Eric Massa's Weird Ghey Frathouse

I sort of predicted that Eric Massa -- the New York Progressive Democrat who resigned in the face of allegations of sexual misconduct -- would soon be the topic of a campaign to smear him as a lunatic. I was sort of right, since it turns out he really is a creepy weirdo, and it is being reported in the media.

Disgraced ex-Rep. Eric Massa insists he never sexually abused anyone, but he filled his Capitol Hill rowhouse with low-paid male staffers in an arrangement ripe for trouble.

In hindsight, Democratic insiders wondered about activities that before had just seemed odd. They said Massa hired a surprisingly large percentage of young gay men, and paid them so little that staffers were forced to live in the house with him.

"The guy's a freak," a close friend of one embattled Massa aide told the Daily News

Here's the rub, though. If Massa were a 'yes' vote on ObamaCare, Pelosi and Hoyer would be rallying to his defense, like they did for Charlie Rangel. And he's no creepier than Barney Frank or Gerry Studds, who suffered no electoral punishment for scandals as bad or worse. But, of course, Frank and Studds weren't elected in Republican districts, either.
