Religion Professor Fired for Agreeing With Christian Doctrine

Here is how close liberals have already brought us to totalitarianism:
The University of Illinois has fired an adjunct professor who taught courses on Catholicism after a student accused the instructor of engaging in hate speech by saying he agrees with the church's teaching that homosexual sex is immoral.
The professor, Ken Howell, of Champaign, said his firing violates his academic freedom. He also lost his job at an on-campus Catholic center.
Howell, who taught Introduction to Catholicism and Modern Catholic Thought, said he was fired at the end of the spring semester after sending an e-mail explaining some Catholic beliefs to his students preparing for an exam.
"Natural Moral Law says that Morality must be a response to REALITY," he wrote in the e-mail. "In other words, sexual acts are only appropriate for people who are complementary, not the same."
In today's climate, expressing agreement with fundamental church doctrine constitutes an unforgivable thought crime. Since ours is a soft tyranny, Howell wasn't shipped to Siberia or stood up in front of a firing squad. The desired effect on freedom of thought was achieved just by destroying his career.
"My responsibility on teaching a class on Catholicism is to teach what the Catholic Church teaches," Howell said in an interview with The News-Gazette in Champaign. "I have always made it very, very clear to my students they are never required to believe what I'm teaching and they'll never be judged on that."
His students weren't judged — but Howell sure was.
There are good reasons homosexuality has been regarded as unclean throughout the world and throughout history. Religion aside, it disgusts normal people for the same reason coprophagy does; both are extremely bad for your health. Yet our depraved rulers demand that we embrace it.
Since Christianity conflicts with their perverted agenda, Christianity will have to go. They don't quite have the leverage to ban it in a single stroke. So they hollow it out from inside, gradually replacing it with the vapid, shallow, degenerate ideology currently known as liberalism.
Next we'll learn that the Sixth Commandment is hate speech, because it is insensitive to women who exercise their "Constitutional right" to rid themselves of inconvenient babies.
