire:

The more head teachers and education bureaucrats try to avoid litigation by taking preventative action, such as banning geography trips or competitive sports, the more they play into the hands of the lawyers and the litigants.
This is because, in effect, they are admitting responsibility for every accident, every setback, that takes place on their premises. So the culture of litigation creates its own self-fulfilling cycle.

If not stopped, lawyers will eat everything in sight, bankrupting everyone in an impossible quest to satiate their pathological greed.

The solution can be found in American history. Once Western settlers lived in terror of locusts. But as the wild land was tamed, swamps were drained ("wetlands" in Liberalese), robbing the locusts of their breeding grounds.

Likewise, lawyers breed in swamps — located in places like Washington and London — where they slither and slip in a morass of campaign cash kicked back from ligation looting sprees.

One prime factor is the introduction of 'no-win, no-fee' litigation by the last Labour government, which, of course, was full of lawyers such as Tony Blair and Jack Straw.
Before this change, litigants had to take the risk that, if they lost their case, they would end up paying all the legal costs of any action, including those of the defendant. But many believe that 'no-win, no-fee' liberates them from the consequences of losing and therefore encourages irresponsibility.

Only by draining these swamps thoroughly can we return from moonbattery to sanity.

Lawyers devouring someone else's property.

United Nations Prepares to Greet Space Aliens

Posted by Dave Blount at 2:34 PM

When the United Nations isn't denouncing America, cooking up phony climate "research," or scheming to impose a collectivist world government, it tends to more constructive matters — like preparing a diplomatic mission for aliens from outer space. No, I'm not kidding:

Mazlan Othman, a Malaysian astrophysicist, is set to be tasked with co-ordinating humanity's response if and when extraterrestrials make contact.
Aliens who landed on earth and asked: "Take me to your leader" would be directed to Mrs Othman.
She will set out the details of her proposed new role at a Royal Society conference in Buckinghamshire next week. …
Mrs Othman is currently head of the UN's little known Office for Outer Space Affairs (Unoosa).

Let's hope the aliens don't send down any children. We could have an intergalactic incident if they get raped by UN peacekeepers.

Oh, It Was a Different Malik Shabazz

Posted by Dave Blount at 12:47 PM

Numero Uno White House visitor and current subject of an FBI investigation Andy Stern isn't the only extremely unsavory character to find a welcome reception in the Oval Office. As the Justice Department's squashing of the voter intimidation case against the New Black Panthers came to a boil, the group's Racist Maniac in Chief Malik Shabazz was visiting the Manchurian Moonbat. Via Big Government, here's the timeline:

• July 8, Representative Frank Wolf sent a letter to Judiciary Chairman John Conyers and Ranking Member Lamar Smith demanding hearings before the House Judiciary Committee.
• July 9, Ten members of the House sent a letter demanding the DOJ Inspector General open an investigation.
• July 13, The Dept. of Justice replied but their letter contained factual inaccuracies about the case.
• July 17 Smith and Wolf send a swift and pointed rebuttal.
• July 20, Low-level DOJ staffers were sent to the Hill to brief Wolf on the Panther story, but Wolf threw them out of his office claiming they weren't being truthful to him.
• July 22, Wolf sent another letter to Attorney General Eric Holder demanding answers.
• July 24, Portia Robinson, intergovernmental liaison at DOJ, sent a letter to the Civil Rights Commission trying to deflect attention.
• July 25, a man named Malik Shabazz visited the exclusive, private residence in the White House.
• July 30, the Washington Times broke the news that top political appointee, Tom Perrelli (the #3 official at Justice) was involved in the dismissal of the case. Perrelli was also a top campaign bundler for Obama.

Wait: the White House claims this was some other Malik Shabazz. Thanks to the "transparency" that characterizes the Obama Regime, we may never know for sure.

Here's Shabazz admitting to the voter intimidation tactics that the Injustice Department doggedly refuses to prosecute because only white people can be racists:

Chicago Terror Sweep Turns Up More Maniacs Linked to Obama

Obama Ally Hatem Abudayyeh Investigated for Terror Ties

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:00 AM

The boom just keeps coming down on Obama allies. Radical "peace activist" Hatem Abudayyeh of the Arab American Action Network has had his Chicago home raided by the FBI in a terror sweep.

Chicago activist Thomas Burke said he was served a grand jury subpoena that requested records of any payments to Abudayyeh or his group. "The warrants are seeking evidence in support of an ongoing Joint Terrorism Task Force investigation into activities concerning the material support of terrorism," said Steve Warfield, spokesman for the FBI in Minneapolis, where six additional homes were searched Friday.

What's this got to do with Imam Obama?

The Arab American Action Network was founded by former PLO operative and close Obama family friend Rashid Khalidi. Obama was a director of the Woods Fund from 1994 through 2001, when the board approved a $40,000 grant to the Arab American Action Network.

The same cesspool of radical Chicago politics that produced Abudayyeh and Khalidi also produced the megalomaniacal moonbat in the White House. It's going to be a rough two years as the full extent of his alarming associations inexorably comes to light despite the mainstream media blockade.

Joseph Iosbaker, Another SEIU Big Shot in Trouble

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:46 AM

Obama's pal Andy Stern isn't the only commie from the SEIU in trouble with the grownups — not that we would know this from the liberal establishment media. There's also Joseph Iosbaker, Chief Steward for SEIU's Local 73 in Chicago:

Over the weekend the FBI announced that it was investigating Joseph Iosbaker for possible connections to overseas terror groups. Iosbaker and his wife Stephanie Weiner, both anti-war activists, are suspected of activities "concerning the material support of terrorism."

Kind of reminds me of another couple

As usual, the media is covering for Obama's friends:

It is interesting to note that [Iosbaker's SEIU affiliation] escaped most of Chicago's TV coverage. Michelle Gallardo of ABC 7 TV seems to have forgotten to mention the union connection, CBS channel 2 also missed this fact, WGN TV channel 9 also forgot to mention the SEIU, and Channel 5 NBC also missed it, all accidentally I'm sure.
But it isn't just TV that missed this fact. The Associated Press also seems to be blind to the fact that Iosbaker is a union operative.

Fortunately we have alternative sources of information, so the public has no excuse not to keep itself sufficiently informed as to avoid catastrophic mistakes the leftist "mainstream" media would deliberately lead us into, like the 2008 elections.

Obama's Buddy Andy Stern Under Investigation

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:51 AM

Thuggish radical Andy Stern, who as head of the malignant SEIU was the #1 visitor to Obama's White House, finds himself in hot water:

The FBI and the U.S. Labor Department are investigating prominent labor leader Andy Stern in their probe of corruption at the Service Employees International Union, according to two people who have been interviewed by federal agents.
The two organized labor officials met with federal agents this summer to answer questions about a six-figure book contract that Stern landed in 2006 and his role in approving money to pay the salary of an SEIU leader in California who allegedly performed no work.

The timing couldn't be better:

The disclosure about the federal inquiry of Stern - who abruptly resigned as president of the 2.2-million member SEIU in April - comes just weeks ahead of contentious congressional elections in which the union is spending an estimated $44 million to support its favored Democratic candidates.
The SEIU has been plagued with several financial scandals since 2008, when the Los Angeles Times reported that Tyrone Freeman, head of the union's largest California local, misappropriated hundreds of thousands of dollars from the union. …
Stern left his post two years before the end of his term, saying he wanted to focus more on his personal life. He remains a member of President Barack Obama's deficit commission and a highly influential figure in the White House…

Other Stern activities include participating in Obamunist plans to seize control of private pensions. Like his buddy Obama, he specializes in running up massive debts. Light is getting shined on this cockroach none too soon.

Alan Grayson's Campaign of Brazen Lies

Posted by Dave Blount at 2:06 PM

Democrats are going to miss Alan Grayson when voters rise up and throw him out of office. They've sunk to the point that without him, they may not be able to hit new lows. With Grayson around, that's never a problem. His latest outrage:

This comes straight from the Michael Moore school of telling lies by taking quotations out of context. Grayson took the "submit to me" quote from this:

"Find a verse. I have a verse for my wife; I have verses for my wife. Don't pick the ones that say, um, she should submit to me. That's in the Bible, but pick the ones that you're supposed to do. So instead, love your wife, even as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it, as opposed to wives submit yourself to your own husband. She can pray that if she wants to, but don't you pray it."

That is, his opponent Daniel Webster was saying the exact opposite of what Grayson was trying to make it look like he said. This crosses the line between propaganda and flat out lying.

Grayson also brazenly lied about Webster's military service by claiming he dodged the draft because "he doesn't love this country." Actually, Webster was disqualified from service for medical reasons.

What can you expect of a guy who has proven himself to be an unhinged moonbat again and again and again and again and again and again?

Guy Benson floats the idea that there is a conspiracy afoot:

Part of me wonders if Grayson is actually living out an elaborate hoax. Might he be a brilliant conservative operative masquerading as a deranged, mean-spirited Left-wing creep who deliberately tailors his antics to offend moderate voters, discredit the TV and radio hosts who promote his over-the-top garbage, and ritually highlight the double standard conservatives face vis-a-vis the media's civility police?

Nah. Never ascribe to conservative cleverness what could better be explained by liberal psychosis. Hopey Change means the Left has a chance to show us all what it's really made of.

FBI Gives Terrorist Guided Tour of Secret Counterterrorism Facilities

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:04 AM

If we just extend an open hand to the Islamists who have been aggressively expanding at the expense of Western Civilization since the 6th century, they will unclench their fists for the first time in over 1,400 years — or at least, that's our government's antiterror strategy. Big Peace demonstrates how it is applied:

A known Hamas operative and unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism financing trial in U.S. history — Kifah Mustapha — was recently escorted into the top-secret National Counterterrorism Center and other secure government facilities, including the FBI's training center at Quantico, during a six-week "Citizen's Academy" hosted by the FBI as part of its "outreach" to the Muslim Community.

Ben Bradley of Chicago ABC affiliate WLS surprisingly saw fit to report on this. But information isn't worth much without context.

Curiously, Bradley's report on the Citizen's Academy fails to make note [of] Mustapha's extensive terrorist ties and support for Hamas, including his former employment with the Holy Land Foundation, which was listed as a specially designated terrorist group by the U.S. government in December 2001, and whose executives were convicted of terrorism support in 2008 and sentenced to lengthy prison terms. Mustapha was personally named unindicted co-conspirator (#31) in the case and employment records submitted by federal prosecutors during the trial showed that he received more than $154,000 for his work for the Holy Land Foundation between 1996 and 2000. During the trial, FBI Special Agent Lara Burns testified that Mustapha also sang in a band sponsored by the Holy Land Foundation that regularly featured songs dedicated to killing Jews and glorifying Hamas. In a deposition he gave in a civil trial concerned with the murder of a Chicago teenager killed by Hamas while waiting for a bus in Israel, Mustapha admitted that he was the registered agent for the Holy Land Foundation in Illinois, and also to his involvement with other Hamas front groups, including the Islamic Association for Palestine. He was later hired as an imam by the Mosque Foundation in Bridgeview, which the Chicago Tribune reported in 2004 has long been a hotbed of Hamas support.
Bradley's omission of this information about Kifah Mustapha in his report on Sunday is all the more curious since his own station aired an extensive investigative report of Mustapha's terrorist ties earlier this year.

It's less curious when you consider whose side the liberal establishment media tends to be on. The "mainstream" media is so far out of the mainstream as to actually support the obscene Ground Zero mosque, the cherry jihadists want to place atop their 9/11 handiwork. If you can't make sense of why the FBI would behave so foolishly, remember that it follows orders from a government headed by a slavishly pro-Islamic radical leftist hyped into office by this same media.

If Obamunists had been in charge during WWII, Hitler would have been taken on guided tours of the Manhattan Project.

Look who's been poking around the National Counterterrorism Center.

Actually, the artist wasn't trying to express some ineffable abstraction. Vicente admits that he wants these people killed.

12% Still Watch MSNBC

Great news for MSNBC: a surprising 12% of the public relies on its cartoonish left-wing propaganda for news:

More people are getting their news about the upcoming election from cable television than any other source, and from Fox News more than any other cable channel, according to a POLITICO/George Washington University Battleground Poll released Monday.
The poll found that 81 percent of those polled get their news about the midterm elections from cable channels, like Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, or their websites, compared with 71 percent from national network news channels, such as ABC, NBC or CBS, and their websites.
Among cable news channels, Fox was the clear winner, with 42 percent of respondents saying it is their main source, compared with 30 percent who cited CNN and 12 percent who rely on MSNBC.

At last Comrade Obama is getting tough with the worst of the worst Islamic terrorists resting up at Club Gitmo:

Detainees' diets at Guantanamo Bay have been a controversial issue for some time and now the U.S. prison is said to be rationing ice cream.
The frozen dessert is allegedly being tightly measured, with only one ice cream allowed for each of its 147 detainees.
Journalist for The Miami Herald, Carol Rosenberg, photographed a refrigerator at Guantanamo, with two signs reading 'DETAINEE FOOD ONLY' and 'Only 1 Ice Cream For each detainee!' …
The ice cream rationing has now led the journalist to question Guantanamo Bay's motives, suspecting that it might be an attempt to reduce spending.

Massive SEIU-Connected Voter Fraud Uncovered in Texas

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:46 AM

Democrats still have one hope to stay alive at the polls — by cheating.

Fortunately the Tea Party movement has awakened patriotic Americans, who are lifting rocks and shining lights into unwholesome crevices, making it more difficult for "community organizer" types to cancel our votes with phony ones. In the Houston area, Catherine Engelbrecht created "True the Vote" to uncover just how rotten the system has become.

"Vacant lots had several voters registered on them. An eight-bed halfway house had more than 40 voters registered at its address," Engelbrecht said. "We then decided to look at who was registering the voters."
Their work paid off. Two weeks ago the Harris County voter registrar took their work and the findings of his own investigation and handed them over to both the Texas secretary of state's office and the Harris County district attorney.
Most of the findings focused on a group called Houston Votes, a voter registration group headed by Sean Caddle, who also works for the Service Employees International Union. Among the findings were that only 1,793 of the 25,000 registrations the group submitted appeared to be valid.

That would be the same SEIU Andy Stern was heading up when he topped the White House visitors list. SEIU is essentially the same organization as ACORN, the disgraced outfit for which Obama personally trained other "community organizers," which has been implicated in voter fraud from one end of the country to the other, and which the Obama campaign furtively paid $800,000 for election activities that almost certainly involved cheating.

When town hall meetings started to get out of hand due to citizens questioning the representatives about the impending outrage of ObamaCare, it was the SEIU that came to the rescue on Obama's behalf by sending thugs to rough up patriots. It will come to his aid again on election day.

More on the SEIU-affiliated Houston Votes:

"The integrity of the voting rolls in Harris County, Texas, appears to be under an organized and systematic attack by the group operating under the name Houston Votes," the Harris voter registrar, Leo Vasquez, charged as he passed on the documentation to the district attorney.

Already liberals have used the defense that since most of the fraud is occurring in black areas, it is racist to investigate it. Combine that with the Injustice Department's policy that voter intimidation will not be prosecuted unless whites do it, and we get an idea of the mess we're going to have when our wildly unpopular "post-racial" president comes up for reelection.

2010 will be messy enough. It has to be assumed that Democrats — the party of taking what rightly belongs to others — will cheat massively; for the country to be saved, the resistance has to vote more massively.

Obama chants his allegiance to the thuggish SIEU. The allegiance works both ways.

Profiles in Countermoonbattery: Vaclav Klaus

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:26 AM

No wonder Comrade Obama knifed our ally the Czech Republic in the back by pulling away its promised missile shield. Not only was Vaclav Klaus one of the first world leaders to have the integrity to denounce global warming as a hoax, he is holding the line against further encroachments on national sovereignty by the malignant United Nations:

Czech President Vaclav Klaus on Saturday criticized U.N. calls for increased "global governance" of the world's economy, saying the world body should leave that role to national governments.
The solution to dealing with the global economic crisis, Klaus told the U.N. General Assembly, did not lie in "creating new governmental and supranational agencies, or in aiming at global governance of the world economy."
"On the contrary, this is the time for international organizations, including the United Nations, to reduce their expenditures, make their administrations thinner, and leave the solutions to the governments of member states," he said.
Klaus appeared to be responding to the address of the Swiss president of the General Assembly, Joseph Deiss, who said on Thursday at the opening of the annual gathering of world leaders in New York that it was time for the United Nations to "comprehensively fulfill its global governance role."

Global governance is the ultimate dream of collectivists, and the ultimate nightmare for those they would rule. The idea is a one-world totalitarian state, where no human is allowed to live better than another, unless of course they are part of the liberal ruling class, which will have it better than ever. The purpose of the seeping pustule we know as the UN is to advance this malign objective.

