If this is true, Michael Steele Needs to Go

At a time of record deficits, it's not good form for the head of the Republican Party to be wasting money on chic hotels and ---- am I reading this right --- bondage-themed nightclubs?

A February RNC trip to California, for example, included a $9,099 stop at the Beverly Hills Hotel, $6,596 dropped at the nearby Four Seasons, and $1,620.71 spent [update: the amount is actually $1,946.25] at Voyeur West Hollywood, a bondage-themed nightclub featuring topless women dancers imitating lesbian sex.

A for effort, Michael... but I still don't think you're going to get Bill Maher to join the Republican Party.

He also reportedly wanted to use RNC funds to buy a private jet. Who does he think he is? Al Gore?

There may be legitimate explanations for all these expenses, but it does look pretty bad.
