Tobacco Companies Outsmart Eurocrats

Posted by Gregory of Yardale at May 8, 2010 11:22 AM

Eurotopia has placed a ban on tobacco companies sponsoring or advertising in any sports related event. But some companies have figured out a clever way to work around the ban using clever graphic design. (After the break)

As a bonus, media coverage of the stunt provides free advertising to the tobacco companies; which is probably more effective publicity than the initial sponsorship gambit.

I find smoking to be a loathsome and disgusting habit, but I despise the superstate more. I also wonder what is up with people who cheer for legalizing marijuana while demonizing tobacco companies? Maybe the tobacco companies should start selling marijuana; then progressives would love them, right?

I just want the world to have some reason and consistency to it; to make some freakin' sense for a change.
