The (9th) Circus Is Coming to Town

Posted by The MaryHunter at May 19, 2010 8:45 AM

The 9th Circus Kangaroo Court has a way of making headlines, year after year. George Will offers one of the most astute slap-downs of these clowns who claim to be an arm of the justice system:

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is a stimulus package for the Supreme Court, which would rather not have one. The 9th Circuit, often in error but never in doubt, provides the Supreme Court with steady work: Over the past half-century, the 9th has been reversed almost 11 times per Supreme Court term, more than any other circuit court. This week, the Supreme Court should spank it again and ask: Is it too much to ask that you pay some attention to our precedents?

The whole Will piece is a great read. The case about which the 9th is sure to be dope-slapped involves the *sigh* establishment clause, and there is SCOTUS precedent aplenty in support of the Arizona school voucher program in question. And yet, these morons in the nation's most overturned Court of Appeals just can't resist taking another good slap at religion, or pretty much anything the Founding Fathers respected.

Perhaps we can just pack them all into a car and send them off to a banana republic. I hear there's a great market for court jesters in Venezuela.
