Australia Pays Climate Change Bureaucrats $90M a Year to do Nothing

In case you had any doubt that the Global Manbearpig Crisis was anything other than a scheme for politicians to give jobs and power to their environmentalist comrades, the Government of Australia under left-wing earwax connoisseur Kevin Rudd established a Climate Change Department, which has no formal regulatory duties until 2013 but nevertheless employs 400 bureaucrats at a cost of $90,000,000 a year.

Taxpayers will fork out $90 million a year to keep more than 400 public servants employed within the federal Climate Change Department - despite most now having nothing to do until 2013.
More than 60 of them are classified as senior executive staff on salaries between $168,000 and $298,000 a year. Their salary bill alone will cost an estimated $12 million every year.

The country is actually better off with bureaucrats doing nothing, considering their job is to sacrifice Australia's economy and standard of living on the altar of Gaia.

Cap and Trade Legislation pushed by Democrats envisions similar gigantic regulatory bureaucracies in the USA.