Having experienced communism under Soviet rule, Klaus also sees through Obamanomics:

"The anti-crisis measures that have been proposed and already partly implemented follow from the assumption that the crisis was a failure of markets and that the right way out is more regulation of markets," he said.
Klaus said that was a "mistaken assumption" and it was impossible to prevent future crises through regulatory interventions and similar actions by governments.
That will only "destroy the markets and together with them the chances for economic growth and prosperity in both developed and developing countries," he said.

Why does a little country like the Czech Republic get principled, intelligent leadership, whereas the USA finds itself saddled with a clueless adolescent Marxist? Probably because we've let the moonbat-infested establishment media choose our leaders for us. Hopefully that's not a mistake we will make again.

The More We Learn, the Worse ObamaCare Gets

Posted by Dave Blount at 3:52 PM

The Washington Examiner lists a few of the reasons that ObamaCare is turning out to be, incredibly enough, even worse than some expected:

• Obamacare won't decrease health care costs for the government.
• Obamacare covers elective abortions, contrary to Obama's promise that it wouldn't.
• Obamacare won't allow employees or most small businesses to keep the coverage they have and like.
• Obamacare will increase insurance premiums — in some places, it already has.
• Obamacare will force seasonal employers … to pay huge fines, cut hours, or lay off employees.
• Obamacare forces states [many of which can't afford it] to guarantee not only payment but also treatment for indigent Medicaid patients.
• Obamacare imposes a huge nonmedical tax compliance burden on small business.
• Obamacare allows the IRS to confiscate part or all of your tax refund if you do not purchase a qualified insurance plan.

Revolutions have started over less than this outrageously arrogant power grab. Republicans had better overcome their characteristic squishiness and repeal this abomination by any means necessary, or make way for others who will. If it we don't kill it fast, it will become entrenched, and our first-rate healthcare will be gone for ever.

So Much for Feminism

Posted by Dave Blount at 1:27 PM

Liberalism claims to encompass many causes, but there is only one cause in the end. Since 9/11, this cause has been advanced by supporting Muslims. When an alleged commitment to the welfare of women gets in the way of sucking up to the Religion of Peace, feminism goes overboard faster than you can say Juanita Brodderick. Useful idiots in Israel provide more proof:

Two activists have exposed a disturbing phenomenon that they say is an open secret within the "peace camp": female "peace" activists are routinely harassed and raped by the Arabs of Judea and Samaria with whom they have come to identify. They say the phenomenon has gotten worse lately and that many foreign women end up as wives of local Arabs against their will, but cannot escape their new homes.
Roni Aloni Sedovnik, a feminist activist, penned an article in News1 — an independent website run by respected investigative reporter Yoav Yitzchak — under the heading "The Left's Betrayal of Female Peace Activists Who were Sexually Assaulted."
"A nauseous atrocity has been going on for a long time behind the scenes at the leftists' demonstration at Bil'in, Naalin and Sheikh Jarrah [Shimon HaTzaddik]," she writes. "A dark secret that threatens to smash the basic ideological values upon which the demand to end the occupation of the Territories rests."
It turns out, she explains, that when female peace activists from Israel and abroad come out to Judea and Samaria and demonstrate against the Israeli "occupation," they are assaulted sexually by the Arab men whom they have come to help. These are not isolated incidents, Aloni-Sedovnik stresses. Rather, this is an "ongoing and widespread" phenomenon that includes verbal and physical abuse. She accuses the 'peace' camp of purposely covering up the trend so as not to offend "the Palestinians and their heritage, which sees women as sexual objects."

Activists who manage to escape their rapists instead of being kept as slaves are encouraged not to press charges, so as not to undermine the grand struggle against oppression. Once again we see that leftists have zero moral credibility.

Obama Continues Apology Tour at UN

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:29 AM

Like a bad headache, the Moonbat Messiah's Apology Tour never seems to stop. At the United Nations yesterday he once again denounced the country he supposedly leads, and invited others to blame us for their financial woes. But not to worry, citizens of the world; the Manchurian Moonbat will make it up to you — no doubt at the expense of American taxpayers.

President Barack Obama told the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday that America's financial crisis was the reason their economies were suffering and promised to not rest until people around the globe prosper. "Two years ago this month, a financial crisis on Wall Street devastated American families on Main Street. The global economy suffered an enormous blow during the financial crisis, crippling markets and deferring the dreams of millions on every continent," he said.
Obama also assured the 192 nations gathered for the opening of the 2010 U.N. meeting that he has had "no greater focus as president than rescuing our economy from potential catastrophe." In taking credit for saving mankind from financial ruin with his administration's actions, Obama went on to say, "The global economy has been pulled back from the brink of a depression, and is growing once more… We are exploring ways to expand trade and commerce among nations. But we cannot — and will not — rest until these seeds of progress grow into a broader prosperity, for all Americans, and for people around the globe." In a stunning pledge for an American president, Obama told the U.N. diplomats that since Wall Street caused their problems, he would take responsibility for fixing their financial mess.

Speaking of messes, here's a two-step plan for cleaning up some big ones: 1) reassign Obama to the job of Secretary General of the United Nations, since he seems to think that's his title anyway; 2) bulldoze the UN building into the East River.

More than a quarter of a million children have been accused of racism since it became law, she said.
Writing in Prospect magazine, she said: 'The more we seek to measure racism, the more it seems to grow.'

No kidding. We learned all about this phenomenon during the Salem witch trials. Mirza continues:

'Does this heightened awareness of racism help to stamp it out? Quite the opposite. It creates a climate of suspicion and anxiety.'

Under the absurd act, public authorities in schools and churches are required to report "racism" even if no offense was intended or taken. Obama's Afghanistan Strategy: They Win, We Lose

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:43 AM

Remember when Afghanistan was the "war of necessity" that we must win, whereas Iraq was the losable "war of choice"? Bush's surge having turned the tide in Iraq put a whole new perspective on Afghanistan. Evidently, losing is not only an option now, it's Obama's plan:

President Obama urgently looked for a way out of the war in Afghanistan last year, repeatedly pressing his top military advisers for an exit plan that they never gave him, according to secret meeting notes and documents cited in a new book by journalist Bob Woodward.
Frustrated with his military commanders for consistently offering only options that required significantly more troops, Obama finally crafted his own strategy, dictating a classified six-page "terms sheet" that sought to limit U.S. involvement, Woodward reports in "Obama's Wars," to be released on Monday.
According to Woodward's meeting-by-meeting, memo-by-memo account of the 2009 Afghan strategy review, the president avoided talk of victory as he described his objectives.
"This needs to be a plan about how we're going to hand it off and get out of Afghanistan," Obama is quoted as telling White House aides…
Obama kept asking for "an exit plan" to go along with any further troop commitment, and is shown growing increasingly frustrated with the military hierarchy for not providing one.

Jack Wakeland of TIA comments:

As Woodward's book sinks in, it will become more and more difficult for President Obama to pretend that he has any desire to see to the nation's defenses. This will be a particularly ugly issue for the men and women of the US military. They're going to have little choice but to begin rejecting Barack Obama categorically as unworthy of being their commander-in-chief.
Again, this is a very ugly situation to have: a president who has zero desire to defend the United States giving orders — and not giving orders — to the US military to carry out its duties in combat, overseas. The widespread contempt and disgust which a majority of military men felt for President Bill Clinton is nothing compared to what is brewing right now.

Imagine being out there on the front lines with your life in constant danger, forced to fight under absurdly restrictive rules of engagement, knowing that your farcical "Commander in Chief" plans for you to lose and is only stalling until your defeat can be arranged so as to cause him minimal political damage. If the most crucial weapon in our armed forces' arsenal is morale, Obama is disarming them.

Government Motors Resumes Political Payoffs

If you aren't enraged yet by Democrats' nationalization of General Motors, maybe this will do the trick:

General Motors Co. has begun to once again contribute to political campaigns, lifting a self-imposed ban on political spending put in place during the auto maker's U.S.-financed bankruptcy restructuring last year.
The Detroit company gave $90,500 to candidates running in the current election cycle, Federal Election Commission records show.
The beneficiaries include Midwestern lawmakers, mostly Democrats, who have traditionally supported the industry's legislative agenda on Capitol Hill, including Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.), Sen. Sherrod Brown (D., Ohio) and Rep. John Dingell (D., Mich.).

Mostly Democrats? You don't say!

It was of course Democrats' union allies that bled GM to the point of being ripe for a government takeover. Mullah Obama Shovels Our Money at Hamas Terrorists

Posted by Dave Blount at 4:17 PM

When Obama generously shovels mountains of our money at Gaza, no one should be surprised that it ends up in the pockets of the blood-drenched Islamic terrorists who run the place:

A foreign journalist writing for the United Arab Emirates newspaper The National recently visited the Gaza Strip and discovered the reason many Gazans are still struggling despite the enormous influx of aid. That reason, as most already knew, is because Hamas is stealing the bulk of what your tax dollars are buying. …
Speaking to the people on the street, including members of rival terrorist groups, journalist Mitchell Prothero found that instead of facilitating the distribution of that aid, Hamas is making a tidy profit off of it. …
Islamic Jihad commander Abu Musab told the reporter that his former comrades in Hamas "used to be mujahideen (Muslim resistance fighters), but today are fat millionaires with nice cars." …
Political analyst Mkhaimer Abu Sada told Prothero that as the situation now stands, there is little that can be done. Hamas is "in total control of the situation in Gaza," said Abu Sada, noting that the terror group can now field upwards of 35,000 armed gunmen, whereas in 2006 it only had 5,000-6,000 fighters in Gaza.

Shrillary Blows $50 Million on Cookstoves

Once the scale becomes sufficiently massive, wasting other people's money must actually be difficult. Otherwise, our rulers wouldn't have to resort to absurdities like Shrillary's recent announcement that taxpayers will be looted for $50 million to spend on cookstoves for the Third World.

There's more to this than coercive charity. According to the bizarre collection of delusions that serves moonbats for a belief system, improper cookstoves make it be too hot out.

Smoke from [incorrect] cooking methods can lead to childhood pneumonia, lung cancer, bronchitis and cardiovascular disease [not to mention halitosis, dandruff, Tourette syndrome, and "The Itch"] while contributing to climate change through emissions of carbon dioxide and methane — two major greenhouse gases — and black carbon.

For the progressives who are in charge and presumably clever enough to see through their own lies, there is a more compelling motive:

The new alliance to combat the issue [of improper cookstoves] groups U.S. government agencies with the United Nations Foundation, Germany, Peru, Norway, the World Health Organization and corporate backers including Morgan Stanley and Shell, among others.
"This is something that touches on climate, on health, on women's empowerment, on deforestation and on poverty," Reid Detchon, vice president for energy and climate at the United Nations Foundation, said in an interview.

What it touches on, other than our pocketbooks and Detchon's long list of BS, is liberals' ultimate dream: a world government under the boot of which you can't so much as boil a hot dog without Shrillary Rotten and Ban-Ki Moonbat telling you how it must be done. Implicit in their nature are the notions that lives lost at the World Trade Center are more valuable than lives lost in Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine and elsewhere; that the motives of the 9/11 attackers had nothing to do with genuine grievances in the Islamic world regarding American imperialism; and that the U.S. has been justified in the subsequent killing of hundreds of thousands in so-called retaliation.
The observance at Saturday's football game was no different. A moment of silence was followed by a military airplane flyover; in between, [University of Illinois football fans] chanted "USA, USA." This was neither patriotism nor remembrance in any justifiable sense, but politicization, militarism, propaganda and bellicosity. The University is a public institution that encompasses the political views of all, not just the most (falsely) "patriotic." Athletic planners should cease such exploitation for political purposes. They might at least consider how most Muslim students, American or otherwise, would respond to this nativist display; or better, Muslims and others that live their lives under the threat of our planes, drones and soldiers. … University administrators need to eliminate from all events such "patriotic" observances, which in this country cannot be separated from implicit justifications for state-sponsored killing.

People who basically think like this control our schools, media, and government.

Head of Ohio Democrat Party Drops F-Bomb on Voters

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:11 AM

Unable to deal with the onrushing wrath of the public they've abused, Democrat apparatchiks are coming apart:

The head of the Ohio Democratic Party is brushing off his description of Tea Partiers and other opponents of President Obama's health care law as "f--kers," saying he shares a penchant for blurting with Vice President Biden.
"It is what it is," Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern told Fox News regarding his Monday appearance at an endorsement event by the United Steelworkers for several Ohio Democrats, including Gov. Ted Strickland.

Here's video.

What kind of American's are "f--kers," according to our Democrat rulers? Those who oppose communism:

Redfern said during his remarks he was lamenting "people in this state who look at health care as a privilege, not a right."

Asserting that you have a "right" to goods and services provided by others, irrespective of your willingness to pay for them, sounds good to bleeding heart liberals who don't have the brainpower to think things through, but it is not compatible with the most basic tenets of liberty. If other people have a "right" to your labor, then you are a slave. Notwithstanding the outlandish lies fed us by progressives, the state of medical facilities in Cuba illustrates that an economy based on slavery is not efficient enough to provide adequate healthcare for anyone but the ruling class.

The more people understand this, the more right Dems like Redfern are to panic.

Soon to get a spanking, Redfern wallows in a foul-mouthed funk.

Black Panthers/Justice Department Scandal Gathers Steam

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:29 AM

If we had a credible, unbiased media in this country, the New Black Panther/Justice Department voter intimidation case would already have brought down Obama's lawless, racist regime. But even deprived of oxygen, this outrageous scandal continues to grow:

Information obtained from the Obama Department of Justice by the Washington-based government monitor Judicial Watch appears to document that a political operative participated in the decision to drop large portions of a voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party that essentially already had been won.
Judicial Watch announced in a statement … that it has forced the disclosure of the existence of documents "indicating [ultra partisan Obamunist] Democratic election lawyer Sam Hirsch was involved in the DOJ decision to dismiss its voting rights case against the New Black Panther Party for Self Defense."

In case you've been relying on the MSM for information, the case is about New Black Panther thugs, including the charming King Samir Shabazz, intimidating voters during the 2008 election. Here's video:

In the aftermath of the open and shut case being thrown out on orders from above, former Justice Department attorney J. Christian Adams revealed that the DOJ under the "post-racial" Obama will not prosecute cases of human rights abuses where the defendants are black and the victims are white — a state of affairs that no reasonable person of any color would tolerate.

As with Watergate, the cover-up is expanding the scope of the scandal. Already, a level of political involvement has been revealed that was previously denied by Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez. More revelations await, if investigators are tenacious enough to chip through the Manchurian Moonbat's trademark "transparency."

The index obtained describes 122 documents, which include at least 611 pages, that currently are being withheld by the Obama administration from the public.
"We now know that top political leaders inside Obama Justice Department were involved in the call to drop the Black Panther case," said [Judicial Watch President Tom] Fitton. "And we also know that at least one top Justice official said otherwise under oath.
"In the meantime, we will ask the court to require the Obama Justice Department to release these (and other) secret documents about this scandal and its cover-up."

In other Obama Administration/New Black Panthers news, more revelations have come to light regarding the Injustice Department's special darlings:

Minister King Samir Shabazz, formerly known as Maruse (or Maurice) Heath, has a record of beating people with a club comparable to the nightstick he brandished outside the polling place. According to Mike Nolan on Andrew Breitbart's, Shabazz pleaded guilty in 1995 to assault for hitting a man with a cane-like implement, hospitalizing his victim and requiring head staples. Three years later, Shabazz was charged with beating and terrorizing his girlfriend, dragging her by the hair and threatening to kill her. Those charges were dropped when she failed to show up in court.
As for Jerry Jackson - the local Democratic committeeman and Black Panther for whom the Justice Department dropped all voter-intimidation charges - his record of convictions includes drug dealing, stabbing and robbing, all in Philadelphia. "Since becoming infamous for intimidating voters, Jackson and Samir have taken to posting photos of themselves posing with handguns," Mr. Nolan reported. "A felony firearm charge can be brought against a convicted felon who is found in possession of a firearm, regardless of the intended or actual use of the weapon. Certainly DOJ must be aware of these photos. Why haven't they pursued charges under 18 U.S.C. 922 against Jerry Jackson? Is he getting a pass on gun charges, too?"

If you don't want to live in a country where scum like Shabazz and Jackson are allowed to run wild on behalf of equally thuggish socialist rulers, do your part to start rolling back Hopey Change in November.

Cambridge Applies Yoga to Parking Tickets

"It's trying to debunk the idea that all parking tickets are a hostile action, because I don't think they are."

The tickets are part of a project by "artist-in-residence" Daniel Peltz, who emails from Sweden,

"I started this process by wondering what would happen in a world where I received them with a set of graceful postures: a clean bend at the waist, a gentle lift of the windshield wiper … I'm going to get the ticket either way, my only choice really is how I'm going to receive it."

