Item #2: Kicking Organic Food Snobbery Up a Notch

Posted by Gregory of Yardale at June 15, 2010 4:35 AM

Now that even Wal-Mart is selling organics, the food snobs of the left had to figure out a way to maintain their narcissistic perception of moral ecological superiority. They have done so by creating a new level of food snobbery one step above organic, it's called "authentic."

To have an "authentic" label, food would have to be sold directly by the person or family who grew it -- no middleman. "Fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, eggs, and meat [would be] produced within a 50-mile radius of their place of final sale," Coleman wrote, suggesting possible standards. "The seed and storage crops (grains, beans, nuts, potatoes, etc.) [would be] produced within a 300-mile radius." Only "traditional processed foods" -- cheese, bread, wine -- could claim to be "made with authentic ingredients."

Moonbat one-upmanship. It's what they do instead of, you know, useful stuff. I think if we keep pushing them, eventually they'll have to eat dirt.
