Gov. Patterson's Trailer Trash

New York's most egotistical and worst governor ever is probably a bit resentful over the ObamaCare craziness in recent weeks, bumping his press coverage. In fact, he's gone to great lengths to take back some headlines. As Bret Baier notes, he finally succeeded.

New York Democratic Governor David Paterson is facing a $9 billion budget deficit in his state and has proposed major cuts and tax increases. Now some state lawmakers are blasting the governor for including an $800,000 earmark in his budget proposal for conjugal visit trailers at a maximum security prison in Seneca County.
A local newspaper reports the money would be used for two double-wide trailers that would enable inmates to host family members.

In fact, there's a completely reasonable expected outcome from providing these trailers:

Department of Corrections officials say the program helps rehabilitate inmates and allows them to better re-enter society.

At least these maximum-security inmates will be better equipped to re-enter something not involving another inmate. Of course, a less-attention-hungry Patterson could have kept this all under the radar, real easily like.