Auntie Zeituni Gripes About the Accommodations on Her Free Ride

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:25 AM

Apparently the self-pity Comrade Obama exhibits whenever he's criticized runs in the family, as demonstrated by his welfare queen illegal alien Aunt Zeituni. From Howie Carr:

So here she is, the president's half-aunt, 58 years old, "retired," living in public housing where Americans must wait years for an opening, getting $700 a month from a system into which she never contributed.
"I have been treated like Public Enemy Number One," she told Channel 4's Jonathan Elias the other night. …
"I did not take advantage of the system," she said. "The system took advantage of me."
How's that War on Poverty working out for you? About as well as Ted Kennedy's Immigration Reform Act of 1965, I'd say. They're only here to collect the welfare checks Americans can't be bothered collecting.
Elias did a fine job interviewing her, asking all the right questions. He said there was "zero contrition," which is putting it mildly. And you thought her half-nephew had an astounding sense of entitlement.

Auntie Zeituni informs us that we have an "obligation" to grant her citizenship, not for her nonexistent contributions to our society, but simply because she showed up with her hand out.

At least the poor woman's life isn't a living hell, like Michelle Antoinette's.

Parasites like Auntie Zeituni are why we will soon have means testing for Social Security. If we are going to "spread the wealth around" while keeping the system from total collapse, it will soon have to be divided into those who pay in and those who take out.

Woe is poor Auntie Zeituni.

The Cowards' Tax

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:17 AM

Rarely distinguished by their courage, liberal bureauweenies have been steadily jacking up taxes by stealth via sin taxes:

Concerned about the national debt? Alarmed by politicians' inability to balance budgets? Worried that certain programs will be cut? If so, Uncle Sam needs you … to smoke like it's a Mad Men episode, drink booze like a frat boy, gamble like a high-roller and glug soda like a parched child.

The more we indulge in these supposedly sinful activities, the more Big Government profits at our expense. How can we complain when they're only taxing us for our own good? Meanwhile, the definition of "sinful" steadily expands to include all human activity.

In the past fiscal year, 11 states have increased cigarette taxes, while five states upped their gas taxes. (Yes, even driving is seen as a sin in some quarters today.) Earlier this year, Colorado stopped exempting sugary drinks and fatty snacks from a 2.9% sales tax, while Washington state hiked taxes on beer and soda. And the proposals keep coming: Californians will vote in November whether to legalize and tax marijuana, more than 130 Maryland General Assembly candidates have signed a pledge to vote for a 10-cent tax on all alcoholic drinks, and in Oregon, the Public Health Division is pushing for a soda tax.

All of these taxes will hit the poor harder than the rich, even as their liberal elite advocates bleat mendacious class warfare rhetoric. Remember when Comrade Obama was elected on the brazen lie that he would cut taxes for 95% of Americans? One of his first acts on taking office was to sign into law a gargantuan hike in federal tobacco taxes. Most smokers make less than $36,000 a year.

Here's an idea I was surprised to read in USA Today:

If politicians continue to enact sin taxes, voters should recommend a new sin tax, one that taxes lawmakers who use cheap tactics to avoid making the tough budgeting decisions. Because when it comes to vices that impact the long-term welfare of the nation, that's a sin much more destructive than driving a gas-guzzling vehicle or enjoying a Coke.

But if you think sin taxes are devious and pernicious, wait until they club us with an invisible, ubiquitous, and economy-strangling value added tax.

Still More Koran-Burning Follies

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:35 AM

Want to know what will happen to our civil liberties if we let libs drag us down into moonbat dhimmitude? Look no further than Britainistan, where you don't have to burn a Koran to get thrown in jail, you just have to watch someone else doing it:

In a disturbing development, Northumbria Police in Gateshead last week arrested two men after they watched and shared a video on Facebook of a man burning the Koran in the US during the recent 9/11 commemoration at Ground Zero in New York.
The men were drinking in the Bugle pub, Leam Lane, Gateshead, when they were arrested after watching and sharing the videos.

The charge was "suspicion of inciting racial hatred." This is where "hate crimes" legislation inevitably leads: to the criminalization of seeming not to be fond of groups favored by the liberal ruling class.

Closer to home, the guy who actually burned the evil book — Derek Fenton of Bloomingdale, NJ — was fired from New Jersey Transit, with the blessing of the disappointing dhimmi Chris Christie.

Via Dori Monson, here's video of Fenton's incorrect deed that amazingly hasn't yet been pulled from YouTube. Make sure no bobbies are looking before you push play:

Meanwhile, in Florida, authorities are trying to bill Terry Jones over $150,000 just for threatening to burn the Koran. In Iran, peace-loving ayatollahs have issued a fatwa calling for the death of Koran burners. Also in Iran, hundreds of Bibles were burned by "security forces," as the world yawned.

Boys Now Have a Human Right to Use Girls Bathroom

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:06 AM

The Maine Human Rights Commission deserves praise from moonbats for doing its part in the culture war:

The Maine Human Rights Commission ruled Monday that Orono Middle School unlawfully discriminated against a sixth-grader during the 2008-2009 school year by not letting the male-to-female transgender student use the girls' bathroom.
This is the same student whose parents filed a similar discrimination complaint against Asa Adams Elementary School in Orono when their child was a fifth grader there during the 2007-2008 school year. That case resulted in the same ruling against the school district in June 2009.
Also Monday, the commission members again began talks about developing anti-discrimination guidelines specifically for schools under the Maine Human Rights Act.

As with everything they touch, liberals have reduced the concept of Human Rights to a nauseating farce.

The school gave the screwed-up kid his own gender-neutral bathroom and locker room. But that wasn't good enough for his even more screwed-up parents and their lawyers:

The parents of the child, who no longer attends schools in the district, wrote in their latest complaint to the commission that she [sic] experienced anxiety and depression after officials at Orono Middle School forced her [sic] to use a gender-neutral bathroom and her [sic] peers picked on her [sic].

By using a feminine pronoun to refer to a little boy, liberal journalists dutifully weigh in on the side of depravity and insanity.

America has faced other sinister enemies — Nazis, communists, Muslims — but only liberals would be fiendish enough to fight us by rotting away our civilization with the bizarre psychosexual dysfunctions they encourage even in small children.

Obama Finally Attends Church — To Hear Muslim Speaker

Posted by Dave Blount at 12:49 PM

At last we know how to get supposedly Christian Comrade Obama into a church — invite a politically active Muslim speaker:

[O]n Sunday, September 19, 2010, the Obama family attended church for only the third time in a year. They went on foot to the St. John's Episcopal Church situated across the Lafayette Park.
But what is widely not reported by the White House and the MSM is that on that particular Sunday in that particular church, Dr. Ziad Asali, M.D., a Muslim, founder and president of the American Task Force on Palestine, was the guest speaker. He was there to speak on the subject of "Prospects of the two-state solution in the Middle-East." …
Dr. Ziad J. Asali is described as "a long-time activist on Middle East issues" who has testified to both chambers of Congress about Palestinian interests, increased U.S. aid to the Palestinian Authority, and "Israel's disproportionate use of force" in Gaza.

Pro-jihadist moonbattery — now there's something other than his reflection the Manchurian Moonbat can worship.

Actually, the real reason Mullah Obama finally went to church is because America is a country of "prejudice and bigotry." Just ask liberal establishmentarian Sally Quinn, who writes about religion for the Washington Compost:

Just be glad the Anointed One is no longer worshiping at his old unholy temple of Black Liberation Theology. But then, after 20 years of soaking up Jeremiah Wright's rabid anti-American and anti-Caucasian diatribes, Obama must have it all thoroughly internalized.

Desperate for Attention, Michael Moore Joins the Jihad

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:15 AM

Remember Michael Moore? Not long ago he was widely acknowledged as the most repugnant moonbat in America. Libs have learned to find less visibly repulsive representatives, apparently leaving Moore desperate for attention:

Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore says he has raised over $50,000 for the construction of a mosque and Muslim community center near Ground Zero.
Moore made an appeal to his supporters on the ninth anniversary of 9/11 for donations to the construction project, pledging to match contributions up to $10,000.

Building the blasphemy at the outer edge of Ground Zero isn't good enough for Moore.

"I am opposed to the building of the "mosque" two blocks from Ground Zero. I want it built on Ground Zero," Moore said.

Since the proposed site is within the destruction zone, he must mean that the mosque should be constructed directly on top of the footprints of the World Trade Center towers.

He then went on to compare Al Qaeda favorably to McDonald's, which according to the grotesquely obese Moore kills more people than Islam by serving them affordable food. Even more disgustingly, he compared blood-drenched Islamic terrorists, who operate in accordance with their prophet's mandates and with the widespread approval of other Muslims, to conservative Catholics.

"Let's face it, all religions have their whackos. Catholics have O'Reilly, Gingrich, Hannity and Clarence Thomas — in fact all five conservatives who dominate the Supreme Court are Catholic."

If only Hitler had been taken at his word, he could have been stopped before he became strong enough to do so much damage. The same goes for communists and Muslims, both of whom have made plain as day their intention to destroy our civilization and enslave us. It also holds true for the likes of Moore, who could not be more direct in getting across the main message of liberals — that they are profoundly hostile to our society, will side with any external threat, and will stop at nothing to insult, degrade, and ruin us. Their ideology is a disease that will kill us if we don't find a cure. In the most profound sense of the word, they are the enemy.

Hyperpoliticized Army Will Not Tolerate Those Who Don't Embrace Radical Homosexual Agenda

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:58 AM

You can't destroy America without destroying the mighty American military. Liberals are on the job, using their usual tactic of incremental corrosion. That is, they are going to rot it into a contemptible farce, just as they've been doing to the country as a whole. Here's a report on their progress:

Next week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is expected to begin floor debate on a defense authorization bill that would repeal the Clinton-era "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy and allow homosexuals to serve openly in the armed forces. Last month, a top military official offered a glimpse of how the military might look should the new policy take effect: Those serving who oppose the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) agenda are no longer welcome.
Those were the views of Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick, the Army's deputy chief of staff in charge of personnel matters who spoke about "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" before several hundred troops at the European Command headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. "Unfortunately, we have a minority of service members who are still racists and bigoted and you will never be able to get rid of all of them," Lt. Gen. Bostick said. "But these people opposing this new policy will need to get with the program, and if they can't, they need to get out. No matter how much training and education of those in opposition, you're always going to have those that oppose this on moral and religious grounds just like you still have racists today."
The strong words take additional significance from Lt. Gen. Bostick's direct involvement with a Pentagon panel charged with shaping military policy on this issue. Although Lt. Gen. Bostick presented the question of homosexuals in the military as if it were about civil rights, it is nothing of the kind. The services must discriminate to function. Those who are too old, too weak or too overweight must be shown the door even when similar actions in the private sector might spark a lawsuit. The reason for the military's existence is to win battles and wars, not to ensure feelings aren't hurt or to serve as a playground for social experimentation.

Or at least, that would be the reason for the military's existence in a country not run by liberals who openly hate the military and must be delighted at their opportunity to degrade and destroy it. Unless they are removed from power, the armed forces will quickly degenerate into a federal jobs program, of no use on any battlefield.

Those whose principles, religious or otherwise, require them to resist degeneracy and depravity will be thrown out. Those who indulge or pretend to indulge in disgusting, disease-spreading, morale-destroying, but politically favored sexual perversions will be able to sue their way to the top of the hierarchy.

Meanwhile, the communist Chinese keep building tanks and battleships.

UK Takes Another Step Toward Communism

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:35 AM

What's next after the government helping itself to a large cut of our paycheck before we even see it, so that it doesn't have to rely on our compliance and so that most people don't fully realize how much is stolen from them? The answer comes from once great Britain:

The UK's tax collection agency is putting forth a proposal that all employers send employee paychecks to the government, after which the government would deduct what it deems as the appropriate tax and pay the employees by bank transfer.

George Bull, tax chief at the accounting firm Baker Tilly, complains that with Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs taking over payroll, it could take months to get paid:

"If HMRC has direct access to employees' bank accounts and makes a mistake, people are going to feel very exposed and vulnerable."

That bumbling, greedy, parasitical bureauweenies have the gall to suggest putting themselves in charge of when, how much, and whether private employees get paid should be more than enough to make people feel exposed and vulnerable even before the inevitable screw-ups occur.

The next step after Big Government becomes the universal paymaster? Streamline operations by cutting post-tax income to zero, where it has been steadily heading by increments. Barack Obama Sr. was ahead of his time when he floated the idea of stealing every last penny:

"Theoretically there is nothing that can stop the government from taxing 100% of income so long as the people get benefits from the government commensurate with their income which is taxed."

Communism isn't imposed by invading Soviet tanks anymore. Now it comes from damp, mouse-like government office workers who nibble away at our freedom and property until there's none left at all.

Next Major Hasan Ticks Away at Fort Hood

Posted by Dave Blount at 1:10 PM

After a Religion of Peacenik killed 14 Americans in an Islamic terror attack against unarmed servicemen at Fort Hood, Army Chief of Staff General George Casey Jr. responded by bleating contemptibly about his unshakable devotion to the same politically correct lunacy that prevented anyone from responding to the red flags Major Nidal Malik Hasan had been waving until it was too late. Needless to say, nothing has been done to prevent the horror from recurring, which it inevitably will. Next time, the soldier for Allah may be named Zachari Klawonn:

Zachari Klawonn, a Muslim U.S. Army specialist stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, told the Arabic-language television network Al Jazeera in a recent interview that training he had undergone in the U.S. military was "propaganda against Islam."

Just like Hasan, Klawonn characterizes himself as a righteous victim of "Islamophobia," as all Muslims are relentlessly encouraged to do by our treasonous media.

U.S. Army Specialist Klawonn told Al Jazeera he was subject to disrespectful comments and harassment of his property from fellow soldiers and from the Army command itself.

Klawonn also declares that opposition to building an obscene Victory Mosque at Ground Zero is "a big slap in my face as a service member."

How is the Army dealing with this loudly ticking time bomb?

A spokesman for Fort Hood told that, as an American, Klawonn had a right to express his views and that he had informed his commanding officer that he was going to appear on Al-Jazeera. The spokesman said the Army did not agree with what Klawonn said.

There, they disagreed with him. Problem solved — until the shooting starts.

Those who don't learn from their mistakes will be destroyed by them.

The Evil Ghost Deliberately Steering America Toward Ruin

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:03 AM

Given that America is now under the heel of its first Third World president, it may take someone with a Third World background to make sense of his behavior. Indian-born Dinesh D'Souza has a theory for why Obama has worked consistently to destroy our country and its free market economy. It comes down to the Manchurian Moonbat's nightmarish "dream":

What then is Obama's dream? We don't have to speculate because the President tells us himself in his autobiography, Dreams from My Father. According to Obama, his dream is his father's dream. Notice that his title is not Dreams of My Father but rather Dreams from My Father. Obama isn't writing about his father's dreams; he is writing about the dreams he received from his father.
So who was Barack Obama Sr.? He was a Luo tribesman who grew up in Kenya and studied at Harvard. He was a polygamist who had, over the course of his lifetime, four wives and eight children. One of his sons, Mark Obama, has accused him of abuse and wife-beating. He was also a regular drunk driver who got into numerous accidents, killing a man in one and causing his own legs to be amputated due to injury in another. In 1982 he got drunk at a bar in Nairobi and drove into a tree, killing himself.
An odd choice, certainly, as an inspirational hero. But to his son, the elder Obama represented a great and noble cause, the cause of anticolonialism. …
Anticolonialism is the doctrine that rich countries of the West got rich by invading, occupying and looting poor countries of Asia, Africa and South America. As one of Obama's acknowledged intellectual influences, Frantz Fanon, wrote in The Wretched of the Earth, "The well-being and progress of Europe have been built up with the sweat and the dead bodies of Negroes, Arabs, Indians and the yellow races."

Because liberalism has plunged Europe into such a steep decline that not even Third World leftists can take it seriously anymore, America replaced it as the main villain under the bogus theory of "neocolonialism" — a term that comprises hatred of America, economic freedom, and Caucasians, and that explains most everything Obama says and does.

From a very young age and through his formative years, Obama learned to see America as a force for global domination and destruction. He came to view America's military as an instrument of neocolonial occupation. He adopted his father's position that capitalism and free markets are code words for economic plunder. Obama grew to perceive the rich as an oppressive class, a kind of neocolonial power within America. In his worldview, profits are a measure of how effectively you have ripped off the rest of society, and America's power in the world is a measure of how selfishly it consumes the globe's resources and how ruthlessly it bullies and dominates the rest of the planet.

Comrade Obama takes this vehemently racist and anti-American ideology quite seriously.

In his own writings Obama stresses the centrality of his father not only to his beliefs and values but to his very identity. He calls his memoir "the record of a personal, interior journey — a boy's search for his father and through that search a workable meaning for his life as a black American." And again, "It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself." Even though his father was absent for virtually all his life, Obama writes, "My father's voice had nevertheless remained untainted, inspiring, rebuking, granting or withholding approval. You do not work hard enough, Barry. You must help in your people's struggle. Wake up, black man!"

