Soaring costs force Canada to reassess health model. And that's the Reuters headline, for Set's sake. So, you know it's a soft-pedal.
Pressured by an aging population and the need to rein in budget deficits, Canada's provinces are taking tough measures to curb healthcare costs, a trend that could erode the principles of the popular state-funded system.
Why are the people in power determined to take the USA down a course that has led other countries to bankruptcy? Is it stupidity, malice, or some combination of both? Explain your answer.
Extra credit: Identify any country in the world where Government involvement in health care has led to lower costs and higher quality of service.
