Governor Moonbeam Still a Socialist Clown
Posted by Gregory of Yardale at March 1, 2010 4:39 AM
A few years back, California enacted the USA's most Draconian environmental laws (AB 32) aimed at limiting the life-sustaining gas CO2 in the name of the now-discredited Theory of Global Warming. It is estimated that AB 32 will cost California 1,000,000 jobs, devastate food production in key agricultural regions (see also, Delta Smelt) and do absolutely nothing to improve the environment.
Some sensible Californians put forth a commonsense ballot initiative that would suspend AB 32 until the state's double-digit unemployment fell below 5.5%. Not as good as a full repeal, but a step in the right, commonsense, direction.
But, Attorney General Jerry "Governor Moonbeam" Brown stripped the "California Jobs Initiative" of its title and replaced it with something that makes it sounds like a bad Simpsons' joke. (And lately, is there any other kind?)
On 03 February 2010, (The California Jobs Initiative) was renamed by Attorney General Jerry Brown to: SUSPENDS AIR POLLUTION CONTROL LAWS REQUIRING MAJOR POLLUTERS TO REPORT AND REDUCE GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS THAT CAUSE GLOBAL WARMING UNTIL UNEMPLOYMENT DROPS BELOW SPECIFIED LEVEL FOR FULL YEAR. INITIATIVE STATUTE.
Fantastic. We've got Jimmy Carter 2.0 in the White House, and now another failed seventies politician is making a comeback. What a country! At least no one tried to scam trillions off the killer bee scare.