Wake up, black man! Here's a stick, get Whitey in the eye! Horrifyingly, white liberals read Obama's alarming memoirs and voted for him anyway.

Colonialism today is a dead issue. No one cares about it except the man in the White House. He is the last anticolonial. Emerging market economies such as China, India, Chile and Indonesia have solved the problem of backwardness; they are exploiting their labor advantage and growing much faster than the U.S. If America is going to remain on top, we have to compete in an increasingly tough environment.
But instead of readying us for the challenge, our President is trapped in his father's time machine. Incredibly, the U.S. is being ruled according to the dreams of a Luo tribesman of the 1950s. This philandering, inebriated African socialist, who raged against the world for denying him the realization of his anticolonial ambitions, is now setting the nation's agenda through the reincarnation of his dreams in his son. The son makes it happen, but he candidly admits he is only living out his father's dream. The invisible father provides the inspiration, and the son dutifully gets the job done. America today is governed by a ghost.

The ghost that haunts us does not mean us well.

Running America. We couldn't be worse off with Idi Amin.

Mosque in a Box

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:03 AM

Say you're a Religion of Peacenik who visits Lower Manhattan to gloat at Ground Zero, and you are suddenly overcome by an urge to praise Allah. Despite Mayor Bloomberg's best efforts there's no mosque at the site yet, so where to pray? The solution is simple — with the Porto-Mosque:

For Muslims too busy with work to attend Friday prayers at the local mosque, [an imam in Paris] has designed a portable mosque in box that can be used anywhere.
"We can't always drop things in an instant and go out and pray," the imam, Hassmem Bounamcha, told BBC News.
The portable unit is meant to substitute a mihrab, or a prayer niche in the wall of a mosque that indicates the direction of Mecca.

These could come in handy for terrorists on the run who can't find any children to hide behind. Brow-beaten by political correctness and our Islamophile media, authorities would never dare to fire on a mosque. Hopefully the Porto-Mosque comes with leg holes so that worshipers can run away without ever leaving its safety.

Each Porto-Mosque comes with a prayer rug. Suicide belt not included.

ObamaCare Deprives Children of Health Insurance

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:06 AM

Remember Comrade Obama's promise that fewer children would be covered by health insurance after he had seized control of the healthcare sector? No? But that's how it's turning out:

Thousands of Colorado children will soon have fewer options for health insurance. And parents who may not be able to afford it for themselves, but want it for their children won't have that option.
Ironically [if unsurprisingly] the change is as a result of the health care reform act.
7NEWS learned several large insurance companies are no longer offering child-only health policies.
Child-only policies are typically obtained by families because sometimes it's cheaper than a family health plan through an employer. But most often parents who cannot afford health insurance for themselves purchase a child-only policy to make sure their kids are insured even if they are not.

Or they did, until ObamaCare came along.

The Affordable Care Act requires insurance companies which offer child-only policies to take all kids, even those with preexisting conditions.
According to Robbie Zirkelbach, of America's Health Insurance Plans, this is an issue the government did not see when it passed the Affordable Care Act. He said until there is a mandate that all kids have insurance, like there will be in 2014, there is an incentive for parents now to only sign-up their child when he or she is sick.
Zirkelbach said if parents only sign up sick children, premiums for other policy holders will have to be increased. As a result, insurance companies want to keep costs low for its current policy holders, so therefore are deciding to eliminate child-only policies to avoid the health care loophole until everyone is mandated to have insurance.

Assuming that mandate isn't deemed to be unconstitutional. In the meantime, the leftist demagogues running the government and mainstream media will find it easy to demonize as hurtful to the children any insurance company that does what it has to do to stay solvent in a profoundly hostile regulatory environment.

The idea as always with Obamanomics is to drive private industry out of business, so that government can exert total control. Only then will everyone have insurance, and an equal right to wait months for rationed substandard care, assuming that bureaucrats deem them to be deserving of treatment.

Moonbat Tech: Fish Bowl Sink

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:17 AM

The polar bears will never doubt your commitment to their cause when you tell them you've been washing your hands in goldfish waste to serve Gaia:

Well here's a clever way to encourage people to conserve water while they're washing their hands. As you use the Poor Little Fish Sink, designed by Yan Lu, the water in the fishbowl slowly drains away. So if you use too much the goldfish will meet an untimely demise. According to Yan the "Poor Little Fish basin offers an emotional way to persuade consumers to think about saving water, by making consumption tangible" though I'm sure there are still a lot of people who would value clean hands over the life of a small fish.

Liberals wouldn't, as evidenced by their willingness to turn the San Joaquin Valley into a dustbowl on behalf of delta smelt, throwing thousands out of work.

Please, no one tell them that water is the ultimate renewable resource. They're having too much fun bathing in guilt.

Freddie and Fannie Due for Another Bank-Busting Bailout

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:30 AM

Here we go again:

Taxpayer losses from the government seizure of failed housing finance giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac could reach nearly $400 billion, but likely won't top that level as some had feared, the firms' federal regulator said…
The bailouts of the two former government-sponsored enterprises, which continue to keep the mortgage financing market afloat almost single-handedly, already have reached $148.2 billion as bad loans they purchased during the real estate boom continue to fail.
Concerns were raised about the ultimate price tag when the Obama administration in December lifted a $400-billion cap on the federal commitment to Fannie and Freddie through 2012. Officials at the time said they did so to provide certainty to the real estate market as the White House and Congress wrestle with the future of the entities.

The only certainty in the real estate market is that if the government continues to use Fannie and Freddy (which are now 80% government owned) to "spread the wealth around" by providing housing above people's ability to pay for it, the market will crash again, for the same reasons it did in 2008.

Having learned nothing, down we go again.

Veteran Anchor Doug McKelway Fired for Reporting Honestly

Posted by Dave Blount at 12:33 PM

When reporters for mainstream news outlets step out of line, they need to be dealt with strictly; otherwise, the public might get the idea that America under Obama isn't the best of all possible worlds. That's why Doug McKelway of WJLA-TV is out of a job:

McKelway was placed on indefinite suspension in late July after his run-in with ABC7's news director and general manager, Bill Lord. In a letter to McKelway this week, the station said it was terminating his contract immediately, citing insubordination and misconduct.
Amid the ongoing BP oil spill in July, McKelway covered a Capitol Hill demonstration by environmental groups protesting the influence of oil-industry contributions to members of Congress.
In his piece, McKelway said the sparsely attended event attracted protesters "largely representing far-left environmental groups." He went on to say the protest "may be a risky strategy because the one man who has more campaign contributions from BP than anybody else in history is now sitting in the Oval Office, President Barack Obama, who accepted $77,051 in campaign contributions from BP."
After a brief taped segment updating efforts to cap the BP well, McKelway added that the Senate was unlikely to pass "cap-and-trade" legislation this year, because "the Democrats are looking at the potential for huge losses in Congress come the midterm elections. And the last thing they want to do is propose a huge escalation in your electric bill, your utility bill, before then."

Evidently outraged to see honest reporting where pro-Democrat spin is expected, Lord called McKelway out to the woodshed. Rather than allow the GM to lord it over him, McKelway showed enough integrity to argue back, for which he was punished severely.

With elections coming up, let this be a lesson to any journalists who might take their profession seriously enough to wander off the Democrat reservation.

Here's the report that got McKelway in hot water:

Sorry, I forgot to warn you to have a bucket handy.

From the official synopsis:

Seeing through the eyes of the inhabitants in an apartment-sharing community, we experience the American society which is distressed by the prevailing economical-political chaos, lost in social helplessness — disoriented. People of different origin and political parties find themselves united in the hope for a new beginning. Hence, the battle for the election of the 44th president of the US finds its way into their everyday lives and starts affecting the people in an unprecedented way, letting them share the hope for a better future, despite all the differences. …
From the Puerto Rican Ricardo who has had enough of politics, has lost his job and his home, finding accommodation with the African-American Johnson family, to the ultra conservative widow Mrs. Shultz of German origin and the committed African-American political activist Elaine Johnson — all of them are suddenly caught by a wave of hope for change. This hope is triggered by the rise of the charismatic electoral candidate Barack Obama who restores the people's courage and confidence with his strive for a better world and makes them believe again.
Last but not least, not only do the African-Americans consider Obama as the man who finally unites the American society after all these years. With his message, Obama succeeds in enthusing and thrilling all people from different cultures, religions or skin colors.

Two years past its expiration date, this nauseating joke is making its way from Europe to America. The movie version should come out just in time for Obama's impeachment for gross incompetence and deliberately tearing the country apart.

More Democrat Rebranding: Global BS Eruption

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:16 AM

The pouring of old socialist swill into new bottles continues for the Dems. Having apparently plagiarized a new logo from RIGHTNETWORK, they are now renaming a discredited pillar of their malignant ideology. Obama's Mephistophelian Science Czar John Holdren grabs the spotlight once again:

From the administration that brought you "man-caused disaster" and "overseas contingency operation," another terminology change is in the pipeline.
The White House wants the public to start using the term "global climate disruption" in place of "global warming"…
White House science adviser John Holdren urged people to start using the phrase during a speech last week in Oslo, echoing a plea he made three years earlier. Holdren said global warming is a "dangerous misnomer" for a problem far more complicated than a rise in temperature.

What makes it complicated is that despite all the hysterical lies shrieked in our faces by the liberal establishment, the climate hasn't warmed over the past decade. The advantage of "global climate disruption" is that since weather invariably varies, it can always be used as an evidence that we must pursue Holdren's plans to "de-develop" America lest the seas rise and the polar bears perish.

Guffaws GOP strategist Pete Snyder:

"Are they going to change the name of weathermen to disruption analysts?"

It could have been worse. Apparatchiks at NASA, forced to prop up this preposterous hoax instead of advancing the space progam, floated the moniker "inadvertent climate modification."

A Peek Behind the Curtain of the Wizard of Uhs

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:01 AM

Maybe electing a president based on vacuous hype and ethnicity wasn't such a great idea after all. At NewsFlavor, a White House insider offers us a glimpse behind the crumbling facade of the Moonbat Messiah. If this is legit, it confirms what the level-headed have suspected since before the catastrophic 2008 election. A couple of highlights:

I'll tell you this — if you want to see President Obama get excited about a conversation, turn it to sports. That gets him interested. You start talking about Congress, or some policy, and he just kinda turns off. It's really very strange. I mean, we were all led to believe that this guy was some kind of intellectual giant, right? Ivy League and all that. Well, that is not what I saw. Barack Obama doesn't have a whole lot of intellectual curiosity. When he is off script, he is what I call a real "slow talker". Lots of ummms, and lots of time in between answers where you can almost see the little wheel in his head turning very slowly. I am not going to say the president is a dumb man, because he is not, but yeah, there was a definite letdown when you actually hear him talking without the script. …
When you take away the crowds, Obama gets noticeably smaller. He shrinks up inside of himself. He just doesn't seem to have the confidence to do the job of President, and it's getting worse and worse. Case in point — just a few days before I left, I saw first hand the President of the United States yelling at a member of his staff. He was yelling like a spoiled child. And then he pouted for several moments after. I wish I was kidding, or exaggerating, but I am not. The President of the United States threw a temper tantrum. The jobs reports are always setting him off, and he is getting increasingly conspiratorial over the unemployment numbers. I never heard it myself, but was told that Obama thinks the banking system is out to get him now. That they and the big industries are making him pay for trying to regulate them more. That is the frame of mind the President is in these days.

This farce is not going to end well.

Top Obama Advisor John Holdren Wants to "De-develop" America

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:49 AM

Before you accuse the radicals surrounding Obama of being communists, bear in mind that Science Czar John Holdren wants to "use the free market" to "de-develop the United States."

"A massive campaign must be launched to restore a high-quality environment in North America and to de-develop the United States," Holdren wrote along with Paul and Anne H. Ehrlich in the "recommendations" concluding their 1973 book Human Ecology: Problems and Solutions.

The economic effects of "de-developing" America are about what we've been seeing for the past two years. Maybe Obama has some clue what he's doing after all.

Holdren's scheme isn't all about suppressing economic activity. As always with environmentalism, wealth redistribution comes into play:

"Resources must be diverted from frivolous and wasteful uses in overdeveloped countries to filling the genuine needs of underdeveloped countries," Holdren and his co-authors wrote. "This effort must be largely political, especially with regard to our overexploitation of world resources, but the campaign should be strongly supplemented by legal and boycott action against polluters and others whose activities damage the environment. The need for de-development presents our economists with a major challenge. They must design a stable, low-consumption economy in which there is a much more equitable distribution of wealth than in the present one. Redistribution of wealth both within and among nations is absolutely essential, if a decent life is to be provided for every human being."

I've been to a country with a low-consumption economy and an "equitable distribution of wealth." It doesn't exist anymore, but it used to be called the Soviet Union.

The wild-eyed Malthusian Paul Ehrlich was totally discredited when his predictions that we would run out of most major resources by 1980 or so failed to come true — but not among his fellow antihuman lunatics. Holdren and friends still sing the same evil tune of radical population control and a drastically reduced standard of living. recently asked Holdren what he meant by de-developing America:

Holdren responded: "What we meant by that was stopping the kinds of activities that are destroying the environment and replacing them with activities that would produce both prosperity and environmental quality. Thanks a lot." then asked: "And how do you plan on implementing that?"
"Through the free market economy," Holdren said.

You see? He believes in the free market. Obama's advisors aren't communists after all.

Obama has spent his life surrounded by malignant kooks Holdren.

Several members of the English department accuse Ms. Chávez of abusing her power over students, and allege that the administration retaliated against professors who complained about her extracurricular activities. They also say that the university administration violated a basic principle of shared governance by not entrusting the investigation of Ms. Chávez to a faculty ethics committee.
For her part, Ms. Chávez has accused her accusers, in complaints to the university and the state, of discriminating against her because she is bisexual and Hispanic.

Not only racists but homophobes! For social justice to prevail, all of Professor Jade's detractors must be fired at once, and then forced to submit in her dungeon of dark and deviant delights.

In addition to encouraging students to work in phone sex and posing with them for promotional photographs while simulating sadomasochistic acts, Chávez invited them to raucous parties at her house.

Word escaped of the sexually charged conversations in her creative writing class; in July 2007, some photos of Chávez found their way to the Chairman of the English Department, accompanied by a note signed "appalled parents."

Appalled fellow teachers complained too. Well conditioned by political correctness, the educrats sided with Chávez.

Brenda Claiborne, dean of the university's College of Arts and Sciences, subsequently warned faculty members that if they continued to demand action be taken against Ms. Chávez, they could face negative consequences, including lawsuits for slander or a decision by the university to abolish the entire creative-writing program.

The legal action wasn't long in coming.

Soon after, Ms. Chávez filed a discrimination complaint with the state alleging that the accusations against her stemmed from bias based on her being Hispanic and bisexual.

As for the other teachers who allegedly inflicted this bias, they have been subjected to "administrative threats and various acts of administrative retaliation" for daring to complain about Chávez, who is still on the job teaching and advising students. It looks like the lesson they can take home will be this: no matter what, nonwhites and perverts are always right.

Professor Jade, personifying moonbattery as applied to education.

Hiding From Islam in America

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:08 AM

There aren't many Muslims in America yet , but Islam is already gaining a foothold. The obscene mosque planned for Ground Zero is one indication. Here's another:

A cartoonist has disappeared from public view because she's on an Islamic cleric's hitlist for declaring "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day" last spring, according to a newspaper that ran her drawings.
Seattle Weekly Editor in Chief Mark D. Fefer posted an article Wednesday saying Molly Norris is "moving, changing her name and essentially wiping away her identity" on the advice of the FBI.

Excellent advice: hide in your own country. Kind of reminds you of our government's conception of border security:

Norris's attempts at groveling dhimmitude are unlikely to save her:

The Norris firestorm began last April, when she posted on her blog a cartoon declaring May 20 as "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day." The cartoon, she said at the time, was in response to what she called "veiled" threats against Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of the TV show "South Park," for depicting Muhammad in a bear suit.
Many Muslims believe any depiction of Muhammad is blasphemous, which is how some saw Norris' cartoon.
On her website at the time, she wrote that the cartoon was satire and she did not really mean that May 20 should be "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day."
"I apologize to people of Muslim faith and ask that this 'day' be called off," she said at the time.

If you were swimming and a shark took an interest in you, would you cut yourself in hopes that the shark would be satisfied with a taste of your blood? Apologizing to "people of Muslim faith" is the equivalent. Bullies are not appeased by submission; they are inspired by it.

What does the DHS have to say about it? Probably not much.

