Obama's Top Counterterror Advisor John Brennan Praises Jihad

Posted by Dave Blount at May 28, 2010 10:55 AM

Comrade Obama had better hope the 9/11-scale terror attack he's been inviting doesn't happen prior to November 2012. Otherwise he will be in for a humiliation at the ballot box that will make Mondale's 49-state trouncing in 1984 look like a close contest. No matter how hard his lackeys in the media spin, people are going to remember stories like this:

The president's top counterterrorism adviser on Wednesday called jihad a "legitimate tenet of Islam," arguing that the term "jihadists" should not be used to describe America's enemies.
During a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, John Brennan described violent extremists as victims of "political, economic and social forces," but said that those plotting attacks on the United States should not be described in "religious terms."

Brennan is the guy who refers to Israel's capital as "al-Quds" — the name Jerusalem will have if Muslims ever succeed in killing off all the Jews. This dhimmi is so clueless, he even denounced his own job title:

He repeated the administration argument that the enemy is not "terrorism," because terrorism is a "tactic," and not terror, because terror is a "state of mind" — though Brennan's title, deputy national security adviser for counterterrorism and homeland security, includes the word "terrorism" in it.

Then what do we call atrocities like 9/11? Oh that's right, "man-caused disasters."

Our counter–man-caused disaster strategy: make sure not to name the enemy, in hopes that not admitting that they're real will make them go away.

"Nor do we describe our enemy as 'jihadists' or 'Islamists' because jihad is a holy struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam, meaning to purify oneself or one's community, and there is nothing holy or legitimate or Islamic about murdering innocent men, women and children," Brennan said. …
Brennan argued that it would be "counterproductive" for the United States to use the term, as it would "play into the false perception" that the "murderers" leading war against the West are doing so in the name of a "holy cause."

But they indisputably are waging war against the West in the name of Islam. Denying it isn't just cowardly and foolish; it's insane — but no crazier than putting clowns like Brennan and his boss in charge of the country.
