Michael Steele Plays the Race Card Again
Posted by Dave Blount at April 5, 2010 9:49 AM
Like our Community Organizer in Chief, there is no way RNC Chairman Michael Steele would hold his current position if not for his race, which makes it all the more galling when he pulls out the race card to defend his ineptitude — as well as Comrade Obama's:
Embattled Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said he won't resign despite calls for him to step down amid reports of the group's excessive spending, adding that he and other African-American leaders such as President Obama have a slimmer margin of error because of their race.
This isn't his first offense.
During a recent interview with Washingtonian Magazine, which took place before the sex-club controversy, Steele said, "I don't see stories about internal operations of the DNC that I see about this operation. Why? Is it because Michael Steele is the chairman, or is it because a black man is chairman?"
Conservativism is about liberty, not race. If we allow liberals to make everything skin deep, they win, we lose — because only corrupt authoritarians will use coercion and expropriation to benefit some races at the expense of others. If being a racist is bad, then being color blind is good; that means you have to earn your position with what's inside your skin.
Time to close Steele's account.