Even Dems Sour on ObamaCare Disaster

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:01 AM

A few months ago, Democrats were shrieking that the sky would fall if they didn't seize control of the healthcare industry immediately. But the upcoming election, combined with the public's fervent rejection of ObamaCare, has changed their tune:

Since the beginning of Congress's August recess, Democratic candidates have poured $930,000 into ads deriding the health overhaul but just $300,000 in pro-reform spots, according to Evan Tracey at Kantar Media. …
Moreover, Tracey's data shows that health reform opponents - inside and outside of Congress - are increasingly outspending supporters. Opponents now spend seven times as much on anti-reform spots as supporters spend on pro-reform spots, a marked change from early May, when their dollars only doubled those of reform advocates.
Anti-reform forces, including the Chamber for Commerce, Americans for Prosperity and Crossroads GPS, have spent $14 million on advertisements since early August, Tracey said.
At the same time, pro-reform groups have spent just $1.8 million.

Too bad the ObamaCare abomination has already been rammed through into law. Maybe it can be defunded, eventually even repealed — but this won't be accomplished by electing Democrats, no matter what they say in their ads.

Dems can run from ObamaCare, but they can't hide from voters. Via LOL Pix.

Bitter Half Grouses About Her Tough Job

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:02 AM

Apparently the lot of Michelle Antoinette is tougher than we peasants realize.

Michelle Obama thinks being America's First Lady is 'hell', Carla Bruni reveals today in a wildly indiscreet book.
Miss Bruni divulges that Mrs Obama replied when asked about her position as the U.S. president's wife: 'Don't ask! It's hell. I can't stand it!'

This must explain the sour expression that rarely leaves her face. Apparently not even blowing half a $million on an extravagant vacation in Spain while Americans struggled to pay their taxes could make her miserable job endurable. It can't be easy representing a country she only recently learned to be proud of. The poor darling. Maybe the $2 million she plans to throw at frivolities over the next year will make her oppressive life more tolerable.

Good News for Leftist Bureauweenies

Posted by Dave Blount at 3:04 PM

According to the Communist News Network, a full 25% of the public still trusts the government:

A new poll indicates that only one in four Americans say they trust the government to do what is right always or most of the time, one explanation for the anti-incumbent sentiment in the country today.

According to CNN Polling Director Keating Holland:

"Ten years ago, roughly four in ten said they trusted the government always or most of the time; that number dropped to the mid-to-low 30's in the middle part of the decade [Dems took over Congress in the 2006 election], but then dropped to the 20s in 2008, where it has stayed ever since. The all-time low in CNN polls was in the summer of 1994 — just before Newt Gingrich led the GOP to take control on Capitol Hill — when only 17 percent said they trusted the government most or all of the time."

Now statist bureauweenies get the bad news: The 25% isn't likely to last until November. People are waking up fast.

Muslim Paradise Racked by Inflation

Posted by Dave Blount at 12:58 PM

Dying for the Devil by blowing yourself to bits just so you can hurt some innocent people isn't a terribly appealing concept even for most Muslims. Maybe this will help; Allah has just upped the reward:

Palestinian Authority Hamas legislative Speaker Ahmad Bahr has updated from 72 to 2.5 million the number of virgins waiting for "martyrs" upon their arrival "in the Garden of Eden."
In a recent speech translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Bahr, who is the speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, said the "palace" where the virgins are waiting can be entered "only by prophets, by the righteous, and by martyrs."
Most Muslim preachers and politicians have used the expression "72 virgins" to encourage Arab youth to be ready to die in anti-Israeli terrorist attacks and suicide bombings. Bahr's new arithmetic reasons, "In the Garden of Eden, there is a palace… with 500 gates. At every gate, there are 5,000 black-eyed virgins. Brothers, 500 multiplied by 5,000 is 2.5 million."

Hanoi John Kerry as Secretary of State

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:11 AM

It only seems like the collection of radical leftists, slippery lobbyists, and tax cheats who comprise the Obama Administration could not possibly get any worse.

Shrillary Clinton is an Alinskyite socialist, just like Comrade Obama; but unlike Obama, she's smart enough that if she were captain, she wouldn't sink the ship on purpose, not wanting to go down with it. Because of her interest in being captain and not going down with a sinking ship, she's likely to bail soon on Comrade Obama's farcical presidency. Guess who may replace her as Secretary of State:

Word on Capitol Hill is that Sen. John Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee with a well-worn passport to the world's hot spots, is in the mix to replace Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who's been hinting of an exit before the end of President Obama's first term. Kerry, as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has acted as an emissary for Obama.

Hanoi John Kerry has also acted as an emissary for the anti-American left. Here's what he had to say about our military during the Vietnam War:

…on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command… [American troops in Vietnam] personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.

Here's what he had to say about it during the height of the conflict in Iraq:

American soldiers [are] going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women…

These are examples of treason in spirit. Hanoi John came close to treason by actual deed when he met secretly with the North Vietnamese in Paris, where he represented the Jane Fonda contingent of the useful idiot left.

It's true that his violations of the Logan Act at least gave Kerry some experience in international diplomacy. But with the possible exception of Ms. Fonda herself, a worse choice for Secretary of State would be difficult to imagine. He'll fit right in with Obama et al.

It's Good to Be Queen

Spending other people's money is easy, but some have a special knack for it. This knack runs in the Obama family:

After blowing nearly a half-million dollars on a Spanish shopping spree, MICHELLE OBAMA has plans to spend a whopping $2 million in the coming year — while the nation struggles with its worst recession ever.
Nearly 15 million people are unemployed, but that hasn't stopped the first lady from "spending like Marie Antoinette" and appearing to live it up "like a lottery winner," fume outraged critics.
Worried White House advisers have told the president he quickly needs to get his wife "under control" because her reckless spending — on trips, shopping and redecorating — is sending an intensely negative message to Americans in a bad economy and could undermine his re-election plans.
…Michelle and her entourage recently spent five days in Spain, ringing up some $500,000 in expenses — much of it on the taxpayers' tab, say sources.
On top of that, the stylish first lady "loves top-dollar designer duds and hosting fancy dinner parties," said a Beltway insider. "The bad economy seems to have no effect on her."

To which the mainstream media responds, "She has such marvelously well-toned arms!"

Speaking of Michelle Antoinette's arms, here she shows them off for the cameras at a "National Day of Service and Remembrance" (as moonbat bureauweenies call September 11) event:

Harry Reid, Quintessential Dem

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:14 AM

With the American public having forcefully rejected every aspect of their agenda, even the most arrogant of our liberal rulers are forced to govern by stealth:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Tuesday he will add the DREAM Act, a controversial immigration measure, to a defense policy bill the Senate will take up next week.
The decision means the defense bill, which often passes with bipartisan support, will be home to two major, thorny political issues — the other being the repeal of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

DREAM is another way to provide backdoor amnesty to illegal aliens. Repealing "don't ask, don't tell" is an attempt to turn the Armed Services into a San Francisco bathhouse on behalf of homosexuals and their attorneys.

Many Hispanic voters are angry with Democratic leaders for not doing more to pass an immigration overhaul. The decision by Reid to add the DREAM Act now could help soothe that anger.

That is, Dems are again pandering to privileged, politically correct minorities at the expense of everyone else.

In other Dingy Harry news that typifies our arrogant ruling class,

Clean, Green Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid rolled up to the Clean Energy Summit in Las Vegas, Nevada last week… in a fleet of giant SUVs.
The Heartland Institute reports that while the Senate Majority Hypocrite "and other high-profile environmental activists blasted carbon-based fuels at the Reid-sponsored summit, Reid and other bigwigs were caught on film driving to and from the summit in several SUVs." …
Reid's arrogance is routine in Washington where pols ride in Secret Service-provided GMC Yukons and Chevy Suburbans while denouncing SUVs as wasteful transportation to the peasants.

Lib Supreme: Burning Koran Not Protected by First Amendment

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:56 AM

Moonbats are quick to squawk about Constitutional liberties when it comes to preventing terrorists from being interrogated effectively or helping them to build an obscene Victory Mosque at Ground Zero. But when it comes to burning the Koran, suddenly the Constitution does not apply. Here's how Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer figures it:

"[Oliver Wendell] Holmes said it doesn't mean you can shout 'fire' in a crowded theater. Well, what is it? Why? Because people will be trampled to death. And what is the crowded theater today? What is the being trampled to death?"

To translate into straight talk, Breyer is saying that the First Amendment does not protect speech that might cause Muslims to get violent. That is, the First Amendment does not protect any speech that Muslims don't like.

Did I mention that this authoritarian dhimmi idiot is on the Supreme Court?

NY Times Attack on Boehner Revealed as Farcical

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:51 AM

As Comrade Obama rallies his loyal liberal media minions against John Boehner, who accuse him of wallowing in lobbyist cash, the Washington Examiner points out the following:

• Nancy Pelosi has raised almost twice as much money from lobbyists this election as Boehner has.
• At least 18 House Democrats have raised more lobbyist cash this election than Boehner has.
• Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid have pocketed more lobbyist cash in the past 18 months than Boehner has raised in the past 6 elections, combined.

The NY Slimes spins that Boehner's ties to lobbyists "seem especially deep." Passing off the way things "seem" as factual reporting is a specialty of this dying rag. In reality, Boehner has pocketed under $40,000 this election cycle — compared to Pelousy's $71,000. Since 1999, Boehner has received $299,490…

For comparison, Harry Reid, Blanche Lincoln, and Chuck Schumer have each raised more money from lobbyists in this cycle alone.

As usual, the NY Times counts on people to accept its word without referencing any actual facts, secure in the knowledge that its smelly stew of impressions, half-truths, spin, and sanctimonious posturing will be dutifully picked up by the rest of the dinosaur media and established as official reality. The problem is, ever more people are figuring out that our ruling class does not mean us well, and are finding ways around official reality to get at the truth.

Stimulus Loot Spent on Teaching Africans to Wash Their Privates

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:51 AM

Not all of the hundreds and hundreds of $billions our malignant rulers have been looting from future generations and flushing away in the name of "stimulus" has been as flagrantly wasted as the $30 million spent to enhance the living conditions of rodents in Nancy Pelosi's district. For example, $800,000 was spent teaching Africans how to wash their genitals:

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), spent $823,200 of economic stimulus funds in 2009 on a study by a UCLA research team to teach uncircumcised African men how to wash their genitals after having sex.
The genitalia-washing program is part of a larger $12-million UCLA study examining how to better encourage Africans to undergo voluntary HIV testing and counseling — however, only the penis-washing study received money from the 2009 economic stimulus law.

It's nice to see that bureauweenies aren't throwing our money around indiscriminately.

Entitled "Community-Based HIV VCT: South Africa," the name of the broader umbrella project, the program plans to test how well received the penis-washing regimen is among South African men.
If most of the men in the study wash their genitals after sex, are willing to do so after the study ends, and report that their partners accept the regimen, the researchers will develop another study to see if the "penile cleansing procedure" actually works to prevent HIV infections.

No doubt this will require more "stimulus" funding.

One reason cancer doesn't get cured is that research funding increasingly comes from the government, which only cares about politically correct issues like Africans with venereal diseases.

The study's lead investigator Dr. Thomas J. Coates was the fourth highest-funded researcher in the country in 2002 and is currently conducting HIV research on three continents.

Next they'll blow another few $million that we don't have to spend on a study to find ways that cleaner genitals in Africa might somehow stimulate the American economy.

Sorry, liberal trolls. No picture with this one.

Feisal Abdul Rauf: Ground Zero Is Not Hallowed Ground

Our media tells us that America is "intolerant." Yet no one has applied a can of Raid to 9/11 Victory Mosque Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who now sneers that Ground Zero is not hallowed ground:

The imam leading the effort to build an Islamic community center and mosque near ground zero says there is a "misperception" that the proposed site is sacred ground.
Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf said Monday that the location where the center would be built, two blocks from the World Trade Center, has a strip joint and betting parlors nearby. He says it's "absolutely disingenuous" to suggest that it is "hallowed ground."

What's absolutely disingenuous is pretending that gambling and exotic dancers have anything whatsoever to do with Muslims murdering 3,000 Americans in the name of their satanic death cult, and other Muslims building a shrine at the site.

The liberal government/media establishment should have consulted a PR firm before entrenching itself on this insect's side. There can't be many decent Americans left who don't hate its guts at this point.

Even Cuba Turns Away From Socialism

Meanwhile, 90 miles away, Comrade Obama continues to hire armies of useless bureaucrats at grotesquely inflated salaries while the economy sinks into a hapless mire of socialism.

Big Government: Fat People Cost Too Much

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:59 AM

Packing a few too many pounds? Then maybe, with the government taking over the healthcare industry, we'd all be better off if you were eliminated:

Reducing the number of Americans who have a Body Mass Index that rates them as "obese" would cut per capita health care spending by 4 percent in the United States over the next 10 years, says a new study from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).
"Because lower rates of obesity are associated with better health and lower health care spending per capita, there is considerable interest in devising policies that would reduce the fraction of the population that is obese," said the CBO in the report released this week.

Healthcare costs have been rising more rapidly for the overweight than for others, which the CBO attributed in part to medical advances in dealing with health problems that are obesity related. That's a problem ObamaCare should help cure. An objective of Obamunists was to prevent potentially expensive advances in medical technology.

On balance, the CBO concluded that the cost benefits "might" make it worthwhile to use public money to pursue policies aimed at making Americans lose weight.

When it comes to expanding bureaucratic control — which is obviously the whole point of government involvement in the healthcare system — there's no "maybe" about it. Costs to others will be used to justify all manner of intrusions into what we can eat and how we must live. Remember the exercises Winston Smith had to do in front of his telescreen? Big Brother wasn't about to let him go out for a cheeseburger afterward.

As previously reported, the Department of Health and Human Services issued regulations in July that require the electronic health records all Americans are supposed to have by 2014 (under the terms of the economic stimulus law signed by President Barack Obama last year) to include each individual's Body Mass Index.

On Monday evening, the president will welcome collegiate star athletes to the White House for a reception at 5:45 p.m. …
On Wednesday the First Couple will don black tie for the annual Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute gala…
Hopefully the Obamas get some rest Thursday or Friday, because they will be back in formalwear on Saturday night for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's (CBCF) annual Phoenix Awards dinner.

After the Hispanic dinner and the black dinner comes the dinner for normal people who just think of themselves as Americans and don't expect any special privileges from Big Government at everyone else's expense based on their ethnicity. Record Increase in Poverty Under Obama

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:20 AM

No one can doubt that Democrats love the poor. They show it by advancing policies certain to make the poor more numerous — thereby expanding their base of support. From this perspective, Comrade Obama isn't a failure at all:

The number of people in the U.S. who are in poverty is on track for a record increase on President Barack Obama's watch, with the ranks of working-age poor approaching 1960s levels that led to the national war on poverty.
Census figures for 2009 — the recession-ravaged first year of the Democrat's presidency — are to be released in the coming week, and demographers expect grim findings.
It's unfortunate timing for Obama and his party just seven weeks before important elections when control of Congress is at stake. The anticipated poverty rate increase — from 13.2 percent to about 15 percent — would be another blow to Democrats struggling to persuade voters to keep them in power. …
Should those estimates hold true, some 45 million people in this country, or more than 1 in 7, were poor last year. It would be the highest single-year increase since the government began calculating poverty figures in 1959. The previous high was in 1980 when the rate jumped 1.3 percentage points to 13 percent during the energy crisis.

Remember what happened toward the end of 1980? The public finally got fed up with Jimmy Carter's moonbattery, replaced him with Ronaldus Maximus, and ushered in what liberals derisively refer to as the Decade of Greed — that is, years of prosperity.

Demographers also are confident the report will show:
_Child poverty increased from 19 percent to more than 20 percent.

Next time a liberal bleats, "What about the chiiiiiiildren," you have your answer.

_Blacks and Latinos were disproportionately hit, based on their higher rates of unemployment.

How's that Hopey Changey thing working for people of color? Poorly enough to keep many of them home on election day.

Beginning next year [i.e., after the election], the government plans to publish new, supplemental poverty figures that are expected to show even higher numbers of people in poverty than previously known. The figures will take into account rising costs of medical care, transportation and child care, a change analysts believe will add to the ranks of both seniors and working-age people in poverty.

Once the election is behind them, Dems will actually exaggerate the poverty their eat the rich policies are inflicting, as a pretext for still more spending and still more government dependence, which will keep the vicious cycle of socialism rolling along, as people become convinced that there are no jobs and therefore no alternative to government cheese.

But there will be jobs if we can get Big Government off America's back.

Moonbats and Patriots in California's Capital

September 11 still brings out patriots who are unlikely to forget the Muslim atrocities of 9 years ago. As they grow bolder in expressing their depraved and treasonous inclinations, it increasingly brings out moonbats too, as we saw over the weekend, and not only at Ground Zero. In California:

During an interfaith service at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in downtown Sacramento, local spiritual leaders led a service of blessing for the Quran. …
The Saturday evening service featured readings from Hebrew, Christian and Muslim holy writings. Several dozen people placed roses on the Quran, in front of the main doors to the cathedral.

