Portland, Ore. -- Portland police say they investigated allegations that former Vice President Al Gore had "unwanted sexual contact" with a massage therapist during an October 2006 visit, but they found insufficient evidence to support the woman's claims.
The article goes onto say that the matter was "handled civilly" and the woman declined to pursue charges. "Handled civilly" sounds like a payoff to me, but it's also possible the woman was just a flake.
One thing's for certain; if Dick Cheney or Dan Quayle had been subject to similar allegations, the MFM would be covering it wall-to-wall and the late night monologue jokes would be endless, regardless of how the case was disposed. But Gore will get a pass once again.
