Pelosi Hisses & Spits at Health Insurance Companies
Posted by The MaryHunter at March 24, 2010 11:12 AM
Despite an utterly dismal 11% favorability rating, Nancy Pelosi is now flexing her newly-revived, catlike muscles (no insult intended to cats) with reckless abandon. Her latest target: a hissy fit at the health insurance industry.
Asked if insurance companies might raise their rates on health coverage and blame the increases on the new health-care bill, Pelosi said that the insurance companies should be aware that they're not "automatically included" in the new health exchanges the bill creates.
"Unless they do the right thing, they're not going in," she said. "They will be relinquishing the possibility of having taxpayer-subsidized consumers in the exchange," she said.
Nevermind the fact that ObamaCare as signed actually does not "guarantee that kids with health problems would not be shut out of coverage." The dirty truth is that everything about ObmaCare is aimed at raising insurance rates for private companies. Allowing coverage with pre-existing conditions is but one factor, which would necessarily increase rates in any sane economic system because the overall risk would increase in the insured population. However, under insane Obamanomics, the hapless insurance companies will be forced out of business whether they raise their rates or not.
If the above quote from the Evil Empress doesn't qualify as a confession that the goal of ObamaCare is socialized medicine under a single-payer system, It's not clear what would.