Americans blessing the Koran, particularly at this time of year, is the equivalent of Jews blessing a copy of Mein Kampf. Apparently 3,000 dead didn't get the message across. When jihadists get ahold of nukes, it will be more like 3,000,000. Maybe that will be sufficient.

Fortunately, fertilizer isn't the only thing to be found between people's ears in Sacramento, which also saw a 9/12 rally yesterday:

The Unchanging Face of Islam

Posted by Dave Blount at 3:40 PM

There are two differences: In 1000 AD, no one would have tolerated liberal quislings in positions of authority siding with the Muslims, or Western Civilization would have ceased to exist centuries ago, just as many great civilizations in the Middle East ceased to exist when they fell to this barbarous cult. Also, in 1000 AD, Muslims weren't in the process of acquiring nuclear weapons.

Obama's Eyes Are on 2012 Prize

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:00 AM

Evidence accrues that Comrade Obama continues to defy the public he supposedly represents by imposing overwhelmingly unpopular policies because he doesn't care if his party loses Congress this fall. The lefties at Time, who helped hype him into office, discuss the ostensible decline of Obama's Organizing for America machine:

What happened to Barack Obama's once vaunted political machine? The outfit that put upwards of 8 million volunteers on the street in 2008 - known as Organizing for America - is a ghost of its former self. Its staff has shrunk from 6,000 to 300, and its donors are depressed: receipts are a fraction of what they were in 2008. Virtually no one in politics believes it will turn many contests this fall. "There's no chance that OFA is going to have the slightest impact on the midterms," says Charlie Cook, who tracks congressional races.
Neglect is to blame. After Obama was elected, his political aides ignored the army he had created until it eventually disappeared.

Like ACORN, OFA is unfortunately not really dead, but lying low beneath its rock until it is called forth for the Manchurian Moonbat's big comeback in 2012:

So earlier this year, when the White House gave OFA a whopping $30 million - more than half of the party's entire budget for 2010 - senior Democrats suspected a hidden agenda. Several tell Time that OFA boss David Plouffe, who ran Obama's 2008 campaign, is using the cash to rebuild an army for 2012 under the cover of boosting turnout in 2010. OFA is putting staff into such states as Virginia, North Carolina and Arizona, which have few close statewide races this fall but which are all prime targets in an Obama re-election campaign. "This is totally about 2012," Cook says.

What everything is totally about with Obama is Obama. November's congressional cannon fodder will be a small price to pay for ObamaCare, the biggest lurch toward totalitarian collectivism since FDR. So long as the king is on the throne, all is copacetic. "Community organizing" will be taken to new extremes of unsavoriness in 2012 to keep him there, as the Injustice Department's refusal to prosecute the New Black Panthers for voter intimidation makes clear.

In the meantime, Obamunists in the media will be glad to condition the public with two years of stories about stodgy old white guys in Congress preventing the Historic First Mulatto President from saving the world if grownups do manage to take control of the legislative branch.

Multiculturalism Collapses in Belgium

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:26 AM

Here's how multiculturalism is working out in liberal Belgium:

A top Belgian politician warned the country's citizens on Sunday to "get ready for the break-up of Belgium," as King Albert II seeks to relaunch knife-edge coalition talks.
Leading francophone Socialist Laurette Onkelinx, considered a potential successor to party chief Elio Di Rupo, who gave up on negotiations with separatist Flemish leaders on Friday, gave her prognosis in a newspaper interview. …
Albert II tasked late on Saturday the respective speakers of Belgium's French-speaking Wallonia and Dutch-speaking Flanders state parliaments to try once more to navigate seven-party talks aimed at securing some form of government, other than the existing day-to-day formation.
That came after seven weeks of efforts by Di Rupo, who says that the biggest Flemish party, the independence-minded New Flemish Alliance (N-VA), rejected the widest set of concessions towards full autonomy for Flanders in Belgium's tortured recent history.
Belgium, which holds the rotating presidency of the European Union until the end of the year, adding a further layer to the pressure on the sovereign, has not been able to point to a stable government since June 2007.

Adding to the chaos is the status of the capital Brussels:

While located within Flanders' borders, Brussels is officially bi-lingual, although recent studies have shown accelerating numbers of registered French speakers, including the nearly one-in-three who hail from abroad.
Tens of thousands of Flemish people, meanwhile, took part on Sunday in an annual demonstration which consists in symbolically "encircling" Brussels by bike or on foot, to remind locals that they are surrounded by Flanders.

However, importing enough Third World colonists to make America bi-cultural will work out much more smoothly, because we already have a plan for what to do when the country inevitably splits apart. We'll just cede the Southwest to Mexico, like this:

Some Perspective on the BBQ Koran Spectacle

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:17 AM

Just to provide a little perspective on the hyperbolic outrage even the conservative media has sanctimoniously wallowed in since Terry Jones misguidedly made a point by threatening to burn a few Korans, here's what was happening to the last few Bibles in territories controlled by Palestinians in 2007:

After defeating their rivals in Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement, Muslim extremists are focusing their attacks on Christians in Gaza City. Christians in Gaza City have issued an appeal to the international community and a plea for protection against the increased attacks by Muslim extremists.
Father Manuel Musallem, head of Gaza's Latin church, told the AP that Muslims have ransacked, burned and looted a school and convent that are part of the Gaza Strip's small Romany Catholic community. He told the AP that crosses were broken, damage was done to a statue of Jesus, and at the Rosary Sister School and nearby convent, prayer books were burned.
Gunmen used the roof of the school during the fighting, and the convent was "desecrated," Mussalem told the AP.
"Nothing happens by mistake these days," he said.
Father Musalam additionally told The Jerusalem Post that the Muslim gunmen used rocket-propeled grenades (RPGs) to blow through the doors of the church and school, before burning Bibles and destroying every cross they could get their hands on.

Of course, there are big differences. One is that Jones presumably wouldn't be burning someone else's Korans. Another is that no one in the media much cares about burning Bibles. But unlike Christianity, the malignant superstitions of backwards brutes must be ostentatiously revered.

Government Admits Medical Costs Will Rise Under ObamaCare

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:12 AM

So now that our children and grandchildren will be paying $billions upon $billions to let Big Government seize control of the healthcare system, costs will come down for us as promised, right? On the contrary:

The health-care overhaul enacted last spring won't significantly change national health spending over the next decade compared with projections before the law was passed, according to government figures released Thursday. …
Regardless of the health law, national health spending has been rising in recent years and economists expect that to continue. In February, the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services projected that overall national health spending would increase an average of 6.1% a year over the next decade.
The center's economists recalculated the numbers in light of the health bill and now project that the increase will average 6.3% a year, according to a report in the journal Health Affairs. Total U.S. health spending will reach $4.6 trillion by 2019, accounting for nearly one of every five U.S. dollars spent, the report says.

That's what the government says. If you want the real costs, multiply by 17 or so. In 1987, the government predicted that Medicaid would cost less than $1 billion in 1992. The actual cost turned out to be $17 billion.

At least Obamanomics may cause out-of-pocket medical expenses to decline:

In the next year, spending from private health insurance is expected to grow while out-of-pocket medical costs decline because more people will stay on Cobra insurance coverage for the unemployed, the report said.

Much of ObamaCare doesn't kick in until 2014, when the Nationalizer in Chief won't have to worry about running for office again. Consequently,

U.S. health spending is projected to rise 9.2% in 2014, up from the 6.6% projected before the law took effect.

As noted previously, the cost of healthcare insurance has already started shooting upward.

Unless you are a power-drunk bureaucrat, there is no significant upside to the disaster known as ObamaCare. Our only hope is to elect a Congress that will defund the debacle.

Conservative Club Shut Down by Educrat

Posted by Dave Blount at 4:04 PM

What's the difference between an American college campus and a socialist police state? Increasingly, the answer is: not much.

(Lake Worth, FL) On Tuesday September 7, 2010 at around 11:00am one Palm Beach State College (PBSC) student and two Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) members, state chairman Daniel P. Diaz and state vice chairman Eddie Shaffer, were shut down and had campus police called on them after tabling and recruiting during club rush at the College. The PBSC student, Christina Beattie, had received prior permission from college administrator Olivia Ford-Morris to promote her organization on campus via telephone and email communication.
On the day of club rush, officials approached the group and after seeing information about the organization and its ideals criticizing Barack Obama's economic policy. Ms. Ford-Morris was visibly disturbed by the material presented, published by the Heritage Foundation, criticizing President Obama's administration. College officials then called the campus police to assure the group left campus. Ms. Ford-Morris denied having ever talked to Ms. Beattie about giving permission to the organization to be a part of PBSC club rush.
"I was shocked and offended by her dishonesty. She outright denied giving me permission to table at Club Rush simply because she disagreed with my beliefs! The fact is, she was using her administrative power to silence the conservative opposition." said Christina Beattie.

US Shoveling Money at Mexico to Drill in Gulf

Posted by Dave Blount at 12:44 PM

Even if Comrade Obama is throwing thousands out of work by closing down off-shore drilling in the Gulf, at least Mexicans get to drill for the oil. We even shovel $billions at them to do it:

The U.S. Export-Import Bank, an independent federal agency, loaned more than $1 billion to the Mexican state oil company PEMEX in 2009 to support the company's oil drilling in the southern Gulf of Mexico. The bank has another $1 billion in loans in the pipeline for 2010, unless Congress objects.
On May 27, after the British Petroleum oil spill, President Obama imposed a moratorium on U.S. deepwater drilling in the Gulf, effecting 33 deepwater drilling rigs in the region.

The purpose of the loans is to get Mexico to drill more oil in the Gulf so that we can pay to import it. Why don't we just drill oil in the Gulf ourselves, creating more jobs and saving us a fortune? Apparently that would oppress the polar bears.

Burning Koran Bad, Burning Bible Fine

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:43 AM

Everyone has heard about the pastor of a tiny church in Florida who plans to inflame the media on September 11 by burning some Korans. Fewer know about the Bibles that have already been burned in Afghanistan — by the US Army. At the time, David Brody commented:

The Pentagon has confiscated a stack of Bibles sent to an Evangelical soldier in Afghanistan. The Bibles were printed in the local Pashto and Dari languages. Military rules forbid proselytizing. By the way, the Bibles were burned because the rules on the base say that all garbage is burned at the end of the day. But just asking here; if the U.S. Military seized a stack full of Korans, would they be burned? You think that might cause a little outrage in the Muslim world?

Why no outrage in the Christian world? Because by now the anti-Christian ruling class has conditioned us to accept Bibles being regarded as trash — whereas Korans are sacred to Muslims and liberals alike.

Not a big deal, like burning Korans.

ChiComs Inflict Rolling Blackouts in the Name of Global Warming Hoax

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:21 AM

Our liberal rulers have made no secret of their admiration for communist China — and no wonder. Once we have "fundamentally transformed" our way into a similar system of government, it will be a cinch to meet energy-saving targets on behalf of the flourishing polar bears:

Chinese steel mills and mobile phone factories are being idled and thousands of homes in one area are doing without electricity as local governments order power cuts to meet energy-saving targets set by Beijing.
Rolling blackouts and enforced power cuts are affecting key industrial areas. The prosperous eastern city of Taizhou turned off street lights and ordered hotels and shopping malls to cut power use. In Anping County southwest of Beijing, an area known as China's wire-manufacturing capital, thousands of factories and homes have endured daylong blackouts over the past two weeks.
"We can't meet deadlines for some orders and will have to pay penalties," said Han Hongmai, general manager of Anping's Jintai Metal Wire Co. "At home we can't use the toilet" on blackout days due to lack of power for water pumps, he said.

As always, ham-fisted government coercion is backfiring.

Han, the manager in Anping, said his wire factory coped by purchasing its own generator. So it still uses power - but from a source that might be dirtier and less efficient.

But the important thing is for China's rulers to be able to boast at international conferences that they've done their part to make people suffer on behalf of the global warming hoax.

Actually, polar bears couldn't care less whether the lights are on in China.

ObamaCare Already Causing Insurance Prices to Rise

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:25 AM

Only the severely cognitively challenged could have failed to realize that ObamaCare would drive up the cost of medical insurance. But just to get it on the record:

Health insurers say they plan to raise premiums for some Americans as a direct result of the health overhaul in coming weeks, complicating Democrats' efforts to trumpet their signature achievement before the midterm elections.
Aetna Inc., some BlueCross BlueShield plans and other smaller carriers have asked for premium increases of between 1% and 9% to pay for extra benefits required under the law, according to filings with state regulators.
These and other insurers say Congress's landmark refashioning of U.S. health coverage, which passed in March after a brutal fight, is causing them to pass on more costs to consumers than Democrats predicted.

In equally surprising news, Thursday came right after Wednesday this morning.

Many carriers also are seeking additional rate increases that they say they need to cover rising medical costs. As a result, some consumers could face total premium increases of more than 20%.

The response from the statist thugs imposing ObamaCare was equally predictable:

The White House says insurers are using the law as an excuse to raise rates and predicts that state regulators will block some of the large increases.

Here's an idea: why don't our rulers demand that insurers provide full coverage for everyone for free? The concept should make sense to socialists who have never grasped that money can't keep going out faster than it comes in forever.

White House Names Asian Carp Czar

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:27 AM

Here's a clue that the federal government is getting a little oversized — we now have an Asian Carp Czar:

The White House has tapped a former leader of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and the Indiana Wildlife Federation as the Asian carp czar to oversee the federal response to keeping the invasive species out of the Great Lakes.
On a conference call today with Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin and other congressional leaders, President Obama's Council on Environmental Quality announced the selection of John Goss to lead the near $80 million, multi-pronged federal attack against Asian carp.

Only $80 million? Why so stingy? "Investing" in the War on Asian Carp is sure to stimulate the economy at least as much as sticking up American Recover and Reinvestment Act signs along every roadside in the country.

The Carp Czar takes a power nap.

Fidel Castro Gives Up on Communism

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:29 AM

The moonbats running the media and the federal government are virtually the only people left on the planet who still believe in communism — now that even Fidel Castro has given up on it:

Fidel Castro told a visiting American journalist that Cuba's communist economic model doesn't work, a rare comment on domestic affairs from a man who has conspicuously steered clear of local issues since stepping down four years ago.
The fact that things are not working efficiently on this cash-strapped Caribbean island is hardly news. Fidel's brother Raul, the country's president, has said the same thing repeatedly. But the blunt assessment by the father of Cuba's 1959 revolution is sure to raise eyebrows.
Jeffrey Goldberg, a national correspondent for The Atlantic magazine, asked if Cuba's economic system was still worth exporting to other countries, and Castro replied: "The Cuban model doesn't even work for us anymore" Goldberg wrote Wednesday in a post on his Atlantic blog.

Other than imploding Venezuela and frozen in amber North Korea, the USA — known as the Land of Liberty prior to Obama's "fundamental transformation" — is the only country on earth moving toward the dysfunctional nightmare of communism rather than away from it.

It's never too late to learn.

Chaos After Cop Dares Shoot Drunken Knife-Wielding Reconquistador

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:50 AM

Here's a preview of what the Southwest will look like if Barack Obama, Robert Rodriguez, et al. succeed in their objective of radicalizing the Hispanic illegal aliens who continue to inundate the region:

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police Chief Charlie Beck pleaded for calm and vowed his department would conduct an exhaustive investigation into a bicycle officer's fatal shooting of a drunken day laborer with a knife.
But his words did little to dissuade demonstrators, who spilled into the streets for a second straight night Tuesday — some to pray and light candles and others to pelt a police station near downtown Los Angeles with eggs, rocks and bottles.

Twenty-two arrests were made last night. On Monday, four were arrested for inciting a riot and throwing rocks and bottles at police. Here's what got the colonists riled up:

Guatemalan immigrant Manuel Jamines, 37, was shot twice by a police officer Sunday afternoon near MacArthur Park, a poor neighborhood packed with recent immigrants from Central America. …
Beck said the incident involving Jamines started when someone flagged down three bicycle officers to tell them a man was threatening people with a knife.
The officers approached the suspect and told him in Spanish and English to put down the weapon. Instead, Jamines raised the knife above his head and lunged at Officer Frank Hernandez, a 13-year veteran of the department, Beck said.
Eyewitness accounts from six civilians, nine police personnel and two fire department staff indicate Hernandez fired twice "in immediate defense of life," Beck said. Jamines, 37, died at the scene.
Investigators recovered a bloody, 6-inch knife at the scene but didn't know where the blood came from.

No doubt everything would have been fine if Officer Hernandez had just given Jamines a hug.

"The officer who did this should be subject to discipline and a thorough investigation," said Juan Flores, 39, a cook at a downtown restaurant who knew Jamines.

Sure enough, Hernandez is under investigation for protecting the public from a maniac.

