Man of the People

Since Kendrick Meek's Senate campaign in Florida is foundering in the mid-teens to low twenties in the polls, Democrats are desperate to recruit a stronger candidate. They think they may have found one in Jeff Greene. Jeff Greene is the ideal candidate to appeal to middle and working class voters... he's a billionaire who made his fortune by shorting the real estate market Goldman-Sachs style. Yeah, there's a guy who understands the problems of regular voters. You know, the outrageous rates for yacht insurance. The chronic headache of insolent butlers. The antiquated air traffic control system that keeps your G5 in a holding pattern for twenty minutes. The outrageous price of arugula at Whole Foods.

But mainly, the irony of the Democrats trying to recruit a candidate who got rich off the same schemes they're prosecuting Goldman-Sachs for... it's so sweet it must be fattening.