Dick Durbin Expresses His Concern for Those Crushed by Big Government

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:42 AM

What does the federal government's ham-fisted expropriation of the entire student loan industry to help finance ObamaCare mean for students of private colleges? The No. 2 Democrat in the Senate Dick Durbin offers a clue. Pardon his language:

[S]tudents at the Illinois Institute of Art — a player in the burgeoning for-profit education industry that Durbin has been assailing of late — say they're offended by the way the assistant Senate majority leader dismissed their concerns about a proposed new government regulation that would severely limit their eligibility for federally subsidized grants and loans.
"I don't give a tick's sh*t about I-L-I-S or any of these other guys," witnesses say Durbin told sign-carrying student-protesters on a downtown Chicago sidewalk, referring generally to for-profit colleges and specifically to the Illinois Institute of Art-Schaumburg (for which "ILIS" was the acronym printed on many of their T-shirts).

Durbin also accused the protestors of being paid to be there — a familiar projection from liberal politicians who rely on union astroturfing to turn out bodies to support their malignant agenda. As for whether Durbin had a solution for students at for-profit schools who will no longer be able to afford tuition because of targeted loan and grant restrictions on them, the answer is no.

Every time Big Government gains an inch of ground at the expense of the free market, it uses it for leverage to take another yard. To deny that the ultimate objective is complete government control of everything — i.e., Soviet-style totalitarian collectivism — would be naive.

America stood up to the British Empire, Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, and the Soviet Union. Now it is being conquered from within by insects like Dick Durbin.

Hartford City Council Remembers 9/11

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:51 AM

Here's how Hartford, Connecticut's City Council will be remembering the Muslim atrocities of September 11 this month:

The Council announced Tuesday that it has invited local imams to perform Islamic invocations at the beginning of the Council meetings in September.
An e-mail from the Common Council called it "an act of solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters."

The sanctimonious moonbats' purpose is to provoke patriots on behalf of their Muslim allies, as they explicitly acknowledge in referring to the Ground Zero mosque obscenity.

The email even referenced the ongoing issue in New York. "One of the goals of the Council is to give a voice to the many diverse peoples of the City, which is especially important given the recent anti-Islam events throughout the country."

The myth of anti-Islam activity has been cherished by useful idiots ever since September 12, 2001. While few care that American flags are burned in Muslim countries on a daily basis, they will be milking the planned Koran bonfire in Florida for years.

One hundred forty-nine Connecticut residents lost their lives to Islam on 9/11. It makes liberals feel warm, fuzzy, and "inclusive" to side with their murderers. Local bureauweenies exploit this for political advantage.

If there is anything more sickening than political correctness, I've never been exposed to it.

As of 2012, normal light bulbs will be outlawed in the Land of the Free, due to a deal crony capitalists at General Electric worked out with corrupt congresscritters behind a smokescreen of preposterous enviromoonbat posturing. Instead, we will be forced to use flickering, expensive, child-unfriendly, and possibly carcinogenic compact fluorescent bulbs. These contain mercury, and therefore constitute a biohazard.

What to do with the old bulbs, since they're too toxic to throw in the trash? Could they charge you with terrorism if you mail them to your representative in Congress?

Now there's a bright idea.

My Skills My Bankrupted Future

Posted by Dave Blount at 4:14 PM

At last Big Government is doing something about the unemployment situation other than exacerbate it by sucking money out of the private sector with pork-laden make-work projects. The Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration has set up a website entitled My Skills My Future. All you have to do type in your previous job title, click the button, and out comes a list of jobs for you.

Unfortunately, the site won't be much help to the Manchurian Moonbat after the Hopey Change nightmare is over — as this slightly modified screen cap attests:

How-To Manual for Molesting Children

Posted by Dave Blount at 2:09 PM

The ACLU, NAMBLA, et al. can boast of another victory in the Culture War:

A 170-page manual explaining step by step how to molest children which police in Orange County, Fla., believe has been circulating there for months, is not illegal. …
"I've never seen anything like it. It was pretty amazing when I first saw it just because how detailed it was," Orange County Sheriff's Office Det. Philip Graves told ABC News Orlando, Fla., affiliate WFTV.
The manual, which was apparently written by someone who calls himself "the mule," is a how-to of child molestation, even explaining where and how to find potential victims, the station reported.
"I was more amazed that someone would be as bold as to create an actual 170-page document that would detail how to do it," he said.

It's not quite as bold as building a 13-story mosque at Ground Zero, but still pretty bold.

Among the many disturbing topics covered in the book is how to convince a victimized child not to tell his or her parents.

Get used to it or get in gear to fight it. Once the job of coercively normalizing homosexual depravity has been completed, our liberal ruling class will keep pushing the envelope, probably toward pedophilia, which will be less likely to cause friction with their Muslim allies.

Old Glory Forbidden Lest Someone Feel "Uncomfortable"

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:30 AM

Building a 13-story shrine to terrorism at Ground Zero is one thing. But according to some, flying American flags from your pickup in a Denver suburb goes too far:

A high school student in Northglenn is upset that campus security told him to remove the large American flags flying from his pickup truck because it might make others uncomfortable.

By "large," they mean 3' x 5'.

"She [a campus security goon] said I should take my flags down. She said this is a school that focuses on diversity and she doesn't want anyone to feel uncomfortable," [Jeremy] Stoppel said. "How do you suppose anyone would feel uncomfortable in America with an American flag? That's where I'm confused."

If he really doesn't understand the moonbat reaction to the American flag, he must have never seen the parallel phenomenon of vampires cringing in fear and loathing at the sight of a crucifix in the movies.

The mention of "diversity" should have given him a clue. The word refers to the totalitarian repression of anything liberals don't like.

Once again we see that pushing back works. After Jeremy and his father sounded off instead of backing down, the school's principle, possible smelling something in the wind, has been praising Old Glory and has promised to have a talk with the security supervisor.

But No One Told Me Not to Electrocute My Nipples

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:40 AM

America's lawyer infestation is approaching the terminal stage, to judge from the latest utterly insane money grab:

An American student whose heart stopped after he deliberately electrocuted himself in a science class is suing his teacher for not warning him it was dangerous.
Kyle Dubois, 18, is also taking legal action against the school district and the city of Dover in New Hampshire.

Kyle, his parents, and their lawyers have their hands out for a big taxpayer-financed payoff:

They are seeking compensation for medical expenses, lost income due to time away from work and other damages related to the incident, which occurred on March 11.
Dubois attached an electrical clamp to one nipple while another student attached another clamp to the other. A third student plugged in the cord.
Dubois was critically injured and his legal team claim he has suffered permanent brain damage.

If this idiot and his greedy kin are allowed to loot even a single penny, we'll know our entire civilization has suffered brain damage.

The suit claims that a teacher dared him to put the clamps on his nipples, but Dubois himself denies this.

If only King Solomon were still around. In his wisdom, he would surely call for the parents and their lawyers to take a turn with the clamps, with a little extra voltage.

All you need to win free money.

Britain's Welfare State: The Model of Unsustainability

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:24 AM

Moonbats like to use the word "unsustainable." How's this for unsustainable?

A jobless couple rake in £95,000 in state benefits a year — and even have breakfast delivered to the door each morning, courtesy of the taxpayer.
The money — five times the starting salary of a teacher — goes to unemployed Pete and Sam Smith and their ten children, who live in a rentfree four-bedroom house.

After trashing their last house, the Smiths were moved to a large £1,000-week house last month. The new accommodations do not meet with their requirements:

Mrs Smith, 36, complained that the house was too small, the breakfast portions too stingy and said she could afford to buy her brood only one Nintendo Wii games console between them.
She claims she is also forced to pay £100 a week to keep her five cats in a cattery.
'It's very cramped here,' she told the News of the World. 'We've been told we might not be given a new house for another nine months, which is ridiculous.
'The breakfast supplied by the council isn't like proper hot food. It's usually eggs, beans, tinned tomatoes and cereal, which isn't really enough for us all and we have to heat it up ourselves.'

The Smiths haven't worked since the mister resigned from the Army in 2001. Why would they? In a country run by progressives, not working is far more remunerative.

The total with child benefits is £44,954. They then receive a £950-aweek bed-and-breakfast deal where the council pays for breakfasts delivered to their home, which comes to £49,400 — a total of £94,354 a year.

In exchange, taxpayers don't even get gratitude. Welfare parasites are like Muslims, race grievance mongers, and all the rest of the opportunistic vermin that thrive under liberalism — the more you give them, the more strident their indignant demands.

Allama Obama

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:12 AM

Congratulations to Pakistani bureaucrat Ayatullah Durrani for figuring out how to solve all of Muslims' many problems — have Comrade Obama declare himself World Caliph:

A Pakistani minister wants US President Barack Obama to offer Eid prayers at Ground Zero in New York and become the "Amir-ul-Momineen" or Caliph of Muslims.
Minister of State for Industries Ayatullah Durrani, who belongs to the ruling Pakistan People''s Party, said the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr festival, expected to be observed on September 11, would be a "golden opportunity" for Obama to offer Eid prayers and declare himself the leader of all Muslims.
"In this way, all the problems of the Muslim world would be solved," Durrani told The Nation newspaper.
Durrani, a former member of the Pakistan Ideological Council, contended that the Muslim world is in "dire need" of a Caliph and occupying this distinguished slot would provide Obama "exemplary titles" like "Mullah Barack Hussain Obama" or "Allama Obama".

What else can BHO strive for, having already won the Nobel Peace Prize? Becoming Caliph would be unlikely to alter his policies as President, since it would be hard to shovel our money at Muslims any more avidly. Under Mullah Obama, we are already paying $millions to restore mosques around the world, shoveling an extra $7.5 billion at Pakistan and $400 million at Palestinian terrorists, and probably bailing out Afghanistan's largest bank. Don't worry, the next generation will pick up the tab for everything.

Injustice Department Sues Employers for Asking to See Green Cards

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:49 AM

How hostile is the Obama Regime to employers? As hostile as it is to immigration enforcement, as this bizarre revelation makes clear:

Employers who hire illegal immigrants can be fined, but the Obama administration warned this week that they also can be fined for asking legal immigrants to show their green cards before hiring them.
The Justice Department's civil rights division sued the Maricopa County Community Colleges in Arizona, seeking damages from schools for having "intentionally committed document abuse discrimination." … Requesting a green card amounts to "immigration-related employment discrimination," said Thomas E. Perez, the assistant attorney general for civil rights.

Then what is the point of even issuing green cards? There is no point; when it comes to immigration, everything our rulers do is a charade. Their purpose is to swamp the country with tens of millions of unskilled Third World peasants who wouldn't give a bent peso for America's sacred principles of liberty and self-reliance, thus ensuring a socialist majority. Everything that does not advance this purpose is deliberately rendered ineffective.

Not that Big Government won't take every opportunity to scapegoat employers and kick them in the teeth:

On one hand, employers have been told they need to do more to verify that their workers are legal and authorized to work in the United States. Federal immigration law says hiring "an unauthorized alien" can result in fines of up to $3,000 per worker. However, another provision of the same law bars employers from requesting "more or different documents" than are needed to prove a noncitizen's legal status.

With moonbats in charge, the game is rigged. No matter what they do, the "malefactors of great wealth" (as progressives have always characterized employers) are screwed — as we all are. Lie on your back and cry for the government to stick a free nipple in your mouth, and the ruling class will stroke your hair and coo that you're oppressed. Do anything else, and you will be punished.

Obviously it is not possible to do business with authoritarian leftists running the federal government. This is why no significant economic recovery is possible until both Congress and the White House have been flushed.

Comrade Obama's New Rug

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:41 AM

Obamunists manage to mess up everything, from the ruined space program high above to the rug beneath the Manchurian Moonbat's feet:

President Obama's new presidential rug seemed beyond reproach, with quotations from Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. woven along its curved edge.
"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice."

That quote is attributed to MLK. In reality, it was said by antebellum reformer Theodore Parker.

Other Obama rug quotes have been collecting on Twitter, including these:

"From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs." — Thomas Paine
"Workers of the world, unite! You have nothing to lose but your chains!" — Thomas Jefferson
"I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody." — Thomas Jefferson
"Show me the money!" — Mother Theresa
"I feel we didn't do enough." — Bill Ayers
"I can no more disown (Jeremiah Wright) than I can disown the black community." — BHO
"It's … above my paygrade." — BHO

Looks like they'll need a new rug. Here's a concept from Air2air:

Beat Whitey Night Deemed Not Racial

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:04 AM

What a relief. Remember all the folks who were assaulted at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines on Beat Whitey Night? Authorities have determined there was no racism involved. A spokeswoman who suggested otherwise has been punished.

After a report filed by Sgt. Dave Murillo noted that 30 to 40 goons were loping around the fairgrounds assaulting the innocent and crowing that it was "Beat Whitey Night," Sgt. Lori Lavorato committed a thought crime by telling the media,

"It's all under investigation, but it's very possible it has racial overtones."

No doubt Murillo's report has gone down a memory hole now that top brass has declared there to be no evidence the assaults were racially motivated. This should be obvious, when you remember that only white people can be racist. If you disagree, then you are a racist.

Having been reassigned to the lowly traffic division, Lavorato is losing her take-home unmarked police car and the extra pay she got for always being on call. She can be thankful she wasn't banished to Siberia.

Cloward-Piven Spending Spree Continues

Posted by Dave Blount at 11:27 AM

Obviously our economy cannot sustain still more government spending. But with grown-ups poised to take control of Congress, Democrats continue to shovel money in a frenzy, knowing that if they dig us into a deep enough hole, there will be no climbing out.

From the Wall Street Journal:

The Obama administration on Tuesday will launch its most ambitious effort at reducing mortgage balances for homeowners who owe more than their homes are worth.
Officials say between 500,000 and 1.5 million so-called underwater loans could be modified through the program, the first initiative to target homeowners who are current on their mortgage payments but are at risk of default because they have no equity in their homes. …
Under the new "short refinance" program, banks and other creditors that write down mortgages to less than the value of the property can essentially hand off the reduced loan to the government. The process involves refinancing borrowers into loans backed by the Federal Housing Administration.

Readers will recall that Democrats meddling with the housing market through the Community Reinvestment Act is what caused the financial collapse of 2008 in the first place. But in case forcing taxpayers to pick up the tab for bailing out as many as 1.5 million mortgages isn't enough to finish off the economy, Dems are preparing another "stimulus" package (although they won't call it that):

If past experience tells us anything, the actual package, when announced will include some spending to placate unions and liberals who believe that the Obama stimulus was, in fact, too small.

Apparently Dems have already lost the leverage to push through massive $800,000,000,000 pork extravaganzas. Yet the bleeding continues. There will be a great deal of economic pain when the full reckoning comes for Obamunist profligacy. Fortunately for Congressional Democrats, they will be out of office by then.

Mao-Worshiping Obamunist Anita Dunn: Stimulus Worked

Great news: Obama's obscenely pork-bloated "stimulus" spending spree worked after all. We know it's true, because no one denies it. Take it from former top Obama Administration official and open admirer of genocidal dictator Mao Zedong, Anita Dunn:

"Nobody denies the stimulus worked."

Hear it for yourself:

Dung was wasted as Communications Director. She ought to have Winston Smith's job. From 1984:

As short a time ago as February, the Ministry of Plenty had issued a promise (a 'categorical pledge' were the official words) that there would be no reduction of the chocolate ration during 1984. Actually, as Winston was aware, the chocolate ration was to be reduced from thirty grammes to twenty at the end of the present week. All that was needed was to substitute for the original promise a warning that it would probably be necessary to reduce the ration at some time in April.

Likewise, all Dung has to do is substitute the grim reality of Obama's refusal to get his boot off the neck of the private sector long enough for the economy to recover with preposterous lies.

Driving Over the Children Americans Won't Drive Over

The driver, Mehran Khamseh, 45, of Santa Barbara, was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, police said.
Khamseh was being held without bail in Ventura County Jail on Wednesday on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury, misdemeanor being under the influence of a controlled substance, a parole hold and an immigration hold, jail records show.

The immigration hold means that yet another maniac driver has destroyed American lives while in the country illegally.

Khamseh was convicted in 2008 of felony charges for making terrorist threats and petty theft. Yet he remained in the USA, like countless others like him.

Swing Sets Banned to Ward Off Lawyer Swarms

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:17 AM

According to our liberal rulers, American children suffer from an epidemic of obesity. The solution: attack corporations that make food for children. Meanwhile, the pathologically greedy locust swarm of lawyers that bankrolls the Democrat Party prevents children from doing anything but gawping at the idiot box. The latest:

Swings are being removed from Cabell County schools in southern West Virginia in part because of lawsuits over injuries.
Cabell County schools safety manager Tim Stewart said Wednesday that a lot of parents are accusing him of being un-American, but he says the cost of maintaining a safe surface is too expensive.
Stewart says a lawsuit in the past year involved a youngster who broke his arm jumping off a swing like Superman. It was settled for $20,000.

Appallingly, Sean Hannity took to the airwaves yesterday proclaiming that banning swing sets is good because children might hurt themselves. Next will be bicycles, then skateboards, then roller skates, et cetera, ad nauseam, until shoes are banned because if children wear them, they'll be tempted to go outside, where something bad might happen. In the near future, an American child will look something like this:

But everyone will be safe, that's the important thing — right up until they keel over from heart disease at age 30, offering lawyers an excellent opportunity to sue the manufacturers of whatever they've been eating.

The Limits of Dutch Tolerance

The Dutch will literally destroy their own country with their famous tolerance by allowing its hostile colonization by hordes of Muslims — but being ruled by liberals, they won't go so far as tolerating Christianity:

"If it'd said 'Allah Akbar', the council wouldn't have dared to try and remove it," says Marianne Bons, a member of the Dutch Reformed Protestant Church. She's talking about a farm roof on which 'Jesus saves' is painted in enormous letters. The council says the text has to go. The farm's owner, evangelical Christian Joop van Ooijen, is refusing to obey. The affair has united Christians of all persuasions behind the message.
"You're allowed to believe in anything in this country, as long as it's nothing to do with Christians or the Church," says Ms Bons, describing the prevailing Dutch attitude to religion.
Mr Van Ooijen has held out for two years, refusing to remove the message from his roof. Giessenlanden local council is fining him 500 euros a week, but he refuses to pay. He has been fighting the council decision for two years and says he's willing to go to the European Court if necessary.

Good luck getting anything but coercive moonbattery out of the European Court. Bons and Van Ooijen live in Holland's Bible Belt; culturally, it is light years away from the liberal authoritarians who sanctimoniously preside over Europe's decline.

Federal Bureauweenies Crack Down on Chuck E. Cheese

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:36 AM

One front in Big Government's war on free enterprise is a bizarre intimidation campaign intended to browbeat companies that market food kids like.

The Federal Trade Commission is once again handing out subpoenas to companies that market food to children and teens.
Three years after initially delivering what is technically known as "orders to file special report" to 44 marketers, the FTC last week began sending subpoenas to 48 companies in order to prepare a follow-up to its 120-page report issued in 2008, "Marketing Food to Children and Adolescents: A Review of Industry Expenditures, Activities and Self-Regulation."
"This is a follow-up to measure the effects that self-regulation has had over the last three years," said Carol Jennings, spokeswoman for the FTC's Division of Advertising Practices/Bureau of Consumer Protection. "We are supportive of industry voluntary efforts to limit their marketing to kids and this will see whether more is needed." …
A handful of marketers that received subpoenas in 2007 were left off the 2010 list, presumably because they have limited their marketing to children. Twelve companies on this year's list are new, but 36 companies are once again receiving subpoenas — including Yum Brands, which was called out by FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz in a December 2009 speech in which he said, "Many companies that market heavily to children and teens have yet to join or make a commitment. Why, for instance, hasn't Yum Brands, with its KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut chains, stepped up? Or Chuck E. Cheese and IHOP? Or the marketers of Air Heads and Baby Bottle Pops?"

Our rulers will hardly lift a finger to protect children from Muslim terrorists or the violent chaos spilling over the unguarded Mexican border. But at least kids will be kept safe from Chuck E. Cheese.

Chuck E. Cheese had better stop appealing to kids.

James Lee Awarded Nobel Prize

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:05 AM

Anyone can regurgitate the antihuman environmentalist propaganda relentlessly rammed down our throats by Al Gore and rest of the liberal elite ruling class, but James Jay Lee went a step beyond, and actually acted on it. For that he has been posthumously awarded the Nobel Peace Prize:

Compliments of Air2air.

Just kidding, of course. But if communist dictators, traitors, Arab terrorists, con artists, and nonachieving boobs can win this Cracker Jack prize, why not a dead enviropsycho?

Injustice Department Backs Slacker Muslims

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:06 AM

Islam surely has a friend in our government. While our rulers' plans to use our money to help build a massive shrine to Islamic terrorism at Ground Zero get most of the attention, countless other stories play out in the shadows — like this one:

Federal officials say a JBS Swift & Co. meatpacking plant should give Muslim employees prayer time and not retaliate against workers who ask to pray. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a lawsuit Monday on behalf of more than 80 Somali Muslims. …
Hundreds of Muslim workers walked off the job at the Grand Island, Neb., plant during Ramadan in 2008, saying they needed time to pray at sunset and break a day-long fast. Management adjusted the work schedule the next day. Non-Muslims protested and the accommodations ended.

The accommodations ended for now, that is. Eight-six Muslims were fired for walking off the job, but they'll be back, as will their special privileges. We infidels will just have to work a little harder to pick up the slack.

Try to imagine Christians refusing to work because they're too busy praying, getting fired for walking out, then having the full force of the federal government come crashing down on the employers on their behalf.

Setting aside liberals' hilariously hypocritical doubletalk about religious freedom, the situation is clear: for whatever reason, our government is an eager participant in the same global effort to impose Islam that produced 9/11.

Deval Patrick Wishes It Weren't a Free Country

Posted by Dave Blount at 8:10 AM

From WTKK in Boston, here's what David Axelrot-designed Barack Obama prototype Deval Patrick, Governor of Taxachusetts, has to say about Glenn Beck holding his inspiring and wildly successful Restoring Honor rally at the Lincoln Memorial on the anniversary of MLK's famous speech:

It's a free country. I wish it weren't, but it's a free country.

Not to worry, Patrick. With folks like you in charge, it won't be a free country for long.

James Jay Lee: Ecomoonbattery Reaches Full Flower

Posted by Dave Blount at 5:00 PM

Stuff enough malignant lies into the brains of unhinged halfwits and it is only a matter of time until you end up with a few cases like James Jay Lee:

A man known for protesting the Discovery Channel's environmental programming stormed the network's Maryland headquarters carrying a handgun on Wednesday, holding three people hostage for hours until he was shot and killed by police, according to authorities. …
The suspect was identified by Discovery Communications as James Jay Lee of San Diego, Calif., a man well-known to the building's employees because of his history of protesting the network.

Sounds like one of those demonic right-wingers our Director of Homeland Security warned us about. Maybe the Tea Party has boiled over into violence, just as the media has so stridently predicted.

Then again, maybe Lee was a moonbat — like virtually all public menaces.

A website registered to Lee criticized Discovery and announced plans for the protest in January 2008: "These guys have been very sneaky and deceptive as to their contribution to the planetary problems. Just look at their 'new' show about saving the planet, 'Planet Green,' to me, it's just another show about more PRODUCTS to make MONEY, not about actual solutions. We can't let them get away with doing it anymore."

Capitalists who won't stop producing PRODUCTS we want just to make MONEY obviously must be stopped. That's what our kids are taught in school, anyway.

Lee is believed to have distributed a manifesto outside the Discovery building several weeks ago that called on the network to "broadcast to the world their commitment to save the planet."

When a moonbat starts barking about "saving the planet," anyone he bites should be tested for rabies. How did this kook get such crazy thoughts in his head?

Lee reportedly said he began working to save the planet after being laid off from his job in San Diego. He said he was inspired by "Ishmael," a novel by environmentalist Daniel Quinn and by former Vice President Al Gore's documentary "An Inconvenient Truth."

Discovery Communications is about as ecomoonbatty an outfit as you will find. One of its channels even runs "Whale Wars," a program dedicated to glorifying the terrorist activities of sociopathic hippy pirates who sabotage whaling vessels. But to a moonbat, moonbattery could never go far enough.

Happy, Prince Albert? Your global warming crisis has finally claimed a victim.

See how many favorite liberal themes you can find in these highlights from Lee's manifesto:

The Discovery Channel MUST broadcast to the world their commitment to save the planet and to do the following IMMEDIATELY:
…Focus must be given on how people can live WITHOUT giving birth to more filthy human children since those new additions continue pollution and are pollution. …
All programs on Discovery Health-TLC must stop encouraging the birth of any more parasitic human infants and the false heroics behind those actions. In those programs' places, programs encouraging human sterilization and infertility must be pushed. All former pro-birth programs must now push in the direction of stopping human birth, not encouraging it. …
All programs promoting War and the technology behind those must cease. …
Civilization must be exposed for the filth it is. That, and all its disgusting religious-cultural roots and greed. Broadcast this message until the pollution in the planet is reversed and the human population goes down! …
Find solutions for Global Warming, Automotive pollution, International Trade, factory pollution, and the whole blasted human economy. Find ways so that people don't build more housing pollution which destroys the environment to make way for more human filth! Find solutions so that people stop breeding as well as stopping using Oil in order to REVERSE Global warming and the destruction of the planet! …
Talk about Evolution. Talk about Malthus and Darwin until it sinks into the stupid people's brains until they get it!! …
For every human born, ACRES of wildlife forests must be turned into farmland in order to feed that new addition over the course of 60 to 100 YEARS of that new human's lifespan! THIS IS AT THE EXPENSE OF THE FOREST CREATURES!!!! All human procreation and farming must cease! …
Saving the environment and the remaning species diversity of the planet is now your mindset. Nothing is more important than saving them. The Lions, Tigers, Giraffes, Elephants, Froggies, Turtles, Apes, Raccoons, Beetles, Ants, Sharks, Bears, and, of course, the Squirrels.

Of course, the Squirrels.

Readers will note that his frenzied hostility to human reproduction is common among the environmental cognoscenti (see here and here and here). As Lee illustrates so floridly, liberal environmentalism is not just foolish and irritating: it is an antihuman and therefore evil ideology. Anyone who takes it seriously is a potential maniac.

If only Lee had obeyed the sign instead of turning left.

Moonbat Tech: Trade Sewage for Music

Posted by Dave Blount at 12:44 PM

The morbid enviromoonbat obsession with human waste never stops:

So you've got a situation where you've got little or no running water. You've got a no-toilet sort of place, and that place is also in a community that's either poor or completely broke. What do you do? You look for a way to get rid that waste, but not only that, a way to turn that waste into energy. What Noa Lerner's got here is a way to do that, by rolling a barrel full of poop down the road, trading it in for boombox time! It's the X-Runner!

In this inspiringly multicultural video, a citizen of the world trades a barrel of toilet waste for energy to run his radio:

A bit more in detail: Each of these toilet barrels is sealed and nano-coated in a way that allows them to be used for a week at a time without emptying or cleaning. Once it's time to empty, the barrel is brought by an individual or a multi-barrel service to the local Biogas Plant. Once there, waste is traded for energy in the form of cooking gas, warm water for showers, or electricity. All of these forms of energy are generated by processing the human waste at the Biogas Plant. … Welcome to the future of energy!

Here's an idea: why don't we make houses out of waste? Welcome to the future of construction! Wait, someone already thought of that:

You see how much we have to learn from the Third World?

Moonbat Professor Calls for Forced Sterilization

Posted by Dave Blount at 10:38 AM

After Germans got carried away applying progressive ideology to the Jewish Question, the movement has backed away from eugenics, limiting its genocidal proclivities to the aggressive promotion of abortion. But to this day, if you scratch a liberal (as progressives now call themselves), you will often find a Nazi. For example, Professor David Marsland wants to save the children by preventing them from existing:

Marsland, Emeritus Scholar of Sociology and Health Sciences at Brunel University, London and Professorial Research Fellow in Sociology at the University of Buckingham, told the BBC that "permanent sterilization" is the solution to child neglect and abuse.
"Children are abused or grossly neglected by a very small minority of inadequate parents." Such parents, he said, are not distinguished by "disadvantage, poverty or exploitation," he said, but by "a number or moral and mental inadequacies" caused by "serious mental defect," "chronic mental illness" and drug addiction and alcoholism.
"Short of lifetime incarceration," he said, the solution is "permanent sterilization."

As for the tiresome topic of basic rights:

He dismissed possible objections based on human rights, saying that "Rights is a grossly overused and fundamentally incoherent concept … Neither philosophers nor political activists can agree on the nature of human rights or on their extent."

To put it more succinctly, "To hell with human rights."

Marsland's views are not exactly novel among the liberal elite.

Brian Clowes, director of research for Human Life International, told LifeSiteNews that in his view Professor Marsland is just one more in a long line of eugenicists who want to solve human problems by erasing the humans who have them. Clowes compared Marsland to Lothrop Stoddard and Margaret Sanger, prominent early 20th century eugenicists who promoted contraception and sterilization for blacks, Catholics, the poor and the mentally ill and disabled whom they classified as "human weeds."

Sanger maintains a prominent role in the liberal pantheon to this day. Shrillary Clinton is the proud recent recipient of the Margaret Sanger Award. Elsewhere in our progressive government, Obama's Science Czar John Holdren has advocated coercive sterilization.

Marland rests his case against the sanctity of human life with an argument beloved by environmentalists, averring that "there are too many people anyway."

As their sneering contempt for life and liberty makes obvious, what they have been doing to our economy is only the beginning of the evil liberals will inflict if they are not dislodged from power.

Please check with Marsland to be sure you're fit before having kids.

UCLA Cans Professor James Enstrom for Thought Crimes

Posted by Dave Blount at 9:31 AM

Under a hard tyranny, if professional intellectuals fail to toe the official line, they are imprisoned or killed. What happens to them in a soft tyranny? Ask Dr. James Enstrom, a professor at UCLA who has been fired for thought crimes:

Enstrom, an epidemiologist at UCLA's School of Public Health, … says his studies show no causal link between diesel soot and death in California — findings that … set him far apart from the pack and put him in direct conflict with the California Air Resources Board [CARB], which says its new standards on diesel emissions will save 9,400 lives between 2011 and 2025 and will reduce health care costs by as much as $68 billion in the state.

Sure. Slashing the tires of the trucking industry will save the state $zillions. Truck exhaust makes people keel over by the thousands. Now for reality:

The expected benefits of the new standards have been used to justify their estimated $5.5 billion price tag, which opponents say will cripple the California trucking industry at a time when the state can least afford it. The new standards, the critics warn, also could set the stage for national regulations.
Enstrom questions the science behind the new emissions standards, and he has raised concerns about the two key reports on which they were based — exposing the author of one study as having faked his credentials and the panel that issued the other study as having violated its term limits.

State bureauweenies are as ham-fistedly repressive as their allies at UCLA:

Robert McClernon, president of the California Dump Truck Owners Association, which opposes the diesel standards, says the officials who support them are "systematically quieting down anybody that's against what they're doing," and that Enstrom was just their latest target.
"We go to the board meetings and Mary Nichols will give someone else 15 minutes to talk and will limit us to three," McClernon told, referring to CARB Chairwoman Mary Nichols, who is a former UCLA professor. "It's so one-sided it almost makes you sick to be involved in it, but of course we have to be involved in it because it's our livelihood."
McClernon, who owns a dump truck company in Sacramento, said the regulations not only make it too expensive for companies like his to maintain their fleets but also devalue the trucks they currently own, paralyzing their ability to get loans.

One month after coauthoring an op-ed for expressing his concerns with these obviously pernicious regulations, Enstrom got a letter stating that he was getting canned because his "research is not aligned with the academic mission of the Department."

That academic mission: to help the moonbats running California use faulty science and phony environmentalist posturing to destroy the state's economy, with the rest of the country soon to follow it down the drain. Out of the ruins will arise a collectivist utopia, in which the inequalities unavoidably associated with freedom will never trouble us again, and enlightened experts will make all our decisions for us. Surely such a glorious end justifies any means.

John Cusack Sputters Satanic Death Threats

Posted by Dave Blount at 7:57 AM

The repulsively squishy and utterly unhinged Obamunist John Cusack is not taking the decline and fall of the Moonbat Messiah well:

If I'm making any sense of Cusack's subliterate moonbattery, he seems to be calling for violence against those he perceives as not conforming to his loony left ideology.

Worries Beverly Hills psychiatrist Carole Lieberman:

His provocative tweets could easily incite a rabid fan to commit violent acts against Fox News Headquarters and others he names.

Hopefully even the most deluded lunatics will know better than to take Cusack's ravings seriously. Here he is claiming that capitalists threaten the New Deal by torturing people for profit:

But in this war, it's the first one hundred percent outsourced war, so right now we have more contractors there than troops, so maybe in the future congress won't even have to declare war, because it can just get private contractors and mercenaries and we can just exempt them from international law, right?
That's what is really happening right now in the country and they even outsource interrogation, which means they made interrogations a cost plus for profit business, so that means the torture is for profit. That is what is happening right now in our country, so I mean these people are insane and that's the truth of it. They are insane and I would love to hear one or any of the Democratic candidates talk about that and talk about this new economy and what that means. They are outsourcing what it means to be a state and what it means to be a government. That's not just destroying the new deal, that's destroying the country…

Cusack will soon star in a movie about a maniac whose murders are based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe. Unfortunately Cusack appears to draw his actual inspiration from the less wholesome writings of his fellow contributors to the Huffington Post.
